Guest Reviews
- Ashley (8/5): - Address they give you is wrong. There is also no elevator with all your luggage. Wouldn’t recommend this if you are elderly. The shower tub was very steep and not good for showering. My 75 year old mom could not get in.
TV only had about 3 stations to choose from and pillows were totally flat and only gave you one each. Room was big and spacious so that was nice.
- MARY (8/5): - Dated but clean and convenient. Helpful staff
- Alan (4/5): - Location was excellent
- Sharon (8/5): - Once inside very nice, amazing view. We were in Ca’ Rialto which is the guest house and I guess a different building than Rialto Hotel. The alleyway to get from main building to Ca’ Rialto was sketchy with shady ladies and dudes hanging around. Very convenient location. vaporetto and alilaguna right outside. Staff nice and accommodating.
- Kimberly (10/5): - This is part of Hotel Rialto. The rooms are in the back. Ask for room 501 to have the most amazing view of canal and Rialto Bridge from the windows. There is shopping, food, water taxis, water bus and gondolas right out the front. Amazing location. Staff was so kind and helpful!!!
No elevator access to the rooms. One flight of stairs.
- Réjean (8/5): - Viellot, accès compliqué, on doit s'enregistrer au Rialto Hotel et non au Ca'Rialto.
- Dylan (10/5): - I felt safe in my room, it was behind two locked doors. Rooms looked elegant. Loved that They had A/C and spoke English.
- Valerie (8/5): - This property is part of the Hotel Rialto and that is where you check in. Beware the link from Expedia as it is to the actual annex and not where you check in. We liked the room and the Hotel staff took our bag up and down the stairs which would be a problem if you have mobility issues. No view, but quiet and spacious, as well as being close to the water bus and the Rialto Bridge.
- Grace (8/5): - Amazing location right at the foot of the Rialto Bridge. Rooms are very spacious and very traditionally decorated. Not easy to find hotel as pin provided by Expedia was quite off for reception but accurate for room assigned. So conveniently located in front of ferry stop. Lots of stairs for our room although it seems some rooms have elevator access. Breakfast was excellent and very comprehensive.
- Min kyu (8/5): - great location
- Monf (4/5): - the hotel smells like dump and both me and my wife got sick (allergies) becuase the smell of cigarette are sipping in our room
- Connor (10/5): Excellent hotel, great service, no better location - The hotel was incredibly easy to find, check-in was smooth and the bell-boy was lovely. The room view was not as expected, but the fact that we were so incredibly close to the Rialto bridge made up for it. The location was very advantageous. Excellent room, in antiquity-style. Very Venice, very lovely.
- Levi (8/5): Recommended - It is definitely in a very good location. Fun stay, clean, and accessible to practically everything you need. The one and only problem is your access to room. Not the easiest task but staff will be there to help.
- James (6/5): - For the new traveller the term "Ca' " maybe confusing . The Ca' for Italy is a classification that denotes "house or residence", owned by the 'Main Hotel', not the hotel proper. In North American terms we would note it as "other or adjacent" building. In review of the travel website we used this was definitely not made clear in the promotion of the hotel. Upon arrival at the Rialto Hotel we were informed we were in the 'other' building and were escorted into two back alley ways (comically 'streets' in Venice) and then taken to a non-descript door and let inside. We entered a converted home or apartment from earlier times. We first noted that there was no elevator, our room was on the second floor. We had to climb a single stair of 33 steps, then a winding small hallway to our room. The room was a good size, very clean and fitted out in a classical renaissance style, very quaint. But the curtains did not allow you to open the windows to open the shutters, so basically the room was windowless. The bathroom was large but had a very percarious tub/shower combo, that respectfully, would challenge the elderly, disabled or large traveller. There is no on-site security only an intercom to the front desk in the other building. We are very well healed, physically fit, backpacking early 60's travellers, who have experience in these situations and we were very fine with our stay. But this is not the Holiday Inn/Best Western model of stay. So do your homework re 'Ca'. Hope this helped.
