Guest Reviews
- H (10/5): - Location is first to none. The unit was extremely clean inside and so much room. We had a great time and would recommend this place to stay. The windows needed a clean to enable full views and unit 2 aircon when on required us to close door which gave us our views.
- BO (7/5): - The space is decent and the price is affordable. There was an unnecessary gap that caused me to trip.
The instructions were unclear — I was not told the unit number or that the entrance was on the side of the building, so I spent a long time trying to find the key.
- Lorraine (10/5): Would definitely stay again whether you’re a couple or family plenty of room for all. Also when charter came back early - Very central for everything including jetty where we were boarding fishing charter Comfortable beds and furniture
- Lorraine (10/5): It is a lovely central place to stay for couples or families - Everything was very nice would be very happy to stay anytime, thank you There wasn’t anything I liked the whole experience
- Heather (6/5): Reasonable accommodation in a great location. - Great location, near beach, shops and restaurants. Reasonably spacious. Had a washing machine. Well equipped kitchen. Outdated bathroom and shower curtain was dirty. Whole unit needs updating.
- Chieh Yu (10/5): -
- Mima (9/5): Overall very happy with it and would most definitely stay again - Location was amazing! Love the size of the accommodation, having a family it was great to be able to unpack and still have room to relax and the kids to move around The pressure in the shower, was hardly any water unfortunately
- Rainer (1/5): -
- Zheng (4/5): -
- Nicolette (7/5): Nice beach shack - The kitchen was great and having a washing machine was very useful. The location was perfect and the shower was always hot. None of the lamps had light bulbs, the back door was very difficult to lock and was unlocked on arrival and there was hair on the bedroom floor.
- Debra (8/5): We loved our little shack, very cute, clean and location was great. Would stay again - We loved the location and the shack was more than expected N/A
- Warren (6/5): Great location. Rough around the edges, but comfortable enough -
- Eithne (6/5): Reasonable - N/A Misrepresentation of property from the outside. It certainly didn’t look inviting, however we made the best of it & did enjoy our time there as it was in a great location.
Just on exterior viewing we couldn’t honestly recommend it.
- Ann (8/5): Great location and facilities - The location was amazing and the facilities were all that we needed. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. This place on the outside was rundown, but internally it had everything that we needed for out stay. The fact that the glass door was a little dodgy in closing.
- Karen (10/5): - Great little unit. Great location for exploring the Shark Bay, Denham and Monkey Mia area. The units don't look much from the outside, but please don't let that put you off. They are very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Easy check-in and out. We would definitely stay again. Thank you to the hosts Nothing
- Mukesh (10/5): - The location
- Phuong Lam (8/5): - Căn nhà gỗ nhỏ vị trí rất đẹp, sát mặt biển và cạnh siêu thị. Nhà nhỏ, wifi chập chờn hơi kém
- Neil (8/5): -
- Lidia (4/5): - Location to Beach, activities and shops Too many to mention.
The accommodation was advertised as a unit but is a shack, which I wouldn't have chosen if my previous accommodation wasn't sold.
- Steven (6/5): - The place was very cold, no heater available.
Windows were really dirty so couldn't see out.
Back door not very secure easy to break into.
- Sarah (8/5): Great shack - Loved the location and the mattress was crazy comfortable There was cockraches but used to dealing with these cause our cat brings them in
- Nawroz ali (2/5): - Owner is gready asking for money for cleaning the floor
- Tony (10/5): - location, cleanliness, perfect no salt or pepper
- Ann (7/5): Very clean great supply of everything you need for your short stay . - This property is close to everything in town It was just a bit close to the main road noisy with lots of traffic.
- Lucy (9/5): - We booked the day before after realising we were missing a night’s accommodation and we were very happy to find the unit clean, welcoming and full of character. Nothing
- Craig (5/5): -
- Trish (6/5): Convenient but basic - Great location Facilities are very old ready for renovation/ update
- Lance (7/5): Was a good base to explore the local area. - Basic amenities but very good location. Shower drain was partially blocked resulting in slow drainage and standing in water during shower. Windows and doors rattled in strong winds making it noisy to sleep. Poor acoustics between units making noisy neighbours unpleasant.
- S.s (8/5): - Clean and had everything needed for a stay. Close to everything, don't judge from outside appearances
- Beau (10/5): -
- Pravat_Giri (10/5): -
- Morne (6/5): -
- Rachel from Adelaide (9/5): The unit was spacious, comfortable and right across the road from the beach - excellent! -
- Michael (9/5): -
- Brian (9/5): - great location easy walk for a person with mobility issues to food and drink comfortable and large suite would stay there again steep front step if you have mobility issues
- Ian (7/5): - The inside was very well done, clean and comfortable. The driveway and surrounds presented some trip hazards.
- Graeme (8/5): Great location and the accommodation provided some nice extras. - Location was excellent. nothing
- Catherine (8/5): Comfortable dwelling and great location - Very comfortable. Back screen door was very to close or move.
- Emily (9/5): Great beach shack - Loved the location, easy check in, comfy bed, cosy shack.
