- Carmen (2/5): Never again - Location ok Wholes in the wall, tv outdated, no ice machine on second floor, elevator broken.
- Tammy (2/5): - When we arrived we were informed that the elevator was down and all the 1st an 2nd floor rooms were taken. Since I’ve recovered from a recently broken knee the stairs were uncomfortable. When we went to bed we both commented on the firmness of the mattress but by morning (after a terrible night’s sleep) we changed our opinion to as hard as a rock. Just like sleeping on the floor. 😐
- Ronald (2/5): - When i came in the guy at the front desk was on the phone the whole time. He asked me 1 question do i have reservation
- Agatha (10/5): - Very nice staff and very clean. Easy access to the interstate
- Carolyn Williamson (10/5): Awesome Stay ❣️ - Wonderful experience.
Clean, friendly & good breakfas🍞🍽🍎🥓🥚🥣☕️😃😀😄😁 When you walk in not only does it look clean it smelled clean.
The room same way.
Very refreshing & comfortable beds.
- Bette (5/5): This hotel gives good value for the price range. - It was located where we wanted to be. It was good value for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Kim (1/5): Horrible - Location We( myself, my mom, and my granddaughter) were out of town for a wedding. The room we reserved was supposed to accommodate for my mom, who can't use stairs. They had us on the second floor. They did have an elevator, but it was out of service. So they gave us a room on the 1st floor we went to it but it only had one bed. So we had to change rooms they put us in a room that had one bed and a couch bed . The room smelled funny when we went in. we started looking, and there was mold in the room and in the bathroom. They said that was the only room they had. We pulled out the couch bed, and it was dirty. There were no linens/ blankets for it. We had to go ask for it they gave us 1 sheet and 1 thin blanket. We got up the next morning to shower and get ready, and the shower didn't work.my mom can't get in and out of a bathtub. So I went and told them. They said they would have someone check it. They came to check, and they said we had to switch rooms.I went to the front desk, nothing available except the 3rd floor. Again, my mom can't do stairs they finally fixed the shower. We had other family that had reserved rooms, and they also had problems with their rooms. We will not stay there again.
- montia (10/5): - No pet area
- rodney (6/5): - The elevator was broken, being senior citizens we got a downstairs room. Had to pay extra..
- Barbara (2/5): Awful. Toilet would not flush! - Room wasn’t ready for guests.
1.One key did not work 90% of time, clerk finished folding towels before coming to help open door when I arrived, had to wait in hall for him
2. Ice & laundry machine +store room across hall very loud & noisy
3. A/C cool selection light was missing
4. Room smelled musty
5. Iron cord too short to reach board
6. TV was not set up, had no signal
7. Construction workers hanging out around pool area, sitting on tailgate eating meals
8. TOILET WOULD NOT FLUSH PROPERLY!!! - just awful not enough water in tank to flush, overflow tube too short. It took 5 times of flush then wait to fill tank. Rediculous!!!
- Daphnie (6/5): - Rude staff. Need to improve how they handle customer service.
- Patricia (1/5): I will never stay at another - The microwave didn't work.
The air vents were filthy, and the place smelled bad.
I've stayed at Motel 6, and that was a better stay.
The washer and dryer they offered were filthy as well.
I would say for the price it was a terrible stay.
I will not stay at another one. This one has put me off of this chain!!
The AC vents were filthy.
I cleaned them, but the place still stunk!
It's not worth the money! Nothing.
- Stephanie (1/5): Stay Away! - Nothing When we first arrived, we were given a key to someone else's room. Although the guest was not in their room, all of their belongings were, and the bed was unmade. We informed the front desk, and we were given another room. However, it also had a strong, moldy smell. There was also hair all over the bedding and in the bathroom. We requested another room, but that room also smelled of mold, and the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. We ended up canceling the room and requested a refund on the spot. Booking.com was very helpful in assisting us with a refund. The representative called the front desk directly while I was on the phone. The manager agreed to give us a full refund; however, we still have not received it. I will need to do more legwork to get it, but Annie from Booking.com was really great and did everything in her power to help.
- JoAnn (10/5): - Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
- gloria (6/5): - Not enough washcloths kleenex ran out bed lighting was confusing
- Keith (10/5): The hotel was perfect for our overnight stay. - The property was nice and they were friendly. NA
- Desa (4/5): Just say no - The hotel could not notify us they were painting, I have breathing issues, and all the windows were so badly covered we had no sun, the bathroom had a used bar of soap in the shower, the entire hotel smelled musty and all of our clothes felt damp and the shower steam never displated, the entire experience was horrible and unfortunately we did not have another option or we would never have stayed there.
- Morris (10/5): - Good good breakfast and great service
- Rebecca (6/5): - Front desk reception apparently did not communicate clearly between shifts and one person was not aware that our room was already occupied.
