- darrylreilly (2/5): Hotel Nightmare - This place needs knocking down. A regurgitated mouse, cockroaches, mould in the fridge poorly lit and dated electrics that could probable kill. Walked in and ran out within five minutes. The only good part was a speedy refund. DO NOT GO!!!
- Veronica (2/5): - there was no light at the motel entrance. It was disficult to locate the property in the dark. The room with cockroaches crawling around. The WiFi is bad. The owner said that we haven't booked the place and the cleaner threw all the food we kept in the fridge without checking my booking properly first. Although the owner bought back some food for us but we still lost some yummy food. This was a bad experience.

This motel should be shut down and the companies advertising this property should be legally dealt with. The cockroaches seemed to enjoy the area. How dare you charge money for this dump.

- Bruce (4/5): - The property was not as advertised online. Very rundown and in need of repair and renovation. Swimming pool redundant - had grass growing on top of it. Lovely view from the room. No welcome at reception - key left on counter at 2.30pm. Non existent staff interaction with us at all.
- Frady (2/5): - The hotel is a literal junkyardtgat has nothing to do with the photos advertised. The furniture is very old and smelly. Rooms and toilets are dirty. Outdoor swimming pool is a swamp. Lands are not lawned. Although I arrived at 3:00pm with wife and kids, the room offered was not ready (very bad room). I was told to wait 30 minutes. Then I was offered an alternate room (not much different in condition. The offered room had 1 double bed and 2 single beds which was different to what I booked (1 queen bed and 3 single beds). I ended up leaving and had to pay $300/night at a nearby accomodation. Was a complete waste of time and ruined our day. I will never trust Expedia again.

I’m so disappointed with my overall experience that I will never book through Expedia again! I will also be in touch with fair trade because there has been no true avenue for a refund. What a dodgy scam of a company!

- Kalliopi (2/5): - Sadly the condition of the room was nothing like in the advertised pictures. Things were falling apart in the room. The bed was king size with only the mattress, no base, making it so low, you could injure yourself getting in or out of it. No side tables to rest things on. Only one light worked. The TV was the size of a A3 sheet of paper with a remote that you had to push batteries in (coz there was no back on it) to make it work. There was a bad smell and mould inside and outside, holes in the extra blanket and the curtains were questionable. The bathroom was like one in a caravan, tight with a small tub like configuration however, with no bath mat made it risky to step out of the shower. There was nowhere to sit and eat except on the bed inside and nowhere clean to sit outside, except one wooden chair. The other stools and chair were mouldy. The sheets were clean. The location itself was good. They claimed to have a view which if we’d taken the first room offered was of the car park. I would seriously not recommend staying there.
- Tim (4/5): - We shared the room with at least 50 cockroaches that entered through the gaps in the pointing etc. We dropped something on the floor and wiped it up, the tissue came back black from the residual grime. There appear to be long term residents who think it's ok to holler load conversations to one another at 10:00 p.m. outside your door. Grim at best!!

Ameneties only provide towel & soap & towel is smelly. Beds are ok. The worst one is the heater. Overhead heater is broken , i went to reception & told her , she said it is broken & there's one in the cupboard which is so old portable heater & it didn't give warmness the whole night for the whole room, so we have to wear super thick jacket to sleep. The blanket that they provide is super thin. The owner/reception old lady look like unwelcome face most of the time to customers. Thank God we only stay one night there. Terrible experience.

