Guest Reviews
- Melissa (10/5): - Close to everything, laundry and electric blanket
- Emma (10/5): - I'm quite impressed with this house, given it wasnt very expensive. Very spacious 3 bedroom house. Has multiple different sitting areas, and large parking space. Heaters and electric blankets in each room a bonus! If i had to find something to complain about, there is no oven, which seems strange given the large full size kitchen. We had to improvise cooking our pizza in the frying pan!
Late check in was very simple and communicated beforehand from reception.
- Nishad (10/5): - Great place and well maintained
- Bradley (4/5): - The Photo on the Site showed very presentable newish units in well tended gardens. However I got a very old unit with peeling paint mould and a major Ant problem. A Major disappointment considering the Beauty of the GOR area
- gsiva (10/5): - The accommodation is conveniently located near the Twelve Apostles and several other stunning natural attractions. Good stay.
- David (10/5): - Great location, very quiet, excellent accommodation & very comfortable.
Good kitchen, super comfortable warm beds(electric blankets) good shower, easy parking with plenty of room. Washing machine & dryer.
Highly recommend
- Lawrence (6/5): - Location is just outside town limit. The place is quiet which is nice.
- gurucharan (10/5): - the property was clean. sheets, towels were too good to use. kettle, toaster and utensils were not that great. overall stay was good.
- Kevin and Tracy (6/5): Very Average - The property is tired and needs a deep clean. There was a musty smell in the property. This cleared when the windows were opened but this was far from ideal on a cool day/night. There was no comfy seating (armchairs or sofa) in the property. The beds were reasonably comfortable.
- Tanya (8/5): - Lovely cabin but would be better with a sofa.
- Jueun (8/5): - Great value. A bit old but got everything we needed, even rice cooker.
- Kylie (10/5): - Very comfy beds and quiet environment. Good location and very friendly staff. We love this place.
- Yeevon (6/5): - We were assigned the only cabin on the property (as opposed to the brick units for the rest of the property) so the amenities were lacking. Contrary to booking confirmation, there was no laundry and no couch or sitting room. Suggest moving forward you clarify these details so there is no misunderstanding.
- Leanne (10/5): - Great location and very clean.
- Selvaraj (8/5): - It’s a nice place to rest for a day along our road trip. It has everything you need for a short stay. Check in and check out was easy even without a reception.
- Tara (10/5): - Was a very nice stay. Perfect for what we needed
- Jasna (6/5): - The property was two bedrooms and clean / with a god sized kitchen and internal laundry facilities. There were dedicated parking spots for each room. It was very quiet at night.
We ran into issues with dining out as the Main Street was under construction (not the fault of the venue)
- MELVIN (8/5): - Easy check-in & check-out process.
- Sue (8/5): - Good value for money, clean, warm and quiet
- Debra (6/5): - Communication, check in was excellent.
Unfortunately our transportable type accommodation was very old and tired which was ok for a one night stay but would have been disappointing for a longer period.
- Anthony (6/5): - We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin. Beware if you choose the cabin that it is a very old run down cabin. There are no pictures of it on the site, youll see the other units and assume that the cabin must be reasonable, but it's not. Its old and a bit dirty. Constant dripping taps, a filthy, rusty and flaking range hood above the stove. Its very small too with nowhere to relax.
- Mee Kien (8/5): - The bed mattress is too soft and probably old, it sinks after lying on it. Need to improve on this.
- john (10/5): - Oldish building with spotless cleanliness great staff
Fountain like hot water and large spacious room with full sized bathroom
Reverse cycle heater ready and set to go
Compared to other motels
Really best value
- Paul (8/5): - Well appointed although dated. The shower felt unsafe.
- Brenton (10/5): - Nice unit, well laid out with everything required. Reasonably priced.
- Barney (10/5): - Simple, clean, warm and nice. Would definitely stay again
- LYN (8/5): - Good parking.
- Gregory (8/5): - Individual units at property was nice. short walk to some limited dining options. it was good for 1 (or 2) nights.
- John (8/5): - The unit is comfortable, clean and well equipped. The check in process was difficult until another guest helped us with a contact number. Overall an enjoyable stay.
- Daina (10/5): - This was a lovely property in a great location
- Karol (8/5): - The unit was located in a quiet area of town but walkable to any and all necessities.
The room was spacious however we did note some items that should have been cleaned up, ie. small piece of old fruit under the desk.
The front staff were friendly and excellent. Very proud of the town and sharing what was available to see/do.
- Ann (8/5): - Hard to find reception. We looked around and lucky to meet a resident. It would be good if we can get email instructions in advance.
