Guest Reviews
- Beth (6/5): - Noisy
- Luke (10/5): - Staff were great and friendly. The pool was small but welcome and refreshing after a long day at the nearby open plains zoo. Breakfast was a convenient add on option and great that the kids under a certain age could eat free with a paying adult.
- Troy (8/5): - Yes, it's a budget motel, however it was great value for money
- Deborah (4/5): - Property needs updating. Meals area tablecloths were dirty and not cleaned in between customers. Some staff a little passive aggressive. I've stayed at a lot better 3 star hotels.
- Ron (4/5): - Couldn’t regulate the temperature of the shower, it was too hot. Internal door of freezer compartment was missing resulting items in fridge were too cold.
- Samantha (6/5): - Pool was shut the next morning which was a disappointment for the kids , no spare blankets & top bunk was not even made
- Julie (2/5): - I did not like anything about it. It was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. And I will be never going back there ever again in my life. I would like to see if I can get my money back. So
- Krystal (4/5): - Room was dirty, pool was cold and dirty, gate was locked but staff came to open it.
- Alexey (2/5): - The car broke down and I couldn't make it. Let them know and they refused to do anything.
- Heather (4/5): - Overall state of the place
- Marnie (2/5): - Was not worth the $115 charged. The room, booked for 2 adults and 1 child, was so small there was barely leg room around the bed. There was no bench space in the bathroom everything had to go on the floor. The carpet was old and dirty.
There was chewing gum stuck on the wall.
The room was a huge disappointment and not as pictured in photos. We left and stayed at another motel.
- Geoffrey (4/5): - 1st and last time.
- Isabelle (2/5): - We cancelled all future bookings after staying. At first the staff was nice at check in. The pool area has no seats for adults to watch the kids swim. The blanket for one of the beds was dirty and stained and smelt disgusting. People were fighting in the hallway and when I went down to staff they advised there was nothing they could do. We had a long drive in front of us the next day was not impressed we have booked elsewhere for our return trip
- Brett (6/5): - Ok
- Tara (2/5): - This property needs an urgent revamp.
- Gary (4/5): - 2 X times woken up with cigarette smoking smell coming thru A/C unit
No refrigerator in room
The staff were very helpful
- Stacey (2/5): - This property has basic facilities e.g bed and bathroom but the overall cleanliness was disgistibg. Carpets are filthy and sticky, drains stink and the bathroom grout is dirty. Beds not particularly comfortable, need to be replaced. It’s clear the owners conduct little maintenance and only surface cleaning.
- Djibril (6/5): - No hot water in the shower on that night.
- Geoffrey (6/5): - Rang property TWICE during their described business hours to confirm my booking and a 7pm arrival, while travelling.
Received answering machine message advising someone would call me back TWICE, with no result!
Complained to reception person when I arrived and got a "have been very busy" response (she was doing stuff around the pool when I drove in!) and no apology. Didn't really care at all!
I have been a residential hotel manager for 15 years and told this to the receptionist. What is the point of having an answering machine if you don't check the messages and reply?! Again, "been very busy" and she didn't really care!
NOT GOOD ENOUGH IBIS DUBBO!! :-(
- Les (8/5): - Attentive to detail on arrival at reception
- maureen (6/5): So so hotel - Okay
Just a bed for 2 nights
No wifi in rooms
Public areas no wifi due to inclement weather.
A very noisy Saturday night/early Sunday morning.1.30am till 3am banging doors and loud shouting.
Some guest asked them to quieten down but was met with aggressive responses.
The desk person on Sunday morning evicted the guests making the noise earlier in the day.
I paid for a room to sleep for 2 nights.
I was robbed of any sleep the second night.
- Mervyn (6/5): - reasonable price for very small room
- Richard (4/5): - Door lock was unpredictable and difficult; stains on walls and carpet. Service and matress were fine.
