- Valentin (10/5): The heart of Hanoi old quarter - A Lovely small hotel in the heart of the old quarter!
- Ivana (10/5): The best of location! - The best of location!
- Smith (8/5): Very good - Location is great -- right in the heart of the old town.
- Rebecca (10/5): Lovely staff great location Great value for money - The location is excellent
The staff were so friendly
Great value for money
Great cafe restaurant opposite with great food
- Sean (2/5): Just don't: dirty, noisy, and overpriced for what it is. - This hotel is not at all like the listing describes it as. Don't be taken in by the 9.0 rating, it is not at that level, at all.
It is in the Old Quarter so I expected a bit of street noise. There's quite a lot of that, but that's not the property's fault. The people talking loudly in the room below the stairwell until 2am are entirely the property's issue though, particularly as these were not other guests (as has been used as an excuse on other review comments), but people sitting in the family space behind reception. I had to go downstairs at 2am and tell them to shut it so I could get any sleep.
The room is small, and again, that's fine as it's clearly listed as 22 sq m. However, it's dirty and dilapidated, and if it ever looked like the pictures in the listing, that was a long time ago. Obviously nobody does any cleaning. Check the pictures attached to this review.
There's no lift, so we were lucky to be on the second floor - although that was closer to the noisy 2am chatterboxes and also to the cigarette smoke wafting up the stairwell that stank out the room we were in. I brought that to the attention of the front desk and they said "maybe it was the Chinese" - classy. There's no enforcement of the non-smoking though.
The bed is hard and the pillow even harder. I barely slept all night due to the noise, loud conversation, smoke, light pollution from the aircon, and rock hard bedding. I only stayed one night and I would not have stayed for any more.
We didn't take our chances with breakfast - and even though it's shown as included on the listing, we weren't told about where and when it was, and didn't see a dining room, so just skipped across the road to Cafe Hieu, (which makes a great egg coffee btw - the best part of our stay here).
I brought these issues up when I checked out but was met with blank looks and a bill. I paid and left, and wouldn't return here if you paid me to. Pretty much everything. I'm scoring a 2 instead of a 1 because the street noise and room size were things I knew about when I booked, but everything else was terrible.
- Smith (8/5): The heart of Hanoi - Convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable but small rooms
- Ioannis (7/5): Good - Location was good and the staff was helpful. There are rooms facing on the Street and other to the back of the building. We got one facing back so it was extremely quiet despite the busy street. No elevator, might be an issue especially if being on the 4th floor. Room needs renovation and more cleaning. The walls had a lot of stains and some mold. Room size could be a bit larger.
- Ori (10/5): Exceptional - Nice!!!
- Daithi (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location! good staff.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Very good
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - This cozy hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter offers a wonderfully convenient location and exceptionally friendly staff! Small
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - A perfect Old Quarter location and incredibly friendly staff make this Hanoi hotel a great choice.
- Peter (7/5): Good location, good price, basic room, medium cleanliness - Great location in the middle of everything, if you don't mind the noise from the street. Staff was very friendly. It's a good apartment hotel (not a normal hotel) if you simply need a convenient place to sleep with no extra facilities or services. Cleanliness was not 100% and everything wasn't in working order - for example, some of the electrical plugs were not working.

- 2b2dan (2/5): This is the Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. - The location of the hotel was good, within walking distance of many attractions within the old quarter.
This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The inside of the drawers had cobwebs, there was dust in every corner of the furniture and worktops were sticky. The chair was stained and burst at the seam. The mirrors and window were filthy. The floor had been washed but not swept as there was hair and peanuts on the floor. The toilet pan had the most disgusting stains. This is an old hotel and it has not been cleaned properly in years.
The television doesn’t work, apparently none in the hotel do. Beside lamp is broken and hanging off the wall. There is a kettle and cups but no tea or coffee. The water is either SCALDING HOT or cold. The shower riser is broken. There are no hand towels or floor mat provided. The only place to hang a towel is inside the shower area.
There is NO SOUNDPROOFING WHATSOEVER. The hotel is near a busy junction and you can hear horns blaring from 6am to midnight. There is a family living in the bottom floor of the hotel, no problem with that but you can hear their toddler screaming at 11pm and men talking long past midnight. As a paying guest I would expect some peace and quiet but didn’t happen.
I wish I had inspected the room before paying. My advice to you is inspect the room first.
This hotel is in need of a thorough deep clean and a lot of maintenance.
- Mary (1/5): The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. - The location of the hotel was good and within walking distance of many attractions within the old quarter. 1.For some reason this hotel contacted Booking.com to say my credit card was declined, even though they took the payment and on conclusion of the stay I received an email to say my reservation had been cancelled. This happened to others in the hotel too!
2. This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The inside of the drawers had cobwebs, there was dust in every corner of the furniture, the chair was stained and burst at the seam, the mirrors and the window were filthy, the lampshades were dusty and discoloured. The floor had been washed but not swept and there were peanuts and hair on the floor. The toilet pan had the most disgusting stains. This place has not been cleaned properly in years.
3. There were no hand towels or floor mat and 2 bath towels were provided. The only place to hang towels is inside the shower area. The shower riser rail was broken. There was only one dirty, battered bin which was in the toilet. The water in the shower was either SCALDING HOT or cold. I was told you had to run the water for 30 minutes to get a constant temperature!
4. The television didn’t work and I was told all the hotels televisions were broken. There was no attempt to fix it. Bedside lights were broken and hanging off the wall. There was a kettle and cups but no tea or coffee sachets provided.
5. There IS NO SOUNDPROOFING WHATSOEVER. The hotel is situated near a very busy junction and horns blared from 6 am until midnight. There is a family living behind the concierge and under the stairs, I had no issue with that but when there is a toddler screaming at 11pm and men having the loudest conversations until after midnight then I do have a problem. I am a paying guest, not a volunteer so I should be entitled to some peace and quiet.
I didn’t think to inspect the room before paying for it, I wish I had because I wouldn’t have stayed there.
This hotel is in need of a deep clean and a lot of maintenance. If you decide to stay here, take my advice and inspect the room f
- John (9/5): Superb - Location
- Toan (8/5): Very good -
- Olga (9/5): I'd come again for a short stay - A very good locationin the centre of everything. Helpful staff. They helped me to carry my heavy bags upstairs. The receptionist was really a kind person. The room was small, but surprisingly cosy because of the little round table and an armchair by the window with the curtains. There was also a desk and a chair in the room. It looked like the property saw better days in the past. The shower room appliences were very basic.
We were unable to make the small refrigerator work with the cleaning lady. The fridge was also quite yellowish inside. There was no lift in the property. Climbing the steap stairs with the bags was little comfort. I stayed only one afternoon till the evening, so I can't tell if the bed was comfortable.
- D'alessandro (10/5): If one day I will come back to Hanoi we will come back here 100%! Thank you for made these 3 days really special! - Was very well organised! You can change money, they have laundry and they organise amazing tours!! The room was simple but perfect for us!

