- Emma (10/5): Wonderful in every way - Absolutely lovely place to stay! Every square inch was immaculately clean, the staff were all friendly and had great suggestions for local activities, breakfast was delicious, each room--guest rooms and common areas--were fun to explore. .. I truly can't think of a thing I would change. We also had fun making friends with Boo the cat, who lives next door and is a regular fixture in the parking lot. He is wary enough that cat-averse guests wouldn't need to go out of their way to avoid him, though. Even as a Clevelander, I'd never spent any time in Painesville or the surrounding communities. The beaches were beautiful, and there were more parks than we could've counted. Fairport Harbor had lots of cute shops, and the Fairport Harbor Creamery was good enough that we had no choice but to go two days in a row. If we were looking for another easy vacation spot, we'd happily go back in a heartbeat.

The only real issue, was that the room was very poorly soundproofed, and was situated next to the stairs to the third floor. Foot traffic from the stairs telegraphed into our room all night long. Ugh! Made it almost impossible to sleep. So, overall, decent hotel. Just don't rent anything on the second floor on the stair side of the hotel. We were in 203, quite possibly the worst room in the place. Third floor or non-stairway side on the second floor.

- Denise (10/5): - The Steele Mansion in Painesville, Oh was wonderful. All the staff was great. There are 15 rooms and each one is unique. They are decorated in 1800 style which is beautiful. The free breakfast is very good. There is so much to see in this mansion. Look it up and you will be amazed!

- Alison (10/5): - The Steele Mansion is a really special spot. I love its history and its genesis: it has its roots in the city's foundations and is linked with Lake Erie College across the street. Eventually it got sold, went into rentals, then vacancy. The owners have lovingly restored it from a shell to a gorgeous, pristine and comfortable place to stay.

The rooms are all furnished with period furniture and every need is anticipated! This has the advantage of old country charm and upgraded construction. - Michael (10/5): Why would u stay at a hotel chain with this option - We were visiting family and could stay at a cookie cutter hotel chain or at the Steele Mansion and the Steele Mansion was even less expensive! This Inn has tons of charm all while providing modern comfort. The included breakfast was good (scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes as well as cold options like cereal & yogurt). They have plenty of nice spaces for hanging out with family and we ordered carryout for dinner and ate it at the Inn with my family. There was a great bar to get drinks at and games to play while visiting. And the staff was the best. They clearly enjoyed their jobs and were very friendly. We will certainly be back.

The staff and owner both so kind. Heads up breakfast is in the basement. We assume 1st floor dining area. So we missed it thinking maybe during the week they don’t have it and realized after as we toured the property. our fault. Inn is near Fairport Harbor restaurant by the water which we enjoyed. Loved this stay.

- Erick (10/5): Historical Mansion Charm With Modern Comfort - Sometimes you may think, "I want to stay in an old, historical hotel, but I hate the idea of some old, musty room with old, questionable plumbing." Well this place is the best of both worlds. It's been remodeled, so it's got all the clean, new, fresh experience of a full 4 star hotel yet maintains the decor and history of the past few centuries. The free breakfast, the friendly and accommodating staff, and just the whole atmosphere are all top tier. I am definitely staying here again on my next visit.

- Heidi (8/5): Won’t find a friendlier staff - We just love this place, you will not find a nicer staff. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. It is extremely clean and quaint. The complimentary breakfast is fantastic. Our only complaint is that the mattress we slept on had a dip in the middle so wasn’t the most comfortable on the back. But we really cannot recommend this place enough.

We stayed here after visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was about a 30 minute drive from the Rock Hall. Great night.
