Danny (6/5): - Owners had a bad tenant in prior that had snook a pet in the room. They were very apologetic, unfortunately the pet had urinated in the kitchen area. Owners did a thorough clean, downside was the strong smell of disinfectant through the night. Sky tv didn’t work, asked owner why and was told there is no remote as it had been stolen. Wifi signal was poor and kept disconnecting. Owners were helpful and it suited our needs, is ok if looking for a one night budget stay.

Lisa (2/5): - The rooms smelled of animal faeces, a toilet was not secure to the floor, there was something on a headboard that looked like dried faeces, there was cable ties holding up the shower head. It took a whole can of oust to just make it bearable to stay as we were there for a funeral in hamilton and had limited funds. Everything was out dated and worn or broken. I think they should be shut down!! Need I say more?

Vicky (6/5): Good with some exceptions - The staff were friendly and helpful. The room could have done with a little up dating and maintenance. There was no shelves in the fridge door, so we had less room in the fridge as we had to lay the milk and juice bottles down in the fridge. The kitchen cupboards only had undercoat pain on them and in places the wallpaper was peeling. The room had no wifi, as the wireless didn't reach our room, so we had to stand outside to use our devices. The room was warm and clean and was quiet. We had a good stay, thank you.

Verified traveler (4/5): - I was placed in a room facing the road, which turns out to be a 4-lane highway. The room had no soundproofing so I was kept awake by the sound of heavy trucks and boy racers driving up and down the road for much of the night, which probably accounts for the low price. Other rooms don't face the road and would not have the same problem. The staff were pleasant. The room was clean and spacious, with a dining table and a separate kitchen. The bed was comfortable, and the extra pillows came in useful for covering my head so I could get some sleep.
Ari (10/5): - Perfect for a little family. Has everything you need in a kitchen even the tiniest detail to a bit of salt that was available. Beds were comfy staff were friendly I would defenatly be returning here for another long weekend. Great stay!

kath (2/5): Rip off merchant - We arrived at hotel, which we booked through Expedia NZ, (about 10mins before we arrived.) Before we even got to see the room we queried if in fact the room had air conditioning. He advised it did not. We said that we really needed air con and were not happy to stay there without it. He did not offer a fan or anything else, but stated that as we had booked through Expedia, and he had not received the money as yet, that we would need to contact them for our refund, which we did immediately. We are now being told by Expedia that they spoke with the manager and he advised them that we could not get our money back, which is a total lie!!! We would have reconsidered staying there if we knew we would lose all of our money, which we have now done.
Robbie (4/5): Very outdated inside and out, needs a spruce up!! - Great location, but when arrived wished we had spent a little more and perhaps booked the motel across the road which was a bit more up market. The Ceder lodge is very out dated and could with a big makeover. we booked 2 rooms one foe ourselves and one for our friends, it was a bit embarrasing as our friend studio had a very uncomfortable bed, so they didnt sleep well. It was clean & tidy but very basic!

Verified traveler (8/5): - Our studio room was large and well equipped for a short stay. Dining table and chairs a bonus for eating or to use as a desk. Opening windows for fresh air made the room really comfortable. I would have liked a self service Laundry facility. We had been travelling a few days and had planned to catch up on our washing before continuing our trip the next morning. The Laundry service provided would suit business people but not families or couples touring.
Pam (6/5): - Unit adjacent to a very busy main road = lots of noise Wifi - very slow Some TLC would improve overall condition - ie towel rails only just hanging on:mould on shower ceiling , lighting - room very dull - and no way could we read a book : TV - no Sky as advertised: Replacement of tea coffee etc a little erratic. Hot water almost tooo hot. Mat on floor - a curled corner which one had to be very wary of. Black chair broken . An ironing board provided but no iron. No information about the motel or what to do in Hamilton provided in the unit. Off street car parking insufficient for the number of units. Cooking facilities were all that we required.

There is mould in the room which is quite visible. In side the kitchen cupboards was dirty. The whole room needs an overhaul.

Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - It seems the owners or owners family stayed next door and the adults were talking loudly late into the night and playing with their infant who either cried or giggled non stop and it was so loud it felt like they were in our room - I don't mind if you want to stay up around midnight but it woke our children and us up. We also saw on the hotel webpage that the family room which we hired had a soccer table and a outdoor play are or playground which is why I chose this motel - it did not have any of these things. I should have asked for a refund as it was pricey for what we stayed in and then having a horrible nights sleep for a family with young kids was the worst for us. Will never stay at this place again.

The bed was very firm, and no television in the bedroom. $130 for a night is at the lower end in Hamilton, and I view this as reasonable. The wifi password provided did not work. No milk or tea / coffee provided. Reception gentleman was friendly and polite.

We appreciated the normal sized fridge for our week's stay, the big towels and the Comfortable beds and we really appreciated the peace and privacy. Unlimited Wi-Fi was great but connection would cut out often.
Jeffrey (8/5): Nice and safe, comfy and good value for money - Stayed here for 16 days, lovely and safe place for a family to stay. Full kitchen, clean and spacious room, convenient location, very near to bus stops and groceries. The staffs are very courteous and friendly, they will check you for room service everyday. Love the choice of coffee, tea and biscuit. Comfortable big bed and nice large thick towels. Three things they need to improve. 1.) Outdated faucets, install a mixer valve/tap would be great upgrade in the kitchen and toilet. 2.) wifi service, it's unlimited but they will give you a 1GB coupon only, you need to get a coupon in the reception after you used it up. 3.) Laundry facilities, the washing machine is broken when we visited, but they accomodate our clothes using their own service laundry. Would definitely recommend this motel to others, good value for money.