- MARION (10/5): - A comfortable unit. Port Campbell is small and everything is in walking distance. Easy check in and out
- Samantha (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Summer’s Rest. Very much as described and really appreciated the additional extras such as milk, coffee and soap. Great stop off for our Great Ocean Road adventure!
- Howard (8/5): - second bedroom and beds are too small for two adults
- Annie (10/5): - Lovely and clean apartment. Had a good sleep. Kitchen had all the essentials. Location was great for us within easy driving distance of many of the spots we wanted to visit.
- Andi (6/5): - It was adequate accommodation. A bit pricey in my opinion for what it was. It had an awful smell which was likely a combination of it being old and locked up for long periods. On the positive it’s roomy and well located.
On a strange note, the tv turned on by itself and started playing a movie (Ratatouille). Assuming perhaps it was cast from the main building. Very odd.
- Kevin (8/5): - Comfortable beds. Very well equipped kitchen. Good shower.
- Finn (4/5): - Internet is not working. Couldn't even log in to give a review. Desperately in need of renovation, but the bathroom was fine because it had been renovated. We would not recommend this place to anyone.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient stay close to the 12 Apostles - The location is great as you can walk to Port Campbell beach (5mins walk) where there are restaurants and cafes. It’s 10km from the 12 Apostles and 6km to the Loch Arch Gorge which are beautiful sights.
The 2 bedrooms unit we stayed in were very clean, however no couch and the bedrooms were very small. The unit is older and can do with some update, but the electric blankets on the beds were wonderfully warm.
- Carl (10/5): - Everything we expected. Kitchen had pots pans etc to make meal time easy.
- Mei (10/5): - very clean with full kitchen equipments!
- Peter (10/5): - Summers Rest Was A Lovely Place To Stay And Cathy And Staff We’re Great People.
We Thoroughly Recommend!!
- John (10/5): - Met my needs perfectly for an overnight stay.
- Karen K H (10/5): - It’s a nice, well equipped accommodation, comfortable beds. staff are nice and flexible for changing night of staying when the rooms are available. It’s a highly recommended accommodation 👍
- Lee (8/5): - We were very impressed with the unique homely appeal of Summers Rest Units.
- Luke (10/5): - Great value for money close to town
- Kathryn (10/5): - The lodge was in easy walking distance of everything in Port Campbell and was clean and comfortable for our purposes. The owner was very pleasant. A good find for a short stay.
- Chin (10/5): - Overall good
- Philip (10/5): Holiday - Lovely unit, great place to stay.
- Thomas (8/5): - We stayed in the 3 bedroom house which is an older property than some of the other cabins on site, very spacious and well maintained, clear instructions left for self check in, loved the efficient heating, laundry and comfortable bed. Easy walk into town. Easy drive to all the wonderful sights on the Great Ocean Road.
- Sameer (10/5): - It was a comfortable stay. Good value for a restful night.
- Hazel (8/5): - Comfortable beds, Netflix was a huge bonus, smallest kitchen ever. We had a 4 bedder for 2 people. I don't know how four people would fit, nevertheless it was very pleasant.
- Cathy Van (4/5): - We stayed in the standard queen room, it's really an old cabin. There is VERY little bench space, nowhere to put food. No sink in the kitchen so had to wash dishes in the bathroom, nowhere to drain them either. Water pressure poor, electric blanket didn't work one side, bed hard & uncomfortable. Couch faces the bed with no leg room. I think the 2 BR ones are probably very nice - should have tried those!!
- Ian (8/5): - Pleasant premises, matresses were little to be desired
- Michael (10/5): - There were only 7 units, well spaced out, gardens are well maintained. Key collection was easy. The two bedroom unit provided space for our luggage & would also suit a family of four.
This was our first booking at Summers Rest & we would book Summers Rest again
- Nathan (10/5): - Nice and easy
- Joo Cheong (8/5): - Second stay at this property. Quiet and convenient.
- Wilfred (8/5): - Quietness and location
- Rosie (8/5): - Great 2 bedroom unit.
Had everything we needed for our stay.
We would definitely stay again!
- Rebecca (4/5): - Was really disappointing. We turned up to a lovely selection of cabins and we were in the Static Caravan, which was cold, uncomfortable, the light pollution from outside came straight through the curtains, making it like daylight inside, uncomfortable beds, and the rain on the roof was like being in a tent. Worst nights sleep all holiday. Had to wash all the kitchen bits, as some were dirty. Glad it was only one night, definitely won’t be returning.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Very welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable unit. Walking distance to township and places to eat. Would definitely book again!
- Sandra (10/5): - Property was clean and as advertised. Close distance to main street. Perfect location for travelling the Great Ocean Road
- Mary (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Well presented, clean and great for a base to travel and explore the area.