- Campbell (10/5): - Amazing location, staff very helpful
- ???? (10/5): - The stuff was nice and the room was clean, it was very very close to the main bridge in Venice and a lot of things to do around, we didn’t even need to walk much to each attraction and it was very comfortable
- HARSH (8/5): - Excellent Location! Right beside the St.Marco bridge. Close to eateries, very convenient location but crowded.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Staff was friendly the rooms are behind main hotel very quiet away from the noise of the crowds on main street.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Very nice facility located steps from Rialto Bridge, so very convenient for tourist attractions. Room was large and roomy. Bathroom was a little awkwardly arranged, but filled its purpose just fine. Room smelled a little musty, but we very much enjoyed our stay.
- Aman (2/5): Superb location and staff but room had issues - This review is for CA Rialto house and not the hotel itself. We booked this room but we were not aware that we are booking the annexure. Our room was behind the hotel in a very dirty alley. Room was as pictured but had issues like it was very noisy, had mosquitoes in it. The hair dryer was broken and turned on automatically throughout the night. Basic necessities like kettle, cups were not provided but had to be requested then they sent. It had steep stairs to walk upstairs. No lift for the annexure. We did not try breakfast. We did not enjoy our stay in the room. However, the location was really good. It was just on the edge of Rialto bridge so you dont have to go anywhere to enjoy the city. Reception staff and other staff were very nice and friendly and they did their best to make us feel comfortable.
- Artur (4/5): - Just go to Rome guys.
- Samuel (10/5): Nice place near great attractions - This was a nice room in quick walking distance of some of the best sites in Venice. However, there were steep stairs to climb to our room/floor, so it might not be for everyone.
- Michelle (10/5): - Location is good
- Laura (10/5): - Great location! Staff was very friendly! Nice size room.
- Julia (6/5): - I would have loved to have given a higher rating for this hotel, because my initial impression was very positive. However, a couple things tipped the scales at the end.
Value: This hotel is very conveniently located and easy to find as far as Venice goes. You check in at the Hotel Rialto front desk which is right beside the Rialto bridge. We chose this hotel for the location and relative price in this very touristy area. However, once we arrived, we realized that nothing is far away in Venice. To reach better quality and better priced restaurants and to avoid the crowds, we would walk 5-10 minutes away from the hotel anyway. So in hindsight, we could have gotten a nicer hotel in the type of neighborhood where we actually ended up spending our time. Breakfast here was also not included, but you could get it for 20 euros each. While convenient, you can get a coffee and pastry at most caffes in Venice for under 10 euros (usually only 10 euros for two). I found the quality and selection at the hotel breakfast also sub-par.
Cleanliness: One big thing was wrong here, the bottles and cans in the mini bar clearly aren't changed regularly, because there was mold on them... We weren't planning on eating or drinking anything anyway, but this really should never happen. It brought into question everything else.
Overall, very prompt and friendly staff, centrally located, and reasonably equipped room. But you will find better value outside of the St. Marks district for a lower cost.
- Miranda (10/5): Love this hotel - Wonderful location and amazing staff — highly recommend!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Had two windows on the Gran Canal.
- Jaclyn (8/5): - I presume because we booked with Expedia we were not treated as a “real guest” we checked in at the Hotel Rialto but were walked out the side door made a couple turns in an alley to a different building where we walked up a bunch of stairs (no elevator in this building) and we stayed in a room as pictured. The tone was definitely different you could tell after watching a few regular guests check in and out. I would not stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, very nice room and helpful staff, breakfast excellent too
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Access from the airport water bus. Good central location. friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic location. Less than 10 minutes from St. Marks Square. Literally right next to the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal. Easy check in, easy check out. Held our bags so we could explore the day we left.
Very happy with our stay overall.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very unclean, bad buffet breakfast - Great location but Shower/bath didn’t work and took forever to get fixed even after knowing had flown from Australia and hadn’t showered in 48 hours, room smelt really badly of mould and caused an asthma attack in one family member. Staff were polite but not very helpful and lazy. Buffet breakfast was terrible. All hot food was cold and even when cooked freshly the scrambled eggs were barely warm.