Kitchen bench in Studio accommodation is desperately small, cookware in family units is mediocre and street noise for front units is too audible. Motel does not merit a 4 star rating.
Verified traveler (4/5): Hard bed/matrress had dip/door rattled/plus more - The room was very tidy and clean and welcoming. It wasn't until we went to sleep that we found the mattress very hard which had a big dip in the middle which was very uncomfortable. I did not sleep well. It was a windy night which made the door rattle which is normalish, but the draft coming through the door was bad. We could not stop the draft as it was coming from all around the door. We put a chair up against the door to stop the draft and rattle. The main window had a lovely curtain and drape, but all the others (3 windows) all had frosted glass that allowed the lighting from outside to shine in lighting up the room, that reflected off the mirror opposite the windows. We were put in a room next the roadside, the traffic noise from the 4 lanes, main road was a major distraction when you are trying to sleep on a bed where the mattress has lost it's support from your upper back down.

Ruakakakiwi (6/5): Comfortable and good value for money - The unit I had was comfortable with good heating, a comfortable bed, quite well equipped but the shower pressure was very low. Really that, and the poor connection to the internet was the only thing I would say was a down side. The staff were helpful, although in the evenings not always there- I suppose they need to have a life too. The room was serviced every day and I found it to be very clean. I would recommend this motel to any travellers as it is good value for the rate charged.

Marie (6/5): Well situated and comfy. - Lovely comfortable bed and immaculate linen, nice big bathtowels. No shelves or cabinet in bathroom to place anything in or on. No dishcloth in kitchen to wipe benches etc. We had front unit which was quite noisy with road traffic very early in the morning. Would stay again but would request a unit further towards back of property. Well priced. Free wifi.
SheTravels (6/5): READ THIS: don't be fooled by the pretty pictures - Clean-ish; nice beds; separate bathroom & separate kitchen both from the 1950s: functionally all quite passable and possibly quite good value, BUT as the saying goes, you get what you pay for... The photos are full of promise but don't be beguiled - they don't show the depressing painted breeze-block walls; sticky rug; stained bedspread; noisy 4 lane main road outside; & the neighbour's barking dogs at night. Long after I put my light out I could hear the permanent renters upstairs - every toilet tinkle & dump, bed springs, TV, muffled conversations & stomping around. Several units looked like they had max-ed out their bed usage as the occupants loitered outside in their hoodies smoking & staring you down. As a single woman travelling with a 12 yr old son I felt extremely uncomfortable and THAT is what really annoyed me - paying to stay somewhere I did not feel safe. This place seems like its half motel, half 'housing NZ' - good value for burly blokes who are hard-of-hearing; families and ladies go elsewhere.

Was asked to pay extra $42 each for 5 visitors whereas other hotels just charge $25 for extra person. Whilst trying to get the fridge to work we found a mousetrap and a cockroach. Room was extremely cold and when we asked for a second heater we were told to sleep with the bedroom doors open.

Shirlz (2/5): Run down, staff were very dodgy - Motel was below standard not like the photos on line. I had to park my car next door on the front lawn of this run down house, I was worried that it could be broken into or stolen, very worried they made me do this. Not what any motel should expect you to do. Not impressed from arrival until I left, would never stay there again
M.MW (6/5): Cheap and clean - Was ok but road noise in front unit not so good. Comfortable for one night though. Booked online through Wotif where I chose to make payment on arrival but was charged by visa before I arrived and no reciept given. This I was not happy about.

The owner brought up an extension cord, but told me that I would have to keep the bedroom door open to heat the lounge. The neighbour's were very inconsiderate and played loud music into the night on both the nights that we stayed there. I will not be staying here again. It is very tired and desperately needs an update.
Angela (6/5): Close to stadium - Nice and close to stadium. Easy check-in, off street parking. Modern furnishings, old buildings remodelled. Fit for my purpose which was family accommodation close enough to walk to the stadium. Smelt smokey and / or musty was my only complaint.

Big room with a separate small kitchen with stove, good selection of tea and coffee and cookies, large comfy bed, lots of room. included a lounge and decent size table. Fantastic value for the price. James (2/5): Awful and Dated - Very very dated, old fashioned and in need of a lot of TLC, photos online don't compare with the room we stayed in, didn't feel the room was secure, bedrooms were just about acceptable and the bed was surprisingly comfortable, the rooms were as clean as they could be, but it just felt very uncomfortable being in the place. Wouldn't stay there again if they offered the room for free.

Clare (4/5): Don't Believe The Photos - I know the saying, 'don't judge a book by it's cover' and unfortunately I fell for it. The photos of the room online were lovely, the 'four star' words fooled me, I expected to have a four-star stay. The omen was there when I asked for a downstairs room and the first one they gave us was up a flight of stairs.... What we got was what appeared to be a renovated one-bedroom council flat. The bathroom was spacious but that was because it appeared to have once been a laundry/bathroom. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. However, the bed in the living area felt like an old sponge mattress you'd usually throw on the floor for kids at a sleep over. It was quite noisy, being on a busy road with only single pane windows and a ranch slider that sounded like it was going to fall off the rails every time we opened it. Earplugs and a sleeping pill would be a good thing to pack if you were staying here.
