Guest Reviews
- Lindau (9/5): My stay at Edward House was very pleasant, and I would stay there again. - I am an 88 year old, and I found Edward House to be an excellent establishment - shiny clean, comfortable, good brekkie with lots of choices, the decor was lovely, and the best thing was the wonderful Manager Bruno. He was so kind to me, booking cabs and waiting for them as they never arrive when they say they will! He helped me down the steep gutters, and into taxis - he was just a lovely kind person, and he made my stay much more relaxed and pleasant. I have only ever stayed in hotels before, so my first experience of a BnB really impressed me. I didnt like the way the bed was made - the top sheet and doona only came up to your chest. I like the bedclothes to come over my head - but that's just me! I actually found hotels in SE Asia were made this way too. This was just a minor issue, and there was nothing else I could criticise.

- katrina (10/5): Lovely location, wonderful hosts and an exceptional breakfast. - I stayed here with my mum and we had a lovely stay. The location was beautiful and peaceful, the hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was exceptional. The property was comfortable and welcoming and we would definitely stay again. Nothing really to fault, we enjoyed our stay

- Claire (10/5): - The beds were super comfy !

- Samantha (10/5): A brilliant place to stay in Brisbane - Such a stylish & comfortable Lodge in a fabulous location!
Wonderful staff , excellent communication
Comfortable beds & room
- Ambra (10/5): The property is situated in a beautiful area with New Farm Park just 5 minutes walk away and nearby is the riverside whe - Beautiful old world decor and the gardens were well kept. The courtyard off the kitchen just invited you to sit outdoors. Nothing really, this was our second stay and we enjoyed it as much as the first.
- Hoskins (8/5): Great experience - Lovely local area Small
- Diane (10/5): Loved , cute and comfy - So cute super clean lovely host thanks Nell. Best location we will be back. Tiny insignificant the pillows were too high for us! Bed however super comfy breakfast perfect
- michael (10/5): Excellent facilities and host - Wide range of food very good for us. Bifold doors out to courtyard garden was perfect
- Whittle (8/5): -
- Nigel (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): - Very Good
- Karen (8/5): - Great shower, good size room, fantastic breakfast. Pillows were uncomfortable.
- susan (5/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Relaxing, homely, and perfect. - Such a wonderful quiet place to stay, like a home away from home! I can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough. Nothing
- Phil (9/5): You will be glad you booked here - Tranquil location away from the business of the easily accessible city. Nell, the manager was really helpful, chatty, and obliging. Pretty much loved it all. Perhaps if one suitcase didn’t need to be left on the ground.
- Brennan (10/5): Great host, lovely bedroom, ideal out of city centre location. - Tranquil. Very clean. Very comfortable. Good location with easy city access by bus or by river ferry. Nell was super friendly, really accommodating and most hospitable Nothing.
- Sylwia (10/5): Worth to be there - A beautiful property with wonderful rooms. A unique atmosphere. Everything was as described. The location was convenient for exploring the city (easy access to the ferry). A delicious breakfast was served in beautiful surroundings.