- Timothy (8/5): Typical of Western Europe - We had a little difficulty finding the Hotel due to Google Maps inaccuracy. Once found, the staff was delightful. It is a wonderful location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was clean, but the stairway was not. The room ios not nearly as luxurious as pictured and the area is incredibly congested.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is key here, right beside the Rialto bridge. Restaurants all around and short walk to the centre. I was a little disappointed there was no window in the room so it was very dark - perhaps I should have done a little more research on the room itself. The room itself was small and the bathroom really small. We were only there for 2 nights so it served it’s purpose. On the day we were checking out we found an extremely large bug climbing the wall. With that being said we were only in the room to sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a super unique property with vintage charm! The location was excellent as it is right near the Rialto Bridge and you can walk basically everywhere! They also upgraded my room at no charge which was great!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Convenient location at Rialto Bridge. It is busy in front of the hotel, but interesting to watch all of the activity at the dock while eating breakfast. Our room faced an alley and was quiet. The breakfast is quite good, the room was really clean and cleaned well, but the bedspread and blanket were old and worn out. Not sure what's up with that.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were amazing. So helpful with recommendations.
The room was perfect for our needs, done in Venetian style. Would highly recommend the location as it’s a short walk to all main attractions & literally right by Rialto Bridge. Bathroom was a little small but definitely manageable. Overall very satisfied with my stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): No lift to rooms. Very spacious rooms. - Check in is at Hotel Rialto. Ca'Rialto House is located down a back alleyway behind the hotel. No lift to first floor where room was located. Very spacious room though and located right at Rialto bridge and ferry stop. Short walk to San Marco area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location was amazing, the staff were extremely helpful and the room was spacious and clean.
It was well worth the money spent.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Mosquito infested rooms.
Shower with mold.
Very disappointed that I spent 300 for a room here.
- Chantal (10/5): - Amazing and wonderful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Gluten Free catered for - Had a comfortable stay in a uniquely Venetian room. Nice and quiet and clean, has everything you need. Good location.
Breakfasts were an array of hot and cold buffet and gluten free is catered for generously.
Help with getting to tourist office would have been handy but overall a great choice to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was one of the biggest rooms/bathrooms we had during our whole stay in Italy, which was great. Awesome location right next to the Rialto stop and can walk to many places. They carried our bags over to the other hotel for us after checking in at the main hotel which I thought was great. Breakfast was pretty good too. They also offer a free water taxi excursion to Murano, which we loved. You are responsible for getting back on your own, but I highly suggest taking advantage of this. The only down side was there seemed to have been some mosquitoes in our room and I also noted them in the hotel lobby. I woke up with moaquito bites everywhere. Other than that I highly reccomend staying here !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location, room, and breakfast were amazing! We were in room 501 and it had a great view of the grand canal and Rialto bridge. The room is exactly as pictured with extravagant touches such as brocade wallpaper and beautiful drapery. This room makes you feel like you are experiencing the true Venice. The breakfast is really, really good. It's a huge spread of hot food like eggs & meats, and pastries, yogurt, and fruit. I recommend loading up on breakfast because the food in Venice is VERY expensive! The staff was very attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend Ca' Rialto House, and if we ever go back, we would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were efficient but not too friendly
Lack of facilities for relaxing on the premises, no bar or coffee/tea facilities
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Could do with some redecorating in bedrooms. Bathroom very small no room between toilet and shower cubicle. Shower cubicle did not fit the base properly so water went all over the floor. Comfortable bed shame about the mosquitoes in March !!! No hot drink facilities in the rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great breakfast, clean facility, easy accessibility by public transport
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location was excellent, service was very good, friendly and helpful, they even took us to our room, breakfast was very good, the scenic roof terrace wasn't that scenic, however it's a very nice touch to the experience, would definitely go back and highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel and location - Great hotel and great location. Right next to the Rialto bridge and close to everything.
- Abdulmohsen (2/5): - Nothing at all, when I arrived there I show the receptionist my booking the receptionist say “ don’t imagine you will get same this pictures “!!
Not same what you see in the Pictures in website of expedia !
