It had nice views of the mountain and all of the amenities we needed. The room was set up well for all of your winter gear as well. Everything was really great. Perhaps a couple bottles of water in the fridge would be nice.

Room was very small with minimal storage for clothing and gear and no floor mats to clean shoes inside or outside the room to minimize grit build up in the room. Beds were comfortable.

- seaward14 (10/5): Really nice stay! - We stayed in the king suite for a night recently and had a great experience - would definitely return. Check-in is completely self-serve - codes are provided in advance by email. The room was very clean and comfortable with lots of windows and a pleasant view of the town and surrounding hills. The bathroom was very spacious, also with a big window that opens. We appreciated the excellent air conditioning and the seating options (sofa with coffee table and a couple comfy chairs). There's a nice little fridge and real glasses/cups as well as coffee. The location is very central with easy parking right out front. We didn't experience any noise issues despite there being a show in the pub the night we were there. We also had dinner at the pub - nice staff and good food/drinks. Recommended!

- Patricia (10/5): I enjoyed every aspect of my experience at the Flying Steamshovel Inn! - The room was fresh and very well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the coffee was great. I visited the pub on two occasions and found the staff and food exceptional. I was concerned by the appearance of the building’s exterior. But when I walked in the door all my reservations disappeared. The room was exactly as presented in the online photos!
- Cotto (10/5): - Great location at the north end of the downtown area. Easy free parking on the street to the side. Straight forward virtual check in (room number/code emailed). Spacious, tasteful, well equipped and very clean room. Comfortable bed, good shower. Pub downstairs has friendly staff, great food and good hours. Digital keypad on the door was a bit unresponsive at first but worked with few vigorous taps. Bit of noise from the road in the morning, didn't trouble me but might some. AC unit worked well but was a little noisy.

Nice to have a fridge stocked with cream for my coffee (which was also provided) Having actual glass to drink out of was also nice. Plenty of towels for the capacity of the room! No accessible plugs near the bed. if there had been 4 we would have fought over the one small 2-cup pot of coffee (as a single person it was fine).

- Donald (8/5): A quick stop in Rossland - The king room was a corner unit and it was very clean and spacious. It is located about two blocks (up a hill for those walking!) from the Main Street with all the shops, restaurants and pubs. They have a great gastropub on the main floor which we enjoyed the food and cheer there during our stay. The check-in was all done “remotely” through an email with a room access code, so it was smooth and easy to follow. A heads up: the rooms are on the second floor, so you have to carry your luggage up a short set of stairs to access your room. We could actually hear some of the other rooms at times, so it is not overly soundproofed.

It was like all the support was missing in the middle section of 1 side. I slept? trying to avoid sinking into a hole. The mattress absolutely needs to be replaced.

I appreciated some of the high end fixtures in the room such as the taps, the lamp with charger, etc. Nice simple but cozy decor. I had a double room, and if anyone else was with me I would’ve appreciated the separation of beds (bathroom in between), that affords a little extra privacy compared to the two beds side-by-side. Nice layout and some very thoughtful details! Even though there is no “front desk” for the hotel, my communications with the staff in advance of my arrival were very kind and offers to help store my luggage until check in were very much appreciated. This is a great hotel, well located, good food … highly recommend!!

- Corinne (9/5): Gem in the centre of Rossland. - When you rock up to the Flying Steam Shovel building you double check that you have the right booking but the inside is EPIC. We stayed in a lovely spacious double room with bathroom; they provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner alongside a fridge and coffee machine. We also got food at the restaurant downstairs which was incredible. Really great quality and quantity and super friendly service. The rooms aren’t serviced every day but the day we arrived they were super clean and in great condition. The instructions were clear although it took us a little while to work out the key pad situation; you have to press the Yale button at the top first. The location is brilliant with the centre of town a two minute walk away and there is AC in the room to cool off in summer. Nothing

- Christien (9/5): Ryan and his wife have created a very welcoming place to stay when visiting Rossland and the fact that it is above one o - The renovated rooms are very well thought out and comfortable. Chic yet still remaining humble. Room 6 was designed in such a way that the bathroom placed in the middle of the room served as a divider between the 2 double beds providing privacy if wanted and at best separation from a noisy (snorer) partner. The air conditioner unit in room 6 although works well during the heat wave, requires a little tlc. It sounds like an uninsulated dishwasher from the 70’s.