So, a copy of our room key was given to another guest (late at night) and they tried several times to enter our room, pushing the door hard against our bolt.
We were very alarmed at how this could possibly have happened and we indisposed ourselves, as were showering and settling in for the night!! No recompense was offered other than an “I’m sorry” - upsetting to say the least.
- Mary (10/5): - Great place
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was no one at the desk when I arrived. When I arrived in the room, there were two dead bugs on the bathroom floor.
- Saintuya (10/5): Wonderful stay - Clean comfy I liked it
- Jerry (10/5): - It was very nice and we enjoyed our stay

- BOBBY (4/5): Last time at this hotel - Key wood not open the door so I went down stairs to an empty front desk
After ringing the bell 10 times I finally had to call them on their phone to get help.
Because I booked with hotels.com I was put in the handicap room
- Guest (7/5): A good stay other than a couple of little things. - Convenient & staff was courteous. The room had a musty smell but staff took care of it. A couple of the pillow cases smelled sour.
- Michael (10/5): - Very nice property. Rooms were spacious. Clean modern. Definitely an upgrade from other hotels in the area. Secure. Room doors are inside as opposed to older hotels with doors opening out to exterior.
- Locks (10/5): Wonderful stay - Excellent room. Nothing
- Bettie (10/5): - Accommodations were good and the staff was helpful and friendly. Would stay at this property again if in the area.
- Ellen (4/5): Sad with a Holiday Inn sharing the parking lot where we will stay next time - Breakfast was bad. Had to ask them to fill it up even though there were very few people there. No coffee, no waffle mix, no bacon. Wound up with toast and a piece of sausage. When we asked to get the buffet filled up, they just stared at us and understood nothing. Later some of our group came down for breakfast and experienced the sane thing AC units were musty smelling, lots of humidity in room. Did not cool well. Coffe pot was broken. I reported it and I was told we could get coffee on the buffet, which we knew didn't have any!!
- Diane (8/5): Very good - One card key didn’t work. The clerk argued that it worked. She was rude about it.
- Francis (8/5): - Everything was good except the water pressure in the shower was horrible.
- Schneider (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (9/5): I would say overall, our day was good. It just took a little work to get there. - They had a pool, facility was clean, employees were accommodating, and it was in a good location . The hot tub looked nasty. The water needed cleaning the area inside the hot tub need cleaning. On the reservation, I asked for the rooms to be together and when we got there, one room was on one floor and the other one was on the next floor. At the desk, I reiterated we needed the rooms to be together, and he put us down the hall from each other. So once again, we had to go back down and request rooms together or across from each other and finally received our request. The electric plug between the beds was coming out And the other room the pipes in the bathroom were coming in and out.
- Monica (8/5): Very good -
- richardtF9238QM (2/5): Diamond Member Disrespected – Urgent Action Required - To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction and frustration regarding the treatment I received as a Diamond Member at your Schulenburg, TX property on the evening of May 27, 2025, around 8:15 PM.
I encountered an employee named Andy at the front desk who was uncooperative, dismissive, and frankly, unprofessional. I requested a complimentary room upgrade—a benefit clearly advertised to Diamond Members within your own app. Not only was the request denied without any meaningful explanation, but Andy also showed no willingness to assist or even acknowledge the validity of my concern.
There is no visible disclaimer or fine print in the Choice Hotels app indicating any restrictions on the type of upgrades Diamond Members are eligible for. If limitations do exist, then that’s a failure of communication and transparency on your part. If they don’t, then the staff at this location are clearly choosing not to honor your own loyalty program’s commitments.
What’s worse is the dismissive attitude I received. I was treated not as a loyal customer, but as an inconvenience. This is completely unacceptable—not just from a customer service perspective, but especially given my status and long-term loyalty to your brand.
If this is how Choice Hotels chooses to treat its highest-tier members, I will seriously reconsider where I take my business going forward. I expect a prompt explanation and resolution—starting with a review of this employee’s conduct and a formal clarification of your upgrade policy as communicated to members.
Do better.
- Amy (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Casey (6/5): Disappointed - Easy access to the town The man at the front desk was extremely rude. When we tried to check in he said we didn’t have a reservation. We said we booked thru booking.com. He said “call them”. He then waited on someone else saying we didn’t have a reservation. We then produced an email from comfort inn giving us confirmation a month before check in. No apology, no effort to problem solve. It started our stay with a very negative tone. We will never stay at a comfort inn again. Very sad with the lack of customer service.
- Mckenna (9/5): Superb -
- debig218 (6/5): Clean room but serious problems in the bathroom - Room was nice and large. We stopped in after driving from Big Ben national Park and stayed in Terlingua. Long drive and we were tired. Room was nice as I said. It was clean but as we went into the bathroom to take showers the tub is cracked in places and the faucet is barely hanging in the wall. The bathroom has several serious problems that need to be repaired asap! Room 208. Be aware of problems. I thought it was rather high. We were gone by 5 the next morning. Wanted to bet Houston traffic.
