Guest Reviews
- john (6/5): - loved the old style of property. For an unknown reason did not get the apartment I had paid for and the one given to us had not been properly cleaned.
- Dave (10/5): - Nice place in great location.
- Deanne (8/5): - Overall good but give a bit more attention to cleaning bathroom.
- Darren (2/5): - I booked the accommodation early in the week and was disappointed when at 8.26pm the night before, when they advised me that they had double booked and I would receive a full refund. This was very disappointing as I am not able to cancel within the 24 hour, but it appears that they can.
I am still waiting the refund.
- Simon (10/5): - Property was as per the photo's, communication was great, arrived an hour earlier than expected and asked if we could check in early and we could which was great. Location is great, right on the main street, close to pubs and shops.
- Tracy (8/5): - Great central location within walking distance to pubs and cafes. The best bed I’ve slept in apart from my own. The shower was fantastic and the bathroom was nice and clean. The only negatives were that we had to re-tune the TV and there was some pealing paint and spider webs scattered around the walls.
- Garry (10/5): - The property was clean and comfortable.
It had all the amenities one could want.
The location was excellent being in the heart of Mansfield
I would book here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Second time staying at this lovely hotel. The only downside to the suite was no social sitting area in the room for everyone, although there is a common room downstairs which is nice and comfortable.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Unique and comfortable.
Didn't like only two towels for two adults for a three night stay.
- Mohammed (10/5): - Was there for business
The place I stayed at had a very grand feeling. Nice and quiet with very warmth feeling as you walk in.
- Tatsuhiro (8/5): - Good location and big bathtub.
The design of the room was so nice.
However,I was worried about the dirt in the bath and the dirt on the cup.
so I washed them myself.
Other than that it was very good.
- Samantha (10/5): - Fantastic boutique hotel. Clean and quite in a central area of Manfield. Unique loft style with bedroom upstairs and self contained kitchen downstairs fulfilling all our needs.
- Leesa (10/5): - An absolutely delightful and fuss-free stay in a beautiful room.
From the entrance with it's stunning stairway up to my room 'Boudoir', it was oozing with period style and class.
Wonderfully comfortable, warm and cozy despite the dropping temperatures outside, with everything you could possibly need within a short walk.
This place is cut from a different cloth and I'll most certainly be back to stay again.
- gladyshH2436IY (4/5): Very disappointed experience. - Not a great experience. We found dirty surface that had not been cleaned for a long time. No heater in bathroom. Light in bedroom didnt work. The worse thing was the most disgusting sewerage smell. Rang owner sent son in-law to check it out. Who couldn’t believe how bad it was The owner couldn’t be bothered to ring us back to see how we were. Not happy!! Room very small nowhere to put your cases and very steep and narrow staircase. Linen in the bathroom not all replaced, not good enough.
- johnsD9414YX (10/5): Boutique elegance - Lovely boutique accommodation in the heart of Mansfield. Central to everything, yet quiet. Great restoration/ transformation of old bank building. Very elegant and tastefully decorated rooms. We had a refreshing spa bath in our room. Well stocked bar fridge if you needed that. Complimentary pod coffee. Air conditioning. Very comfortable king bed.
Easy to deal with management.
Thoroughly recommend.
- U4330ITdeniser (2/5): Charged Double and not refunded! - In September 2022, my husband booked and paid by credit card for 2 rooms for November 2022
When we arrived at the rooms in November, I was asked to pay and did as I assumed that our previous payment had not been processed. However, upon checking our credit card statement, I discovered we had paid in September and paid again for the same booking in November.
I phoned the owner, Susan, who said she would look into it. Over the next few months, I have sent multiple emails with attached evidence and called several times. She has not responded. I am now lodging a complaint with the relevant government department. I advise all guests to be very wary
- Sian (10/5): - Very exclusive
- Lesley (4/5): - We were disappointed that when we asked for a credit fron THE DECK as my wife came down with Covid, we have not heard from them. We have always booked through Expedia as you have the cancellation option, not with THE DECK, we have stayed their numerous times, motel next time.