I got small room like a jail 2*3 no place I can sit “ all the room was bed “ in addition to very bad view
- Cary (8/5): - Great location on the Grand Canal. Lots of stairs. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great price right in the heart of Venice - A lovely room with a sneaky balcony...lots of stairs but great location right under the Rialto bridge. Fabulous service by staff, the guys on the front desk are always smiling, the ladies in the kitchen generous and everyone polite.
- Parwiz (6/5): Close to the bridge, however ....... - The room was extremely and it wasn't like the picture shown on the website.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A nice option on a step from Rialto brigge - This place is actually part of Rialto hotel / but cheaper option for during the busy weekend/-the check in is at the reception of Rialto hotel, so and the breakfast. The style and the future are equal. Just in this one you don’t have the option with the view of Grand Canal.
The shower cabin was even smaller but it is something to be expected. The bed was comfortable but not the quilts and the pillows. Everything was clean and check in - fast.
The breakfast was nice too- fresh fruit, cereals, fresh bread, croissants, warm option- eggs, omelet and bacon; European breakfast and choice of Americano, tea, espresso and hot chocolate.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent place and centrally located - Central to all sights and special mentions for breakfast which was really good.
- l (8/5): We upgraded from house to hotel - Our Rialto house room was clean, it was small and heavily used . We enjoy a certain amount of "down time" and the rialto house room was too closed in to enjoy that. We upgraded to a room in the hotel which was worth every penny if you can fit it in to your budget
- Henna (6/5): Average hotel - The furniture was really old, mirror was full of dust so was hard to put my make up on with a mirror full of dust. Room service was good, each time we left the room they made it up for us, hotel staff really helpful. Room did not look exactly like the pic
- dan (8/5): Great hotel - Myself and my wife had a fantastic time in Venice and the hotel had a huge part to play. It was clean, comfortable, friendly staff but has a brilliant location. We walked from train station and took about 20mins which was great. You a close to a lot of attractions. Would visit again and 100% recommend
- William (10/5): 5 stars - At the Rialto Bridge!! Nice Hotel. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Location made all the difference. Water taxi dropped us at front door!
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK Hotel - The hotel was OK. No real praise, no real complaints except one, the room was SMALL.
- Verified traveler (2/5): DISSAPOINTED - Me and my friend booked this hotel at the same day and same price but the room they got is so much bigger than mine. I need to move the dressing chair in order for me to open the door to get in. Plus the porter is always showing his grumpy face when he shows us to the room and when we need to put our luggage in the luggage room after check out.
- Sathya (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - Beautiful room/area! The address given was for the actual room and not the hotel reception, so you have to go to the main desk at the Rialto hotel when you check in. Super cute area. It was safe and in the middle of the happening places. The room was small, clean, and very beautifully decorated. It was a nice mix of modern amenities hidden into classic décor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ca' Rialto house was located a little way from the Rialto House hotel where we checked in. Upon arrival, I was concerned I would leave the unmarked door of Ca' Rialto House and never find it again. Once we got our bearings, the location was wonderful and centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Our room overlooked the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Staff was friendly. Breakfast at the hotel was good.
- Robert (8/5): Fantastic location - Amazing
- travelkat (8/5): Old Venice post Cruise hotel - Great location in front of the Rialto Bridge, good restaurant and very helpful staff. Room is not in main hotel, but across a back lane. Only drawback was the property had no elevator and had to climb at least 40 steep stairs to get to room. Would not recommend for those that have triuble walking, and managing steep stairs with cases. Thank goodness for the Bell hop. Room was traditional and pleasant, with no view, but was a perfect location for sightseeing for a day after a cruise.
- Louise (8/5): Convenient hotel - Venice is a wonderful city and the hotel was perfectly situated next to the Rialto bridge which is incredibly central for all the sites, but also very convenient for transport links.
Big room with comfortable bed and nice decor. Bathroom was a bit small in comparison but shower was good. No view but there is one at breakfast - you're right on the canal. Fun to watch the loading and unloading of the boats and Venice starting its day. The annex location involves quite steep stairs and these are a bit unappealing and could do with a bit of improvement to come into line with the rooms. But of course you are not spending any time in the stair!
