Guest Reviews
- Brent (8/5): - Friendly staff. Room clean. Value for money.
Nice restaurant Perhaps better quality cereals bread and coffee at breakfast. However the breakfast was perfectly adequate
- Hilary (9/5): Good stay made to feel welcome - Nice room very spacious. Staff very helpful
- Maxim (10/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Ideal spot for my commute. Great food, staff, and value for money. I’ll be back again. - This was a brilliant find as I needed to stay close to Wisbech college for a few days with work. Staff were great throughout. Cheerful, helpful and attentive. Food was excellent and the room I had was a truly pleasant surprise. Everything I needed for a local stay and a lovely roof terrace area for an evening sunshine pause too.
I will happily stay again and recommend. Nothing. This suited what I wanted perfectly.

- Chris (10/5): - Free WiFi - not on listing
- Kath (8/5): Very good location, clean and quiet. - Clean and quiet. Well-equipped and nicely furnished.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing. It was all fine.
- BILL (8/5): - The room. Getting on the various WiFi signals is tricky with different passwords and location availability. Also it was irritating to see that our payment was taken before arrival, because I was travelling with a colleague from another company and he wished to pay his own room.
- hollis (6/5): - shower was freezing cold
- Samantha (10/5): HIGHLY RECOMMENDED . - What a wonderful stay- was met by a lovely young lady who was very helpful. My room was clean and all I needed.
Dinner was outstanding - the same young lady told me about the Wednesday burger special which I had.
In the morning a very nice gentleman had prepared my table and I had a great breakfast.
Excellent all round. N/A

- Chris (2/5): Expected better - Pleasant staff in bar which where very welcoming. Cold room on entering radiator was turned off even though they knew what time we would be arriving. There was only a bedside cabinet and lamp on one side of the uncomfortable bed even though this was a deluxe double room, next morning my husband lifted the mattress to find a broken wooden slat! Dressing table was one side of room with the only mirror in the room being on the wall the opposite side of room. Although this room was a good size I fail to see how it can be classed as deluxe.
Breakfast Sunday morning was not what I expected, I had poached eggs on toast, the toast I had to make myself and the eggs had an overdose of vinegar! My husband had full English, streaky bacon is the cheapest cut you can get and what you would expect on a benidorm all-inclusive package holiday, this really let you down!
I have visited your establishment for many years and enjoyed many meals with you, but I do feel you let yourself down on this occasion!

- Jean hatter (8/5): - All nice Milk was off need more electric plugs need a fram for your suitcase need water
- Paul (8/5): Would stay again and also eat at the restaurant - The restaurant was really nice and served a good variety of food. The standard of food was excellent.
Breakfast was also good.
The rooms were quite small but adequate for a 1 night visit.
Bathroom shower was good and looked pretty new. The bar area was quite small and had a lot of loud locals. But the restaurant was on the other side of the building so didnt affect us.
- David (6/5): Was ok for one night, but need to invest in a decent shower - Very clean rooms, though they do vary on size.
Breakfast were a good size and the head chef was very welcoming. The bed was ok.. slumped in the middle so kept rolling when trying to sleep.
A king duvet may be better for a double bed, rather than having to fight for cover.
The shower was really bad. Came out in a trickle and the hot water didn’t last for long.
The complimentary shower gels were in small bottles that kept falling through the shower rack.
After checking out at 11am, staff wouldn’t let us in the bar area to wait, so had to sit outside in the cold.
Restaurant is extremely expensive. London prices, so you may need a second mortgage.

