• M Johnstone (10/5): Our second stay here - It was our second time staying at Settlers Cottage. A wonderful cosy and character filled accommodation with friendly staff/owners. Lots of attention to detail and the location is superb. Short walk to cafes, shops and walking tracks. Stunning in Arrowtown with the trees in full autumn colours. 2ply toilet paper Electric blanket and topper didn't really fit the bed and kept coming loose and clumping up during the night

• Keith (6/5): Not quite what we were looking for - Well it looked quaint and cutesy and location was terrific and owners were very welcoming. Probably themed to be olde worldly but the spiders and worn furniture and lumpy bed didn’t really do it for us - if I was 30 years younger probably fun!
• DebFulton (8/5): A genuine settlers cottage accomodation. - The vibe was very cottagy which we liked. The room was very spacious, good shower, and a comfy bed. Had 2 ceramic elements for light cooking which suited us. There are two outdoor seating areas for each unit to maximize the sun and the location was so close to everything. Our hosts were super friendly and gave helpful info for places to eat and things to do. Loved it. We did run out of hot water the first morning but not on the days afterward.

• Eva M. (6/5): Very disappointing - Great location, looks cute and cosy from the outside, spacious free parking, it has criendly owners and there's potential... Single hot and cold water taps on all basins, terribly dated clutter (plastic flowers and old-fashioned cushions) everywhere, hardly any room to put anything in the bathroom, no wardrobe and not clean at all. It's certainly not shabby-chic. I have painted many items with chalk paint and given it a stressed look, however this is just dirty looking and mismatched and not 'charming' at all.

Spacious. Old world. Heritage buildings. Nice gardens. Off street parking. Great hosts. Sky TV. Best described as “well used”, could do with a refresh. Wear and tear evident in the furnishings. Could be elevated to an amazing stay experience at minimum cost but a lot of TLC and attention to detail required. Mix of styles (old and new, italianate, modernist, mid century, 1990’s etc a bit confusing).

Gracious and welcoming, our hosts were quick to answer questions and provide recommendations. Ample on-site parking; walking distance to Arrowtown’s many restaurants and shops; terrific water pressure in shower; practical and well equipped kitchenette . . . Milk for morning coffee is a bonus!

Good living-dining, and usable kitchen (including french press and ground coffee). Overall very well furnished and interesting. Very easy ~3-block walk to town center. In this unit the shower instructions give REALLY high water pressure and empty the hot water tank in 1 medium shower. The black lever at the showerhead can be used to reduce pressure and hot-water usage. Queen bed is pretty comfortable, but sags a bit in the middle.

Wonderful gardens to enjoy Very close 5 min walk to the historical township of arrowtown . Owners were lovely and eager to help, Even helped us use the onsite laundry facilities. A great stay and highly recommend Nothing to dislike at all !
