• lexit678 (2/5): TERRIBLE! - DISGUSTING! MANAGEMENT IS DISRESPECTFUL! I had to DRAIN my own bathtub because it was broken the owner yelled at me for requesting a partial refund due to the issue the room was disgusting! I would NEVER do business here again new ownership from the previous yrs have destroyed this place! Would’ve had better results at a damn motel. Now the owner is blowing up my phone yelling at me because I’m leaving a bad review! Just over all the biggest disappointment of a business! Feel so bad for the employees that tried to help but were failed by their boss/Owner.

The room had a smell, bath showers floor discolored and disgusting. Out dated furniture that should have thrown out or reupholstered. The staff was awesome. Very accommodating lovely people Put would I stay again only if it was absolutely no other hotel to go to. Again it just needs to be updated with a new everything otherwise you are a pleasant establishment

• Tour664044 (2/5): Neglectful staff - I had a terrible experience at this hotel. While my car was parked in their lot, it was hit within a 20-minute window. When I reported it to the front desk, the receptionist called the manager—but the manager refused to come out, refused to help, and wouldn’t even check the other vehicles in the lot. I was told the security cameras “didn’t work.” Since then, I’ve been trying to reach a manager for over 24 hours, but they won’t return my calls and keep dismissing it as “my problem.” I understand accidents happen, but the complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and customer care is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
• Maddog1947 (8/5): Stay here while visiting Cortland - Good place to stay. Comfortable beds, (though a little soft for my taste), clean rooms and a good breakfast. The property seems to be well maintained and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice place to rest for the night. Rooms seemed to be well insulated and I heard no noise whatsoever. Both front desk attendants, both upon check-in and check-out, were very friendly. The morning person extremely so!
• Tony (8/5): - This was a perfect place to stay close to the baseball fields (like less than 1 min close). Breakfast was your standard continental breakfast. I do have 2 suggestions for breakfast, 1. with games starting at 8am and being so close to the fields, starting at 7am is a bit late. 6 or even 6:30am would be much better. 2. The individual servings of cream cheese need to be refrigerated at all times placing them in with the breads that are not refrigerated isn’t good. This was the case on both Sat and Sun mornings. The rooms were clean, most stuff seems to be updated fairly recently and the bed was comfortable. The only area that didn’t looked to be touched was the stairwells but honestly it’s not a big deal to me. I will say the noise from the road can be a bit loud sometimes but it’s manageable.

• rtaba285 (6/5): Clean almost rural hotel, but mediocre breakfast - Overall, nice and clean motel though in a somewhat odd location, not in the town. Surroundings incliude a working farm and cornfield, a tractor supply company, some warehouses --- no commerial or walking areas directly accessible. Major negative: low-grade breakfast. (That's the reason for 3 stars rather than 4). It was not terrible, but definitely below average. No variety of tea bags-- only Lipton's black tea. A few packets of instant oatmeal-- but none of the usual "mix-ins" people might want: raisins, walnuts, bananas, cinammon. None of the available breads to toast seemed to be whole wheat. Pre-made scrambled eggs were too salty. And, in the aspirational area, they use, like most American hotels, wasteful styrofoam and plastic utensils contributing to waste (rather than washing dishes. Plus (found on internet: nearby Lime Hollow Nature Center (5 min by car) has mile of great walking trails. Hotel access: if you are not using GPS, this is tricky. While it faces a highway, entry/exit is actually via a side road and requires about a half-mile (1 km) loop on the side road.

• Nicholas (6/5): - Had a wedding to attend and stayed bc it was move-in week for the area colleges. The staff were helpful. The breakfast was limited but sufficient. The bed was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the facility was not the cleanest. The pool was dirty, and the room had a musty smell. The lobby was hot and humid. The curtains were broken. The AC in the room worked well, but made loud noises that sounded like it was going to break. It did not and remained a working unit throughout the reservation (3 days/2 nights). Overall, not worth the cost per night. Cortland is a depressed area overall with little to do, but if you are in the area, check out the 1890 house.
• Verified traveler (4/5): NO GO - Very poor quality hotel. The drawers were not closing, coming out very difficult to walk. No options for breakfast. Beds are not comfortable. Sticky smell in the rooms. Overall a very poorly maintained hotel
• Laura (4/5): Very dirty hotel - we were in town for one night to move her son into his college dorm in Ithaca. We had to rebook our stay from a hotel in Ithaca and this was the only room available. We paid almost $300 to stay in this room and it was absolutely filthy. The people at the front desk were very nice. They were the only real employees that we had any interaction with but overall the hotel needs a major update in furniture as well as carpet replacement and paint. It was pretty gross.

