- Jacqueline (10/5): Amazing value - A few of the things I liked in the dorm room is each bed has a curtain so you have privacy and the space is really big with lots of storage space right under your bed. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the welcome card is a nice touch too. There’s a nice chill out area with bean bags and the coffee is great too. (Good coffee is a rarity in hostels)
- Myriam (2/5): Un désastre - Nous avons restés 3 nuits sur 7 au Skypod. Il a eu une panne d’électricité importante qui a durée au moins trois jours: nous ne savons pas réellement quand l’électricité et revenu, nous sommes partis. Le personnel ne s’en préoccupait pas de tout, personne était capable de nous informés sur la situation. Ils riaient et bavardaient ensemble... De plus, ils laissent entrer des nouveaux clients à 4h le matin qui n’ont aucun respect pour les gens qui dorment... Machine à café brisée et jamais réparée. Déjeuner corrects sans plus. Trop bien côté et trop cher pour un hostel comme ça! Bref, n’y allez pas, il y a moins cher et mieux !

- Jon (10/5): Nice comfortable hostel - Had an enjoyable stay here. This hostel is clean and comfortable. The only down side is it is located 5 mins drive from the city centre.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A little run around adventure - Stay at Skypod was good. The 2nd night we booked a month or so in advance. We showed up to find out the whole hostel was booked up. They relocated us to JIA by Skypod and refunded our night. A small hiccup but they were very accommodating. Only little upset was that they agreed to pay for our airport transfer from the new place but didn't.

- leyla (8/5): Good atmosphere, friendly staff - I enjoyed my time at the SKypod hostel. The rooms were very clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and were able to help with most things. My only downside was the location. For me it was not central enough to the city. However it was walkable or you can catch and Uber quite cheap.

- Andoy (10/5): Very Nice Hostel - Very Friendly and Helpful Staff - My first time staying in a hostel, let alone a "pod" type hostel. I was in a mixed room with about 25 pods. Below each pod was storage room to hold even a suitcase with a provide lock. Free wifi, a very simple breakfast with free coffee all day and night. There were 3 showers(never a problem with water pressure or hot water) that were shared among us plus 2 restrooms. There was also a changing room in both the shower area and in the shared dormitory area. They even have a washing machine that you can use with an area to hang your washed clothes. I was skeptical at first as to how loud it might be considering you are sleeping in an area with possible 25 people right next to you. Amazing as to how quiet it really was. In fact, more quiet that most motels I have stayed in as maybe people were very conscious as to how close in proximity we were to one another. I still would suggest to bring ear plugs or ear buds as you might have someone in the area that is a loud snorer! This place was not in the center of town so it is about 2 km away. I personally walked it a couple times but also used uber and grab which are both readily available. Airport is only about 7 1/2 km away which only took 25 min which was during heavy traffic. The staff were incredible....friendly, very nice and helpful. Thank you Gary and Ray for helping me out.
- Mathis (10/5): Perfect hostel - Absolutely flawless this hostel. I don't usually do hostel, but did this before mount KK. Cheap airport pickup, best friendly service and staff, towels, bathroom facilities. Everything was just in order and ready for guests. Shared dorm with seperate and quite private and cousy, clean doublebed 'pods'. We brought own sleeping bag, otherwise they have blanket, I didn't use. Plenty of room for big luggage and you can lock it under bed. Breakfast is perfectly decent and free good coffee. I am lost for words of the benefits, professionalism, comfort and value you get for a very good price

The guy was a former IT guru who decided to return back to KK to help out other locals run a hostel. He spoke a bunch of languages and was a great person to chat with for an hour. Everyone on the staff was very knowledgeable and provided local tips. It was a fantastic place to stay during my expedition to Borneo to climb Kinabatu. I would highly recommend it to people on a budget who want an "upscale" hostel, but keep in mind that it is a hostel and not a hotel.
- Chohee (10/5): 최고 저렴! 가성비 최고! - 공항에서 조금 멀긴 하지만 굉장히 저렴하고 조식까지 뷔페식으로 나오고 스텝들이 다 친절해요:) 혼자 여행간건데 스텝들이 잘 챙겨줘서 고마웠고 시설 곳곳에 깨알같이 기분좋게 해주는 것들도 있어요. 전원주택이 많은 한적한 동네라서 여유롭게 산책하기 좋아요. 어떤 분 후기 보고 한국라면 가져다드렸는데 엄청 고마워하셨어요^^ 밤에 도착해서 하루 숙박하기에는 최고예요!
- Miyu (10/5): 100点のバックパッカー - バックパッカーを探してる方、絶対ここにするべきです。スタッフは全員とても親切で、空港送迎は片道30RMでした。部屋もシャワールームもとても清潔感があり、お湯もでます。ホテルからシティまでは車で15分ぐらいで、私は毎回Uberを利用しました。私は事前に自分でしましたが、現地ツアーの予約もできます。なによりもスタッフが本当に素晴らしい方達でした。文句なしの100点です。

