- Ange (6/5): - Without a doubt beautiful view of the lake, but the interior was tired with limited facilities, no plugs or mirrors except up a narrow flight of stairs to the mezzanine bedroom. Sky tv box in the room but no sky channels available. Very expensive for what it was.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - you pay for the view but that’s it - The view is great, the room was ok, tired and needs updating but the overriding smell of damp and mould that came from the bathroom ruined the vibe of the views. Cutlery wasn’t clean and I had 2 spiders to contend with too.

- Catherine (8/5): - The most amazing aspect of this motel is its spectacular views of Lake Wanaka. I loved that it is away from the town, traffic and noise, something quite unusual for a motel. It was certainly adequate, although the place needs maintenance, especially the bathroom and toilet which need refreshing. Worst are the steps from the car parking up to the units - they are uneven and really quite dangerous if you are carrying luggage. Not a good place for anyone with a disability, although the units on the street frontage are probably ok. Our unit didn't have a covered porch as did the others downstairs. If booking again I'd request a room with a porch.

- Rita (2/5): - I actually think Expedia is partly at fault for not vetting this property, which is not only not a 3 star but fails to meet the minimum standards of hygiene and cleanliness for basic accommodation. There were hairs on the sheets, gross effluvia on the duvet covers, crumbs all over the couch, and grime everywhere in the corners, including the bathroom. It's a classic roach motel in other words, and every review here about cleanliness should be regarded as suspect, unless I got the only dirty one, which seems highly unlikely. I get that everyone is short staffed--it's a bad time, still--but there are some basic things one has to do when running a motel and cleaning seems like step one.
- b (8/5): - Amazing view of lake and mountains. Short easy walk into township. Good old fashioned motel.Comfortable bed. Kitchenette unit very basic. Just needs a good dedicated cleaner and not rely on guests to clean as we had to wash the dishes on arrival.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Upon being shown to room after I had paid for 4 nights I saw that there was building crane in front of motels right on the lake and very much a part of the view of the lake. Building work apparently started in November 2019. Building work took place 8am to 5.30/6pm. I had not been told by expedia or motel about this. I booked expensive lake view stay here at motel to relax which was difficult. The noise could be heard in room when door and windows shut. After days of trying to negotiate compensate for this situation and owner not willing to negotiate I accepted the sum she offered. I also had calls with expedia who intervened also in the matter. Wasn't impressed with the motel for hiding the building works and not sharing information prior to check in. I was given one free laundry load as compensation.Motel kitchenette was very basic 2 pieces of set of crockery and cutlery. Only a microwave and although you could cook in it without Tupperware or there being other forms of crockery to prepare meals in it was impossible. There was a sign by the owner restructuring certain foods to be cooked hence lack of crockery for meal preparation made sense. Shower pressure was weak for washing hair but doable for shower. Studio lounge and bed were comfortable. View of lake was pretty and bench outside room was nice to sit on. Motel managed by young German ladies acting as cleaner and manager. Main owner won't be there. Overall impression - expensive stay, good location, building works
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Located on the east bank of the lake so beautiful views. Check in was efficient, parking was easy although we did have to carry the cases up 5/6 narrow steps. Room was spacious but quite dark at the rear. It was better in the evening when the sun streamed in through the windows. Kitchen could have been better equipped, no salt or pepper but the containers for them. Not much crockery. Internet access was slow or intermittent.

We were very disappointed in the service- when we arrived, we tried to ask for recommendations for hikes and restaurants but the receptionist really couldn't provide any guidance.

It's a bit of a shame there is no oven for cooking but there is a microwave and a BBQ outside so this is a very minor implication. We had a great stay and would definately go back. Phenomenal views and a spa overlooking the lake. Everything I needed and more and for a great price. Would certainly recommend and come back again.