• 613kv (6/5): Could be a lot better.... - The hotel is newer, but you would not know it. The outside landscaping is in terrible shape, and the grass is awful. The room we stayed in had evidence of a leak from above. The hotel interior was also in disrepair. You could see dust and dirt behind the trash can in front of the elevator. The breakfast was OK. The staff were friendly and helped us find some places to eat. They were doing construction on the road, so getting out onto the road was a challenge.

• Charlanne (4/5): - The staff took 25 minutes to check us in, gave us a handicapped room whose drain did not work so taking a shower flooded the bathroom floor and I had to mop it up to even walk in there, and the carpet had dirty looking spots.

• Jamie (6/5): - Con isn’t for what we were in the area for. Property definitely needed some updates. There were several Sheetrock patches with no paint in our room, one of the towels had stains on it and a shelf that was in the bathroom was hanging from the wall
• Marcin (6/5): - We stayed for two nights at Best Western Plus Finger Lakes. The location is convenient - close to shopping, restaurants, and right next to a mini golf course. Parking was easy and plentiful, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Customer service at the front desk was poor, and they weren’t flexible about a late checkout. Breakfast options were limited, there was no hairdryer in our bathroom, and no room service during our stay. If you need extra towels, you’re required to bring your used ones down to the front desk to exchange them, which felt unnecessarily inconvenient. We also had the bad luck of being placed next to few rooms booked by families attending a youth baseball tournament. The teenage boys were loud and unsupervised in the hallways both nights, keeping us up until midnight when we had early mornings planned. It made for a frustrating and restless stay. For the price, you’d expect a bit more in terms of service, amenities, and overall experience. While the location is great, we likely wouldn’t return.
• Laura (6/5): - It was ok. If you’re going to a PBR tournament in Cortland, it’s location is perfect. I don’t have anything bad to say - it was on the shabbier side - but it was a clean comfortable place to sleep. nothing special. FYI, the “hot breakfast” promised was powdered eggs & make your own waffle. Otherwise it was a fridge with yogurts & some prepackaged muffins.

There was not enough hot water for 2 of us to shower and the foot stool in our room was decrepit (see photo). We actually checked out one day early despite having paid $299 for the night.

The hotel has a very welcoming and attractive appearance from the outside, and the interior is just as impressive. The rooms are modernly furnished, clean, and incredibly comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring or attending events at SUNY Cortland. The location is also very convenient, just a short drive to the university and nearby attractions. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cortland — whether for business, leisure, or a quick getaway. I look forward to staying here again!

• Samantha (8/5): - Convenient to SUNY Cortland. Helpful staff. Good breakfast options. Comfortable beds. My only concern about this property is in the general upkeep and maintenance. I was given a room with a window that didn’t close completely, making the road noise very loud inside the room. The staff member graciously moved me to a different room and said he would make note of the maintenance issue. However, when I spoke with my husband later, he told me that he had also been placed in that room on his last trip and asked to move. That was well over a year ago. It seems like that would be enough time to fix a window. Other than that, the hotel was sufficient for my needs, though if I had a choice of staying there again or down the road, I would probably choose down the road.

• Kevin (10/5): Fine by me - Quick easy check-in, clean room, comfortable bed. I pass thru the Cortland area occasionally and this is my first choice for accommodation when I stay the night.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not great value - This was last minute booking on a Friday and room rate of almost $300 combined with photos seemed reasonable, but room didn't deliver at that price point despite great friendly and helpful staff. When entering room it was freezing. Heat was not on (which is fine to save energy) but window was not full closed in winter, letting cold in. Window was difficult to close, did not slide, lock did not align. Heater worked but had funny smell, coils were visually dirty. TV did not work at first. We played with connections, source, remotes, etc with no luck. Called for help. Before help arrived we reset TV and seemed to work. TV Listing on counter didn't match channel numbers. Later had other issues with TV. Bedside lights did not work, either of them. Bathroom was a surface remodel, but old adhesive drips from sink install remained on sink. Remodel was of poor quality. Staff was great, breakfast had good variety and items did not run out. Drink dispenser broken but they had pitchers instead. Overall, for the cost, just not a good value. Property had space, and short drive to amenities, but not close. Weekend rate, especially in winter, should be closer to $120 and rating would have been higher. Staff made it not a one star review.

I ran into problems printing something in the Business Center and even though it was very late at night, I was still helped by the staff. The bathroom was a little dated with some repaired wall damage, but other than that, this was a great value for the money. We would definitely stay here again.
• sharoncT4605GD (8/5): Pool is cold - The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the pool was very very cold. Next time I’ll stay at the Fairfield Marriott or the Holiday Inn Express, which both have breakfast included & indoor pools. Desk staff were friendly & helpful and the room was clean. But when I asked if the fireplace was ever lit (this was Feb, if not then, when?) the desk.staff said not I the entire time I’ve worked here. The pool looks lovely in photos, but was FRIGID even tho indoors. We asked if it was possible to turn up the heater, & the desk staff said they didn’t think there was one. ! In central New York! So the oool & fireplace are just there to look pretty in pix.

