Guest Reviews
- CHERIE (5/5): - Nothing!! It was a BIG shock to find we were in a "Mining " community. 2 to 3 thousand men coming back to Base, hundred's of Toyota Ute's being parked. Overwhelming!! We were the only "civilians".... Why wasn't this Landing Hotel advertised as a workman's hub? The photos showed a normal motel room, but it was actually a dog box. 1 bath towel, (used to being single person quarters!! ). We ate in a mess hall with hundred's of men & 10 women, they looked at us like we were from Mars! One young man asked if I knew the drill! He showed us how to order food & use the Buffet.

Room was very clean and well set-up and comfortable N/a

- Daniel (1/5): - Was told one thing over the phone but met with another at the counter. Would not have booked if correct info was given

- Paddy (2/5): Poor. We felt that we had booked under false pretences. A Resort it is not! - Not much - "false advertising" would be a fair comment. The Landing is basically a sleeping place for FIFO workers at nearby mines. It seems to sell surplus to needs rooms to the public but makes no allowance for the completely different demographic it is dealing with. The prices are clearly tailored to people whose employer is footing the bill. A more realistic and honest description of what The Landing really is on booking.com would have been handy. Our experience was not helped by the fact that the water supply to the complex was faulty resulting in a long (several hours) wait for water to the rooms to be restored.
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leonie (4/5): Limited places to stay in Port Hedland, so beggars can’t be chosers. But, please at least fix the desk chair and noisy r - Secure. Clean. It was more of a work camp than hotel. Broken chair, noisy refrigerator.
- Bulle (7/5): Good -
- Fiona (1/5): Terrible - Food inedible
We came back covered in mite bites from bedding
Facilities look nothing like advertising
Bathrooms dirty
Aircon not on and was told it would take 2 hours to start to cool.
- Jill (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (8/5): Would definitely stay again - It was good value for money, the food was off the charts After 11hour drive the bed was like sleeping on a cloud
- Hall (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louis (8/5): Very good -
- Ray (10/5): I enjoyed my stay, well done to all - Excellent great and helpful staff also great food I have no complaints
- Will (9/5): Superb -
- Annarien (5/5): Passable -
- Grant (10/5): happy with it all and would stay there again. - Food was good with lots of options, service was outstanding. Reception was shut when i arrived and was a little bit confusing to get my room key.
- Karen (4/5): Not worth the money - The staff member who served me at reception was very nice and understanding of my situation. The bed was comfortable. Free dinner and breakfast. No tea or coffee making facilities, not even a glass for water. It's just a glorified work camp that is eyewateringly expensive for what you get. The food from the buffet was mediocre at dinner. it looked like it was sitting there for a while. Breakfast was a little better. Couldn't eat it in the room and had to share table with workers, which in itself wasn't horrible, I just would have preferred to take it back to room.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Mac (7/5): A great stay in a miner’s accommodation. - Great buffet meal and also excellent breakfast
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (6/5): I only had to stay one night - They had a vacancy when I needed it Massive cost for minimal comforts. An equivalent room in the southern states would be less than a third of what this place charges
- Eliot (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (10/5): Convenient location and great soft mattress - Nice soft mattress All was good
- David (7/5): Convenient - The room Finding the room
- Terry (7/5): Good -
- Hughes (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Daqelesi (1/5): Na - NA Na
- Neal (2/5): Not a place for tourists to stay. - The only place available for a tourist to stay in Port Hedland. Dinner and breakfast were provided in the dining "mess" hall which were very good buffet style meals. Room was quiet. The Landing Resort is a place where Tradies spend the night. It's packed with workers and actually calls itself a "Resort" which is laughable. Construction of new pre-fab buildings is ongoing. This is a workers village and not a resort as boasted.
Reception staff were cold and very business-like, The room was down the hall of a massive pre-fabricated housing structure. There is nothing pleasant about staying here.
- Jodie (7/5): Wont stay here again unless I have too. - Mess hall Pillows too big and hard. Bed too soft. Room so small I thought I was a sardine
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (2/5): Could not wait to leave. - Breakfast Size of room, nothing in the room to even have a glass of water. Depressing place, hate to be a fifo worker there.