- avarona (2/5): Eco - hell - I really don’t like to write such bad reviews but I have been absolutely disgusted and shocked how terrible this hotel is. Our adult family members stayed in 2 rooms and both rooms were equally horrendous. I walked into our room on the first night to instantly see a very distasteful stain on our doona cover which straight away made me want to run. It only got worse from there. My husband went to put our soap in the shower to find an old used cake of soap and a used razor blade sitting in the shower, black mould on the ceiling and windows and an awful sewerage smell in the bathroom that never left. There are cockroaches and bugs crawling around everywhere including in the microwave, mosquitos galore which left us with bites over us when we woke up in the morning. It is a very old and dated place which is fine, but it has been left to rundown. The biggest concern for me was the lack of a smoke detector in our room. It was like a lot of other broken items in the rooms which had broken and never bothered to be repaired. The only positive were the friendly staff who were very helpful. It has been an experience staying here and one that has been burnt into my memory.
- 714lynneb (2/5): Unbelievably bad place to stay. - This motel was built in the 1950's and hasn't been improved since. Very old fashion and run down. We had a real problem with cochroaches. Millions of them!!!, after lights went out, they ran up walls, over the bed (and us) A very uncomfortable feeling. The bathroom door wouldn't close, after years of neglect, the door had swelled and wouldn't go into the door jam. The 'Motel' neon light in front wasn't working, which meant that at night you couldn't see where to turn off to drive into the motel. I didn't want to give it a rating because it doesn't deserve one.

However the outside and general hotel appearance needs much attention - presentation is a concern. General run-down appearance. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

I was a very late check in and they answered the phone for me several times late at night, so I was even more happy. It is basic accommodation, what can I say, it was just that, basic, but again, that was all I needed.
- 401lynnl (10/5): Very pleasant holiday. - My husband and I stayed for a month last year and really enjoyed it. A bit oldfashioned as some have said but we liked that about it. It is close to everything. Shops, beaches, lovely drives and walks. The staff were very helpful. The room was big with all the necessary amenities. I can't think of anything to complain about. I might add that we have stayed in hotels all over the world and though it may not look flash like many we have been to we enjoyed it more than most. If it wasn't for the coronavirus situation we would be there now.
- babyhilly (2/5): Disgusting bathroom. Appealing customer service - Reception allegedly open till 8pm, there was never anyone there. There was a ring bell sign yet no bell to be rang. The bathroom smelled like sewage for the whole 4 days we stayed there, when finally managed to speak to someone they lied to our face saying the problem had been fixed, yet it did not. Any portaloo smells way better than that bathroom. Disgusting And the customer service also very poor. I personally have over 15 years experience in this area and was appealed by them.

We asked for, and were provided with, a portable hotplate so I could prepare some meals. Ecotel is not luxurious, but if all you want is somewhere to shower and lay your head, you can't go past it for the price.

- davidandsamanthas (2/5): Dont bother staying here .. - Was living here for awhile with my partner had so many issues it wasnt funny... the room we stayed in unit 2 when we moved in smelt mouldy and wet the bathroom sink leaked water drain wasnt fixed correctly the water goes extremely hot or extremely cold in the middle of a shower the heater on the wall obviously been maintained or inspected in a long time as it caught on fire 🔥 , we also had problems with the lady in unit 4 who seemed to have different rules to everyone else in the complex i had been told to have my dog on a lead when outside which i always did one morning when i took my dog out the lady from unit 4 was no where to be seen and her dog was wondering and harassing my beautiful placid dog and then bit her on the face because she grunted at it because it would not get out of her face !Police always seemed to be in the complex also started to get so bad my partner and i left as soon as we could i would not recommend to anyone if i could id give this place 0 stars if it were possible just seemed like everyone there wanted to start fights its not a well ran business at all honestly surprised its still in business ..

The rooms were clean, closest motel, I believe with access to waters to fish from etc. First motel as you come into Narooma from the north. Good BBQ to cook on. Mattresses were hard, facilities are old but in the process of being updated. Recycling bins out the front for food scraps and bottles, cans etc.

Lovely people but unfortunately the property is very run down and the standard is really not in line with what was charged for the room. The carpet and bed covers were really quite dirty.