- Jane (10/5): - A lovely boutique property to stay in the heart of Mansfield. Beautifully appointed Sue was extremely accomodating.
- Brian (8/5): - No email received 24 hours before stay, as stated, and only got door code 1 hour before arrival? No contact phone with owner.
- Ryan (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Helen (10/5): - A beautiful experience with comfy beds, the stair case is not for the faint hearted with heavy baggage for the upstairs bedrooms. Host was easy to contact and follow up lost property promptly located and return arranged. Highly recommend this hotel. Will most definitely stay again!!
- Tracey (6/5): - Bed was uncomfortable and it was noisy.
- Kristen (8/5): - It was ok
- Chantra (10/5): - The room was very cleanliness and nice decoration. I would love to come back.
- Stephane (10/5): - Love the decorations, style and good taste
- Sophie (8/5): - Deck Quarters was absolutely charming & a lovely stay 👍
- Budzlola (6/5): Tired and not so clean - Should have been and could have been perfect, however the room was not particularly clean, the bed was appalling and had a big dip in it.. Very obvious that nothing had been updated or maintained since being opened. Certainly not peaceful with water running through the pipes in the wall that the bedhead was on, people running up and down the stairs and doors slamming late into the night. Whilst the location was brilliant we won’t be staying again!
- Connor (10/5): - Great place, perfect for a weekend away or even an overnight stay. Photos very accurate and just beautiful boutique place. Maybe slightly expensive but nothing else like it in Mansfield
- Selena (10/5): - Location was fantastic,
Clean room, welcoming and served it purpose perfectly
No contact with any staff due to fantastic coded entrance system but helpful hints at the property for the surrounding area.
would stay here again, very comfortable and easy.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Certainly lovely and clean, decor a bit over the top but in great order. I would probably swap the chaise taking up a large space for a small table and a couple of chairs so we could sit and eat or read, write. First time I have had entry by code with no personal contact at all. I guess I am old fashioned and prefer some personal contact but understand the world has changed. Probably feel it is a bit overpriced for no real service, Comfy bed and very convenient, great bathroom (shower could be higher for my tall partner). Very pleasant overall
- Kaye (8/5): - Stayed in the loft room which is on the ground floor but there is a spiral staircase which may be a problem for some. The kitchenette (well equipped) within this room is however large enough to store luggage and access to a sunny yard gives this room a definite appeal. Bathroom adjoining the bedroom is large and clean. All over a very positive experience.
- Adam (10/5): - Easy to book. Instructions were easy and beds were extremely comfortable
- Anthony (10/5): - Great location and spa was perfect
- Nardia (10/5): - Centre of town so easy to do dinner etc
Charming property with very comfortable beds!! Thanks for help and flexibility Susan!
- MELISSA (10/5): - Beautiful room clean n comfy. Well located
- Trevor (10/5): - Beautiful
- Kerrie (10/5): - The amenities where very beautiful, we were very comfortable. The location was great right in the middle of town.
I would highly recommend a stay at the Quarter Deck .
- Joanne (10/5): - Fantastic to have such a great location for a special night out in town.
- Kelvin (8/5): Great location - Ideally located in the heart of Mansfield. Comfortable and spacious accommodation. Very good amenities. Cleaning is done to a very high standard. We enjoyed our stay.
- Sally (6/5): - The room décor is as pictured. What isn't shown is the tea/coffee making facilities and bar fridge area, which was a let down compared to the look and feel of the rest of the place. The bathroom is tired and could do with a good clean, as well as a box of tissues!
Nice and central, but I would class it as over-priced.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I didn’t like that Wotif had not notified them of my booking. The cost had been debited from my credit card however The Deck Quarters did not have my reservation even though I had email confirmation from Wotif.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Parking was difficult and stairs were hard with luggage but otherwise it was great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a great place to stay. Centrally located and so clean and comfortable. Just great.
