- Tan (9/5): Lovely stay in a peranakan house - The property is in the old peranakan houses, located just a street behind the busier jonker street. Makes it easier to explore the historical part of the town. The hotel has retained many of the Peranakan architectural features and decoration within the hotel. I particularly like the antiques furnitures and paintings within the main lobby; the peranakan cabinets potteries , in the inner halls. The courtyard breakfast space and the other courtyard garden space provides conducive seating spaces. There only one lift in this hotel, way finding is not very obvious. If you need lift access, would be good to request rooms nearer to lift.

The hotel is full of character, with a charming Peranakan design and a peaceful courtyard that makes it feel like a hidden oasis. Our family room was spacious and comfortable. Location in the heart of Jonker Street was unbeatable, allowing us full flexibility to enjoy it sights, shopping and dining. A big plus is the private parking which is rare in this narrow and busy area. It was of utmost convenience since we drove here from Singapore. Breakfast surprised us indeed, simple and enjoyable in the lovely courtyard setting. Overall, a great blend of heritage charm, space, and location. Would definitely stay again!

The hotel is full of heritage charm and feels like stepping into a beautifully restored Peranakan home. The courtyard is especially relaxing and a great place to unwind. Rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and perfect for families. The location in Jonker Street is fantastic—just a short walk to all the main attractions. Having private parking in this area is a huge bonus and made everything very convenient. Nothing significant—facilities are slightly traditional in style, but this adds to the overall charm and experience.

- Megan (9/5): Great location and beautiful property - Beautiful colonial property with a melting pot of cultural influences in its decor just like the city itself. Chinese porcelain and an open air garden area that feels like you stepped into Portugal. The spa was wonderful - we did a massage and facial package and both were excellent. Great way to spend midday when it’s too hot to be out walking around town. Easy walking distance to Jonker Street and the river. Best water pressure and hottest shower we’ve had in Southeast Asia (and we had just come from a stay at the Ascott in KL!). Reception staff were all exceptional and went above and beyond to welcome us and help us figure out where to eat the foods we were keen to try and see the things we wanted to in the short time (two days) we had in Melaka. Breakfast is quite a spread with great variety of sweet and savory foods. Rooms were a bit small with a very narrow path between the end of the bed to the bathroom.

Очень аутентичное здание отеля. Отличный завтрак для такого небольшого отеля! Очень доброжелательный персонал! Так же из плюсов можно отметить просторный номер. Плохо работала сантехника (смыв в унитазе, сток в раковине), довольно старая мебель, но для любителей антиквариата будет нормально, постельное белье было чистым, но со старыми пятнами.. это не очень приятно было.

- Reacher666 (8/5): Lovely historic hotel in the heart of Melaka. - Stayed 2 nights with a tour group. Hotel was in a great central location, beautifully decorated in the lobby and communal areas. Breakfast was nice but the beans were in a double tureen along with meat which meant I couldn’t have any as they were contaminated with the condensation dripping on them. Basic food hygiene. Staff were lovely. Rooms were small and basic and the bathroom small with no window. Nowhere to put 2 big suitcases. We enjoyed our stay as we were only in the room a short while.

The hotel is beautiful and has so much history. Almost like stepping back into time. We highly recommend this hotel. Lacking hot water in the shower. The room was a bit small but not unusual given the history of the hotel. Beds were a little on the hard side.