I’m very disappointed as I couldn’t even receive all my money back on either night that I had originally booked two nights then changed to one night. Luckily I found accommodation elsewhere. - sydfire2015 (4/5): Needs work - The Motel describes itself as “Ecological Accommodation”. That may be the case but maybe it should be “Economical Accommodation”. The room was on the spacious side with a King Sized (comfortable, including linen) bed and two single beds. There was a TV and microwave as well as a large wardrobe, table and three chairs, a sink, cutlery and crockery. There was a jug, mugs and glasses. The bathroom was of an old design and with a lack of hanging space. There was no shower curtain or door which meant the bathroom floor got wet whenever the shower was used. There was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good. The bedroom/living room needed some TLC. New curtains, the current ones hardly covered the windows. The window winders did not work properly, although all the windows had protective insect screens. There was no air conditioning although a floor fan was provided which worked well. Heating is by means of a bar radiator and three blankets. The carpet needed cleaning and the glasses and mugs appeared to have been only rinsed. You get what you pay for these days and at $88 per night I suppose I got what I payed for. Cheap? Definitely. Worth the money? Probably. Recommended? As a last resort.

When we arrived window is cracked but we can't do much as all rooms is booked out. I was wondering when was the last time they thoroughly clean the room. Anyway ... For the hotel owner, perhaps it is time for you to touch up and upgrade the room.

