- Irene (4/5): - I didn’t like the fact that I was told by front desk on arrival that there was a fee of $30 for early “ check in” which I required after travelling in from Surrey to attend my Sister’s 90th birthday luncheon. I needed to change from my travelling outfit to the clothes I brought to attend the luncheon. After discussing this fee with those at the luncheon, a lot of them who travel frequently said they never heard of such nonsense and have checked in at hotels earlier than 4:00 and were never told there would be an extra fee for checking in earlier. I also did not like the TV service!!! Would have been nice to turn the TV on and select channels like our normal TV. I also didn’t like the TV,

- Rose (8/5): Great other choice. - Location wise it is good as long as you are only needing to do things in this area. Busy entrance area, the pool area is very loud even with just a few people in there. Need to wash the shower curtain once in awhile. There was a staff shortage when we were there, good thing I have energetic granddaughters to go to the front desk when we needed extra bedding and towels. This hotel was used as the regular hotel we stay at was not available. We needed a bit bigger room especially bathroom as there was 4 children and 1 adult.

- Fiona (10/5): - Hotel overall has an older vibe ; the elevator, the hallway carpet and whole structure tells you it's a bit dated but well maintained, and the view is spectacular. Free breakfast with usual options of eggs/sausage/yoghurt/toasts etc but can request steamed veggies and also chocolate chip provided next to pancake maker. Bonus. Bed is very comfortable, internet a tad slow but usable. Driving around is easy and I do love the pool and hot tub plus the free coffee thru lobby machine. Just a few room concerns and pricing. I did last min long weekend booking so it's definitely expensive compared to the other similar hotel I booked earlier; couldn't get the original room with schedule change and this is the cheapest among the few available to book on the day. this is just industry practice. Bathroom is generally clean but the faucet of my tub was dripping a little and hand soap level was low.
- Ksenia (8/5): - There were comfy beds; average continental breakfast. I have compared with my family stay in Sicamous, same hotel chain where we were more satisfied with their service quality. We have had the similar room for 6 people, but in Kamloops we’re a little bit frustrated about bathroom’s & toilet’s essentials (liquid hand soap, tissues), and experienced bad odour in the room.
- Anna (2/5): - We arrived to find a run down hotel with some sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot. We checked in, noticing how run down the building seemed. We tentatively went to our room, but found that there were crumbs all over the carpet and stains on the windows and bathtub. We did not feel comfortable staying there, nor did we feel like our vehicle was safe in the parking lot. We told the receptionist, and she apologized and agreed to give us the $100 damage deposit back. However, since we booked through Expedia, I don’t think we got the full refund for the room. We spent extra money and booked a room at the Best Western. Much cleaner and safer there.

Plenty of parking spaces. Not the best location to explore Kamloops as a bit out of the centre - but we knew that in advance. There was also a small mouse (or shrew) in the breakfast room.

TV CHANNEL IS COMPLETELY BORING NOTHING FAMILIAR I ENDED UP WATCHING ONE GODDAMN CHANNEL FOR MY ENTIRE STAY. NO ROOM SERVICE THE FOOD IN THE MORNING WAS ABSOLUTELY TASTELESS GROSS.EVEN COFFEE WAS DISGUSTING. THAT BREAKFAST WAFFLE AND FRENCH TOAST WAS BEYOND DISGUSTING I'M PRETTY SURE IT CAME FROM THE FOOD BANK. The coffee in the room was coffee. I've never drank before. I ended up bringing it home to see if my husband wanted to try it, but unfortunately he didn't like them either and they were all thrown out. you could at least give something if people are familiar with like the morning coffee. that's what the brands are called and I had no sugar in my room. I had splendex and something else. not even sugar like serious. you can't afford packages of sugar in the rooms. I did not have second day bar soap to take a shower so I had to go buy one. when I returned to my room there was nothing failed other than the normal towels and making my bed and I took off the blanket and I left a note on it saying this is absolutely disgusting. wash it.

It is time for replacement as the underside was disintegrating and stuffing was coming out of the bottom and dropping on the floor. The lights in the bathroom were very dim. The water pressure was good. It was fine but considering the price i would normally expect more. Seems Kamloops hotels are high priced overall.

We are tea drinkers. A kettle and small milk would be useful but not a deal breaker as there is a full station in the lobby along with fresh cold water.

- Debra (6/5): Ok for an overnight - Booked for an overnight stop over. Receptionist was helpful in recommending places to eat but was confusing when talking about dollars as loonies and toonies? Aren't these cartoons? Bedding had greasy marks on it. Fortunately at the end of the bed on top but still very off-putting. Breakfast was ok. Parking was easy.
- DORIE (6/5): - Front staff was very unpleasant. I do not like the fact that you have to pay for all of your rooms upon check in, plus damage deposit. Check in room 1 was the king suite I booked, it was still in use or not cleaned as it was still moist from a shower. They gave me a second room, 2 queen with sofa, told me that’s all they had unless I wanted to wait until the next day so they could switch it after they cleaned the other room. We were tired after 10 hour drive and since the staff was miserable I tried calling other hotels, nobody had rooms so we went with the 2 queen. Got to the room, it was nice size, but smelled like disgusting wet dog, possibly pet piss that wasn’t cleaned well. They did call and said they found a king suite so I went and checked it out. It didn’t stink, was clean enough just dated. After we got settled in the stay was good for the remainder of the trip. Free breakfast was a good add on, but if you wanted anything remotely fresh be there 30-45 mins before closing or you are getting bottom barrel. The free coffee machine in the main lobby was fantastic. The pool was very good for the kids, shallow pool, it was good and clean area. Parking was good and well lit. Lots of siren noise being on a main road. Close to lots of good restaurants and amenities. It turned out to be a decent stay after we got a clean decent room. The hotel could use some Reno’s and updates. House keeping is rare. I will say, $1500 for 4 nights is waaay too much for what you get.

- Darryl (6/5): OK, but not at typical BWP standards - Best Western Plus is our hotel chain of choice for travel in Western Canada. I don't think we will be staying at this Kamloops location again. On the plus side, beds were comfortable, everything was clean. Compared to BWP properties, it doesn't shine. The coffee machine in the lobby was out of service, the shower head in the room was loose (still serviceable), the towel storage for the shower were on the opposite side of the bathroom (someone not thinking), there was no welcome fruit or cookies at check-in (like many other properties have), and the breakfast was at the minimum standard to meet BWP standards.
