Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): - An older motel that was well presented. Great price, friendly staff.
- Peter (4/5): - A tired, old motel, neither clean nor fresh. Thin, tiny towels suit the parsimonious shower.
- Cathy (10/5): - A comfortable stay. Female staff person was lovely, friendly & accomadating Room was a bit outdated, couldnt connect to the Wifi even after id contacted staff about it but over all a good few nights. I would stay again as its a lovely location & more importantly the bed was comfortable for me
- Gerard (8/5): - For a small country town it is a good place to stay for a night or two.
- Joan (10/5): - The Tartan Motel is very central and easy to access. It was clean and tidy and the cooler worked well. A comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. It has a very tiny shower space but we were able to work with that.
- Margaret (4/5): - Bathroom needed a thorough clean behind door under waste basket. It was easy to park car at front of room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean, old style motel located right in the middle of town, very convenient.
- Joe (8/5): - There was nothing that i didn't like when we stayed at the Tartan Motel. It was quite and safe there. Everything was clean. Will revisit again.
- Corrina (6/5): - A teaspoon or 2 would be helpful.
Otherwise nice and quiet.
- Les (10/5): - Great location in a beautiful country town
- Alistair (6/5): - …
- Ron (10/5): - Great staff. Very helpful in all ways
Walk across the road for good food and coffee
Very clean and neat town
Lot of local flacks to look at
- Graham (10/5): - Got exactly what I wanted after 11 weeks camping. Made to feel welcome. Great food at pub across the road
- Alan (2/5): - No hot water oily film on water from kettle would not recommend
- Stephen (4/5): - Unique to the motel was that it was convenient to where I was going.
There was a constant banging sound throughout the night. The wind was strong and was blowing on a gate that i suspect was making the sound.
The television had limited channels to choose from.
The smoke alarm was open and not sure if it was working.
Dirty atop lights and in bathroom light cover.
I would have appreciated a face washer too.
Please take these criticisms as constructive, so as to improve.
- Andrew (8/5): - Management was able to accommodate a last min request which was great.
- Margaret (10/5): - The room was immaculate. The removal of the single bed and replacing it with a smaller sofa made the room feel quite large and ‘roomy’. The cupboards were very well equipped. I really enjoyed my stay and will happily stay again.
- Leonie (4/5): - This hotel is very basic. It desperately needs a full over haul. Years of grime build up. Unfortunately Power outage due to storms …no one at reception but through texting manager organised a torch to be delivered. Power back on at 6am so spent a very dark night with no electricity . Needs a generator maybe. Bed not too bad but bed cover and blanket so old and cover on old couch was just awful. Kettle clean thankfully. Plenty of hot water when power back on. $139 I expected basic but not this awful. I have requested some refund as I feel this would show some acknowledgment of the bad situation but as yet have had no answer. Not sure Wotif should be advertising this place. Seedy feeling….
- Sarah (2/5): - Room was extremely basic and of poor standard. Windows with net screens missing, big holes under door for insects to enter room. Fridge filthy. No microwave or other cooking facilities. No hairdryer provided. Shower very poor and only suitable for short people. No bulbs in bedside lamps. Very poor standards overall, especially for price paid.
On a positive note, nice location in town to go for wander.
- Nigel (10/5): - All good many thanks!
- Hendrik (4/5): - Linen was clean. Motel was outdated, tired and needed TLC. No service between nights to empty bins, replace tea n milk. Stated room service breakfast available but no menu or reception.
- Anthony (10/5): - It was very nice.
- Andrew (6/5): - Older motel and over inflated price for poorly maintained rooms.
Had trouble finding power points that worked.
Non welcoming, as was in area on business next time im better to drive 90 mins home and drive back next day.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Fridge turned on with maybe a bottle of water in there. Otherwise a good night sleep👍
- John (10/5): - Very handy to shops and eatery
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Older style motel. Large clean rooms. We were arriving late and they put the heating on for us so it was warm when we got there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Average country town cheap motel. Everything was clean and ok but no frills.
- Rosemarie (2/5): - Motel needs a total revamp. Very outdated.
- Mandy (8/5): - location, convenience, service
- Jack (6/5): - Rooms are ok but the bed had an electric blanket controller I the middle of bed rite under my shoulder blade. Apart from that. The stay was good
- Heather (10/5): - Great value for price, quite and extremely close to town facilities.
Will stay again.
- Vaclav (10/5): - Big and quiet room with tea and coffee , fridge.very good value for money.Sop and pubs 50 meters from motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice dpot for stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - After a full day photographing a motorsport event, it was fantastic to come back & relax in a quiet setting. Absolutely loved my stay & I am just looking at booking with the Tartan Motel again soon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All was well, clean, convenient, easy communication
- Adam (10/5): - Have stayed here before - perfectly positioned in town, nice and quite and very well priced. Great spot to stay
- Annette (8/5): - Great location. Clean and comfortable.
Allowed our pet dog. Very happy. Thanks
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Strands of long hair caught in the guest welcome book was revolting.
An old and battered motel.
Lots of noise from socialising owners so I had to close the window and turn the television up loud.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great service, clean room. A good honest country motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Noisy fan in bath room. Poor water pressure.
Large enough room, warm and comfortable. Could do with a face lift, very dated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was clean and well serviced. Staff were friendly. located centrally.
- Angie (8/5): - Lovely and central in Yea being on the main street.
- Sioux (8/5): 97/100 😉 - Friendly staff, super clean (& I work as an Aged Care cleaner, so I am tough on that) & very comfortable beds.
Great location, at top end of main street, so you can walk to shops, bakeries & pubs, with a major supermarket directly across the road.
