The receptionist was able to give me a down stairs unit with an adjustment to the rate. Finding out that the unit was on the second floor on arrival.

Good place to spend the night if you are catching the early ferry to Wellington and don’t require much comfort. A little pricy what what they offer. Rooms facing the road can be quite noisy. Friendly staff Could improve the little things that add to the experience such as pump dispensers for body wash/shampoo etc, glass screen rather than plastic curtain over shower and not offered fresh milk. - Christine (8/5): Convenient motel close to all Picton’s attractions. - The Gateway Motel is excellently located a short walk from the seafront , restaurants, tourist attractions, railway station and ferry terminal.It is a basic motel with no air conditioning but the fans served us well. The room was comfortable and quiet, the staff friendly and helpful.