- Leah (2/5): - Terrible . Unsafe locals harassing you outside of hotel after dark told not to go out after dark unsafe . Service station held up same night we were there . Room was mouldy carpet mouldy . No changing of sheets or amenities bring your own if game to stay here . Not even soap to wash your hands . We were told after check in it is a half way place also for ex cons on release . Room extremely small couldn’t swing a cat in two normal size people can’t walk around at same time in room . If you want a drama story to tell stay here .
- Benjamin (8/5): - Everything here is tired. But it would also be unfair to bag it further. Expect what you paid for in a budget hotel.
- Zak (2/5): - The rooms are neat but cleanliness is well below average. No plates in the room milk is left on top of the fridge not inside. Shower is mouldy. Toilet works great and good water pressure and that’s it
- Darlene (8/5): Convenient - Convenient to stay overnight but wouldn’t stay for any length of time
- Dina (6/5): - Receptionist unfriendly, corridor was smelly, noisy, only one little light worked in the room, aircon doesn’t work and dusty.
- Irene (6/5): Needs an overhaul, but some good things happening. - The motel looks run-down and needs a overhaul. The queen-size bed was great and very comfortable. We had the disabled room with a larger bathroom which was good, but that makes the bedroom small. Breakfast was well presented and plentiful.
- David Anthony (8/5): - Handy to everything
- Joe (2/5): - Unless you are desperate - do not use
- Ian (6/5): - Room was a little smelly and very small (well, it's an Ibis, so that's expected). No shampoo and "body wash" turned out to be bars of soap. Zero flexibility for early checking. Breakfast was good.
- Andrea (8/5): - Very clean hotel. Small rooms perfect for the budget conscious traveller.
Value for money.
- Paul (8/5): - Good for the price
- Maninder (6/5): - Room smelled like cigarettes smoke
- Glen (6/5): - For the price you know what you are going to get. Getting the bad out of the way, there was some interesting stains on the carpet and hair on the walls of the shower. Not to mention the shower is just mists to save water. The things that work well for this place is its location a quick 20min walk to the centre of Dubbo not to mention some great dining options near by. The bed was actually pretty amazing also.
- Sheila (2/5): - Staff were friendly however the beds were hard like rock, pillows were all diiferent softness and one was hard like rock. Rooms were tiny. Barely any space for 4 with luggage.
At 5am onwards we heard door banging. I am assuming people were leaving. I barely slept.
We saw aboriginals drinking in the carpark after dinner. Didnt make us feel safe leaving our car there. We will definitely not be back.
- JOANNE (4/5): - No lift here so 2 flights of stairs to carry your belongings. That's a couple of trips to the car, we are older and have health problems. The room was small and not much in it. They advertised free Wi-Fi but it was only down in reception area not in the rooms. The bed was uncomfortable. Other guests would let their door slam shut, you could hear people talking in the hallway. Will not be staying here again.
- David (6/5): - Rooms clean and ok, the rest lacks maintenance and cleanliness
Rubbish bins full to overflowing in corridors
Corridors needing maintenance
No lift
Water out of taps in kitchenette in room .. disgusting .. undrinkable
- Nathan (4/5): - Carpet was damp and room to small
- Lorraine (8/5): - Room was very small but comfortable
- Bernadette (6/5): - It was fine for the one night I was there. There is not lift so if you have mobility issues or a bad knee, this is not the place for you.
- Maggie (2/5): - Curtains don’t fit,bed head needs replacing pluming in wash basin was broken water not going down sink, stains on carpet
- Michelle (6/5): - The room was what you paid for. The bunk beds were very nosiy and everytime you moved they squeeked and woke the room up. Double D-40 would help. Cockaroaches were found on bed as we were packing up leaving and no where to hang towels in bathroom. Paid for what you get and it suited our purpose.
- Gail (10/5): - Excellent staff extremely friendly and helpful
- Gaurav (2/5): - Bedding was in poor state and bathroom was full of mould.
