Guest Reviews
- Kim (10/5): - We came down to Coba for one night to see the ruins and cenotes. This was a perfect little place, simple room on pretty grounds. AC worked well, clean. Breakfast was light but our 7 yo loved the fresh fruit.
200% recomendable
Relación precio calidad excelente
- Fernando (10/5): - Servicio excelente y eficiente
Me encantó!
- Pascal (10/5): Perfect place to stay before visiting Coba Ruins! - Perfect place to stay for the night before visiting the Coba ruins, cenotes, or on your way to Chicin Itza. Owner host is very friendly and accommodating. Property is clean and quiet, and everything worked great.
As a side note, pool was under maintenance when we stayed, so may be worth checking to see if it is up and running if you plan on using it (we weren't going to use it so did not affect our stay).
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice new place. - Enjoyed meeting the hosts, especially Jorge, he is a really nice guy who wanted us to learn about the region. Quite helpful.
- le (2/5): BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE! - Be aware! This place charges more than the shown price on Hotels.com if you choose to pay at hotel. It's owned by a couple who just impose whatever price they want when you are there, desperately need a place to stay anyway. They will also use a much higher exchange rate and charge in Peso. There's only a guy at the front desk who doesn't speak any English. Terrible service. Worst hotel experience.
- Margarita (8/5): Needs to have more of hacienda feeling. - It was a family vacation to visit the ruins in Coba.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Charming! - This was the furthest of a few hotels in Coba but it had the most charm and was on the edge of a nature reserve. For those who don't want to walk a bit extra to the gates of the ruins, it is easy to get a taxi within town. Plan transportation well though, as the ADO buses and colectivo Kombis do not run very frequently. Worth the visit!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely quiet place in Cobá which is still an authentic Mayan visit.
Esperamos regresar pronto.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Setting in a very nice garden. Welcoming open entrance. Big clean room, and bathroom.
- Claudia (8/5): Good value - Stayed for one night near the Coba Ruins. Staff is nice and the place is very well located.
- Elisa (10/5): Tranquilo, cómodo y económico. - Relación calidad-precio estupenda. Cama cómoda, sitio tranquilo y personal amable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - ¡Un hotel maravilloso!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice clean hotel! on highway with nothing around - Very nice, very clean facilities! no taxis in Coba after 4pm - long walk on dark highway through jungle to reach town, nothing around hotel
- jose (2/5): Hacienda Coba are thieves! - I'm upset because the workers at Hacienda Coba charged my credit card for an additional $346.24. I have fought against it through my credit company denying these charges. The nerve of this hotel to actually send false receipts stating that I requested additional days stay. The reservation in under another person's name but it was charged with my card! Now my bank is refusing to refund me this money. I will continue to fight against these thieves. Beware of using your card at this place! keep a close eye on any charges they are putting in your card!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - We really enjoyed staying at Hacienda Coba. We were there only one night for a visit to Coba ruin, but we wished we could stay longer. The room was charming and very clean. It has a pretty Koi pond in the back. Simple breakfast is serviced at the reception/front desk area.
It's out of the town but only a few minute drive. This is the perfect hotel if you want to be close to the ruin to beat the crowd but want a luxury of modern and clean room with working A/C.
- Verified traveler (6/5): hotel near to coba - even if not in center coba, is a pleasing stay there.
to reach ruins you'll need a car.
rooms are good but, please, less DDT.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Affordable, place for a comfortable stopover - I was staying here to work conveniently with some local artesanias. This hotel is convenient to the roundabout that takes you either north towards Punta Laguna (to see monkeys), East to Tulum (Amazing beach), West to Valladolid (charming must-see colonial city) or South to Coba (ruins and excellent cenotes).
I accidentally booked the room online for 21 days when I only needed 1 night, and they happily waived the penalty which would have been 2x the cost of my room for both nights. The price is low. The location and rooms are charming. Nothing fancy, but for an easy stopover, then yes I would recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): All good - We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was small and a short distance to Coba. The room was clean and quiet. It was not a fancy place but the place was a good price and the simple breakfast was fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): clean and cute hotel - The property is well laid out. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was wonderful during our stay. Although staff mentioned the wifi didn't work very well in the room, we had no issues streaming videos from room 5. Would highly recommend the stay for anyone wanting to visit Coba for the day. Much better accommodations than the hostels down the street.
- Markus (10/5): Delightful Boutique Hotel Minutes from Cobá Ruins - This lovely small boutique hotel has a half dozen suites located in several small rectangular building that frame a delightful central rock garden. Out back, the Yucatan's jungle has been thinned so that Banana and other fruit bearing trees can find the light. A covered veranda at the back of the property hosts a lovely little pool full of large coy. The lobby is open and spacious. Thoughtful artwork abounds across the property.
