- Rhonda (2/5): - The whole place reeked of weed. The room wasn’t really clean. The kitchen downstairs was not clean. The elevator wasn’t working.
- KATHERINE (2/5): - Book somewhere else. Save yourself the time and hassle. Awful! The hotel smelled so strongly it gave us headaches almost immediately. After checking in and walking into the room, it noticed it was unclean. We asked to cancel and be refunded. They offered us to check another room, also not clean. The desk clerk said we should get a refund once the manager accepts it. We'll, he hasn't. Our travel agents have contacted them to try to receive a refund, they refuse. I called back this morning and was hung up on since he told me he, "I won't refund you". Absolutely unacceptable business practices.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Never again! - The hotel smelled horrible! The rooms are very outdated and the floors to the elevator were in horrible condition I almost tripped on them. When I tried to put the magnetic “Privacy” sign on the outside of my door the paint peeled off of the door with the magnet. They attempted to charge me twice for the room I had to show them my bank account where they already charged me.

TV in bedroom did not work but TV in sitting room did. No plug for bathtub. Staff could not be found for check out, but this was seen in other hotels at this time, too. Pool looked nice but did not try. Breakfast was minimal.

There was hair all over the floor, bedding and everything. Cigarette ashes in the bathroom. TERRIBLE and GROSS

The refrigerator didn’t work. The towel we were given to use at the pool was visibly stained. Told the front desk and he just nodded. Would not recommend. Especially room 215.

- Patricia (6/5): - Check in was a nightmare. First couldn’t find reservation even though I showed it on my phone. Female who was checking me in seemed unsure of what she was doing. I’d reserved 2 rooms. I was charged got one, then the other. After second time running my card, dhe told me that transaction didn’t go through and was cancelled. I would have up run my card a third time. I refused until I checked bank accounts that showed 2 charges. She then said “oh I see that payments were completed. She had to call her husband, I guess, to complete the booking. He was very professional and completed reservation quickly. The floors in hallways in front of room were buckled almost causing my daughter and I to trip and fall. Hole in the side of tub in room 101 and paint chipping around bathroom door. Hotel has changed to RedRoof Inn since the last time I was in Clinton. Nothing has changed but the name. I was reminded why my family stopped staying here several trips ago. The bees were comfortable although I didn’t sleep well due to construction workers in room above being loud most of the night. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

- Renate (8/5): - Overall good value for the price. Picked this because it was pet friendly. Clean and most of it newly renovated but minor issues with some of the items. Very basic breakfast items. There is one restaurant within walking distance and a gas station. Has electronic keycard. Entry is monitored via ring camera. Was able to check in quickly when arriving very late at night.

- Steven (4/5): - the room was in need of repair (cracked flooring, bed mattress was real spongy like it was old springs, the fold out bed had no mattress, the fan in the bathroom shook the ceiling and was really loud, the tub leaked around the sides when it was on and it wasn't leaking around the curtain it leaked through the caulking on the side of the tub.

Plus, they kept charging my card multiple times, and call the toll around, 6 saying my card is declined and I need you to unlock it. My bank disrupted the charge bc it say something about fraud is detected. But, the room, was alright it just it not clean. Plus, they need new flooring or something, the floor to soft. Overall the experience was good, me and my friends will not be bad here.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Absolutely Horrible - This was not a great experience for us. The hotel had a definite odor that wasn’t good and didn’t smell clean. We had our three kids with us and we specifically chose a room that would sleep 5. It had two beds and a pull out couch. When we were getting the couch bed ready we pulled it out and couldn’t find sheets. When I called down to the front desk for sheets I was told that they would be $20. For sheets for a bed that was advertised as a place for someone to sleep!! He told me I could use my own sheets. Well clearly since I’m staying at a hotel I wouldn’t think I needed to bring sheets from home. Thankfully we were just driving through on our trip to NC so it was just a one night stay. Hotels,com should absolutely remove this hotel from their app.

- CN (8/5): Good for the price & pet policy - There is a working TV, sink & shower fixtures are sturdy unlike other places. And outdoor facilities just aren’t the same, this one is indoor so it does have a home-y feel; the 2 working flat screens & DISH network are added bonuses! There is coffee, light breakfast provided, soap/ lotion, bath gel & conditioner attached to the wall! Very modern and fancy. So is the furniture. The suite option is roomy and preferable, not offered at other locations. The window shade is a nice touch unlike the outdoor blackout draw curtain.

The room WAS clean and comfortable bed.

But after our room being ajar even though we told it we didn't want any housekeeping, the room was still entered--Unacceptable!!! Will be disputing the charge because we didn't stay there!!! And the people behind the desk didn't care whether we left or not or whether we dispute the charge!!