- Stacey (6/5): - Staff were exceptional
Rooms were not clean showers were dirty hairs
Amenities were not good no fridge or microwaves
Tea,coffee and milk had to buy more not enough for 2
- Sandip (2/5): - Not very good, I was not happy
Price is expensive as per accommodation
Conjusted rooms, parking problem
No facilities available
- Jim (6/5): - Didn’t clean rooms
- Evelynne (2/5): - Room was filthy. We had a hole that someone else previously had punched into our bathroom door. No soap provided in rooms. The hotel itself had a very run down (not cheap and cheerful) look.
- Heather (4/5): - This property needs a lot of TLC. Staff and Management were lovely and price was super cheap but small, poorly maintained and ill equipped rooms made for an uncomfortable stay.
- Saining (10/5): - Cleaned
- Brendan (2/5): - Dreadful room. Carpet filthy and torn. No soap provided until requested. No doona, had to use 2 threadbare blankets. Overall terrible, will not stay here again.
- Rachael (10/5): - Lovely staff really nice n they loved seeing my daughter every morning
- Amanda (6/5): - Bed needs to be upgraded
- Laura (6/5): - Very run down and not clean, no table to put belongings on or bench in bathroom. Tv pointed towards ceiling. No fridge. Over priced for the condition
- Yenny (8/5): - Good
- Justine (10/5): - I love this motel as the staff are friendly and helpful. The place is an older building and the staff keep it as clean as they can. It is not a luxury type of accomodation as it is all very basic. The price per room is budget and I love it.
I would come to this motel, due the cleanliness, sense of safety; it close to the hotel for a pub meal and plenty of parking
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Seen better days.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fit for purpose - Temperature of the room was very good clean sheets and towels.tv worked well.cauld invest in carpet cleaning solution and shower tile cleaning spray would impress evenmore.or employ someone once a month to clean showers and carpet to standard just a suggestion.
- Michelle (8/5): - It was cheap but good and clean. If your not looking for the ritz but want somewere clean and comftable to stay. Then this is a very good place to stay
- Peter (6/5): - Quite noisy with other unruly guests
- Lyn (8/5): - Room was so small you could hardly swing a cat in it. Very disappointing. I would have at least expected a table where you could sit and eat!
- Ian (2/5): - Wouldn't stay there again.
- Jill (6/5): - Not happy with the dirty old carpet but staff very helpful.
- Tracy-Lee (8/5): - Easy to find on main road, good parking, clise to the zoo
- Janet van (10/5): - Staff was fantastic very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you
- Joseph (2/5): - Shower curtain was off the wall , 3 person bed was not made , would never stay there again
- Michele (8/5): - The hotel was your typical Ibis hotel- what you would expect. The reception lady was very nice. The shower had good water pressure and hot however not high enough for tall people. Need a power point near the bedside table.
- Colin (8/5): - Good location
- glenda (10/5): - easy to get to and quite
- Lindy (6/5): - The shower was quite dirty and there was mould on the carpet under the window sill
- Lesley (4/5): - Property is in poor condition, in need of a renovation. Front desk staff were excellent
- fay (6/5): - Staff courtesy but were originally shown to s room which wss not made up. This was rectified but it's not a good start to a stay.
- TonyD3760 (4/5): Passing through - The sheets were clean also towels. The room could do with a clean. Carpet thread bare and dirty. Stairs and Passage way no better. Breakfast average. The fruit in the bowl was going off.
May need a visit to the Canberra Ibis for afew hints.
The Hotel is close to Restaurants so you only need to walk to Dinner.
- Tab (4/5): - It was a very budget motel. Thin walls, can hear people snoring and people's doors slamming. Room service knocked really loud room next door at 11.15pm yelling 'room service'. Didn't consider anyone else who might be asleep. Carpets have threds pulled, not really clean.
There was No ventilation in our bathroom. The only Window could only be open, maybe a index finger width, security connection at top with no screens.
- Wini (2/5): - Nothing unique. For the price i expected basic accomodation. It was below that. Bed was lumpy. No fridge. No area for storing clothes etc. Aircon very noisy needed to climb on chsir to adjust settings. Bathroom tap was loose. 3 settings, hot very hot and scalding hot. Do i need to go on?
