- Peter (2/5): - Shortly after checkin we were asked to switch rooms due to an error disrupting our plans. Later loud cleaning upstairs lasted hours preventing rest. In the morning the shower lacked basic amenities.

- Cindy (2/5): Horrible - Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Beyond dirty, their washing machine broke so there were no clean sheets. Management is never in the office and doesn’t answer the phone when you need something. Located next to a route bar with druggies. Run down rooms and extremely basic.

- Kevin (10/5): Quick Overnight - Quick trip to big bear area to see the mountains. Nice cabin comfortable bed and clean. The cabin had a kitchen and if we were staying longer it would have been very comfortable. This place is an hour away from Big Bear Lake but very close to Arrowhead Lake.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not for me again - This wasnt the best or worse experience. But i doubt i will stay here again. This place is outdated and not kept. The location is good but unfortunately they didnt provide basic necessitates like clean sheets, towels, floor, sofabed, blankets or working lights. The parking was a little tight but closeby. We had a private yard, only one tv and a kitchen.

- Brandy (4/5): - The $45 resort extra charge was a little surprising. Witn no screen on the bathroom window, no tilt wand on the only blind, no staff to purchase the gel to use in the fireplace, no room phone, dirty shower curtain, and holes in sheets, I'd have to say this is no resort.

- Robert (2/5): - When we went to check in, the manager could not be found, so the maintenance worker tried to help us. (Although, he tried to charge us and told us we did not pay, until it was proven we paid in full!) I was given a key, straight out of the workers bra, yes, you heard that right... gross!!! These are not key card, but old fashion keys and told, the lock does not work right but just jiggle it. My wife, twin boys, and daughter were sitting in the car and witnessed people passing a crack pipe around. So, we immediately left and did NOT stay there and contacted Expedia immediately. Although we did not get our money back, I called family members and friends and suggested everyone change their hotels. (We had a family wedding of 150 people up in Crestline!) Thankfully, many were able to switch to different hotels. We have stayed at Sleepy Hollow before and found it clean and quaint... we are very saddened at how bad this property has changed.
- Eric (6/5): - Good price for the condition of the hotel. Slightly noisy at night and the blinds in the hotel don't block out much light. Also they have fluorescent lights on all night for some reason. Hotel looks a little older but overall it's fairly clean and service is average. Would stay here again for a night

- Jeevan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. The room was spacious and very clean and tidy. You can walk to everything. Check in and out was a breeze.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here - We will never stay here again. I could look past the pool area not so clean and half the lights not working in our room but the arguing and partying in the parking lot was unacceptable. Hubby & i were woken up by arguing and then continued partying right outside our room. We had 2 children sleeping within earshot of drinking, cursing amd who knows what else. Really trashy people hanging out everywhere after 11pm.
- Eleanor (8/5): - Keeping in mind that we were in a small mountain community, there was not a expectation of luxury or modern amenities. That being said, the facilities were quaint and clean. The TV didn't work at all though. Bruce (at the front desk) was very friendly and helpful. The A/C unit was a bit too noisy. We ate at the nearby diner (which was good) but along the short walk there, the area was dirty, with quite a bit of dog poop piles that we had to avoid. Overall, it was a nice place to stay while in Crestline. I'd stay there again for a night or two and recommend it to others who are going there and need a short-term place. If I had to stay longer than one or two nights, I'd probably try to find a short-term rental instead so that I would have a kitchen to utilize so as not to have to eat out every meal.

- Alison (10/5): Beat the heat - No frills cabin in heart of Crestline. Perfect location to walk to stores, dinner, grocery store and bar. Pool was clean and refreshing. Plenty of space for our pup in cabin.

- Adam (6/5): Fine, But Not Right for Us - We had a good experience overall, and this is the second time that we've stayed here. The staff were nice, and we requested an upgrade, which we were given. The location is within a short walking distance from Lake Gregory, right next to the market and other businesses like restaurants and bars. The guests sit outside their cabins on beach chairs drinking and talking into the wee hours, which was disruptive to sleep. The cabins are tightly clustered, and don't afford a lot of privacy. The property is not pristine in condition: missing moldings, cracked plate covers in a couple of rooms, and peeling paint on the office building. We love Crestline, and we will be back, and this may be a great place for others, but we will look elsewhere for more private lodgings.
- Christina (8/5): - It was definitely cost effective. It was located by multiple good restaurants and was very close to the lake. They have very strict dog rules. Not sure if they are really enforced as another guest had his dog roaming the parking lot during out entire stay. Dogs cannot be left alone in your room at any point (even in a kennel). This made it impossible for us to us the pool as our dog had to always be with us but was not allowed in the pool area. Not the end of the world, but it was a little disappointing. Our biggest issue was that the door to our room was incredibly hard to unlock.

