Shower was broken with 2 styles of taps Air con and lights did not work when we entered the floor/ room. Im glad we only stayed for 5 hours until our other hotel room was available
• Janina (9/5): Hotel mit Zimmern mit toller Aussicht - Großes Hotel mit geräumigen, sauberen Zimmern und bequemem Bett. Die Aussicht in den oberen Zimmern ist sehr schön, mit Blick auf das Meer und die Seilbahn. Lage ist prima, wenn man mit der Seilbahn fahren möchte und in der Nähe des Schiffterminals sein möchte. Abendessen war sehr lecker. Aufgrund des Tetfestes waren wir fast du einzigen Gäste und trotzdem war abends alles verfügbar. Personal war super unorganisiert, wir wurden zuerst in ein benutzes Zimmer geschickt. Keiner wusste so recht was zu tun war. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr klein und überschaubar, dies war aber vermutlich dem Tetfest geschuldet, weil kaum Gäste da waren.

The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location was also perfect, close to many attractions and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

• Hei Mun (7/5): - Beautiful view of Ha Long Bay. Clean and decent room and bathroom. Friendly housekeeping staff. Gym is small but usable with a beautiful bayview. Room service was good. Ten minutes ride to Ha Long city. Breakfast ends too early at 9am. Breakfast area, lobby are not air-conditioned. Safety wise on the poorer side due to lack of cctvs, lack of identification to use hotel lifts, hotel corridors quite dim.

Communal areas were not at all as advertised, breakfast was poor and definitely not a 4 star hotel. The only thing that was similar to the photos were the rooms. However even then, they were run down and had wallpaper peeling off the walls. On a positive, it is basic and good for a stop over but if you’re looking at staying in halong bay definitely book somewhere else.

The shower is the only negative thing I would comment on the hose was spraying out of the and water was going all over the floor. Other than that everything else was great 👍.

The room was full of cigarette smell but the staff came the clean up the room very fast. Part of the room needs repair and was a bit dull. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel is good.

We had a room with an amazing view of the bay We chose a hotel with a pool so we can swim. When checking in she said it was open. We got our swimmers on to find out it was closed, first cleaning 🥹

• V9402IBdungn (10/5): Great - We have chosen Muong Thanh Grand Ha Long hotel for our family's post-Tet holiday: The first comfort when setting foot in the hotel is the hotel's cleanliness, the attentiveness of the reception staff, and the specialties no matter what . It was a small group of guests, but we were personally welcomed by the hotel director himself with a very friendly smile. During our stay here, we were very satisfied with the amenities, the delicious food, the friendly attitude, the politeness of the leaders and hotel staff.... we will come back in the future. Next steps when arriving in Ha Long. I would like to take this opportunity to wish good luck, happiness and prosperity to all the staff and staff of the hotel.

After 10min was told can check in if pay for early check in fees. Despite paying for early check in, found shower heater and room card don't work until 12 noon. This is our main gripe in otherwise good staying experience.

There was some major maintainance work (replacement of floor carpet on the passage). We got to know about this only when we got out of the room for breakfast on the second day of our stay!! They should have moved our room to another floor, as there were plenty of rooms unoccupied! This is poor planning and careless customer service!

• Maartenku (7/5): A clean and comfortable hotel close to the boulevard. - We enjoyed our stay at the Muong Thanh Grand Bai Chay. The room was nice including three single beds perfect for a stay with some family members. The room was clean and the bathroom was large. I didn't have a room with sea view, but due to the location these rooms would have a great view. The location itself was not really convenient. It was a longer walk to the city centre/boulevard and it was hard booking a taxi because Grab isn't actively used in Ha Long. The refrigerator also didn't work that well.

View from the room for sea view room is great. 4. Attentive staff at breakfast, though many couldn't speak English well. Food was great. 1. Rooms were not cleaned very well within stay. The shower drainage was clogged with a lot of hair. Can see that they only did the min. 2. Would be good if there are more English speaking staff around.

We got a bit unlucky with the weather and were forced to stay in for two days – no problem since the room was so cosy yet spacious! Staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast provided many options. This is outstanding value for the price. The elegantly designed shower cabin doesn't fully close, making spills unavoidable. The smart TV was a little slow at times.

From Noi Ban airport to Halong, car hire driver went to two hotels of the same name before getting the right one facing the sea. partly driver’s confusion over the name.

Staff also helped us call a taxi and even offered to help us book a bus back to Hanoi. The soap provided were in mini disposables bottles, but you can request for more.

• Debra (9/5): Deserted Ha long Bay but amazing hotel view. - Booked the Premier suit as there were 3 of us and the triple rooms apparently only have views to the back of the hotel (which would still be fine), but as only staying one night, we wanted to take in the famous Halong Bay Views. We were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness and facilities of the Suite and the 180 degree Views were amazing, well worth the extra dollars. We travelled during Tet so Ha long bay was incredibly quiet as was this hotel. Due to the very limited number of guests the restaurant was very quiet, breakfast was not a Buffet but we were offered most options that would have been on the buffet and these were prepared individually for us (we still felt like we had a feast). As most retail and restaurants were shut, we decided to eat at the hotel. We were looked after well and although they did have a limited dinner menu offering mostly local foods, we still enjoyed our dinner experience there. The gym and pool were closed due to lack of staff and patrons so we could not check these out unfortunately. Exorbitant Laundry fees. As we had just returned from wet and cold Sapa and had been living around smokey fires and had been trudging through muddy rice fields, we had a lot of washing to do. There was no way to wash our own clothes with only a laundry service offered. As we were desperate for some clean clothes as on a night cruise the next day, we took up the offer despite the potential of a large fee to wash two small bags of clothes. A big laundry bill of $60 Aus at the end of a nice stay was a bit jarring. In comparison we had a bag of clothes washed, dried and folded in Hoi An for $3.