- Alberto (10/5): Great location and very cozy - Very cozy, great location.
- Stuart (8/5): - Remote check in. Look out for the nformation supplied by text from a non-identified source.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful room, stunning decor, very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall the accommodation was good central to the centre of town. And we enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The Deck Quarters is in an old bank building. The room had high ceilings and large windows making it airy and light. It was tastefully decorated with quality furniture.
The bathroom had been cleaned but needed a thorough clean as there was mould on the tile grout, dust on the top of the tiles and back of the door and cobwebs on the window.
We were disappointed that there were no champagne flutes provided.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, beautiful old building with lots of character :)
- RnNKepa (2/5): Let down ......filthy!!!! - The place looked fantastic it was comfortable location great.....however the towels were disgusting. Old make up stains on towels plus one face washer - (3 of us were staying and we only got one face washer between a group of friends to share!!!)
We text host to ask for clean towels and she didn’t bother replying- because of this I would never go back or recommend the place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location in centre of Mansfield and quiet due to secondary glazing
Lovely old building with lots of character
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wi
- Ian (8/5): Mansfield trip - Bathrobes were hard and scratchy and were to uncomfortable to wear. Toilet seat was loose.
I couldn’t find salt or pepper in the kitchen.
I was shocked to find a spiral staircase up to the bedroom and bathroom. I think it should be mentioned in the advertising. I did not have a problem- but my wife would have if she had been with me.
- sheereel (4/5): Underwhelming - Had high expectations of a boutique accommodation, sadly disappointed, could see what they were aiming for but the cleanliness of the apartment left a lot to be desired. Cobweb broom certainly wouldn’t go astray and coffee cups had brown stains. Did expect more especially in the climate we are in at present. Decor was good, location was good .
- Ktag62 (10/5): Everything you want - Spent a night at this boutique accomodation. Its a great location, great room, great views, it had it all. The bed was just superb quality furniture and fixtures very good taste. Walk everywhere you want to go to, restaurants and pubs nearby.
- AlanC (8/5): - Comfortable stay in a well maintained property right in the heart of town
- Anthony (10/5): Great place to relax and enjoy - Great location and lovely boutique accommodation, will stay tgere again when next in Mansfield
- Tracey (8/5): - Lovely spacious room & centrally located. Only downside was the noisy pub across the road
- peterbE9422AG (8/5): Comfortable and well appointed - The Deck Quarters is right in the center of Mansfield, but it is not noisy. It is a good place to spend a few days at and there is quite a lot to do within easy reach of the town. The hotel is a converted bank, so expect tall ceilings, sturdy construction and a prominent position. The Deck Quarters is all of these but comfortable with loads of cushions and chintz. There is no service and once you get the key code, you are on your own, but with easy parking and plenty of local cafes, convenience stores and pubs nearby, it's value for money stop off.
- L5659PNkarenh (10/5): Exactly Like the Photos - Easy check in texted with code to apartment Beautiful boutique apartment comfy large bed lwith robes , deep spa to soak in after exploring Mt Bullah and beautiful towns around Mansfield walking distance to restaurants and shops .Any Requests asked when booking were fulfilled .Thanyou Sue for making this stay a memorable weekend.
We will definitely be telling our family &friends
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Such a great place to stay right in the heart of town, and the high country.
- Gerald (10/5): - Great location, beautifully appointed, quiet & relaxing location to enjoy the town.
- Justin (8/5): - It’s not too bad apart from the time we went that the town is in major fire risk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Service and concept was excellent. Ideally positioned in town
- Leanne (8/5): Needs a little tightening up - The pass key code was not emailed to us before arrival we had to call and get the number. The lady admitted she had forgot. The bathroom was grubby, lots of dead insects and dust and mould in the shower. The main room was clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful old building , great location and double glazed windows so no noise factor from the street .....