- Dean (10/5): Great place to stay excellent facilities - Warm welcoming staff. Excellent food
- Paul (3/5): Food good manager parks in disabled bay ! Sums it up really . - Food and eating staff . Locals use as a bar and one was abusive and manager bottled it .I sorted it but he was out of his depth or in their pocket .
- Geoffrey (8/5): Comfortable - Spacious Problematic heating and hot water
- James (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Would only stay again when on a deal price. - Clean, new looking room. Nice decking on roof and the Pub noise wasn’t an issue. No heating on in room so it was cold. Local pushed in front of me at the bar and the bartender didn’t notice or didn’t care to. 1 noisy guest but that can’t be helped. Mattress was thin.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- steve (9/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Nice place to stay -
- Carole (7/5): - Lovely clean room, good size shower
Nice evening meal The bedroom only had a blind at the window and let in too much light
Pillows were too hard for me, but others might like them
- Fred (10/5): Room was New , right size bed , right size shower hot water good - Arrived at 20.00 managed a Couple of Drinks whilst ordering my Meal . Superb Burger and Chips perfectly cooked Nothing - Car park Water holes !!
- Kim8 (8/5): -
- Scott (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): This is not the first time we have stayed there and will not be our last - Excellent nicely cooked and high quality of food and local
Sorced Nothing really
- stephen (9/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): - I made this booking for relatives travelling from Australia. They commented that although the room itself was clean the blinds were very dusty, and I believe one of the guests reported this to the hotel. Overall, they were very pleased and had a really good breakfast before travelling on to their next destination. Thank you for looking after them. The only comment from them was that the blinds were very dirty but did not detract from their stay. Thank you.
- Dawn (8/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): Lovely stay would go back - Lovely gem of a place with beautiful food and great staff lovely touch with the outdoor seating area on the terrace with beautiful views Nothing
- John (5/5): Would not stay again - The room was clean in every respect. The bed was clean and comfortable.
Teamaking facilties excellent. The room was also a good size. We had one dinner meal which was excellent . The lighting in the room was very poor.It had a very small window so little natural light.Impossible to read a book easily. The bedside lights were useless for reading in bed.The worst thing was lack of comfortable chairs. There were two chairs with small cushions which were horribly uncomfortable and a “sofa bed “which was also uncomfortable. Not possible to sit anywhere with any degree of comfort.we sat on the bed mostly and that was too low..The window blind was broken and would not stay up.The toilet was very clean but needed more shelf space for bits when washing or putting on makeup. The Muzak in the pub below, whilst OK in the pub bar,was very intrusive in the room ,the thumping bass actually made the toilet floor shake and it went on until closing time.
The car park was small and there was brambles growing over the fence which tore clothing when opening the boot.Needed cutting off.
- ANDREW (6/5): I don’t want to put this place down. A little more thought into the room design would be better.New room, TV wasn’t set - Bar & Food The room size, the smallest room I have stayed in.
- Callum (6/5): -
- Lee (2/5): Most uncomfortable Christmas night ever! - Good location for the trip we had planned. The tv did not work.
The heating was stuck on with no way of turning it down.
The hotel was closed, therefore no facilities available even to get a bottle of water. We were not made aware of this fact when booking the trip.
- Matt (9/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Dez (8/5): Lovely stay a bit noisy from the road outside. The price of the accommodation reflects this. Overall a very enjoyable st - Good location and the food was excellent Nothing
- Maxine (8/5): -
- Marc (3/5): Poor communication - clean, modern comfortable rooms in a location that is easy for me to meet with family in town. When checking in i was advised that a Christmas party was taking place. This didn’t bother me until I returned at 10.40 to find my room shaking withe the noise and bass from the function room below. I should’ve been advised at the time of booking and i could have made an informed choice. I’ve stayed several times before, but not sure that i would in future.
- Pauline (6/5): Convenient location, attentive breakfast staff, compact bedroom, ensuite and car parking. - Conveniently located to Wisbech town. A very attentive breakfast staff colleague who kindly provided a wake-up call to the room as I'd left my phone charger at home. Small size of the room and ensuite and restricted car parking area.
- Jayne (9/5): -
- eerik67 (7/5): Buen hotel basico. - Buena cama.Muy buen restaurante para cenar. Desayuno Ingles completo, grasiento a mi gusto, pero no desayuno estilo buffet.
Leche y cereales. Podías pedir huevos y tortilla
Poca o ninguna fruta. Pan solo rebanadas. Nada de croissants, panecillos o magdalenas.
Los domingo el restaurante esta cerrado para cenar.
- Derek (9/5): The hotel is slightly difficult to find. It's a touch unusual but all in all I enjoyed my stay. - The hotel is slightly difficult to find. It's a touch unusual but all in all I enjoyed my stay. Rooms are good, food excellent, plenty of free parking and staff friendly and helpful. I arrived late and I think they had forgotten about me. If you are going to be late, ring them and ask to be let in.
- Joanne (6/5): Good value for money stay. - The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The music was loud during the afternoon but we went out for the evening, so not sure what it was like after 5. On our return at 10:30 it was quiet.
The bathroom in Room 5 could do with an upgrade.
- Darrell (6/5): - Great food and drink, staff were great Room was a bit tired, and TV was very small, also the radiator was on all night so it was extremely hot and hard to sleep, and if you opened the window road was noisy, also we had water running all night from somewhere which was not great, we were in room 4
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The food was fantastic! No Abbott Ale, but other ales were available
- Phillip (9/5): - Lovely staff and a very good chef
- Jonathan (9/5): -