- Karen (8/5): - Nice quiet location with an easy walk to town.
- Brett (8/5): - The appartments were better than I anticipated
The only letdown was the shower, it had low water pressure and was hard to regulate but overall quite an impressive place to stay especially for the price
- Adrian (10/5): - Lovely peaceful surroundings.
Was able to relax and go out and about with
no hassle.
Very Clean.
- Alphonsus (10/5): - Clean and convenient location. Everything was very good.
- Thilina Chamath (2/5): - It says units on top of the page and then when we go there, we were given a small cabin for four people. They don't show proper pictures, if we Shown the cabin photos we will never go ahead with this hotel.
- Cyril (10/5): - Good to stay with family.
- DAVID (10/5): - Nice well maintained property close to town and decent amenities. Would stay again
- Colleen (10/5): - beautiful family friendly cabins with plenty of space
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great little unit perfect for a small family. However the beds were very uncomfortable, and mattresses seemed pretty old. Could definitely do with some small cosmetic updates with new mattresses and updates to decor (bright blue carpet and curtains). Another thing they should consider is having some fans in each bedroom as it got quite warm overnight.
- Jorge (8/5): - Great place, spacious, clean and safe
- Elmar (2/5): - We booked a new two-bedroom cabin, but were allocated to an old single room
- Cathy (10/5): - Great location
- Joanna (4/5): - You get what you pay for... unfortunately we chose wrong. soap would have been a nice touch in the shower
- Timothy (10/5): - Very well kept condition
- Bronwyn (10/5): - It was quite spacious and very clean in a quiet end of town. A peaceful stay. No cooking facilities in our room just a kettle. Good parking
- Carola (8/5): - Clean and new sofas
- Kesav (10/5): - We had a good stay at a perfect location (~5 minutes drive to 12 Apostles). The cabin was clean with all basic amenities
provided. However our cabin had a split heating system, which wasn’t switched ON prior to our arrival - took us quite sometime to relax after a long drive.
- Angela (10/5): - Good communication, great value, clean and well-equipped
- Peter (10/5): - Great location, very comfortable
- Geoffrey (6/5): - For the price, we cannot complain. It was good value but the check-in process was a little confusing.
- Michelle (6/5): - It was a shame that the heater had not been put on in anticipation of our arrival as it had been a very cold day. Also it was great that all the beds were fitted with electric blankets but one room had no working power points to use these or the lamps on the bed side tables. A little more cutlery would have been appreciated but very thankful for the dishwasher with the quick cycle
Would look to stay again when back in the area
- Katrina (4/5): - Place was smaller than i left it would be and not suitable for adults and teenagers, woke up to ants all in the bathroom sink, ants up the wall and ants in the kitchen along the bench, thankfully we only stayed for one night.
- Mal (10/5): - Very convenient, lots of room. All fixtures you could require and everything worked as expected.
- Kevin (8/5): - Represents good value for short term stay.
- Kellie (4/5): - Look I mean it wasn’t great. The cleanliness of the place was terrible, we had a dead moth on the sink in the bathroom, someone else’s hair on the toilet and stuck to the door. No soap for hand washing or showering, glasses were dirty and the place was out dated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and we left feeling tired from no sleep. I will say the place was quiet but I also think it was due to it being off season.
- Kerstin (4/5): - The cabin we booked was nothing like on the photos. It was old and uncomfortable, outdated, but clean.
- Muhammad (8/5): - Excellent place near all attractions, 2nd time staying at the accommodation and had a beautiful stay as always. Nice and clean, cosy beds. Only issue we had was flies, had too many flies inside the property this time, must have left some door open. But rest was all just beautiful. Definitely will be back if in the area.
- Irene (10/5): Exceptional standard - We were so impressed with the standard of cleanliness and tidiness of our unit. The tiles sparked despite having been there for a few years. It was exceptional. The unit was thoughtfully fitted out with all that we needed to ensure a comfortable stay.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, tidy units and upgrade was welcomed. Lovely managers
- Mary (8/5): - Great accomodation
- Margaret (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, friendly, well organised loved our stay thankyou
- Joanne (8/5): - This was good value for money.
- Cathy (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable loved it
- Angela (8/5): - Well equipped, needs a nonstick frying pan!
- Ranjana (10/5): - were upgraded by the friendly staff, fantastic room, amenities, internet a bit slow, very clean, comfortable, good heating, electric blankets were fantastic, very comfortable lounge, hot water tap in wash basin a bit grumpy, overhaul, first class....thanks
- Verified traveler (10/5): All the basics and comfortable - We stayed in a cabin and parked our car right in front. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Cooked a simple dinner and had a quiet night after an exhausting day driving through the Great Ocean Road and exploring local attractions.