It was obvious that they had been recently used. Other than that...pool is ok. Many stores and restaurants near by. We had a GREAT steak dinner at The Grill.

However, there was no futons as shown on the pictures; instead it had old sofa beds that didn't work too well. The extra sheets in the closet were found on top of a bunch of unfolded mound of bedding which makes one question if they were already used & the blanket in the closet had a big stain on it. The pool water was green & mirky. The spa water looked better but had algae in several areas so we did Not use either of them....

The staff was friendly and available for the most part. Had a small toilet issue late in the evening which attended to as best as could be under the circumstances. I would definitely stay there again!

- Jose (2/5): Worst stay ever - We were given room 3 when we checked in. We went out and returned around 1:30am and when we tried to go into our room there was another couple inside. We went to the front desk and waited almost an hour after Bruce went into other rooms to find an empty. He opened up rooms with other guest inside just to get an answer and us into another room, that was not what we originally booked. This was the worst experience we encountered on a hotel stay. No keys were provided and when I went to check out in the morning, Bruce said it was our fault as his system had staying the following day. I provided him with my confirmation # proving the date was indeed correct on my end and told him that if that was the case why would he give me keys to room 3.

A getaways from our work routings turned out to a nightmare. Its was expensive to be just stuck in a hot room.

I booked a little getaway with my daughter and my grandchild, we were assigned a room with a broken tub floor, no hot water in the shower or cold water in the sink, no coffee maker or cups, cheap outdated windows that you can hat all the noise from the road. In the sink we had hot water and hotter but not cold. I talked to the woman in the office and based on the conversation we had they were fully aware of the water issues and they didn’t care at all. The tub floor extremely damaged and they couldn’t afford a tub mat, they put a cheap red piece of liner, the one you buy at the dollar store, to cover the damage. When I moved it I found hair. After I complained they put us in a different room with a TV not working, the TV stayed on all the time, no way to turn it off with the remote control and the volume button was not working as well, we couldn’t watch TV because it was too loud and I had to unplug it to turn it off, no security lock on the door, no wand to close the blinds, I had to take it from the room next door. The housekeeper was aware of this and she talked to the maintenance guy. She came back saying he was fixing the door lock and the TV but he never showed up. I went to talk to him and he said he was busy but he’ll do it after he finishes what he was doing, he didn’t do it at all, period. He was aware of the problems because he said he was replacing the TV, then he said he had to reprogram the remote control, nothing was done. I want my money back
- Cathy (8/5): - We only stayed 2 nights and to he honest didn’t spend much time there. The place was worn, but clean. Television didn’t work, but we didn’t miss it. The bed was very comfortable, which to us is very important. We were only visiting for a funeral, so have no plans to return. All the local business people we interacted with were all very friendly. Surrounding area was beautiful.
- Gilbert (6/5): OK place to rest - We just slept there and watched a little TV. The floor was dirty especially under the beds and there were ants coming from the shower drain. The beds were comfortable. Woke up early and went other places. NOT much to see in town. We walked the town the first day. Did not go to lake Gregory. Spent two days in Big Bear and came back to Sleepy Hollow for the night. NO bites at the hotel or the Long hikes.
- Theodore (4/5): - The night manager was the best part of the entire experience. He was extremely pleasant. 1 out of 4 bulbs worked in the chandelier. Broken outlet covers, tile that didnt meet the side of the tub, oddly placed television, all added to a unique experience i cant really recommend. Again the manager was great. We arrived after 7 pm and truth be told i fought the urge to just leave once we got in the room. If it had been earlier i likely would have. The bed was comfortable was the highlight.

- Scott (8/5): Beautiful and Cozy - This was a great place to stay by myself. The staff was extremely nice and were ready with anything I may have asked for. The manager was such a nice person and made check in very easy. The room was very nice I loved the cozy cabin feel on the inside. I only have 2 issues with the room, the shower head was VERY low I'm not very tall and it was still to my chest. The other was the TV was small and very high up making it hard to see when laying in the bed. However I would definitely stay here again as the manager who was running it won me over with her personality.

