Verified traveler (10/5): - Just love old hotels. This one was clean and comfortable and nice.
Verified traveler (4/5): - We ended up in a smaller room than originally booked because the room we were originally assigned to was not available. The customer service team did give us some money back, but it was an inconvenience.
Mike (6/5): - The owners clearly spent a lot of sweat and love to get this place back in working order. Many things went into disrepair in the past. The hotel is practically the entire town square. The workers I dealt with were clean, polite and very friendly. The ceilings are insanely high. (Keeping this place so clean has got to be impossible.) The walls in this place are very thin. I could here everything going on in the bar downstairs. I was very tired so I passed out quickly. I was startled awake at 1am by walking noises that felt like they went on forever. It was a couple walking to their room directly above me. They weren’t stomping about, just casually walking and it was loud as hell. When I got up to leave my room at six am I quietly walked down the hallway and could hear a guest sleeping. Not snoring, just breathing. If you are a heavy sleeper or wear ear plugs, it won’t be a hassle. If you keep in mind this was probably someone’s home at one time, the lack of a ton of modern amenities shouldn’t bother you at all. This place has a lot of history. I had no problem with the price, location, cleanliness or the staff. Tip1: The bar connected to the hotel is very enjoyable. It was dead in the afternoon but was real busy at night. Tip2: The ice cream shop that is also connected to the hotel makes some great ice cream. Their staff was real knowledgeable about the Christmas parade that was going to happen the night we stayed.
Amanda (10/5): Staying here is an experience1 - Desk clerk greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, and gave us all the information we needed. Love the ambiance of this older hotel. Loved the staircases, the antique furniture, the older portraits. Parking was not a problem at all. Love the history of the town it is set in. Would love to stay there again in the future!
Verified traveler (8/5): - Revisited my earlier years: the hotel is nicely furnished, sleeping quarters were great. Breakfast two doors down was terrific! We had no info on entering the hotel after hours (~midnight); there was no one at the desk to inform us or respond to the audio-alert on the outside of the entry.

When we were there was rock band playing in the ballroom directly above our room with extremely LOUD rock music, and they were jumping and stomping on the floor at the same time. So distubing that we had to check out and go to another hotel for the night. Management's customer service was terrible. Will NOT be back.

It’s an opportunity to live for a moment within the history of a very unique and important chapter in Southern history. Comfortable enough for me, very clean, good bar next door and friendly staff. If you love Southern history and beautiful architecture you will not be disappointed.

Verified traveler (8/5): Nice but hazard feature in the room. - We were there for two nights. The hotel is quaint and recently remodeled. However, when the remodel was done apparently the contractor doing the work did not see the need to make the threshold between the bathroom and sleeping area flush with the floor. I nearly fell more than once. I had to put something on it to be sure I remembered to step up. It was at least two inches higher than the adjacent floors. A hazard tape of some kind needs to be on the threshold itself if they leave it as it is. I had to keep a light on in the bathroom at night because I was afraid I would trip in the dark.

randy (8/5): Beautiful, restored hotel. - A privilege to stay in such a historical, comfortable structure. The staff is warm and friendly. The Jockey Club restaurant, part of the overall building is convenient and nice. Wings and Things is a casual restaurant behind the hotel, good wings and hamburgers, and an easy walk from the hotel. The continental breakfast is surprisingly sufficient including little biscuits to warm up along with the standard pastry and fruit. If you are not in a hurry, a neat getaway, in a historic town. All around the square are buildings built in the late 1800s. Several of the stores are not open, but some nice shops and a good buffet restaurant. In the event you enjoy who you are with, wish to have time to be together at a slow, but classy pace, this beautiful, restored lady is a wonderful treat.
Melinda (8/5): Fun stay but not particularly comfortable. - This hotel is really unique and a fun place to stay, however, the bed was unbelievable squeaky and rather small. It is a quaint hotel with some fun history but does not speak to many contemporary comforts.
norman (6/5): Historical But Needs Work - This historic hotel is not well maintained. TVs and room furniture is not even close to well conditioned. TV actually stopped working and when we tried to find someone to help no one there. We paid a very high dollar because it was Masters week. The only redeeming part of staying in Washington was the people in other local businesses who went above and beyond to make our stay in there town memorable.

