• Daryn (9/5): Overall fantastic place, a magic place to stay. Great MTB / walking track to Dinner Plain - Great location, Manager & staff friendly and helpful. The General pup upstairs was great, food was ok. It would of been good to have a few things like milk for tea, maybe butter & some condiments for toast. The General Supermarket had very limited supplies. You need to bring everything.

• Emely (8/5): Amazing!! A must stay if visiting Mount Hotham. - Our stay was absolutely amazing! The location was fantastic – a spacious two-storey property boasting fantastic amenities and stunning mountain views. We felt incredibly comfortable throughout our time there. The on-site general store/restaurant was a huge help, offering delicious food and friendly staff ready to assist with any needs. Driving up Mount Hotham is a very steep mountain road with minimal safety rails and reinforcements. Drive with caution and safety measures, plan ahead.

• Nima Manshoori (6/5): Great Food and Staff - Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was close enough to our hiking trail. Size of the unit. Cleanliness of the unit kitchen, and the food of the bar/restaurant. The address of the property is not clear, which could cause issues if the weather is foggy. The entrance is through a restaurant, and this should be clearly explained to guests. There are numerous stains on the carpet throughout the property. They do not look good, and the carpets require significant improvement or proper cleaning. The heater in the living room was not working. We also received a message before check-in saying that there was a supermarket in the complex and that we wouldn’t need to worry about shopping. However, the supermarket sells snacks mostly and does not provide the items needed for proper cooking.

• Romanis (10/5): - Views were amazing. Was very happy to have a washing machine and dryer to use after 3 weeks of hiking. The pizzas at the General Pub were incredible and the connected General Store were all very convenient being connected to one another. Only having one key card for the door was a little frustrating. Next time having a second so we wouldn't need to share one would be nice.
• Trishal (6/5): Christmas stay - The place itself, amenities, location, staff, toasties in the bar the general, the small shop that's part of the bar, ability to check in early off-peak season are all great. Only issue I had were the moths, I walked into my room at night after a long hike to find about 20 moths in it. I asked if there was a way to get these out quickly or a spare room with no moths. Unfortunately it seems to be the case all around as even being outside at that time where there is light, you'll be met with a swarm of moths. The staff did give me moth sprays that helped a little but I spent about 45-60mins catching moths and throwing them out to find a few more appear later on. There may not be a simple way to ensure rooms don't get filled with moths, however it might be useful for Mountain Dreaming to look into as it will undoubtedly up the experience and value to customers.

Great big bed. There were dead insects on the floor. Mouse droppings Dust on bench top Shower wasn’t the best pressure wise Door rattled all night like someone was trying to get in. Appliances were a little temperamental and hard to operate. Finding the property was a little hard. Google maps was a little difficult with location of the property.

• EVA (6/5): Disappointing. - Great location and lovely outlook. It was a summer stay for our wedding anniversary. We had booked a one bedroom apartment for two nights. It was however a lovely two bedroom apartment but unfortunately these two bedrooms were down two short flights of stairs, with the bathroom being upstairs in the living area (this living area was lovely). There was no mention of the downstairs bedrooms in the description on the Booking site. Due to a recent knee issue this was unsuitable, so we were moved to a studio room. This was nowhere near as nice, the outlook was not as nice, and there was just one basic chair. The hotel upstairs was undergoing some building work so the dining area was closed off. The staff however were very helpful and tried to accommodate us, which was much appreciated.

My daughter and I took this trip after losing my husband, her father, earlier this year. This was the trip he'd promised us to take. So as hard as it was, it was also very healing. We were able to fit ourselves and our 3 boys aged 3,6 and 9 comfortably. They had all the amenities we would need as if was our own home.

The staff members were super friendly and helpful. The apartment is next to the pub, which is super noisy with thunderous music up until midnight.

Staff were really great and helpful, and had a good sense of humour easy to engage with. Surprised they didn’t have the option to purchase cigarettes, unsure if this can change but I think they’d benefit from this option. Stairs were very loud and creaky and could hear next door when in the bedroom.