- Minh Triet (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): - Location Front windows needed cleaning and air con wouldn’t warm up
- Brody (10/5): Was great ended up having rain so it was good to have a safe house thanks - Great set up perfect location Could do with a paint job to tidy it up a bit I’m a painter could do a holiday job
- Mathew (10/5): -
- Celine S (10/5): -
- Sandra (8/5): - Don't judge a book by its cover. Look dated, but inside was very comfortable and clean with good amenities. Packing could be improved a bit. Great location.
- Kim (6/5): - Location and price Old and cold. Needs work.
- Noeline (6/5): - Close to town. Bed comfy. Spacious.
Unlevel floors so wind coming in the huge door gaps. Insufficient heating. Tv not working.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Isabelle (9/5): Excellent location, classic beach accommodation. - Excellent location opposite the main beach and adjacent to the IGA. A short walk to nearby shops and the visitor information centre and museum.
National Park and World Heritage Areas within 50km drive.
The unit is what you would expect of a beach shack from times gone by: all the amenities and comfort you need with its own character.
Wonderful place for families to stay and enjoy the best of WA in a simple way.
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Kennydmac (6/5): Slightly disappointing - The location was excellent and the facilities provided were fine. The washing machine and drying line were great. The place was a bit run down. The back sliding door didn't lock and a bedside lamp was broken.
- Chris (8/5): - Reminded us of a family beach shack we once owned.
- Louise (4/5): Basic facility.but good location. - Location, comfortable bed. Very much a shack- dated inside and out. TV would not work- no instructions on how to use.. Basic
- Tsirlin (1/5): Terrible, don't book it,never - Old,dilapidated property from inside and outside, needed to be demolished long time ago
- Linzey (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Bradley (10/5): Great little place in perfect location - Lovely little place in a perfect location. Looks a bit worn from the outside but the inside is lovely! Had everything we needed inside and had a comfortable bed and nice shower. Would definitely stay here again.
- Sheradin (5/5): Passable - The kettle was not usable - there was a thick build up/growth inside it. Clothes airer was held together with rubber bands.
- Graeme (2/5): Unfortunately we didn’t stay and found alternate accommodation - Location only Very run down
In poor condition
- Emma (6/5): - Property is very old but it was clean enough.
If they cleaned the windows, blinds and improved the shower drainage it would probably aid in better reviews.
Great location but it needs to knocked down and rebuilt.
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Dr (8/5): Overall, the property is in a great location and it was a good fit for us and our journey. - The property's location is very good—just close to the beach. We enjoyed the ocean that closed for the first time, and it was a remarkable trip because of the property's great location.
Thanks for providing the additional single bed at no extra cost and also for providing extra floor mats. 1. Hand sanitiser was provided, but was not usable. Instead, hand wash could be provided.
2. The shower drainage is poor, and the water drains very slowly while taking a shower. This resulted in discomfort with dirty water, which needs improvement.
3. Usually, with properties, we are observed to have salt, spices, and other necessary supplies for cooking. However, these were not available or not found, especially salt.
4. Though shampoos, conditioners, and body wash were provided, they were not sufficient, especially body wash.
5. Things such as body lotion could also be supplied, likewise, at other properties available.
6. Nevertheless, the property was safe; the locks at both door entrances should be improved, especially the laundry/bathroom side entrance, which is automatically unlocked even in high winds.
- Kylie (10/5): - It is a charming property, central to everything. Amazing, down-to-earth owners. Honest and extremely knowledgeable; highly recommended.
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional - Right near the beach and shops
- Jamie (8/5): Very good - Great value, no frills accommodation for a couple of nights
- Michael (8/5): Great location - The property is a little old but has been updated in some sections. It was a fantastic location right opposite the beach and walking distance to the main town. The owner was lovely and very helpful and quick to respond when we realised we had locked the keys inside. Over a period of time the windows had been affected by the salt air and therefore not the cleanest. Not sure if the salt can be removed, may need a professional cleaner to try.
- Pat (9/5): Superb - Nothing not to like. Very gracious host moved us to avoid having bulldozers outside our original room. Lovely appartement with very thing you coukd need. Close to the beach. Loved the Emus wandering around the site. Everything was great
- Tania (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location over the road from the sea. Saw emus walk by
- Marco (8/5): Authentic Australian Shack, perfect location - Perfect location, next to the shop and close to the beach Pots and pans need an upgrade
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Nicki (8/5): Comfortable, great location, tired beach shack - Once we got over the initial shock of seeing the tired, run down exterior of what is quite literally a ‘shack’ in the middle of a piece of wasteland. The inside was pleasant and comfortable with everything we could need including a washing machine. The location right across the road from the beach and IGA was awesome and we could walk to everything easily. The exterior needs some TLC and it most definitely does not have a garden view! The back door latch is very dodgy and provides no security whatsoever (luckily this is a quiet friendly town). The bathroom drains are very slow and it’s difficult to rinse out the sand from the shower.