- Louise (9/5): Un logement à conseiller sans hésiter -
- Zhenzihao (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): Nicest stay in New Farm, - Lovely rooms, great access for breakfast and laundry facilities. Staff were very obliging. Great location. No parking facilities but outside road parking available
- Jane (10/5): 10/10 stay - Everything was clean, organised and easy to access! The bus stop is super close, as well as the coles and cafes. Staff were LOVELY and went out of their way to help us during our stay. The breakfast was surprisingly diverse - catering to Gluten & Dairy Free (and probably more!!).
- Leyde Diana (8/5): Perfect location - The place is very beautiful, perfect location, and the woman who greeted us was very kind. The breakfast is very healthy and delicious, with a variety of options to suit any taste. We stayed in a room that had two single beds pushed together; so the middle was uncomfortable and the pillows were too high, which was terrible for my back. But it was only one night; otherwise, I would have bought a cheap, thin pillow for myself. That's not a bad thing; I'm sure if I had asked to change them, they would have.
- Claire (9/5): Peaceful, comfortable, stress-free and just what I needed. - Location was fantastic and the access on arrival was easy. They also kindly accommodated my early check in request (12 noon instead of 2pm). The assistance from Nel, who was managing the guest house, was friendly, warm and so helpful. The room was a lovely peaceful haven, but the outside noise from some construction and road works at the time of my visit was a bit loud. This couldn't be helped though.
- Gary (8/5): -
- Scott (10/5): Pleasantly surprised, ideal location to walk to everything and public transport was really close...w - Continental breakfast was a nice touch, coffee was on point. Great dining area - both internal and external to relax and also socialize if others were around.
- Sarah (9/5): Loved it, really wonderful weekend and would love to stay again in future. - Really loved Nell and the decor. Excellently clean and quiet. Comfortable beds and lovely area. We loved the continental style breakfast but recommend adding one fresh option daily (e.g pastries).
- Bruce (10/5): Loved our first stay, loved our second stay and will return! - What isn’t there to like. Location, quality facilities, great place Nothing
- Angie (10/5): Fabulous! So clean! Can not wait to go back! - The breakfast choices were amazing!! Thinking a continental breakfast would be fruit cereal and toast but there was baked beans, avocado, tomato jam and cheese to chose from as well!! Great coffee!!
- Kamahl (8/5): Highly recommended - The location was perfect for our needs, good restaurants and cafes close by, within walking distance to the botanical gardens and South Beach.
- David (7/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Meredith (9/5): Comfortable lodging in an interesting old building - Very comfy beds in well appointed rooms No carpel but street parking usually available
- kathy (10/5): Loved it otherwise clean cute presentable friendly helpful staff - Clean tidy Air con wasn’t working well was hot fan didn’t work well either
- Bryan (10/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): No hesitation in recommending this property for anyone visiting Brisbane - This was an excellent find: comfortable, clean and convenient with excellent access to river ferry or bus into the centre. Well run and welcoming hostess with an excellent continental breakfast. The artificial grass in the otherwise pleasant garden.
- John (10/5): Would stay here again, perfect for a staycation or getting away from the city. - The location and setting is just beautiful and so quiet yet so close to everything. I really would recommend this place to anyone. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast station and courtyard was beautiful. It felt safe. Parking was a dream and just loved it. Nothing
- Eva (9/5): -
- Bryony (10/5): Cosy and wholesome stay - Late check in was really straight forward and easy to do. We loved the room and the surrounding gardens. It’s so pretty. The breakfast was fab and so much to choice.
- Suzanne (7/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): Beautiful and personable - Nothing was too much bother for Nell (manager). She communicated clearly and timely. The property is so beautifully appointed and while 4 km from the city centre, everything is still on the doorstep - cafes and restaurants. Nothing - we knew what we booked, did our research and as a result the establishment went beyond our expectations.
- Kylie (10/5): Gorgeous B&B, amazing breakfast available, fabulous host. - Nella was a super star, she was so welcoming and full of information regarding questions i had. Gorgeous little B&B will an amazing breakfast on offer. No negative comments to add.
- Gabrielle (10/5): - Extremely comfortable, wonderful location, excellent staff.
- Amanda (8/5): Beautiful apartments, great location. - Location Price doubled for weekend that had concerts on in Brisbane
- Richard (10/5): Amazing property, great location very close to public transport - Great location, quiet and beautiful place to stay Nothing