- Verified traveler (10/5): lovely stop - The room we had Grande Vista is lovely and tastefully decorated.
Mansfield itself is a pretty town worth a stop if you are travelling.
Please consider that it is not an attended hotel, so you must contact them to receive an access code and three rooms are located on the second floor of a steep staircase , so might not be suitable to carry heavier luggage.
- Nic29e (10/5): Beautiful stay - This is a beautiful place to stay , all the rooms are unique in their own way and the finishing touches throughout were great . Loved the lounge downstairs as it was a nice place to unwind after dinner with a wine and friends.
The rooms themselves are very tastefully done and as I said before they are all unique.
Bed was great and the room it self had plenty of room , the bathroom was generous with a shower and a spa bath .Everything was clean and tidy and close to everything . You are able to walk to the restaurants with ease. There is no personal greeting ,it is all through pinpads which adds to the privacy . Communication with Sue was fantastic and prompt. I did not find being on the corner noisy at all.
I would be more than happy to stay here again because f the service from Sue, the location and it was a beautiful property .
Thanks again Sue
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was exactly as it looked in the pictures. Perfect location. Comfy bed, felt at home. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I thought it was gorgeous. And had a bit of a wow factor to it.
- davidmB6027HN (10/5): Absolutely fabulous ! - We were looking for properties in the area and chanced on this place.
Decor is amazing , nice touches everywhere, spotlessly clean, great location can walk everywhere.
The bath is great, (shower head a bit low) restaurants close by.
Would go back in a heartbeat!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful room, easy check in process, great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great little apartment in the centre of Mansfield. You can walk everywhere!
- nad_carr (10/5): Tricky to find but a jewel - This place is hard to find with the entry hidden way but once you find it you will be impressed!
We had an overnight stay here in ‘The Grande Vista’ room. It was beautiful!
Great view of the corner street, close walk to everything, very clean and a great size room.
The bed was very comfortable and the spa was spacious enough for two people.
It was very clean and the staff are very helpful and professional. The price is pretty reasonable given the location.
I would recommend this place .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great self service accommodation in the heart of town. Highly recommended
- flyawaydb2017 (10/5): Lovely stay - We’re just checking out after two lovely nights at The Deck Quarters. It was a treat to stay in the historic 1880’s building (originally Bank of NSW) featuring beautiful original heritage elements, high ceilings and lead light glass.
Welcomed by local chocolates, original polished hardwood floors and a thoughtfully furnished room we knew we were in for a great stay.
The two bedroom Westwing Suite had plenty of space, comfy beds and the bathroom with a large jet bath. Pleasingly the bathroom included plenty of amenities for our stay.
The CBD location is close to a fantastic range of restaurants, cafes and shopping. We highly recommend Bos Taurus just a 4 minute walk down the main street.
Overall highly recommended and excellent value for money. We would definitely return if staying in the area again.
- CLW062 (6/5): Difficult to find - We arrived in the dark and rain and spent quite a while wondering around trying to find the entrance. In the end I had to go to the pub across the road to ask. It’s an unmarked door way at the side of the building - the A4 laminated sign cannot be seen from the foot path and the doorway is unlit. Not a great start.
We stayed in the Loft. It’s cute but very tight. Note the spiral staircases is not suitable for taking standard size luggage up and there’s nowhere to put it up there anyway. Noise transfer from other rooms is loud. You can hear every word of the other guests coming up and down the stairs to the other rooms. But it was cosy and warm despite the hard floors.
- Belinda (10/5): Excellent room - Very clean room with beautiful furnishing. The spa bath is a great bonus and the king bed very comfortable. The hotel is very centrally located and the room is spacious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Deck Quarters exceeded all of our expectations.
The property is in an ideal location and the secure entrance was easy to find with the instructions supplied by the manager.
The room was luxurious and clean. We had a great sleep due to the comfortable bed and no external noise.