- Karen (4/5): Disappointing - It was clean and the location excellent Overpriced. Lounge area wasn't comfortable. Air conditioner not good. Not value for money
- Sarah (7/5): Good - Loved that there was a washing machine and private clothes line. Size of the rooms were great too. Kettle is very old, couldn't use it as it had lots of little specs in the water every time- assuming from bottom of kettle. And toaster was very dirty.
- Vincent (7/5): Nice cabin, no outside garden - Complete cabin, good facilities for cooking , cleaning etc Not a nice location. No garden , trees etc. Very close to the road. Not possible to sit outside in a private setting
- Bev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aaron (8/5): Comfortable in a great location. - Great location, close to beach and shops and access in and out of Denham.
The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay in Denham. This is a very basic property in terms of any extra provisions. Wifi was not great however I am not sure if this is related to the remote location rather than the property itself.
- Ilse (1/5): Totally disappointed and disgusted. - Where do I start: Fly screen not closing, windows TOTALLY filthy, AC one setting and loud, Sea view - nil. Value for money ripe off. false advertisement. Front step piece of wood and cement slab.
- Keith (5/5): Won’t be going back there! - Location was good. Too many things needed fixing. Like the screen door wouldn’t close properly, the kettle didn’t work properly, the fan and lights had a gaping hole in the ceiling. The floor sloped downward at the back. Shouldn’t have been allowed to charge the price what they did.
The outside needed a paint!
- Marian (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Douglas (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maward55 (8/5): Not glamorous but great location. - Although the property was not glamorous the location was superb and in close proximity to restaurants and shopping facilities. No complaints. You get what you paid for.
- Zahwiya (10/5): Nice place to stay - Great location, near to the grocery store, near to the beach, quiet surrounding. The exterior not attractive but the interior is cosy. Especially the kitchenette, all I need was there.
- Karen (10/5): - Handy location and quiet, spacious
- Schmidt (7/5): Good value - Fantastic Location The building made a lot of noise mainly due to the wind, but the screen door wouldnt latch properly and so it rattled all night long.
- Stephen (8/5): - Character property that reminded me of beach holidays I enjoyed as a child.
Spacious, well laid out, confortable, felt like home in the 1960's.
Owners friendly & quick to respond to issue raised.
Not for anyone looking for an upmarket property.
- Fred (9/5): Great little get away, neat and comfortable. - The cottage was directly opposite the beautiful beach and across the road from the shops, so location was perfect. The outside needs work but we were informed that was going to take place soon so the surprise is when you open the front door.the 2 bedroom house is beautifully arranged. The bed was comfortable, the owners supplied everything you could possibly need for your stay even a washing machine. Most appliances and decorations were fairly new which was a nice surprise. As we had a boat, we needed a hose to wash it out so rang the owners and they supplied one for us. Plenty of parking and a cute little covered in verandah to catch the cooling breeze. Absolutely fantastic stay, will definitely be back. Can’t think of anything.
- Matthew (3/5): Wildsights Shack was a big disappointment. - Great to have a washing machine and clothes horse. The shack was clean, shower was hot and kitchen appliances worked. Short walk across the street to IGA and beachfront. We were shocked at the dilapidated state of the building (we were in a one bedroom, 1A). It is literally a 1970’s fibro box built across the road from the beach. No outdoor space to enjoy the location or aspect from windows. Doors barely locked and we felt it wasn’t secure. Commercial business literally on the other side of our thin bedroom wall. I can’t recommend this place at all. I can’t believe previous guests rated it highly. We were relieved to leave and move on.
- Emma (9/5): Lovely beachside accommodation next to the shops and restaurants - Beachside property, great location and couldn’t fault the unit Nothing
- Abigail (8/5): Very good -
- Glennis (9/5): Superb - Location of property and facilities.
- Rita (8/5): Very good - Great location. Convenient to everything. Accommodating staff. Nothing
- Roger (1/5): Poor. Not up to standard of any accommodation ever booked. - Good location. Unclean and shabby throughout. Faulty and unsafe electrical points and items. Uncomfortable beds. Back door lock loose and not secure. Owner was rude on the telephone. No apology or acceptance of our concerns and points made about the property. As well as the problems with the property there were roadworks immediately outside the property, that were loud causing the ‘shack’ like property to vibrate continually and the smell of asphalt staid in the property from when we arrived to when we left. The owner was aware of these roadwork’s but did not advise us prior to the stay or paying for the stay a week before arrival. We arrived after 10 hours drive and staid one night. We contacted the owner and our complaint was dismissed. In the morning at 6.30am the roadworks started up again. We contacted the owner again and she was rude and again dismissive. We advised her that we were leaving and expected an apology and a refund of some kind. This has not happened and we are progressing our complaint through other channels. We found alternative for 5 nights. We booked and paid for 7 nights at this property but felt unclean unsafe and upset by all described and we could not stay any longer than had too. This is the first time we have had reason to give a negative review and complain on accommodation and we have travelled all over the world over many years. Photos and text have been supplied.
- Jasmine (8/5): Very good -