The entry door did have gaps, so it would be drafty in winter, but that could be fixed & a door snake would be good too. But the heater worked brilliantly anyway, so I was more than cosy.
Check-in needs to include giving guests the breakfast menu & the cut off time to order - that was oversight #1 that needs to be remedied.
Oversight #2 I am leas forgiving of - the tea/coffee amenities didn't include a single plate or cutlery - not even a teaspoon to stir your tea/coffee! Sorry, there is no good excuse for that faux par, ever.
Overall, it was a great place to spend the night - I was attending a friend's birthday & required a clean, comfortable place to stay - Tartan Motel delivered. The little details can be forgiven (once).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great price and location. Extremely comfortable bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice size room and comfy bed. Great location, everything was within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location in the centre of town
Friendly service, basic rooms but very clean and well priced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very quiet , close to everything , great way to break up a long return trip to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check-in was a breeze, very friendly staff, close to town facilities
- Anne (8/5): Great service and comfy stay on a budget. - We had a friends wedding nearby, so needed a room mainly for sleeping.
Tartan organized for an early check in so we could make the most of a child free weekend with a sleep pre wedding, and then a late checkout so we could enjoy a late breakfast before hitting the road.
Room was clean, bed was comfy, and shower had good pressure. We both made use of the iron and ironing board supplied to straighten out our outfits, so that was handy! Very quiet room over night, so slept like a baby!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Right in the middle of town close to all shops. Great price for an overnight stay for those on a tight budget. Clean and comfy and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quick check in, close to town facilities quiet and comfortable.
- wendy (8/5): good for the price - an older style hotel in a very pleasant country town. The staff were friendly and the room was well maintained although older. Bed was comfortable, shower was great and there was a local cafe next door where I could get something to eat - would stay again all you need for a night
- John (10/5): - Very neat and comfortable in centre Main Street.Staff excellent.great value.
- Marin (10/5): - the room was clean, tidy and everything worked well.
- David (8/5): Great - Great
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room too expensive for what room offered - didn’t offer !
- Jamie (8/5): nice and quiet - - I arrived late so the owner kindly left a key in the door and the heater on - furniture was a bit dated, but it was comfortable and good value for money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room comfortable and clean - a bit dated but the double room was very roomy. It was excellent for a handy overnight stay after a full day of travel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was an ok small town hotel - Ok motel, close to all local amenities which was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Tartan disappoints - The motel room heating was terrible. The bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work. Towels were flimsy
- Kaye (4/5): Take your own equipment for a semi comfatable stay - Our stay meant that breakfast required a trip to the supermarket to buy bowls and milk. Then we realised too late, there was no plates for toast, no spoons for cereal, no knives to butter toast and only one teaspoon to share.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location - Good value, basic accommodation located in the township.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location, but basic. - Location is briliant. Opposite the a great pub and the supermarket and the Wetlands discovery centre.
Staff were absolutely lovely but motel is a bit rundown.
Cobwebs in the room, bathroom door didn't close properly, beds needing mew mattresses but otherwise fine.
Also the price was a bit high for what it was. $165 for 2 adults and a child was a bit more than you'd expect to pay for such a basic room. For a bit less, the cobwebs and non-shutting door would be easier to overlook. Lovely people though so I hope they can get it fixed up a bit so we can come back and enjoy it a bit more.
- Jay (8/5): Perfect location - We stayed overnight and enjoyed the spotlessly clean and comfortable room that suited our needs as as we were only there to sleep. It is close to the street and cafes. Our reception was welcoming and helpful.
- Geoff (10/5): Handy to Lake Eildon and surrounds - Pleasant room and friendly staff. The resident and visiting dogs were well controlled and only noisy during the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): August stay - The hotel is very convienent to all the shops at Noosaville. Amy and Jason are very friendly and helpfull and like a chat, just ask.
The room can be a bit noisy but no worse than the rest of Noosaville, we found it very comfortable and a firm bed to sleep in. Lovely views of sunset over Tewanton direction.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Office closed when we Arrived at 2:30pm, but apart from that it was all ok. We had a t andem trailer parked out of the way but some lovely person still hit it with their car and left no details.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We arrived very late, well after midnight, but the staff were very accommodating and arranged everything for us ahead of time.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet, adequate motel - We travelled to Yea to ride on the rail trail & see some of the local scenery. The bike shop was no longer operating but we walked part of it and drove around the area. The room was comfortable but not exceptional. We rang to say that we would be late and a key was left in the door and the heater put on.
- Alan (8/5): - Comfortable and handy
- Terry (8/5): Very nice country motel - Exactly what you expect from a motel like this. Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Even had the Easter bunny leave a surprise at our door in the morning, a lovely touch by the owners.
- roger (8/5): Close in town , plenty of good coffee shops etc. - Good place to stay in Yea , nice to stopover or spend a lazy morning/afternoon.
- Barbara (8/5): Comfortable, good off street parking. - No one on site and automatic check in didn't accept our wotif number. Phone wasn't answered until third call. A bit of a worry. Resolved on third call.
Handy to restaurants and great bakery for breakfast.
We have stayed there previously and would again despite the glitch. Good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Its a good cheap place to stay, - I found it a satisfying place to stay, if i had anything negative to say would be the condition of the lounge, there was stains on it.
- violet (6/5): - Only one tea spoon,no plates to put toast on or a knife to spread jam etc.not enough milk.no biscuits.no tissues and a tiny shower with no available bench space for toiletries to go on. Disappointing for the price.
- Tony (6/5): Clean & tidy motel. - Room had everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay.
- Michael (8/5): Handy place in Yea - A friendly welcome, a clean room, good parking space, all the essentials were in place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Shower was exellent - Clean ,tidy heater could have done with a dusting but good and effective