• patrick (8/5): Shred Gnar, Stay Here - Nice stay near the Greek Peak ski area and Shipwrecks waterpark. We arrived to our room to find it approximately 197°F. We immediately cracked the window, turned off the heat, and engaged the air conditioning device until a more comfortable living temperature was achieved. Staff were friendly. The refrigerator made a bunch of noise. WiFi didn't work that great. The hotel is conveniently located within a short distance of Cortland and Homer which both have quality dining options. The vending machines were apparently recently removed which is peculiar. The front desk has bottled water available for purchase. Didn't make it into the pool, but it was a nice area and I'm sure would be refreshing. It was a nice stay despite the few minor issues.

• Verified traveler (6/5): OK Stay - No salt on the ground during icy conditions... I almost fell three times on the way to the car. Not enough food at breakfast... had to remind the staff to bring more out. Room was nice and clean, bed comfortable.

I had to ask the attendant to spread salt and even then, he was hesitant and told me to just be careful… Very poor heating system (bad sensors), always hot and very dry air. Beds were comfortable.

I gave my kids a warm shower and hot bath. The bathroom door was so heavy it shut on my son’s fingers leaving a welt across his ring finger. The juice and hot chocolate machines were not working at breakfast and we had to go back to the room to grab water bottles .
• Gary (10/5): - I normally slide right in with hotel staff and get along great and this hotel was no exception. I am older and people love telling their stories to me. There was a young (younger than I) lady working day shift at the desk I enjoyed hearing her special stories. I work from hotel rooms around America so I have free time when on my breaks.

• debrakV324XG (4/5): Going Down Hill VERY Fast - This is a fairly new building but it's going down-hill fast due to lack of repairs. Hand rails in the elevator have been broken for over six months. There was also no vending machine because it was "broken and out for repairs" and bottled water was not offered for sale. The tap water was terrible.
• Steve (4/5): - Clearly intending to do a bare minimum of service to still be called a hotel, but falling short. Breakfast was a joke -- barely stocked, not nearly enough seating. Charged $225 a night for barely $100 service.

• Sasquatch1971 (4/5): Nice property, but understaffed and overpriced - The hotel manager explained that they were slammed with a full house and were short staffed because staff had quit without notice. To compound things, the owner was in the hospital with major health issues. I understand the stress the staff was under. I can overlook the inadequate breakfast offerings and the empty ice machine. I can also overlook the manager's refusal of my request for a late checkout (I am a Best Western Diamond member). But I can't overlook the rate they charged for the hotel room. They claimed that it was a King Suite. From where I sit tonight in a standard King at a Hampton Inn in the DC area, the Best Western's "suite" was a standard King Room at a higher price than what I'm paying tonight. Given that it's the height of Fall travel season in the Cortland area, I think an appropriate price would be around $150 per night, plus taxes. I paid nearly $260 for one night, plus taxes. It is a nice property and our room was clean. But unless hotel management can adequately staff the place, I cannot recommend it.
• Niv (6/5): - We have ordered a room for 2 adults and one kid. The room wasn’t prepared for additional bed, when we asked in the Lobby to fix it it didn’t helped.

• Charles (6/5): - Staff were very friendly and wanting to be helpful. But hotel was not kept up especially for a BestWestern plus site. Stains on carpet (hallway and rooms), broken down equipment, dresser in room had pack of tissues under it to try and keep drawer from coming open. Overall staff seemed to do the best they could with the resources they had. I just expected more from Best Western.

• Nina (6/5): - Very outdated, pictures online do not reflect what you see in the hotel. The breakfast was very sad, being to many best westerns with breakfast included this was one of the worst ones. Coffee machine didn’t work, pancake machine didn’t work. Limited food for the whole hotel. Room needed basic attention and maintenace (water leaking in the shower) . Elevator didn’t work past the second floor, the door wouldn’t open and you had to go through the cleaning/service area.

• Toni (8/5): Comfortable stay - Nice hotel, served our needs well for a short overnite stay. Only issues were no water in vending machine and outdated charging stations in the rooms.
• Alfred (4/5): Microwave breakfast - My stay was overall was decent. The bed was somewhat uncomfortable. The place was clean. The breakfast was horrible. I've stayed at multiple best westerns in the past and this by far was my most disappointing stay.