- Steven (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely home away from home - The place is in a beautiful location. It’s clean and has a home vibe. Nothing! The place is gorgeous.
- CARMEN (10/5): Very comfortable stay, felt like home. - The property was gorgeous, very easy late check in & great communication. We will return when next in Brisbane. Everything was spot on.
- Conrado (10/5): -
- Christian (8/5): - Ein schönes Stadtviertel - nahe DownTown und ruhig gelegen Das WLAN ist sehr schlecht
- Gillian (10/5): -
- kayla (7/5): Lovely but a little small. - The breakfast and location was amazing. The room and beautiful and clean. Bathroom was so cute! Staff were so friendly, we saw others quests and chatted for hours. Booked a room for 3, the double bed was uncomfortable for two adults as the mattress was too soft, and couldn't fall asleep. single bed was great. If booking for three adults maybe have 3 singles or another room. At least for us as a family, no couples.
- 1sheppardandsheep (10/5): Well worth the stay very romantic and not over the top in price and you get breakfast as well - The accomadion was fantastic it was a lovely room with a small bathroom but it was big enought for a person, Breakfast was lovely and Duty manager was very friendly area was nice to walk around as well That l could not stay longer :)
- Rhonda (9/5): -
- Judith (9/5): -
- Katrina (10/5): Simple process to collect keys. Very comfortable and will return! Excellent location - Clean and simple to check in after hours. Very unique property and incredibly comfortable!!! Possibly more information around checking out when the reception is not open.
- Sonja (10/5): Comfortable base from which to enjoy the sights around New Farm. - Charming building. Nothing.
- Christine (10/5): - Beautifully appointed rooms. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Great position to restaurants and events.
- Archard (9/5): A delightful stay in an excellent location. - Edward Lodge provided us with the comfort, location and resources we desired. The manager was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast area flowing onto the back garden/patio was lovely and the food plentiful. Whilst reasonably priced for New Farm, at the amount paid I believe that access to pay TV or Netflix would be appropriate. Perhaps a pastry or two as part of the breakfast fare, but these are relatively trivial issues.
- Jackie (10/5): Fabulous - Very comfortable bed and lovely breakfast. Nell was an excellent host.
Lodge right by a beautiful park and shops. A perfect location.
- Melinda (10/5): Perfect - Incredible location In one of the best suburbs in Brisbane Nothing
- Mt Coolum Tilt (8/5): Excellent value and right next to New Farm Park for a lovely river walk. - Location is excellent. 5 min walk to the river ferry and on a bus run to Brisbane CBD. Excellent eateries 250m away. Rooms were clean, nicely furnished and great bed. Small character establishment in good condition. Breakfast is help yourself and excellent. Inside or outside eating in a small garden courtyard. Nothing
- Julia (10/5): - Clean, friendly host, close to local amenities
- Karen (10/5): A perfect place to lay your head - Loved the location and decor
- Muller (8/5): Thank you for having me, your Manager is a delight, and the breakfast room brought much wonderful and unexpected convers - Edward Lodge is a beautiful property and was exactly what I had hoped it would be. It was perfect for my short stay, a mix of business and pleasure. Only that it didn’t have a pool - which I think I needed - nothing to do with the property !
- Jackie (10/5): Fabulous - Perfect location.
Nell was so friendly and lovely to chat to at breakfast.
We are returning at the end of our Australian trip to stay at Edward Lodge again. It will be a perfect end to our holiday.
- Debra (9/5): -
- Brian (8/5): - VERY NOISE PLUMBING FROM OTHER ROOMS
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Nell was fantastic, very welcoming and provided great communication. - Location was excellent as was the ambience of the house and the area. Bathroom was a bit small, could do with a few PowerPoints that were more accessible for charging devices.
- Brian (6/5): - Breakfast was really good, location suited us. Coles supermarket & Restaurants near by very handy. Bus service near by as well. We didn't like the fact that you could here other toilets & showers from other rooms. Plumbing was just overall very noisy.
- Jo-Ann (9/5): A very comfortable & enjoyable stay. - Very pleasant staff especially Nell. Residence was very close to our venue. Beautifully tended grounds. Limited parking. I realise that this was not the fault of Edward Lodge but it wasn't mentioned in the web page.
- Mary Rose (8/5): Charming boutique hotel in New Farm - Charming property in the heart of New Farm. Breakfast was simple but good. Nothing. It was very good.
- Britta (9/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Fabulous stay in Beautifil historic residence New Farm. - Fabulous location, beautifully presented and comfortable. Quiet and host very welcoming. Lovely continental breakfast.
- Brett (9/5): A great place to stay, we would visit again. - Location was excellent, the property was small, well maintained and had a nice feel to it. Bathroom was small, but functional.
- Bruce (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Hendrik (10/5): -
- Linda (9/5): Pleasant - I stayed in the #9 apartment room for one night. It was up a staircase but beautifully furnished and very well appointed with everything to be self sufficient. The bed was super comfy and the self check in process went smoothly. Shower was nice and hot and great water pressure. The parking was free Although free, the street parking wasn't ideal, but I eventually found a park within walking distance.
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Monika (9/5): -
- Natalie (8/5): Fantastic location. Cosy and stylish - The property was very cosy and clean, with lovely furnishings. The breakfast provided was high-quality products and great variety. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the riverside attractions in Brisbane and the city. The room was bright and gorgeously decorated, I just would have liked a larger window and view outside. A very minor thing. I am looking forward to returning next visit to brisbane
- Timothy Teahan (10/5): Perfect place to stay for a week in Brisbane - great location and great hosts. New Farm is a great area to stay. Maybe a bit more variety at breakfast.
- Michele (10/5): -
- Jessica (7/5): Great location and nice guest house, could make some small improvements to make it even better. - Great location and set up. Very quiet neighbourhood. Easy to check in late at night. Very nice decor. We had the triple room for two of us (I think because it’s was popular and fully booked others weren’t available), it was quite small in the room and shower room; it wasn’t the cleanest and in need of a little tlc. The shower also leaked and covered the bathroom in water every day. The other rooms looked much nicer and better value for money.
- Carol (8/5): Location, location, location! - The location The room was a bit tight for 3
- Jackie (10/5): Travelling with 4 couples. Great space, excellent location, logos vfm. Tx - We were visiting for the British Lions Rugby tour but didn’t want to be in the city centre. Philip, the owner, has been running his BnB for 10 years and has nailed it! New Farm ticked all the boxes. The room and facilities were great. The location is perfect for exploring the area, close to the ferries and local amenities, which are incredible! Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, markets outdoor spaces… the place to be.
- Kerri (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