Both night and day receptionists were very friendly and they gave us recommendations about places to go and all. Overall 10/10 I would definitely stay here again. - Jeffrey (10/5): - Great location, comfortable room. Rooms are only accessible by stairs. Would recommend for a night or two in Hanoi.
- Oli (5/5): Passable - Location was best part of this property (central). Close to restaurants, street food, atms, shops, coffee shops, the river etc. Staff are also welcoming, offer sim cards and organise taxis. Wasn’t very clean at all. Bathroom dirty, lots of dust in places and an empty condom wrapper was left in the drawer by the side of our bed. Not very soundproof either.
- Ella (10/5): Convenient! - Room is clean! Location is very convenient because in center.
- Nir (10/5): Thanks! - Room is nice and very clean! Good location!
- Asier (10/5): Nice! - We have booked that hotel for 3 nights, the first night the owner free upgrade for me to Deluxe room. That's nice room, but we don't like because the window near street, so it's a little bit noisy. Then we change to another room on the top. It's nice room also, good window and very clean! Thanks you for all!
- Edward (10/5): - Room as pictured (top floor), we were given an option of whether we wanted to be a lower or higher level. Friendly staff. No lift which I didn't expect and no problem for us. Clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom could be cleaner but this appears to be standard of the area, working hot water and air con.

- ChrisPayne1967 (8/5): Clean and fairly priced. - The location is perfect and most attractions are walkable with 45 mins.
The rooms aren’t quite as smart as the pictures but for the price they won’t be.
The coffee shop directly opposite sells the best egg coffeee that I had while in Hanoi.
- C8454ORrobinw (6/5): Good base - Great location based in the old quarter, everything was within walking distance. Swift and quick check in service. However cleanliness let this place down. A funky smell in the room and a few areas that needed to be paid more attention to. The bed linen wasn't the best but we made it work. The AC is the best we've had in Vietnam tho. Worked an absolute treat! Overall a good base and area to stop in.

Ah! This hotel is in central of old quarter, so i can go to eat some food very easy (i have tried Pho, special noodle soup)
I will come back next time! Thanks you all
- Tyler (7/5): Good -
- noushie83 (2/5): Absolutely awful - I am so sorry to say that this hotel was terrible. Our room was filthy, towels had brown stains on them, the shower head fell off whilst using, the noise was unbearable we hardly slept, the room had little silver fish all over the walls, the safe didn’t work, the fridge was broken, old mattresses stuffed down the side of the stair banisters, the bathroom was covered in mould, the smell of blocked stains was absolutely foul, the loo was leaking water all over the floor & when I reported it the guy who checked us in just shrugged his shoulders & carried on with his day! Even though we booked & paid for 2 nights we left & went to stay somewhere else after the first night.
The photos of the hotel & rooms used by the hotel on their website & various booking websites must be from when the hotel was first refurbished as it hardly looks like the same hotel anymore, completely misrepresented. The supposed restaurant/breakfast room is now just piled high with junk.
Very disappointed especially when I have seen so many good reviews & the pictures looked the way they did. Also on booking & Opodo this is rated as a 3 star hotel….I would hardly say it was 1 star.

AThe hotel architecture however is dated and best suited for short stays. But given the reasonable rates, it is satisfactory.