- PeterL223 (10/5): beautiful - this was the second time my family stayed here. The service from the reception staff was flawless and incredibly helpful with giving local advise on the area and its stunning features. We stayed in September 2017 and then again in January 2018 and the work and upgrading of the facility was obvious. I would describe this as a friendly - almost farm like - atmosphere where there is nothing too big or too small for the staff to assist you with. We missed our check in time by 3.5 hours and they were incredibly generous in assisting my family with our particular situation. Linen was spotless - light refreshing colours and the towels soft, fluffy and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and extra blankets/pillows etc. The fridge was spotless (quite often places have a build up of grot in the joins or the door well - but not here!) The plates/crockery/cups/glasses/cutlery were modern, no chips or cracks and very clean - as too was the dish washing cloth and tea towel. My family and I will stay here over and over again - as well as be recommending it to all our extended family, friends and any one else who ever mentions staying in or near Narooma!
- H9505AZkatec (2/5): Complimentary Rat Poison for your toddler to play with - This is The WORST place we have ever stayed in. I would've given it no stars, but it wouldn't let me do that. Let me list the features of our 'family' room: Ants throughout the cupboards and on the floor Weird beetle things that crawl out from under the mould infested bathroom fittings No airflow nor air conditioning for days over 30 degrees Celsius- so the small airless room is actually hotter inside than outside. Piles of rubbish lying around the 'resort' - including rotting debris adjacent to the bins (as if they hadn't been emptied in a long time) - lovely for the snakes to live in! The pool which was only 'cleaned' two weeks ago still appears to not be clean as my toddler now has a fungal rash on her torso. The 'wildlife' that lives around the doors, windows and anywhere spider webs accumulate and also likes to come inside (I found a white tail spider in the bed that the toddler was about to sleep in) Rat sac - that's highly poisonous rodent poison pellets - in lowest cupboards easily accessible by a curious toddler who said 'lollies' as she pulled it out all over herself and the floor, all whilst I went to the toilet for one second. The Ecotel Narooma is a filthy excuse of a resort that is DANGEROUS. My daughter could've been killed by the RatSac. The excuse offered was ' a previous tenant must've left it there' and we were given 2 free coffee vouchers. Is that the going rate for my child's life?!! Here's what I think Ecotel Narooma - clean your rooms properly and this wouldn't have happened! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN immediately!
- misscandle (6/5): Hostel style hotel - The hosts of the Ecotel are very pleasant and trying very hard to update/upgrade the hotel as they can. The Ecotel is very basic somewhat in the style of hostel accommodation. The rooms are small and dated as are the bathrooms. In saying that you get what you pay for and as a base for two days diving it suited our needs. A clean room with hot shower and a wahing and drying area for our gear. This is not a hotel to stay at for an extended period id used to a degree of oppulance however for two or three days while expring this amazing area it is sufficient. Finally it is a shame to see such a pretty pool and surrrounds being so neglected, hopefuly this area will be returned to a usable state in the future.
- BudgetSeb (10/5): Lovely - Simple and neat, close to the beaches and narooma boardwalk. Great view, lovely staff, beautiful surrounding area. 10-15 minute walk down to the narooma flat shops and restaurants. Value for your money.
- hannahw160 (6/5): The room was full of flies - When we arrived the hotel had no note of our booking, luckily they could still fit us in, however I was informed that it would be cost more than I was quoted when I phoned and booked. The room was a good size, but there were loads of flies in it and there was a lot of noise from the near by road. Pool was closed, but the website wasn't updated to say this nor were we informed on booking. Friendly staff who were happy to help.
- bonniebear11 (2/5): Ecohell!!! - Don't bother goin there, nothing Eco about it .. unless you enjoy the smell Of sewage wafting into your open windows that are feral and covered in webs and dirt. Take time to scratch the bites from god knows what that eats your body while you sleep on a mattress that's NEVER BEEN CLEAN, for the love of jebus god whoever .... keep driving there are lovely places further down!!
- 755zoen (2/5): Worst hotel iv stayed in! - Extreamly run down We arrived only to be told the pool isn't fit for use as they were fixing it when I inspected it through the locked gate it looked as though it hadn't been used in years! Our room had a very damp smell although it looked clean at first glance the towels were old and scratchy and had dirty big stains on them that were so off putting. There is no area for kids to play the view from our room was that of an overgrown pack paddock there was no air con only a small upright fan the beds were so uncomfortable they felt like we were sleeping in concrete they gave no support had we had not forked out a small upfront we would have packed up and stayed else where. Definitely won't stay or recommend to anyone
- zoevk (8/5): Cosy and quaint - A very comfortable stay in cosy surroundings. Everything you need at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities are a little dated but that added to the appeal. Very quaint and enjoyable.
- Q5220FGwendym (4/5): Very Uncomfortable - It was a bad start before we even left home to find out the pool was not in working order. The reason we chose this place was for the pool so we could relax with the kids around the pool. We arrived to a run down place with a filthy dirty pool that had not been looked at for a long time. After checking in we opened the door to find a very musty smelling room but still looked comfortable. Not to be we sat on the beds and it was like sitting on a wooden plank. The soap provided was no more than a slither that was not enough to even lather up yourself with. Some of the towels were dirty and the air conditioning was not up to standard. If not for a fan we kept running no stop we would have roasted. The place looked clean but very old, needs a good over haul. I would not go back and would recommend inspection before paying. signing off My Aching Back.
- RioTraveler31 (8/5): Pleasant stay at Ecotel Narooma - Had just an overnight stay at Ecotel. We knew this was going to be basic and we just needed a place to sleep so it served our need well. Surprised to hear some bad comments as our experience wasn't bad at all! Our room was tidy with two single beds and a queen bed. All beds were comfortable and the shower worked fine. Had a kitchenette and a dining table with four chairs that was handy to have a cuppa in the morning. They offer remedial massage on site and the therapist was professional and after a long drive, it was perfect to get a 30min massage! Free wifi as well. Some rooms are tiny but with a water view. We only paid $130 for three of us. You really can't beat the price at the peak season! Narooma and Mystery Bay area are quite pretty. I would recommend this place if you are not after luxury. You will have a comfortable bed, clean room, and a functional shower with a friendly service.
- bethanysarah86 (2/5): Only stay if you are desperate. - Dirty (filthy quilt covers, crumbs on ground, mood in shower and ants everywhere in kitchen when we arrived), smelly (musty, mouldy), noisy during day & very very old. Almost like someone was playing a joke on us. Yes it was cheap but at over a $100 a night we wish we had stayed in a tent.
- swifty150 (2/5): Shocking - My friend booked this for one night as we were just passing through and needed a bed for the night. The rating was 3 1/2 stars... I wouldn't give it 1 star! The room was musty and the bathroom was just plain gross. We just couldn't bring ourselves to stay there so we handed the key back and forfeited our $78:00. The lesson here is you get what you pay for.