We will definitely be staying again - Highly Recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - its old world charm , and character, very warm and welcoming,,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great old building well restored in the heart of Mansfield
- James (6/5): Could be the best in town but.. - One of the nicer more modernised places in town. Well equipped and great location. The only thing letting it down is the cleanliness... cobwebs and thick dust makes what could be a perfect hotel seem unloved. Terrible shower head you have to crouch against the wall to use adds to feeling that the owners don’t pay a lot of attention to the building..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Centrally located, easy to check in and out. Close to good places to eat.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Robot hotel. Manager never appeared. Access is by an emailed code for the street door. Tea bag container empty.
- Ayesha (10/5): Great set up! - Beautifully decorated and clear instructions for access.
- Rosemary (8/5): Nice comfortable room. Beautiful town - Nice room we were happy with the stay. Beautiful country town.
- Angelos (10/5): A+ - Stunning room and amazing Spa!! Thank you A+ !
- V (10/5): - The hotel was centrally locates in Mansfield. It was close tot he bus station so we were able to just walk down the road to catch the bust up to mount Buller. There were a lot of all day parking spots near by too if you wanted to take the bus up the mountain. The room itself was cozy, I loved the bedding used and The heater warmed up the room enough so we could just chill out in bathrobes. Definitely would love to Stay at the deck quarters next time we’re travelling through.
- ivy (10/5): Very well located - Check in super easy and response super quick. Love the room, very quiet and in center of everything. Only downside I would say is not much in kitchen, a microwave oven could really help. But overall very happy.
- Jane (10/5): Great stay - Beautiful accommodation, great location, easy check in. Highly recommend
- Klaus (10/5): Best location and period luxury - Large spacious room with all modern conveniences.
Period styled rooms with home like feel.
Floorboards and fire place a winner
Stylish furniture
Lots of room everywhere just like home..
Amazing location
Walk meters only to all shops,Pubs and Restaurants
Walk to Mt Buller Bus Line to take their service up the mountain if you dont want to drive your car
The owners of this Boutique Hotel have done an amazing job and my wife and I will certainly tell all our family and friends to stay there.
Many thanks again Susan for great experience at your Hotel
- Courtney (10/5): Gorgeous Accomodation - Sue was so helpful. Easy parking, Room was really clean. Bed was soooo comfy. Definitely recommend the loft 👍
- Jacqueline (10/5): Old World Charm. - Loved the comfort and charm of The Deck Quarters. Set in a grand old Victorian building with 12’ ceilings, this boutique accommodation offers something a little different. We recommend and would book it again. Great value. We discovered the TV remote control was missing batteries but after texting the owner, within 15 mins this problem was resolved. The location is great with many dining options only mins walk away. Although a central location on the Main Street of Mansfield ,there was no street noise and were not aware of any other guests being present. Very peaceful. Parking on the street right outside the building was easily accessible at no cost. The bathroom area was spotless with a fantastic double spa and the bed very comfortable. A great stop over for breaking up a Buller trip or for sight seeing the Mansfield area.
We were very happy with The Deck Quarters and enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room is clean and got air-condition works very well, except the bed is too soft.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay - Lovely stay. Walking distance from the Main Street and all the local pubs.
Comfortable room with a beautiful big spa bath
- Cinda (10/5): Great place to stay, very clean and comfortable. - We had a lovely stay, and everything was perfect. One thing I would suggest to the owners is getting a dimmer switch on the hallway light. But that was my only downside. Beautiful room.
- Tina (10/5): - Central location, lovely accommodation, nice spa, comfy bed, beautiful decor
- Verified traveler (10/5): Right in the heart of Mansfield - Classic boutique style accommodation. Easy digital security access.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect spot in Mansfield - Really lovely room. Two problems though, the heating was very noisy all night and mirror too high in bathroom so couldn't see much in it if you aren't ar least 5foot 6 inches