They moved us to a room with dirty bed sheets (yellow red and black stains, burn holes, and haird all over the sheets). We had to find another place to sleep. It was that disgusting and unacceptable.To make matters worse, they refused to give us a refund. Do not stay here, the conditions of the rooms are squalid and the management is negligent. If management is reading this, please give me a refund.

Then I walked in guest area to check in and the first time was that they had the breakfast area unfinished like boxes and all kinds of stuff sitting there look like for months on going so I asked to check in the young lady was nice and polite but was on the phone on her Bluetooth the entire time while checking me in. So checked in the next thing that gave me red flags was that I was paying almost 2x what they where charging online thinking getting a great or better deal then on person so that pist me off plus saying in the information that Free Breakfast but there not even a breakfast area at all 🤔 so i go up to my room. The 3rd thing was I turn the lights on as i walk in theres a sitting are with a couch desk end tables lamps u know all needs to be updated so can't turn light on tv comes on but somehow not connected for channels tired everything 😕 so walk in then i see roaches thats a no no from the start so I got my room changed went in this room same thing crazy because

Although she offered to change my room she didn’t have my preference available because they are renovation. We had big dirty towels to use as bath towels. Ages when I requested more they gave us some rags. There was a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom. The bed was the comfortable part of our stay. Well my kids did get to enjoy the pool. After being told it was closed because they was renovating.

- Tasha (4/5): Just sleep in your truck! - Awful Smelled like straight mold dew. We noticed shortly after the carpet was damp! On top of the smell being awful we seen 2 roaches one crawling on the wall beside the bed! There was what looked like blood and dirt on the curtain the sheets were dirty and holes throughout the room including the wall of the shower! Would not recommend will not stay again

- Autumn (2/5): - I liked nothing about this property. As soon as we walked into the room there were cockroaches crawling up the wall. I went in the bathroom and there was moth poop on the toilet paper. The soap AND shampoo dispensers were totally empty, so I knew our room had not even been cleaned. I asked the receptionist if we could get another room and she had one. It looked kind of gross but smelled like it had been cleaned a little so we took that one. The bathroom light did not work so I had to give my two-year-old a shower (because the plug for the bath drain was also missing) in the dark with my phone flashlight. The toilet never stopped running all night. The pillows were about 12 in tall so we had two choices, to use no pillow, or break our necks. The next morning we went down to breakfast and it was all dark and there was a shopping cart (from where? who knows) parked in front to block it off. I asked the lady at the desk if they had a breakfast to take away thinking maybe they're still doing the covid thing with pre-wrapped breakfast? She was very rude and said "You can see there is no breakfast." I asked if the coffee machine was at least on and she told me I had coffee in the room. There was a coffee pod machine in our room and packets of instant coffee with nothing to load them in. I told her the coffee machine and coffee in our room did not work together and she told me "You put it in there" and walked off. I will never stay here again.

I asked to be put in another room and they said everything was booked but why put me in a room that they knew the air was working. I had to go purchase a fan in order to maintain comfort.
- Tracie (4/5): Won’t stay again - Took 10 minutes for any one to come check us in. The lock on the door did not work and there were gnats all across n the room due to the outside doors being open during the day and the room doors being left open after they were cleaned.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Weekend visit - Bed was comfortable. That’s where the positive stops. Bathroom ceiling was falling in, looked like black mold on the ceiling from water damage and had been painted over. No coffee for coffee maker. No toilet paper in bathroom. Bathroom door hinges were loose and door dragged badly. Sofa bed was not usable. There hasn’t been breakfast at the hotel since before Covid started. Still have “stay 6 feet apart” stickers and signs saying “masks must be worn”. Nobody wore masks. Also, hallways smell like cigarette smoke and very strong, sweet, cheap air freshener. Inside the room smelled fine. My family has been staying here for years and each time is worse than the last. I believe this will be our last stay, sadly. If the owners would do some updating, this could be a nice place again. Unfortunately, it seems like they don’t care about the property. On the plus side, it is reasonably priced and convenient location, close to restaurants.
- Heather (2/5): Never stay here! - I had to push a ring doorbell to get anyone to counter to check in. Once someone finally came, they acted as if it was an inconvenience to check me in at 3:30 pm. Then they tried to charge me $20 more bc we were going to use the pull out sofa bed that clearly states it sleeps 3. Never brought us the sheets for the pull out bed. Owner was very rude. We were supposed to stay here 4 more times this spring but have cancelled and changed hotels. The air conditioner was never turned on and didn’t work the entire night. Once we started packing up the car to leave, they turned it on.

