- Gwyneth (9/5): This Farm Stay was a welcome oasis from the ongoing road, just turn directly off the highway! - Communication during the contactless check in and check out was really good! helpful to have several breakfast options for us as we were only overnight and on the road again for day 3. The property is beautiful and the work on the gardens too. heaps of facilities and care taken to offer privacy for guests. Kids would love it our dogie's did and were safe outside on the deck as it was secure. Would have been happier with notification of a pet charge, understand the charge, just nothing advised at booking, we have been charged a pet fee everywhere however not for each pet before. $60 seamed to be a bit high for an overnight stay.

- Sarah (9/5): Half way between Sydney and Melbourne, an oasis on the Hume - Hillview Farmstay was a gem of a place to stay. The cabin we were in was pristine, well equipped and comfy. The location was just about equidistant between Sydney and Melbourne and is literally just off the Hume. It is a really relaxing after a long drive sittiing on the deck overlooking paddocks. Such a peaceful spot with a pool. And we were able to bring our dog. Donna was really pleasant to deal with. Will definitely be back. Nothing

- Karen (7/5): A lovely country location with good amenities, however fell short of expectations for a farm experie - It was a lovely peaceful country location. The amenities were good. There was thoughtful additions for children, such as toys books and plastic dinnerware. The breakfast was limited and was not replenished on the second day. The BBQ packs were not available. I would have liked more of a farm experience for the children. The place is touted as a farm stay, however there were limited animals and interaction.

Donna messaged the morning of our stay to provide all the details we needed to arrive along with a map of the property. We decided to bring our own items for a cheese platter to enjoy the wonderful hill view :) Nothing :)

- Judith (6/5): - The bedroom we had was very comfortable and clean with good facilities all round. There was no staff member at the property to greet us and as a result there was a mix-up in which property we were meant to occupy. It was clear that as four people, we would need a 2 bedroom property but when the member of staff did appear we were told we were in the wrong property and the one she told us we should have been in had only one bedroom. After some discussion, it was agreed that we should stay put. We did find the kitchen inadequately provisioned for 4 people ie. insufficient cutlery, cooking equipment and the outside grill hadn't been cleaned. It wasn't really possible to cook anything substantial. Sadly ,the day we arrived it had rained solidly, so the area around the property was pretty waterlogged (which we realise was what you needed given the recent long drought!) but it did put a dampener on what we had hoped to enjoy of the whole experience (i.e. we couldn't sit outside and enjoy our surroundings as we had done on previous visits.) Given that ours was an overnight stop, the property possibly wasn't the best option although we realise the experience could have been a whole lot different if the sun had been shining and we could have used the pool etc.

- Emma and Mark (5/5): Disappointing. - Convenient location between Sydney and Melbourne. Cheap and disappointing. The cost is a lot for what this place is, it’s not nice and very uncomfortable. Small inadequate sofa, hard uncomfortable bed. Impossible to cook food as the kitchen fit out is cheap and nothing functions properly. It took us an hour to cook bacon and eggs because the cook top kept turning off, the toast was so small the bread didn’t fit in it. Just terrible

Have already booked our next stay! - Loved the scenery, privacy, cleanliness and just the fact that our dome tent had absolutely everything we needed. The view was stunning, water pressure in the shower was awesome, the place was sparkling clean and we got the most amazing view of the night sky Nothing not to like! It was so good we have already booked our next stay!
- Stuart (10/5): Great farm stay with lovely well kept cottage and well equipped kitchen. Lots of animals to see on the large property. F - This is a lovely farm land property. The cottages are nicely spaced out and private. Our front deck had table and chairs which we had dinner and breakfast at facing a very large paddock with lots of goats. The were cows, sheep on horses in the distance. Well equipped kitchen with two burner stove top which we used to cook the bacon and farm eggs left in the fridge for us. Bed was very comfortable and ceiling fan welcome. Bonus was seeing stars in the clear night sky. We also enjoyed the free early morning animal feeding session and happily paid for a buggy tour of the very large farm with our friendly host. A minor point- we arrived on a very hot day. The air-conditioning cooled the lounge/dining area fine but was much less effective cooling the bedroom. The bedroom did have a ceiling fan which was welcome and we managed a good nights sleep.
- NK (5/5): Glamping Tent, while comfortable gave illusion of a quality we failed to experience - overpriced. - Ruth was prompt and accomodating with communication with booking & prior arrival. Check in was easy and stress free via text. Farm was just as expected, many animals and great location between Melbourne and Sydney. Small breakfast provided with farm eggs. Tent was rustic and clean. All products needed for cleaning are avalible. Good kitchen set up. Comfortable bed. Free wifi. Great for those who are looking for a farm experience at a cost. Pool & tennis court. Many activities advertised. Glamping tent was a disappointment, especially for the cost. In the heat the kids could not sleep in the overheated cubby bed, felt unwell with the heat and we all squashed in the main bed. aircon & fan struggled. Drinking tap water hot. Granted, with the heat wave one would expect heat - however, knowing my concerns with the fires and heat at the time, I would have appreciated to know the day before that the tent would be intolerable in the heat & to be offered alternative appropriate accommodation / ice bucket and cold drinks. I did contact Ruth, was told it would cool over night, it did but took until 4am to sleep. It was a bad , expensive night I would not do again. We left early due to this and missed the farm activities. The highway is seen & heard all night due to the position of the glamping tent, which is not secluded. Farm 4-wheeler did trips around our tent until 9pm. We did find the pool which was refreshing but extremely murky, dirty and without shade. The whole area could do with a little TLC for the cost ($450 a night). Cooking limited for us due to heat - Microwave breakfast ;-/ (BBQ available outside in the elements) Tip: dont "camp" in peak-summer
- Tamara (5/5): A perfect location - Loved the location, kids had a ball spending time with the animals. The feeding session in the morning was a lot of fun, so glad we got to stay for that. More cooking facilities. I cant use a BBQ so that made it very hard. Wish there was electric frypan or something included. Also, the night we stayed was very windy and the tent shook so hard I could not sleep. Not all the windows were able to be secured.