L. (6/5): Possibly Too Small and Too Quiet? - The Fitpatrick Hotel is the architectural jewel on the square in the centre of Washington, Georgia. The owners should be applauded for their restoration efforts and for providing the town with such an asset. That said, staying there recently on a Monday night was not as memorable as we had hoped. The hotel lobby and reception are impressive but our room was small (for the price we were paying) with a small window with no view. The bathroom was relatively large. Upon arrival it was explained to us that the Fitzpatrick operates as a bed and breakfast on weeknights. Essentially, this means that there are few staff around and you need to let yourself in and out of the front door after hours. The Fitzpatrick Hotel staff recommended the upmarket restaurant across the square for dinner but, unfortunately, it was closed on Mondays and there few other dinner options in Washington. The hotel’s breakfast buffet in the morning was straightforward with limited offerings. We enjoyed walking down Robert Toombs Avenue and looking at the splendid homes, large and small, in this very quiet, quaint town.

All the staff are great and welcoming as are all the town folk. Great place to stay for a couple of nights. The actuel town is like going back a few hundred years but love it
CARROLL (8/5): Look forward to another stay! - Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, very clean. OK breakfast. Quiet, comfortable for sleeping. By the nature of the very old building we could hear when people started getting up in the morning.
Verified traveler (6/5): A mixed bag - as expected - When you stay at a historic building that is over 100 years old you expect charm and interesting features. But, you shouldn't have to call the Front Desk on their cell phone to meet you, you shouldn't run out of hot water, and you should have to put your toiletries on the toilet because they don't provide space in a large bathroom. If you want charm with unnecessary inconveniences then this is your place.

Tom (10/5): Historical Hotel - The hotel is located in a history rich area. From the check in with Daniel to the check out with Carolyn the experience was wonderful. If you are looking for a hotel rich in history and appreciate the 1800's craftsmanship then this is the place for you to stay. From the hotel lobby and entrance way all the way up the staircase it takes your breath away. The room has the most comfortable bed and the cast iron claw foot tub with the extra high ceilings in each room make it an excellent place to stay. We will stay here ago for sure. Make sure to walk around the square and see the courthouse and the monuments. It also had the best continental breakfast ever.

Old Soldier (10/5): Turn of the Century - We loved our stay. They operate a bit differently in that it is not staffed full time except on weekends. With a reservation you can stay during the week. Someone will open and man the desk if a room has been reserved. The building is amazing. The woodwork is to die for..The rooms were good sized. No phone but in this age who does not have a cell phone. The hotel is right on the main town square. Lots of old houses to see. A couple of good museums. We especially enjoyed the Calloway Plantation. Our host at the desk was very accommodating. Breakfast was minimal but enough.. We would stay here again.
Verified traveler (6/5): Good weekend stopover outside of Athens or Atlanta - The Fitzpatrick Hotel has been lovingly restored on the main square of a quaint town about an hour outside of Atlanta. Time has stopped here and it was a step back to another era. We got a room upgrade so we could face the square. Breakfast was included in the room rate.

Doug and Ruth (10/5): A beautifully reconstructed Victorian hotel - This hotel is a gem. It is a beautifully restored hotel in the main square of a lovely Ante Bellum town. The service we received was excellent and our room comfortable and well appointed and totally in keeping with the theme of the hotel, but with all the appropriate modern additions. The bed was supremely comfortable. Do experience this delightful town.
Grapeman John (8/5): Beautiful historic hotel - Stayed one night in Washington, Georgia while attending the Jeff and Sherry Easter homecoming. Happened to find this hotel on Expedia with decent ratings. Turned out to be very nice, clean and excellent staff. Would highly recommend to others if you are in the area.
Rose (10/5): In town for our family reunion - We arrived at the Fitzpatrick Hotel just after breakfast and was able to check in early. We noticed that the dining area was being cleared and we had missed breakfast, the registration clerk saw to it that we got to our rooms and on the way out to eat, she informed us that she had breakfast for us. Kudos to the staff. The service was impeccable and the rooms were beautifully decorated and immaculate.