- Greg (8/5): Very good -
- Pamela (10/5): Great - The bbq near the hotel None
- Sue (9/5): Superb - No air conditioning in the fitness room. Very hot!

- Tommy (8/5): - Easy in and out
- carlos (8/5): Weekend - Good
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Very loud due to the freeway and it was hard to find someone at the desk without pushing the bell ringer.
- kathy (10/5): - This was a very clean property with friendly staff. My favorite thing is they use the proper led lights. Low wattage to save money but using the ones with the light on the bluer scale instead of orange so you can actually see the room and how clean it was. I hate dark orange light rooms they feel dirty
- Natalie (6/5): Cold jacuzzi - The jacuzzi was ice cold both days. Very disappointing.
- cindy (2/5): - Up All Night on the highway side Trucks breaking off of the Ramp
- Tom (5/5): Passable - Breakfast was fine except for the scrambled eggs-passed on finishing eating. Blah flavor with a texture of half-cooked oatmeal, mealy. The AC was very loud and noisy. The shower head too restrictive with too-fine water holes on the head. Didn’t think I’d ever get all of the soap rinsed off.
- Roy (10/5): - Very clean.
- Stacy (10/5): Exceptional - I love this small town and enjoying small town features. I wasn't able to stay long enough
- Cindy (9/5): Superb -
- Ed (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Tv did not work, checked with desk to no avail. I finally reset remote and got tv to work.

- Sabine (8/5): Nice stay for a night ! - Clean and nice staff
- Kirsten (8/5): - The noise on the Hwy side of bldg was loud and we had trouble sleeping. The breakfast was not good tasting. The eggs, sausage, bacon and waffle - I couldn't eat more than a couple of bites each. The coffee tasted great though.
- Darlene (10/5): Exceptional - The friendly staff . Clean place and great breakfast I have no complaints. Everything was good.
- Lucia (4/5): - Only reason we stayed was for a wedding. The knob on our room was not working and we fought to get into room. Night manager was rude to my husband. No breakfast. No one ever at the front desk. Always had to rung a bell and wait
- Kellie (10/5): Very nice, clean and friendly. Great location - Everything was great
- Joseph (2/5): - After driving 1200 miles decided to get a room.Opened my expedia app and searched for hotels nearby. Didn't notice the default date was 2 weeks away. Booked this hotel and went to checkin. Heartless owners refused to switch the date. So I ate $135. Hope you enjoyed the cash! I would NOT recommend this property.
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): - Comfortable bed, clean and great breakfast!
- nain (10/5): - Good place
- Angelini (10/5): Exceptional - Check in was super fast.
Pillows were extremely comfortable as well as the sheets and mattress. We only got one bottle of water at check in. There were two of us staying in the room.
- Megan (8/5): - Staff was friendly and the room smelt good. Room was clean!
- Trampus (8/5): Very good -
- J Rosario (2/5): - I usually stay at this hotel, but this time I had a bad experience. The room needs to be cleaned because they have bed bugs . I couldn't sleep because of so many bites.
- Carlos (8/5): Thanksgiving visiting Schulenburg, Texas - Location was excellent right off the main street of the town of Schulenburg where we intended to visit. The con in this case was that it is also in front of interstate 10 and the constant traffic noise while not unbearable was noticeable. For a November date the hotel was not busy and we had overall a pleasant stay. Comfortable king bed for us with nice pillows, coffee maker, fridge and microwave and a nice bathroom set up, made it more complete. There was around 25 square feet of empty space in the corner of the bedroom where they could easily have a chest with drawers for storing clothes or a small couch. The breakfast is the same everyday, Instead of pure orange juice they have a version of sugary orange drink that we had to throw away after tasting.
- Blanca (10/5): - Easy check-in and quiet hotel.
- Fisher (9/5): Superb -
- Allison (10/5): - Very clean, wry helpful staff.
- James (10/5): Excellent value, clean, comfortable and I will be back. - Clean, comfortable , great value Ran out of bacon and sausage for a while at breakfast and the egg like product was not extremely palatable, but the rest of the breakfast was good and plentiful.
- Dana (8/5): Very good - Rooms very spacious well appointed, clean, comfy beds FOX NEWS WAS ON TV 24/7! REALLY, why can't you play something more neutral, calming like National Geographic channel or something else other than divisive NEWS all day! Will choose another hotel due to this issue.
- Jared (9/5): Superb -
- Pat (4/5): - I booked online for two nights arriving October 15 and leaving October 17. Was charged for three nights instead of two.
- Richard (8/5): - I was very disappointed in the whirlpool not being heated. It was also very cold and dirty. YUCK