- Nyikina (4/5): Disappointing -
- Karsten (8/5): Very good - Food very good. Room clean and good facilities. Staff friendly.
- Graham (1/5): Avoid this place at all costs - There was nothing to like. Bland good, paper thin walls so noise was an issue, uncomfortable beds and when I arrived my room key would not work. I was assigned a temp room and had to move again on the second night. Everything. This is an absolute last resort place to stay. I was forced to stay there as there was nothing else. $300 per night for a donger is extortion. I can get a King room at the Sofitel in any city for that price!
- Karen (10/5): Clean, convenient, quiet and the included dinner and breakfast was outstanding - It was clean, convenient and the meals were included and were excellent
- Katrina (2/5): Very poor -
- Matthew (3/5): Never again - Food was terrible. Veg raw and cold. Roast meat cold.
Furniture looked like came from rubbish tip - desk was scratched up. IKEA wardrobe all worn.
No way to have drink in room - no glasses or cups. No coffee tea in room.
Boards on glass sliding door held by tape.
Floors were stained and not cleaned to edges
Had cockroach in bathroom.
Way overpriced. Sent feedback had no response
- Nicholas (1/5): This place is an absolute joke. The worst value and most deceptive hotel experience of my life. - This place is an absolute joke. For $390 per night you get a tiny room with a broken door lock, old worn-out Ikea table and cupboard (with no coat hangers), tiny space, worn out everything.
It would be okay if it were shown for what it is and priced anywhere in the relhm of reality - but this is deceptive advertising and should be removed from Bookings.com for it. Disgusting deceptive advertising. I could not believe how much I had been fooled.
ABSOLUTE JOKE. THEY SHOULD BE DISGUSTED WITH THEMSELVES. I've stayed in over 1000 hotels over the last 20 years and this is literally the WORST experience I have had, totally RIPPED OFF and DECEIVED.
SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM BOOKING.COM
- Joanne (7/5): Good -
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (3/5): Poor - Was refused to go into the dining room even though I paid for dinner and breakfast. There was no info that you couldn't enter with a singlet on.
- Troy (6/5): Food was great - Food was great Room was a little dusty . The smell in the room of sewage and dampness.
- Garry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tanya (10/5): Highly recommended - Great value for money, clean and had everything required for stay-over and work. Booking.com need to improve their communications. The email to state where the apartment is located and where to get the keys. This should be provided as soon as the venue is booked and also provide a contact number.
- Keran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morgan (6/5): Loved the catering and the atmosphere was fine, rooms a bit too small for the price. - The food was great Bed was too small for one adult, one child. Air conditioning didn't work properly, no airflow possible as no screen door, cramped room.
- Justin (9/5): For a mining style camp it's excellent. Wouldn't recommend for a family holiday. - Clean, tidy rooms, great food.
- Jason (9/5): MUST STAY - ALL OF THE PLACE NOTHING
- Chris (2/5): disapointing - x x
- Hall (8/5): The air-conditioning was most welcome, and the selection of food was fabulous. - The air-conditioned room, the Mess Hall “Just across the road from the airport” was actually a long hall (over a km) for an older woman lugging 30kg of luggage (no wheeled suitcase) on a really hot day. Was saved by some passing locals who felt sorry for me, and gave me a lift. I even rang the Landing and asked about this before my travels, so they may need to amend their advice!
- Adrian (7/5): Good -
- Jacqualine (1/5): Bad -
- Greg (7/5): Satisfactory for a brief work related stay once room cooled off. - Room was HOT on arrival - was sitting at about 40 degrees, a/c not working properly, swapped to a different room which was also sitting at about 40 degrees on arrival. A/C slowly brought temps down to an acceptable level. It was cooler outside than in room!