A three and a half hour delay in our flight forced us to arrive just before midnight. It being the off seasons, we were the only guests. Nonetheless, the general manager awaited us at the entrance to the hotel. Our room was large, airy and simply elegant. The next morning we were treated to a continental breakfast of good coffee, juice, fresh fruit and toast and jams. This hotel is just a couple of kilometers from the Cobá Ruins. We will certainly come back if we visit those ruins again.
- John (4/5): Far from eveything but the road - Hotel is far from the village and the ruins, so you need a car.
Staff is not friendly at all. They don't even say hola when you see them... Was like we were disturbing them in their day to day life.
Room is clean. No amenities in the hotel. Bring a book
- Bertrand (4/5): Rustic stay - Hotel lost in nowhere. Rooms are nice but this is all you ll find. Breakfast is very rudimentary. In all, it is expensive for the service.
- Jill (10/5): An oasis! - We(2 adults and one kid) were based in Cancun but did a three day road trip inland to see Ek Balam, Chichen Itza, and Coba. We stayed here for one night, wishing we could stay more, but we had a self made itinerary to stick to! Comparing this to any place we have stayed for under $100/night-this is by far the best. The people were friendly, the food was good, the grounds and the room were clean and comfortable. My husband is 6'2 and the bed was long enough. The a/c was actually temp controlled instead of just warmer/colder. The dinner and breakfast were very affordable-the dinner was good and the breakfast was very good. The place had beautiful flora and a very calming feel to it. We walked to the back entrance of Chicken Itza easily. I'm a very light sleeper and there was no noise aside from a frog that was in the outside drain croaking loudly....I doubt that's a nightly thing and I don't hold that against the establishment! We would return in a heartbeat!
- Hacienda Coba (10/5): great place to stay. Awesome family - the coolest place if you want to be in the jungle
- Petter (4/5): - this hotel is by far the furthest away from the ruins. Room smelled.
- Robert (8/5): Location is mostly everything - This little hotel, one of the very few in the area, sets along route 109 (on the left side when approaching Coba from Tulum) and a short distance after turning around the rotary. It is still easy to miss, though, despite the fact that there is s small sign in front of the facility. Keep your eyes peeled for a brightly painted yellow building (the reception area), behind which are situated the several cottages, two per block of buildings.
- Robert (10/5): - Great place. New buildings. Very stylish. Great staff.
Me gustó, 100% recomendable.
Local calmo e tranquilo.
- sylvain (2/5): - ok, the place is new but the new painting smell so strong we had a bad taste in our mouth in the morning and because I had a really good price with Hotel.com he didn't want to give me our free breakfast
- VITOR (8/5): Convenient to visit Coba ruins nearby - Brand new hôtel, recently opened. Not finished yet.
But rooms are in mini villas, completely finished.
Big rooms and bathroom
Nice décor around the villas
Friendly staff
Breakfast was included. Buffet style. Simple but okay
Perfect overnight stay to visit the ruins of Coba nearby (3 min by car)
The internet was not working in th room due to heavy rain, although I think the router was out of order. There was wifi in the "lobby"
Arrive early if you want to have dîner in Coba as most places close after 21h
- Roberto (8/5): simple but a good hotel in a very small city - I really enjoyed my stay at that hotel and I recomend it to everybody
- Verified traveler (2/5): Need a car and a sense of humor. - The nice but naive managers need to stay in a hotel that works. It is overpriced.
No amenities.
- Kurt (8/5): Friendly start-up near the Maya ruins of Coba - The clean hotel currently operates 4 rooms and has been newly opened in Feb.2015. The young owners are very helpful and ready to learn what is best for the customer. I would be unfair to critisize the minor flaws shortly after the opening. The place is a good starting point to visit the nearby Maya ruins (4-5 km) in the morning (opens at 8 AM) before the crowds including bikes and rikschas start to flood the place after 10 AM. A good restaurant is reached after a 5 minutes drive towards the town center on your left. It is recommended to have your own transport.
- Phoebe (8/5): Sweet Place with friendly, helpful staff - This is a very sweet little place, tastefully decorated. From the front, it looks disappointing, but entering through the reception area, the back where the rooms are is very pretty.
The rooms itself is lovely, but it was slightly uncomfortable, due to a strong smell either recent staining of the wood trim or massive amounts of bug spray. In any case, we had to keep our windows closed, because there are no screens, so the smell made it less than perfect. We would have preferred to have windows open.
Other than that, it was very nice.
The breakfast was fine, but I had the sense that we ate more than they expected. It was supposed to be served at 8. I asked if it was possible to eat earlier, and the got the whole thing together for us before 7, which was incredibly sweet.