- Verified traveler (10/5): great hotel and wonderful location - Had a great experience at this hotel. Room was clean and staff was fabulous. The location was perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolutely perfect location - Location easy to find after getting lost in Venice streets as well as being close to the boat stops. Hotel staff very nice and helpful even after very delayed flight. Decent breakfast, even the cheap annex rooms were comfortable
- Gary (4/5): 34 steps to climb every day - Had to go down the alley to the Hotel to get ice
Checkout staff guy tried to get us for an extra 8 Euros. He said we owed 23 Euros for local tax then quickly changed it to 15 Euros when I asked for a receipt. I wouldn't stay here again.
- Carole (6/5): Location is fantastic. - This is a guest house attached to Hotel Rialto, hence you use the Hotel Rialto facilities i.e. Breakfast, dining etc. Location is fantastic. It is right in the centre of everything so you can walk to the vast majority of things, the rest is by water which is out the front. Guest house is well maintained but the room we had was tiny. Clean and well kept and bathroom was great. Private entrance in the back lane way from the hotel. As we only spent minimal time in the room, it was fine for us. It was a good price for the busiest period and it was about the location.
- Bradley (10/5): Will Stay There Again - Excellent location with old world charm
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Decision for VENICE - Rooms were bigger than expected clean and the I have no words for the JETTED SHOWER....Everything was a 5 minutes walk away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small hotel with great location - We weren't so sure about the building. But Our room was just fabulous. The location is just a few step away from the Rialto "water bus" station. The breakfast was subpar. But the location n the room deco (very Venetian) were more than make up for this.
- Brett (8/5): Location, Location, Location - Great location in the heart of Venice...
- LB and LG (2/5): Not so nice.... - The bed was terrible, the staff was not very friendly or helpful. The room was located out and away from hotel, felt as if you were not a hotel guest... More like a bother. The only positive is that it is a good central location.
- Christina (6/5): good location old hotel - The hotel was very old school however great location.
- Timothy (8/5): Dont have a Hotflash in Italy before May 1!!! - A/C apparently cannot be cut on till May 1,according to mgmt this is a law or some BS was 82 degrees and on a top floor so was very Hot. Nice looking Hotel and location was Great
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect location, comfortable stay. - Right in front of the Rialto vaporetto stop. Extremely easy to get to by vaporetto. Great location. Room was very comfortable but couldn't figure out how to use the A/C. Wasn't really needed though for our trip. We had a fabulous view of the Grand Canal.
- P&A Young (10/5): Fantastic central hotel with large rooms - Fantastic Hotel. Room 506 was very large. Great breakfast - All meats were tasty with a good choice of breakfast including Prosecco.
Rialto House is on an alley just off the main street. very convenient with access to rear of hotel from Alley.
Unfortunately some people during Saturday/eve seemed to use it as a toilet and the smell was terrible by the time we left on Monday. No effort to wash this down was made which would have helped. It did look that this washing down had been done in the Hotel court yard however.
Did not affect stay or room though!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The best thing about this place was the location. You check in at the Rialto Hotel and they will show you where it is - on an alleyway nearby. There are high stairs going up to the rooms, so make sure you're not bringing too many things when staying at Ca'Rialto House. The room has PLENTY of space and was warm and comfortable in the winter. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the wi-fi was very slow.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great position - great position, nice staff
- Paul (10/5): Highly recommend - Great location, great breakfast, helpful and responsive staff. Don't be afraid to stay in the offsite rooms - just a quick walk from main hotel and we had an amazing view of the Grand Canal from our room, #501. Highly recommend.
- Jennifer (10/5): Location!! - Location, location, location!!! Was great! We were right on the water and next to one of the famous bridges in this city. Everything is within walking distance. Cool place!
- Ariel (8/5): Pleasant Hotel in Ideal Location - Great location and very pleasant hotel. The staff was very friendly. The little alleyway to the hotel was a bit creepy though! The restaurant out in front was delicious and right by the canal.