- Reid (10/5): - My wife and I were looking for a 1 night easy getaway from Los Angeles and had never been to Crestline so we did a quick search on lodging a few days in advance of the trip and chose the Grey Squirrel cabin at Sleepy Hollow. We didn't really go into it with any expectations but were very satisfied with our experience. The property is very charming and the staff friendly. The location is excellent and very near to the lake which has a nice hiking trail around it. if you walk up the main road in the other direction you are right in town with cute shops, a few fun old bars, and a bowling alley, which we throughly enjoyed. The cabin was clean and perfect for our needs with a small kitchen and living area, working fireplace, comfortable bed, and a deck off the bedroom overlooking a babbling creek. Would definitely stay here again.
- Toby (4/5): - Reserved a 2 bedroom cabin and they gave us a 1 bedroom without telling us of the change. Had to wait awhile before they helped us at the front office and finally said they were going to refund us the difference of the smaller cabin, but really did not. Expedia had to call property to get us a refund. Cabin was smelly and dirty. Not enough parking and had a hard time getting out.

- Christian (4/5): - First, we had to wait two hours past check in, probably because the unit was filthy even after we got access (I'll attach photos if I can). Some people appear to be living in the attached rentals, so doors were casually open with liquor, beer bottles, and trash scattered around the property. Laundry was hanging from the fence around the hot tub, which itself was green and looked filmy from a distance. Within the unit, cobwebs covered the celling and the sofa bed was thoroughly penetrated by mold and completely unusable. The TV cable could not reach the socket, so no TV as well. The general interior was a serious state of disrepair, with even door knobs incapable of turning. The level of dust and layered grime is hard to explain. It was difficult to have two children under ten stay there without feeling like we would have been better off camping in the snow.

They were nice enough to give us a space heater but it was not the same as having an actual heater. I reached out to them to see if I could at least get the room for cheaper than I paid since we did have some discomfort but they have not responded to any of my emails.

- Miri (8/5): Vintage but cute little affordable place. - We loved it. our stay was a last-minute thing, so we were very happy that we found a cute little cabin-like room with a reasonable price. I had a hard time trying to check-in in the beginning due to unanswered calls to the front desk (asked to call to check in). Once I got in, the front desk staff was very thoughtful and kind. This place located near all restaurants and the lake was literally 2 mins away (via car). My mom actually walked around the lake from our hotel room (whole lake is approx 2.3 mi) in the early morning. she said people who were walking around the lake were nice and the walk was safe & easy. The only thing I wish they could do better is, the bed. When I laid down, my head sat lower than my feet. >..<

- Emory (2/5): - This property is awful. Online check in says 2pm, it really isn’t until 3pm. We arrived at 2:30, cleaning lady started cleaning. Upon finishing, sheets and mattresses were filthy (I took pictures) there were no amenities not even soap!! Area surrounding wreaked like marijuana and cigarette smoke. My kids and I left to be with family, when we came back there was no parking, several cars all around were blocking other cars so I parked near our cabin. The heater did not work and even though someone brought firewood, which was nice, the experience was awful and I did not feel safe. How were we going to sleep having a fire on all night? We were asked to move our car at 1am, but no other cars were asked to move. I pad a $39 resort fee to have no close parking and no amenities. We left at 1am and did not stay.
- ROY (4/5): - It seems like they have remodeld interior recently, however, the floor was so dirty and other desk lamps including a mini fridge were very old. We stayed there 2 nights wirhout any house keeping services. My wife had to ask for extra shampoo/soaps and towels etc... I've notified the front dest lady that the hair dryer was broken, but she didn't replace it. No phone was available in the room; you have to call other cell number to reach the front desk.

At about 9am, some water came down from the ceiling and later became a waterfall in minutes. I called the management right away and heard "oh, shxx." No one came to my room within one hour. - Alexander (10/5): Home away from home. - This was a great stay, especially the Lazy Owl Cabin. Well enough room for my family. I can bring my dogs next time. It had a private back yard. Everything is nearby, such as restaurants, stores, and Gregory Lake. All walking distance. Definitely came back to this place. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