- Doyoung (10/5): Nice hostel - Very clean, well-organised, and great hostel. The hostel itself is clean indeed and the staff is very kind. You can easily get to the town of Kota Kinabalu by bus. Its only 2 Myr. But there are not many places to go or walk around the hostel. (But some curry restaurants and super markets.)
- EUN MIN (10/5): 한마디로! 쾌적 친절 - 정말 스텝이 친절함! 매우 청결 깨끗함! 타운내에 있지않고 시외에 있어 조용하다! 타운내 호텔경우에 이리저리 이동은 쉬우나 대부분 낡았음!(이건 호텔스닷컴내 비교해보았던 호텔들을 직접 타운에서 많이 봄!) 벌레 많다고함!(요건 예약하려 비교하던중 후기에서 봄) 단 비싼곳은 매우 청결하다고함(요건 kk플라자안내스텝에게 들음) 시외에 있어 버스로 이동하는게 힘들수있으나 개인적으론 더 좋았음! 여행의 묘미! 현지인들 많이 보고 이런저런 경치구경이 쏠쏠하고 저렴(2링깃), 운전사말고 안내맨따로있는것도 신선! 저녁8시막차, 타운가려면 길건너 왼편바로보이는 정류장에서 타시고, 타운에서 호스텔로 돌아올땐 호스텔쪽 정류장인데. . 전 정류장이름생소해서 정류장에 부착된 정류장이름과 번호 적혀있는 표지판 사진찍어서 버스안내맨에게 보여주며 그곳도착하면 알려달라고하면 모두들 알려주시더라고요. 그리고 꼭 공항에서 선불유심칩사서 우버택시로 오세요! 전 비행기연착으로 새벽2시에 공항도착해서 공항택시로 왔는데. .75링깃이었어요! 호스텔스텝도 그 가격듣고 놀람! 물론 호스텔 픽업신청해도 되요30링깃에 해주심. 픽업30링깃하고 일정내내 버스로만 다려도 되지만 막차시간넘는 일정들이 있으면 우버택시가 쌈. 현지 택시는 정찰제로 비싼편이죠~글고 타운내에 순환버스(시내투어)버스도 있어요(0.5링깃) 또 알리커피나 마일로, 킷캣,카야잼 등은 타운내에서 젤 싸다고 소문난 kk플라자 지하마트보다 호스텔 옆에 있는 99슈퍼가 더 싸요T.T 전 kk마트서 무겁게 사서들고 버스까지 타고 오느라 지쳐서 하루 날렸는데, 호스텔옆 슈퍼가 더싸서 넘 슬펐어요. . 단, 단점은 침대칸막이 나무(벽)이라서 옆자리 소리가 신경쓰일수도 있으나 도미토리는 어쩔 수 없음을 고려해야할듯! 원래 후기 않쓰는 여자인 내가 이렇게 열심히 쓴 이유는 2가지^^ 1. 후기남기신 훌륭한분들덕분에 좋은 곳예약해서 그 은혜 나누려고! 2. 요거 보시고 이곳예약하실 한국인께선 요글이 쬐끔이라도 도움이 되셨다면.. 그곳의 안내데스크스텝. .프리셀라에게 한국라면(봉지) 좀 선물해주셨으면 해요! 그녀가 무척 유쾌하고 친절한데.. 한국라면좋아하나 거기선 넘 비싸다메. .슬퍼하더라구요^^;담에 갈때 선물해주기로 했으나,언제 다시 갈 수있을지^^; 참고로, 타운에서 공항가는 버스는 5링깃, 오후7시가 막차~정류장은 호스텔에서 타운으로 갔을때 모두내리는 버스들 종점정류장에서 5미터? 정도 바로 옆에 있어요~ 그리고 제주공항이용하시는 분은 제주공항라운지가 와리산스퀘어옆 스타벅스 2층에 있어요! 전 체크아웃후 이곳에 무료로 짐맡기고 무료로 공항까지 데려다주셨음~공항가는건 사전에,최소 당일 오후5시전까지 미리 신청하면, 해당일 저녁9시40분에 데려다줌! 요건 홈피에서 확인해보시길~ 와리산스퀘어 맛사지샾 주인은 모두 중국계현지인^^;와리산은 모두 시설은 안좋으나 저렴히 오래 받을수있음. 환전은 센터포인트가 한국보다 쌈. 섬투어 및 스노쿨링같은건 워터프론트근처 서성이는분들이 쌈.(직거래라서)워터프론트 썬셋추천!