- Norman (7/5): Enjoyable. Staff always helpful - It was adequate for our purpose The rooms on the first floor are accessed via an outside metal stairs, which are slippery when wet. We had a lot of rain!! They need to build a cover over the stairs!
- Paul (8/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): -
- julie (8/5): Staff helpful, food very good. - Did not have breskfadt Noise from people sitting immediately outside room
Drinking And smoking . This was accessible room so no option to move.
- Alexey (10/5): -
- Ronald (8/5): Satisfactory -

- Ivor (10/5): - Very nice place, food was fantastic
- Sarah (8/5): It was pleasant and the girl on reception was very friendly and kind - It was perfect for the 2 days we needed till we move on to the next destination. It was clean, tidy and friendly.
- Gemma (10/5): Would stay again - Lovely pub/restaurant staff were really nice, food was amazing, room was perfect Nothing
- Alan (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Liz (10/5): -
- Ann (9/5): Lovely staff and lovely food - Lovely room, large and comfortable. Staff very welcoming and helpful Organised a taxi for us to get to the theatre Dinner was excellent . Parking was very convenient always find stairs a bit of a problem, one external flight to room. Shower in bathroom needs updating.
- Graeme (8/5): -
- Katrina (5/5): Pleasant stay, staff were accommodating but not the best value for money - We booked this as it was the only place to book in Elm and was conveniently located. The room had a musty smell and the shower wasn't particularly hot. We had booked for 2 nights but were not aware that the pub itself wasn't open after 5,30 on the Sunday evening
- Anne (9/5): A clean place , yummy breakfast with excellent staff & ideal accommodation for our stay. - Staff were super friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble . Breakfast was really yummy thank you. Nothing. It was all good.
- Pauline (2/5): Very disappointing stay - The staff were polite. There was a private terrace for guests to use. The bed was truly awful, it must have had some missing slats or something wrong with it as it caused me a very uncomfortable night with very little sleep. The step down into the room and up into the bathroom make this an awkward layout. There was clearly some remains of a slip mat stuck to the shower floor giving it an unclean look. The bed covering at the bottom of the bed looked rather washed out and didn’t give the best impressIon.
- Christine (5/5): Convenient and cheap - Friendly staff nice breakfast and reasonably priced with parking The room smelt musty . Shower tray needs replacing and holes in walls need to be repaired carpet needs cleaning/replacing room needs redecorating . The lunch sandwiches were of a low standard and overpriced.
- steve (9/5): -
- Christine (6/5): Nice place but could do with a tidy up - Small room. Bed comfortable.
Stain on the carpet.
Window blinds broken.
Mirrors placed with no sockets near for hairdryer etc.
When I contacted the hotel for early check-in (noon) I wasn’t aware that I had to pay for this in cash. Had to choose breakfast on arrival too, which I didn’t know what I would like at that time but I had to book something. We were the only ones at breakfast the following morning. Quality of breakfast was poor.
Cider on tap not available and only bottled cider was a single choice or alcohol free. Very limited options.
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Alexey (10/5): -
- Jayne (6/5): Overall good for a few nights. - Convenient, food is very good Bathroom was not properly clean, shower tray was dirty and there was a bath mat left on the floor that didn’t look very clean.
- Dana (8/5): - Cleanliness and rooms look tired. Room smell was musty, needed painting amd refurb also needed.