- Anna (6/5): Not great , - Front office and staff were very kind. The room smelled like cigarettes even though it’s a non- smoking room. Could be the fireplace but smelled more like cigarettes. Sofa/pull out bed looked gross. Both beds were incredible uncomfortable in Pine Hut. The other rooms in the hotel looked nice- I think there is a reason there in no picture for pine hut. Walkable to pizza place. Again, great people working there. The place was cleaned appropriately.
- Fran (6/5): - I booked a room with one king and one double. Overall, it was good for the price. I was grateful not to have experienced what others have put on their reviews. There is nothing like a door that doesn't lock or a toilet that doesn't flush. Everything was in good condition. We had a good sleep. There are small cabins. I might try them next time because we plan to go back to enjoy the lake which is just within walking distance. There isn't much to do within the property (mainly for spending the night). I saw a pool with dirty water that might have been stagnant for sometime - quite an eyesore. Perhaps they can put a removable pool cover. There was only one staff managing the front ofc and usually out working around the property so the ofc is locked except during the check-in time at 3pm. I had to crop the key at a box upon check out at 11am because the ofc is locked. We usually clean up before we check out but we had to make sure our room is in order because policy indicates $50 cleaning fee if guests don't clean up and we had to put up $100 deposit at check-in per policy. I only put 3 stars for ok because it is not easy to reach the front ofc by phone or in-person. Some of us arrived around 2pm and the ofc was locked and no one was answering our phone calls. At check-out, the ofc was locked and I had questions but the staff who answered my call seemed to be too busy. Hope they can have a dedicated front ofc staff who can answer calls and inquiries.
- Kelly (2/5): Double booked room and smelled like fish - Horrible experience. First the guy ("manager" who is actually maintenance) put someone else that they apparently knew with 4 dogs in my room that I booked months ago, so they had to put me in another one when I checked in Friday evening. His excuse was Expedia and all the sites were double booking which was a total lie. He knew what he did and blamed someone else. I was told those people would be out early morning and I could have the room I booked since I also couldn't stay in the temporary one they had put me in because it was booked Saturday. I left that room around 9am and it had already started being cleaned, (thank god I took my stuff with me, because someone else was already in there, checkout is 11) so I had nowhere to go. (We had 4 people) The lady and 4 dogs refused to leave the room that I had booked months ago. They didn't try very hard to get her out and the guy that caused this mess left and didn't come back to deal with the mess he made. At 12pm Saturday, I was told it just needs to be cleaned. That was not the case. The lady and 4 dogs refused to leave the room. I had to sit in my car for hours. Finally at 5pm (check in is 3pm) they were almost done cleaning that room. It was disgusting. Smelled like fish really really bad and the heater didn't work and looked like it had half torn off the wall. (It was 30*) I had no where else to go. Everything was booked up already. So I lost a whole day. I lost a whole day. $500+ wasted. The fish smell made us sick.

- Jim (4/5): Cute on the outside, not so good on the inside - The outside of the motel was nice, cozy looking andnicely kept. The room not so much. The wall A/C had a 1/4" to a 1" gap all around it allowing cool air to come in. The weather got to 43' at night. I actually stuffed toilet paper all around the A/C unti to keep the cold air out. The door had a 1/4" to 1/" gap at the bottom of the door. The heater did ot work. I told the font office about the issues and they brought me an electric heater (which did the job to keep the room comfortable). They brought me towel to lay across the bottom of the door, and there was no small trash can in the room. I just put all my trash on the floor under the sink. I kep my whitw socks on until bed time and when I went o take off my socks the bottoms were very dirty. So apparently they do notmop the floors. The staff and people were very nice but the room is not up to par and they need to address the issues I mentioned. They would have received the lowest rating possible but the staff was very good.
- Mary (4/5): - Staff was creepy. The carpenter had to check us in because the other staff was MIA. He was nice, but also seemed to be on something to keep up with his workload. They were working on a room next door to us and it kept us awake all night. Meanwhile, we were walking to our room one evening, and talking—not yelling, and some mysterious old woman in the staff room shh'd us. Shower was scolding hot or freezing cold. Curtains were broken, so the street lights kept us awake and the morning sun beat us into an early awakening. I think they just need an update on how they do things and clean out the staff. It clearly has history and a lot of potential.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent price:awful ambience - Gent who was managing the place was very nice and helpful. The cabin itself had large pieces of wall that had been patched but never sanded/ painted. Exterior lights on the inside and a fan in the bathroom that was so noisy it woke up my partner. Sadly connected to the light so I had no choice. The windows didn’t lock so that felt unsafe. The chain lock was broken off of the door and only a thumb latch was left to use to secure the door. No deadbolt.

The bed was tolerable. The town was shabby with not much to do. I should of stayed in Lake Arrowhead instead.

- audrey (10/5): - We booked the deluxe room and as soon as we walked in you could smell the cleanliness, we loved the fireplace (even though we didn't need to us it), and the beds were so comfy, we slept great. Check in was easy and we were treated friendly and felt welcome. The Crestline cafe was a short 2 minute walk were we had a delicious breakfast. We would definitley stay at this hotel again.