- Annie (2/5): - I was given a dirty room then given room where nothing worked, dirty, bed sheets had brown stains on them, walls were dirty, no iron but ironing board, sink had no stopper, bathroom door wouldn’t close😡. The only reason we stayed was because of our refund might not be credited back to our credit card and it was going to be a hassle but believe me we were very unsatisfied from the time we go there and paid for 2 nights. Did not get any sleep

- James (2/5): Clinton Miss ABV Inn - Run, run away. We had 2 rooms, the main door wouldn't latch shut on one room, a guy came out with a big hammer and beat it into submission at 9pm. One room had no toilet paper at all not even on the roller. Both rooms bathroom doors wouldn't close more than halfway. No pots in either room for the coffee maker. Moldy golfball size hole in ceiling in one bath from water damage, rooms felt sticky even with AC running, floor in one room was slippery like the french fry area in a restaurant. Had a breakfast area that was being used for storage of what seemed to be debris, no breakfast, no coffee, no nothing. The beds where comfortable and it was quiet.

- Baily (2/5): - I don't usually write reviews (especially negative ones), but quite honestly, this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and all I found while booking was good ones. The exterior and location seemed nice, as did the pool, but the moment we walked into our room we were hit with a strong, musky, mildewy odor. Neither the front door nor the bathroom door opened or closed properly, there was actual mold all over the shower curtain and water damage marks on the ceiling, the bathroom floor was clearly unswept with dirt and dead bugs all over it, and the pullout couch was absolutely useless as there was no bedding for it and the mattress felt like nothing but springs. The only reason we didn't just up and leave was because we had all been on the road for many hours and just needed a little rest and showers. However, someone was banging on doors on our floor well into the night so we didn't even get that. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more to stay anywhere else.

Manager tried to dismiss my concerns by telling me that my devices were too old.Lobby smelled of some type of incense usually used to disguise other others.
- Shamar (6/5): Not the best stay, but still a good one. - This was not my first time staying at this hotel, but it was one of my worst ones. There were cleaning products left in the room. No ashtrays were available even though it was a smoking room. There was hair in the sheets. The door to the closet came completely off the hinge upon opening it. There was a hole in the bathroom wall. There was used coffee bag still in the coffee pot.

- Joshua (6/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was extremely cheap to rent. The air conditioning was great and you could set it very low, which helps me sleep. The tub/shower was nice and roomy. When I originally came in, I felt like the comments other made about it not being clean were unfair. I had to kill a roach in the bathroom, and when I went to pull down the sheets, I realized there was a pest problem there, too. There were two beds, so I used the smaller, less comfortable one. That's my only complaint, but it's a fairly serious one. I'm also an above the knee amputee, and without prompting the guy at the desk asked if I needed an accessible room and said they had some. I declined, and the regular room met my needs in that arena.

- MARESA (8/5): - The staff was nice 👌 👍 🙂. But my room was not clean when I made it there @ 6pm. I dusted, sprayed, wiped down bed . Bathroom floor used my own lysol wipes and spray to clean and per my time there I had to request my room to be clean. I had three nights! I clean myself when I made it there my guess was an hour away. Per my request they came and vacuum the floors. No problem and came right on. You want your place to look and feel clean when you are paying to stay! M.Alexander

I asked did they change the sheet she gone say they where okay but but once I went to check they weren’t. She then said she could only give me one sheet they would have to charge me as if someone was was sleeping on the let out couch!

- Janelle (6/5): Only if you have to get off the road... - The manager was polite. The property is in disrepair, has an unpleasant smell and is not one I could recommend unless you are in a real pinch to get off the road. Feels unsafe (outlets coming out of the wall), a single lamp, door didn't meet the jam; chain lock worked (door lock didn't). Exited and went to another property for my second night in Clinton.

- Victor (4/5): Rooms have a dank smell like it flooded - The rooms had a strong smell like the place had flooded. I changed rooms and it was just as bad. I selected the hotel thinking i could save a little money, but when I got there they charged the full $85.00 knowing the rooms were not up to standards.

- Arnehta (4/5): Nasty and Rude - After the first check-in the service was very poor and rude!! The next morning after leaving the room the key didn't work to re-enter room. The manager told me that I didn't pay for two nights and that I need to read because there is no breakfast, no coffee, no pool, no accommodations at all!!! I did inform her that she needs to also read because I had confirmation of paying and my reservation was for two nights and I would be sure to write a review about my experience and she said,"GO RIGHT AHEAD!" So finally she fixed my card/key for entrance to my room. We were not allowed an extra towel, wash cloth or sheet. It would cost $15 for a sheet but NO EXTRA TOWELS or WASH CLOTHS!!! The bathroom floor was dirty with hairs present, the hallway and room reeks of cigarette smoke and I purchased a nonsmoker room. I sprayed lysol & that didn't help. The pool was greenish-brown!!! I don't advise anyone to stay!!!! The location is GREAT & the blonde haired man was very nice and that is the only positive!!
