• Richard (10/5): A home away from home, tucked away in a quiet street ... minutes walk to the beach - WONDERFUL. - Had a wonderful stay at this ground-floor apartment with easy off street access. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach, which made it perfect for relaxing mornings and sunset strolls. The apartment itself was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The private deck was a great bonus—ideal for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or evening drink. The bedding was especially comfortable, which made for a really restful stay. Overall, it felt like a home away from home. I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others! Not a thing

• Yuri (8/5): Perfect location in a quiet area - Location was superb, quite and in a very close proximity to Corlette Beach and Salamander Bay shopping centre. Jane, host, was very responsive and helpful. Apartment was spacious with aircon and selling fan worked perfectly as well as shower. For self contained apartment the absence of gas or electric cook stove was disappointed, but BBQ was not far away. There was a minor glitch with plumbing in a bath which was promptly fixed on Easter Day! Bed was generally comfy but because base was on wheels, not always stable . The biggest problem was the absence of adequate soundproofing. Hosts ,based on an upper floor,tried to be as delicate as possible, but every light movement was clearly heard.

• Martin (8/5): A really enjoyable stay in great location in the lovely Port Stephens area. - Great location. Private and well appointed for our needs. Clean and comfortable. Not a dislike but a suggestion : there could be a little more crockery and cutlery and basic kitchen utensils provided - only a few more. Not much more is needed.

• Wayne (8/5): We had an enjoyable few days stay at Corlette Retreat. - A very short, easy walk to beach, central location to all Port Stephens and surrounds has to offer. Clean and comfortable. Could hear owners moving around upstairs as floor/ceiling creaks. No washing machine.

Only 1 bedroom, but 2 TV's with Netflix and other streaming services included.

• Noel (10/5): Perfect Little gem - We loved our stay at corlette, so close to the water it was perfect , the unit was spacious and clean and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. The verandah was large and lovely to sit and relax on...sadly the weather wasn't great but we thoroughly enjoyed it anyway and we are definitely going back to this little gem ...shhh don't tell to many people lol thank you Janice regards kim and noel

• Joanne (9/5): An almost perfect spot for a leisurely stay! - The location is great, 2 minute walk to the water's edge, 5 minutes to local shopping centre. The front patio is a dream to sit on and relax. The unit is very spacious and comfortable to stay in. Lovely decor and wall decorations. The twinkle lights in the front tree makes locating the property in the dark a breeze. The host Jan was great, nothing was too much trouble for her to organise. Unfortunately my husband is mobility impaired and was uneasy taking the bottom step (of 4) up to and down from the patio, as it was much higher than the rest of the steps. The timed light in the toilet was unexpected and the toilet bowl lower than what he is used to.

• Gillian (9/5): Lovely quiet retreat with a friendly host. - The location and hosts were amazing. The property is private and quiet, very close to the water and marinas. The kitchenette was perfect for my needs, bedroom lovely and large, the bathroom was perfect too. The garden is beautiful and full of fairy lights which I loved! No smart TV available. The power tripped and I sent a message to the host, no reply. However, the lights were on when I got back to the flat. Also, the fire alarm tripped really easily when making toast - I had to keep the front door open for that. Otherwise everything else was great.

We were made to feel very welcome and we did enjoy our stay there. If we needed anything further we were able to contact them directly. We loved our stay there. There was no breakfast provided. Not much at all. We were really happy with our stay and would enjoy staying there again.

• Shona (10/5): Perfect for Us - Roomy holiday unit - we stayed overnight to attend a family funeral, our host was wonderful - let us in extra early to get dressed, made sure we had everything we needed, we are easy care so she then left us to it. The living area is roomy, tiled floor with a leafy private outlook from the full glass front, big screen TV, comfy lounge, fans and air conditioning, small kitchenette with microwave, outdoor setting undercover just outside with free parking in driveway. The shoreline of Corlette/Salamander Bay was a very short walk away. Bedroom roomy and private, very comfortable bed with nice linen, bathroom had a bath and plenty of room for both of us to use at same time, separate toilet. I understand extra bedrooms can be opened to accommodate larger parties of guests. We felt miles away from the world.

• Verified traveler (10/5): A well-kept secret hide-a-way for adults only! - This lovely accommodation is not really a hotel. It is actually a self-contained unit attached to the owner's home. Very roomy, with everything you could possibly need for 2 people. The owner even provided cereals & bread to make breakfast. We stayed here 3 nights on our way up the North Coast of NSW. So roomy compared to other accommodation in the area. There was a small problem with some ants but that was dealt with quickly.

Also providing breakfast such as yougort and cereal. a bit dissapointed of time to check out which is 10am (checking 2pm and out 10am happens everywhere in Nelson Bay). Also there is an step out towards the garden which is unsafe.
• Ian (4/5): - The apartment was clean and tidy, but not very private. The apartment is part of the owner's house, and there was constant noise of footsteps overhead and television blasting in the evening. There were several locked doors in between the guest bedroom and bathroom, from one of which came the sound of voices throughout the day. I'd expected a quiet "retreat" and ended up going out for some peace and quiet. The apartment itself was fine although badly laid out and in need of some basics like a coffee table, ironing board, new towels.