- Wang (1/5): - Complaint regarding unfair charge and abusive host behavior Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I would like to formally report an issue with my recent stay at [property name / Hillview Farmstay] (Booking confirmation number: [xxxx]). 1. Arrival experience: When we arrived in the evening, the area around the property was completely dark with no street lights. We could not find the way to the cabin. The host eventually came out to guide us, but her attitude was extremely rude and impatient. In my understanding, assisting guests in finding the property, especially in such unsafe and unclear conditions, should be a basic responsibility of the host, not something to treat guests with hostility about. 2. Hot water bottle leakage: During our stay, the hot water bottle provided by the property leaked and caused the bed to become wet. This was not due to misuse but due to a defect/aging problem with the facility. We used it in a normal way. 3. Extra charge and abusive behavior: The host charged us AUD $50 as an “extra cleaning fee.” We already paid this amount, and I have attached the payment receipt. However, after we paid, the host continued to send us aggressive and abusive messages, including insults such as calling us “filthy pigs.” She also accused us of urinating on the bed, which is extremely offensive and completely false. 4. Unprofessional conduct: The host threatened to contact Booking.com and other accommodation venues to spread negative comments about us, which I find highly unprofessional and intimidating. I believe this situation is very unfair because: • The initial arrival experience was unsafe and unpleasant due to the lack of lighting and the host’s rudeness. • The wet bed issue was caused by the property’s own equipment, not by us. • We have already paid the extra fee. • The host’s abusive and threatening language is unacceptable. I kindly request Booking.com to investigate this case and take appropriate action.

- Janice (9/5): One of the highlights of our drive from Sydney to Melbourne. - Hosts were friendly and welcoming. The two bedroom two bathroom unit was a self contained cottage in lovely surroundings. Additional two heaters were provided which came in very useful. Well stocked fridge of eggs, bacon, bread, jam, milk was all ready for use. Cereal available too. Rooms were clean and well maintained . Loved the little bar b q area at the entrance of the cottage. Quiet and very centrally located just off the highway. Animal feeding in the morning was fun! Couldn't figure out how to use the electric hob. Perhaps a simple instruction note on the wall would be good. Issue resolved quickly by the hosts by early morning.

- Joseph (9/5): - Great location - a halfway hotel between Melbourne and Sydney. We stayed in the Chicken Coop - which was modern, clean and comfortable. Coco our labradoodle was welcome, and she enjoyed the walks around the farm, and seeing goats, alpacas and horses for the first time. Leaving!

- Wing Kin Roderick (5/5): Too expensive for the offering. - Proximity to farm animals, wild hares. The ensuite toilet was convenient. (1) The hob in the dome could only be used in extreme weather. So, we had to cook using the BBQ stove outside the room even when it was rainy and cold outside. Hence, we did not cook at all. (2) The ensuite toilet was convenient but not actually enclosed. So, the smell and noise from the toilet will flow to the living and sleeping area.

- Gary (9/5): We enjoyed a very peaceful and comfortable stopover on our way to Canberra. - The accommodation was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The animals were cute. Delightful and restful stay.

- Diane (9/5): We would stay again, a very pleasant experience and good alternative to a motel room - It was a good experience. Extremely quiet and spacious well appointed one bedroom cabin. We had preordered an evening meal which was very convenient and most enjoyable.

It’s a little far away from a town, I didn’t mind driving the 35 mins into Gundagai but if you come prepared there’s no need to drive into town just enjoy being there!

- Debra (7/5): - The owners and the grounds were lovely. The proximity of the animals was terrific, especially as they were quite friendly. The hot water in the showerr was not hot. Cooking elements were cramped when trying to cook with more than one saucepan. Serving utensils were limited (eg no salad bowl or serving spoons). Air conditioning unit may need service as it was slow to heat
- Megan (10/5): A wonderful city escape. - All the little extras that you could need. Grounds are beautifully maintained and everyone had a wonderful time with the animals. Wished we could have stayed longer.
- Deb (10/5): Perfect stopover - Convenient and comfortable in a lovely farm setting with lovely green rolling hills. Perfect for a stop over on the way to Sydney. The truck traffic noise on the Freeway. I realise this can't be helped so take earplugs.

- Andrew (5/5): Adequate but I wouldn’t stay there again - Pretty average. Not cozy at all, utilitarian. Being booted out right on check out time.
- Kenneth (10/5): Beautiful farmland views - Stayed in one bedroom cabin 9, beautiful view over farmlands. Comfy king-size bed with crisp white sheets. They even text us that they had lit the outside fire pit, so we enjoyed some time by the fire. Great stopover on drive Syd to Melb.