- Stone (8/5): Very good - good meals with plently of choices room was like a sauna for about 1hr till it cooled down and aircon only works when u are in there. so cant turn on the have dinner and come back to a cool room
- Terry (4/5): I think you can do better - Breakfast both days was average, cold eggs, cold bacon Air conditioner turns off when leaving room, takes way too long to cool the room down, not what I want after a day in hot sun
- Lynette (2/5): Very poor -
- Allan (10/5): Very nice stay and good food. - Food was excellent and room was very clean and comfortable No complaints
- Ruben (3/5): Poor -
- Nileshbhai (3/5): At least drinking water should be in the room - Not even single water bottle in the room
- Andrew (8/5): Staff were friendly, amenities were ok. not too bad. thanks... - The staff at the reception were great, easy check in. the kitchen staff were friendly too. Bed was uncomfortable, I used the washing machines while I was there (Thanks for the free use) one of them failed while I was using it, needed to get more free laundry powder and start again, (1st world problem)
- James (3/5): Never be back. - Over cooked everything. Room had no Glasses or cups for a simple glass of water.
- Dean (4/5): Room was clean and comfortable but there was no basic facilities such as coffee making facilities. - Food was brilliant. No drinking water, coffee making facilities.
- Boehm (7/5): Functional for work/FIFO. Convenience of mess hall for meals. High Prices because not much else - Mess hall inclusions made it easy for using as a base for work Its Regional Mining Town, Price is HUGE!
- Geoff (2/5): Poor value for money, wont stay there again - Central Location Small room, fridge leaked, very small bathroom, $390 per night was outrageous and i got food poisoning from the mess at dinner
- Didier (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (8/5): Super convenient good value - Ease of location. Meal availability Nothing
- Shane (8/5): Short an sweet - Location good for the airport didn't have breakfast but it looked good Price
- Gennaro (7/5): Good -
- Michael (4/5): Sleepless - Noisy it’s a camp not a hotel
- Nikki (8/5): We only had one fault (the bed as previously mentioned) everything else was faultless - Absolutely fantastic service from everyone , from the start to finish
Everything was a really easy process Our bed was worn out and dipped to the middle, this made for an uncomfortable sleep
- Lisa (9/5): Excellent stay and very grateful for the opportunity to relax - The staff were so lovely, and the food for dinner and breakfast was of excellent quality better than I expected. Keep up the good work Nothing comes to mind
- Jason (5/5): Passable -
- Norma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (1/5): Bad -
- Kevin (3/5): Transit stay served a purpose of bed that’s about it - Convenient Barracks style accommodation clearly designed for FIFO and should be labeled as such. Room smelt and shower was calcified and stained.
- Raymond (6/5): Pleasant - Buffet Room bit small
- Therese (4/5): Expensive - Ridiculous price for basically a mining camp
- Andres (1/5): Bad -
- Marit (7/5): Good -
- Roger (10/5): Good work guys, keep it up - The staff at the mess were so helpful and the food was great
I stay all over at all mine sites and you guys are in the top 10
Great work keep it up Only staying for one night 🤣🤣
- Shaw (3/5): Poor -
- Peter (4/5): Disappointing - Food was good The price
- Gerrard (8/5): Very good -
- David (1/5): The website was totally misleading as it was rated 4 star. It was probably 1 star. The price was $390 per night &sho - Nothing. It was mine workers accomodation near the airport. It was described as a resort which was absolute rubbish. The room was small, resembling a cell. Couldn’t open the window as the power would disconnect when it was open. The meals were in the mess hall & of 1960s boarding school standard.
- Brett (5/5): Passable - It was clean and quiet... the food selection was very good, the chefs obviously take pride in what they do The bed was in the top 5 of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever had... the shower has no door/screen and therefore water goes everywhere, needing more than 1 bath mat to be able to walk out safely... so for $330 for the night - pretty average at best, but hey, it's the Port Headland right (as if that's supposed to make it ok)
- David (8/5): Good location, Clean facilities and free breakfast/lunch/dinner make this a great affordable place. - Good food with takeaways available for lunch. Friendly staff and clean facilities. One small bar of soap is supplied in the shower. Some more of that and shampoo would be excellent.
- Robyn (3/5): Couldnt wait to leave port hedland. - Checking out in the morning and going to muffin break to pay for my own breakfast. AS it was advertised as a resort I expected more than just a messy and noisy cafeteria, there was no kettle in the room, wifi didn't work. Even though the instructions said you didn't need a password it kept asking for one. 1 thin, poor quality towel, flat pillows. Overall all very poor for over $300 for one night. For people who are not familiar with mining camps advertise if for what it is.