- Robert (6/5): - Watchout for the junkies.
- Nichole (8/5): - Overall cleanliness needs attention, no fridge in room as advertised, staff were member who checked us in was lovely and had great customer service skills.
- John (10/5): - Staff were very accomodating and friendly
- Jacquelyn (2/5): - No air conditioner remote control.Couldn’t adjust fridge temperature.Dirty carpet.Shower faucet hang ing out of wall. Bed very hard
- Nick (10/5): - Budget priced accommodation, small, won't suit everyone but was fine for my needs.
Small negative, carpet was damp outside bathroom from previous shower splash, signs of mould on it.
- Mark (8/5): - It’s purpose, it gave me a bed overnight, which is all I wanted.
- Wini (6/5): - Rooms very basic pillows hard as rock. Its ok for one or 2 days but not for extended stay
- Andrew (2/5): - Rooms were outdated, and very poorly kept. Floor and bathrooms were disgusting. Room was full of cockroaches!! I only stayed the one night (just!..) but booked for more!. Left at first light to greener pastures!…
- Briony (8/5): - Nice size bathroom facilities compared to other Ibis Budgets we have stayed at. After hours check-in process was communicated well and staff on check out were friendly.
- Linda (8/5): - Beds could be comfier
- Alex (2/5): - Unsatisfactory
- Kate (2/5): - Had to lug my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs to get to my room.
Room was so old n outdated.
No powerpoints to charge phones. Wasn’t a nice experience staying here.
- Mark (10/5): - Staff were extremely helpful & friendly
- Janet (8/5): - Totally fine for budget accommodation. What you see is what you get. Staff were very good. Pillows were ok if you folded them in half. Bed was adequate. Could feel springs.
- Judith (8/5): - Good for an overnight stay
- Loida (6/5): - No kitchen utensils
- Nick (2/5): - I get that this is a budget hotel, but COME ON!
I have stayed in backpacker hostels for 1/6th the price which were cleaner and felt safer.
I booked here, because we were just passing through, and needed a check in after 7pm.
I specifically selected to pay upon check in, as I was on a business trip, and needed to use a seperate card than the one linked to my account.... which didnt happen. My card was charged.
I wasnt bothered as its not the staffs fault.
The carpark was occupied to capacity, and evidently had a couple of winners staying there who decided to park their emotional support vehicles across 2 carparks, meaning that my vehicle was left with no spot, and as a result I had to park in a staff reserved carpark overnight (which was of no consequence, as I ended up leaving after about 8hrs anyway)
The rooms were appalling. Seriously.
The less said about them, the better. But plenty of other reviews have said enough to get the point across.
Ultimately, after about 8hrs, I decided to just get on the road at 4:30am, to put as much distance between me and Dubbo as I possibly could.
Absolute waste of time and money, as I would have been better off just sleeping at a rest area somewhere else.
- Veronika (6/5): - It was a good and cheap quick stop on our journey. People has been talking loudly all night on the hallway?and kids screaming. So our sleep wasnt good at all, which was hard with early start and very long day ahead of us.
Room was very clean, bed sheets too.
- Albert (10/5): - Needs reno ,carpets interior painting especially public areas
- Matthew (2/5): - Asked to have a taxi booked fo the morning to take me to the airport it never turned up. Homeless guy sleeping outside the front door.
- Paul (6/5): - The operating hours were excellent and catered for my later arrival. The bedrooms are quite small, without room for a chair, so sitting on the bed is the next best thing. The bathrooms are also small and full wet area design. No room on the floor for morning stretches, before starting the day. This facility really is a bed and a shower/toilet/basin. Suited me for one night, not my preference if I needed to stay any longer though.
- Tristan (8/5): - I think the establishment lives up to its name sake “Budget” quite well.
- Building could do with an update
- Room was very basic and somewhat worn
- $99 price is suitable
- Young lady behind the counter on the PM shift was great. Friendly & helpful
- Larissa (8/5): - Kids enjoying the pool
