• 614robins (10/5): Great stay at the Rockpool - We loved the Rockpool. Easy walk to restaurants, pubs, beaches which are all nearby. Reception lovely and very easy, the motel is spotlessly clean, room was quiet and comfy, a/c was just fabulous ! The pool was really great too at the end of the day and super clean and clear water. Underground parking, nice neighbourhood too. We will be staying here again.

• Pamela (4/5): Sadly charging top dollar while providing cheap hospitality made me wish I'd gone to a caravan park. - Clean. Had A/C and a hairdryer. The Rockpool was once the premier resort-type hotel in SWR. For the premium price (discounted at $216) I was sorely disappointed at how badly it has been let go. There was no mention of the flights of stairs with no lift anywhere when booking. Just as well I could pack a small overnight bag as I would not have managed on the top floor otherwise. While town water in SWR is reportedly safe to drink, it has a disgusting taste and a strong smell of chlorine. Despite this, the hotel did not provide even one bottle of filtered/drinking water. The only thng in the fridge was a tiny Norco long-life milk. The cheap shower caddy was rusty and I know you can replace them for $5. Grout was crumbling between tiles. There was some attempt to repair sections of grout, but they used beige instead of while, so it looked dreadful. The rubbish bin in the bathroom was one of those $1 Bunnings buckets. The pillow seemed to constrict my head and lock it in one position, leaving me with a headache in the morning. With the restaurant closed on site, there was no information on places to eat or local attractions.

• Christopher (7/5): Comfortable and enjoyable. - Room was clean and well presented, bed was comfortable and the facilities worked without issue. We managed to lock ourselves out on the morning of leaving (Sunday) and found it difficult to get back in prior to 7:15am. Luckily our friends recognised a staff member heading back to the motel after walking the dog and managed to obtain a spare key. The door is heavily sprung and slams shut so quickly after exiting it gave me no chance to recover from my mistake after wandering out to the balcony area without the key. This is definitely something to be keenly aware of.

We weren't told that the restaurant wouldn't be available over the weekend, which was the main reason we stayed there. The email we were sent also stated that the restaurant was available. We were actually told by a local that it doesn't operate on the weekend.

Parking was easy with secure underground access. The room was large, spacious and spotless, with a great kitchenette. Air conditioning worked perfectly and the bed was super comfortable. The pool was a lovely temperature and very clean. Great central location. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

FANTASTIC LOCATION + - Exceptionally clean and tidy property with a lovey host who was welcoming and friendly. Kids loved the heated pool. It’s perfect distance for a short flat stroll into town, to the beach, or river. We had dinner at the onsite restaurant one night because we didn’t want to head out which was generous serves and perfect for feeding kids after a long day at the beach. beds, clean amenities made our short stay very comfortable. I’d come back here again. Gosh-so minor but honestly the place was so lovely to stay at, it’s worth giving this feedback to the owners to improve first impressions because it would be a shame for someone to give a lower review because of this. (My review is still 10/10!!). The smoking section in one of the front carpark spaces is the first thing you see when you arrive which doesn’t give a good first impression. Possibly needs to be another designated area away from the front entrance and not blocking off a car park for a car that can’t fit in the basement. (We had boards on top- so we would have fit in basement otherwise). We were very easily able to get street parking directly out front and owners even let us park on grass nature strip so parking is NOT an issue.
