Also paid extra for our family to use the private pool, such a great space. Will be back with golf clubs and walking shoes for the waterfall track is open. Loved it all, but will be upgrading to a motel unit in the hope the double bed is better as we had some serious roll together š

Ignored us when we spoke asking questions staring at the computer insteadā¦. hadnāt answered oh when we were calling to advise our lateness. a just responded NO abruptly to request for late check out on motherās day ā¦. very unpleasant iād not return because of her service but found the place nice an would want to bring kids back just not to be checked in by her

- Verified traveler (6/5): Affordable but not Quality - Opal Hot Springs is affordable but the facilities are not very nice. The bathroom was quite dirty with many bugs. Showers were quite dark at night. The room itself had a mildew musk and did not have any air conditioning.

Staff were amazing and the pools were just wow. Make sure u get in a good soak while you're there,you will feel brand new lol. Thanknyou opal hot springs we will be back again soon.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - No WiFi (you cannot even use your own data as they clearly have a blocker) except if you pay their extortionate WiFi rates for minimal data. Not a good look this day & age. We were trying to organise funeral, so we had to go off-site to do this, pointless staying here, as we were looking for time out to clear our heads and make further arrangements. Don't recommend at all.

Owner argued that we could only have 2 people - no compassion as we had travelled to Waharoa for a tangihanga (funeral) - owner demanded we pay extra despite paying over $300 - we told owner we would never have booked a family room for 2 people only. It was a genuine mistake - owner showed no compassion or understanding of our situation. We had travelled over 6 hours to get to the tangihanga. Totally unhelpful especially when we were already stessed and sad.

- zoe (6/5): - we were definitely happy to stay in warm room with an 8mo and a 2yo, but the water through the kitchen tap ran brown for a while until it turned clear, this is not good for a baby which needs clean and safe water to drink (yes i was boiling the water). the shower took a good 5 - 10 minutes before it ran warm to hot, i do understand that if no one stayed in the room for a while this can happen but staff should have been checking this before having guests stay.

- Mary (6/5): - I found the whole properties facilities being good and not hard to access, I would say put something more in place for the cars up at the cabins as some had more vehicles than suppose to and also have a system that better makes other guests know to stop being noisy and also the cabin I was in the door kept jamming which made it hard to lock. I didn't like there were cobwebs and spiders on the roof an no vacuum or broom offered if your there for longer than 3 days. Plus beds were dusty on the top bunks. Suggest to have a better airflow for condensation.

- Kathy (4/5): - We never got there as the function got cancelled through illness and our money wasn't refunded as we hadn't cancelled by the 10th February 2024 which is terrible as other accommodations offer a much better cancelation time frame I will never look to book there again and will tell people. Its time Opal Springs moved with the times .I gave 24hr notice of my cancelation so they were able to sell it on.

- Donna (8/5): - Cental to Rail Trail. The owners seem to have done alot of work on the grounds and working their way up the list of priorites & improvements for an older establishment. Although the rooms are tired but they are clean, and tidy & contain all of the necessities. Good linen, comfortable beds & pillows & all the cutlery crockery expected.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would definitely stay again - Great service at check-in. Cabins were clean and in a tidy condition. Beds had pillows and bottom sheets. And with the summer heat, we didn't really need the extra bedding we had brought. Loved that 3 pools (1 large one with cool water, lanes and a slide and 2 smaller hot pools) were free for guests to use. Stayed here after doing the Tongariro Crossing and it was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We used the pools in the evening and the next morning as well.

- Elodie (8/5): - Very nice unit, all very clean. The choice of different pools is great (a big one at 28 degrees, another smaller at 37 and an even smaller one at 39). The only downside is that they only open at 9.00am and the check out is at 10. But otherwise, great place to stay :)
- Kate (8/5): - Clean and tidy, well kept grass areas. Tourist flat was a bit run down and basic worth of fashioned decorations, but very convenient facility for what we needed.

No phone reception, had to pay for wifi. Rubbish stinks right in the middle of everyone. The mattress, we couldnt even sleep on it, it had springs poking out everywhere. Will never be going back. š¢

- Shannon (8/5): - Beautiful park and Motel. We really enjoyed soaking in the hot pools hence why we chose to stay here. Unfortunately tv didnāt work as aerial was broken and heating in the motel was quite insufficient. Nevertheless we would absolutely one hundred percent stay again because the beds were comfortable our room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Jug, toaster, cutlery serve wear. And the pools are just Devine!!

- Astina (8/5): - Overall a good stay. Room was clean and comfortable. However the shared toilets/shower was old and rather grimy. So we bath in the shower block instead. Expedia was not great though. First the listing was incorrect - the room did not have a bathroom at all as stated. -second when we wanted to change and upgrade the room, I assumed I would be paying a little more. I did not ask for a refund but rather an upgrade so was willing to pay more. Instead they were planning to cancel the payment for that room and made me pay for another room which means I am paying for 2 rooms instead. When is an upgrade considered a cancellation? Apparently Expedia thinks so. This is the 2nd time I had a rather bad experience with Expedia. I suppose this means I should be wary of it in the future.