- Nadiah (3/5): Not gonna stay again neither recommending. Many other boutique hotel along the same row or block! - 1- Location of hotel- walk in distance to Jonker Walk, Riverside View, Stafhuys. Plenty of coffeshops, eateries, Sunday morning flea markets. 2- The history and heritage values of the antiques and architecture. 3- Taste of buffet breakfast is quite okay, to add on price per head for breakfast is as cheap as RM35 4- The greetings, attitude and reccomendations from the hotel frontdesk staff and I think their supervisor. Very warm and friendly. 1- NO BIDET at both toilet in my room- I booked for Suite Duplex- paid for RM600 including text. 2- I called twice to check on both room and availability of parking. The frontdesk staff said I can stop in front the hotel, asked for the guard to show me parking for hotel guest. When I reached in front hotel, the guard told me parking was already full!! He asked me to go park at a different hotel - Tengkera Hotel- which quite far from the hotel, pay RM15 and walk back to this hotel to claim. I tell u with the weather, the walking distance is no joke! There is ride to commute the guest back from Tengkera to Puri Hotel! 3- Rude guard, not helpful, zerooo consideration! 4- The Suite Duplex floor- I can tell its never been mopped at all. 5- Pillow used for customer at your suite with that kind room rates, can be at better quality.

Ich hatte die billigste Kategorie gebucht, dabei war das Zimmer nicht besonders ansprechend, hätte vielleicht besser eine höhere Kategorie gebucht. Man sass beim Frühstück, das sehr gut war, im Garten mit Ventilatoren. Das Hotel ist im Zentrum, so dass man alles zu Fuss erreichen kann.

- chiararO7100DN (8/5): Central yet quiet! - The hotel was absolutely beautiful, really charming and clean, even with a little history room to learn more about it and the city. The staff was very kind too and helped us when needed (e.g. for taxis). The location was probably the best we could have gotten, 5 minutes away from the market and city center while also extremely quiet despite the vibrancy of the surrounding streets.

Very nice of the staff to have prepared simple birthday decoration in the room. Recommended to select suite room as it is much more spacious and quiet. There was a lift but to get to the rooms may need to climb a few stairs. Pillows in the Hibiscus Suite are old, needs to be changed. Wish that there were clothes hangers in the room.

Good location and quiet. Could have? I guess having the AC not blow directly on the bed, but still not a big deal.

- Larisa (9/5): - Tolles Hotel in der Altstadt. Die Lage ist optimal. Schönes Gebäude, nettes Personal. Das Zimmer war winzig und sehr hellhörig. Im Badezimmer lagen noch die Haare vom dem letzten Gast. Das Frühstück war mehr für asiatische Gäste gedacht.

- Rob (8/5): Leuk traditioneel hotel op top locatie - Traditioneel hotel op een uitstekende locatie in het China Town gedeelte van de oude stad. Om de hoek van Jonker street (night market) en vlak bij het rode Holland plein. Ontbijt is wel uitgebreid en veelzijdig, maar de kwaliteit liet wat ons betreft wat te wensen over. Het hotel lijkt vooral op zijn goede reputatie te vertrouwen en te vergeten dat dit ook onderhouden moet worden. Kamer / badkamer kon wel een renovatie gebruiken.

The double room we had was spacious and clean and overlooked a small garden area. No view as such. Breakfast was ok reasonable choice. Coffee was awful! . Excellent massasge in the spa which has a very relaxing ambiance. Tea and fruit afterwards. The staff were very helpful and professional. Great location too. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The location is excellent for easy access Jonker Street and all the restaurants round about. We used the spa during our stay, which was outstanding. Overall highly recommended.

Volets fermés ! Le lendemain l’hôtel m’a changé de suite, c’était mieux mais la climatisation était en face du lit et bruyante !

- reachronald (6/5): Old school 3star charm. Great locale - Amazing location a stones throw from great food and sights! Just off a bus street, this sprawling complex hotel is the restored house of Tan Kim Seng himself- I personally loved the serene courtyard which transforms the somewhat dated interiors (expect some irregular steps). We had breakfast included which is decent and helps cos Jonkers shops open so late. Super nice friendly staff. Small feedback, reduce the mothballs, and despite the fogging we got a few mozzie bites in the courtyard - room was fine

The breakfast spread is small but decent and covers the required needs with a live station. Rooms are small and only one key given for twin sharing, and water pressure for shower head can be stronger.
