Guest Reviews
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Cooper (10/5): Awesome - Good place and spa was good
- Kathryn (10/5): A welcome night of indulgence after 48 Knms hiking the stunning Capes on the South-East coast of Tasmania - The chalet with warm and cozy and offered all the comforts I could possibly have wanted, including the spa bath. After four days hiking the 3 Capes it was a little slice of heaven. Thanks, Eloise, I really enjoyed staying at Little Norfolk Bay. Nothing
- Jennifer (4/5): - The room was quiet a good size just poorly layedout. Unfortunately, my stay was disappointed by the poor condition of the room. It felt very aged and lacked proper upkeep—the shower floor was damaged, lights didn't work, and the TV remote was faulty. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and well past their prime. Additionally, the room was quite tight with very little walking space around the bed and no where to put my luggage. Not the level of quality I was expecting
- Claire (7/5): -
- Lainie (7/5): -
- Greg (8/5): - Good location and easy to find
- Petra (8/5): Komfortabel - Schön gelegen, komfortabel, grosszügige Unterkunft Etwas kalt im Badezimmer, keine Heizmöglichkeit.
- Woollybear (8/5): Wonderful experience - Overall it was a great experience. All facilities that I expected were there. The Dome was comfortable and the breakfast was great. Nice and quiet.
- Isabella (5/5): Close to tourist attractions but rundown with many faults. - Great view from the bedroom window. We booked and paid for a sea view room. We were given a garden room (cheaper option). When we called the host, she informed us that all rooms cost the same and booking.com is charging people for extra for sea view when this is not guaranteed. Not sure if this is true but either way, if someone is paying extra for a specific room, they should get that room. The host said we could go into the other room. It was empty so not sure why we weren’t allocated the sea view room in the first place. Within the room there were a few issues, cracked windows, broken light bulbs, a leak in the shower causing flooding. I have added photos. The place felt rundown and not cared for. There was a bunny kept outside in a cage all by itself.

- Macca (9/5): - The views and set up is fantastic, check in is simple and the atmosphere is lovely. Its great now it has the bistro sadly we could take up on the fantastic offer of a prepared meal, if it wasn't for personal reason would have done so for sure. The owner is a known chef. The tv is old only got 3 or 4 local channels. Need to be updated. Ive stayed here multiple times and have given this feedback, almost didn't return for the reason. The pillows very thin, practical had to sleep on my arms to get comfort.
- Tony (9/5): - Beautiful cabins and a huge comfy bed .
A place you could relax at for days and be happy
Instructions were good and self check in worked well for us .We never saw,a staff member we A little out of our budget .Pricey but quality
The Restaurant was a non event so we travelled to Port Arthur for dinner
- Pamela (8/5): Relaxing - Quiet, clean, close to Peninsula sites, great spa!
- Celia (8/5): It was a last minute decision to stay here & owners were very accommodating. The only thing we found out was the res - Very clean & tidy , comfortable bed Very unusual position of bed raised up which was tricky to get out of at night - a bit dangerous I thought & all to do with positioning of spa bath
- Derek (10/5): Great cabin with beautiful view. Amazing food at onsite restaurant. - Great cabin with beautiful view. Indoor spa was lovely. Owner is a chef so food at the restaurant on site was fabulous.
Really enjoyed our stay. Great location to explorer Port Arthur. Highly recommend boat tours too. Saw the southern light to :) Nothing
- Robyn (10/5): -
- Jennifer (4/5): The location near a busy road and the facilities were disappointing. - Self contained with washer and dryer. Traffic noise and main appliances didn’t work including air conditioner so it was quite cold.
- Geoff (7/5): Tripping back to the 80s - The chalets are set back off the road behind the restaurant. It was a super comfy bed good to have a choice of pillows. A very unusual layout reminiscent of the early 80s.
Didn't realise it was a sunken lounge. As you get older, you get up during the night - needed to put the light on disturbing partner, to navigate around bottom of bed & spa without tripping.
Bathroom floor tiles and shower in need of maintenance.
Surfaces were cleanish but dusty.furniture.
Guest notes are out of date re use of washing machine; dryer is not effective.
The water went off when we were getting ready for bed - apparently this happens when there is even a momentary interruption to power. Pump needed to be reset - would be good to include in guest notes.
This was an average standard of cabin, definitely not a "luxury" cabin.
- Wachtel (8/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): It was wonderful, comfortable accommodation to stay in after a long day walking around Port Arthur. -
- Kate (10/5): Quiet, peaceful location - Quiet, peaceful location. Felt very homely with beautiful view. Clean with easy parking.
- Lee (10/5): -
- Mohamed (8/5): Good enough - Good location for Port Arthur and surrounding area
Decent cooking facilities, has a washing machine and dryer
Perfectly fine Nothing special for the price
- Kate (9/5): - My son and daughter in law loved it
- Nicholas (10/5): Hidden Gem - The owners are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
The chalet itself was comprehensively set up for luxury self contained living, with the convenience of fine dining at the bistro just outside your door.
The locality is peaceful and set among beautifully maintained gardens with views to the waterfront. I've not felt as genuinely welcomed at a property before in my travels. Nothing. I visited during a serious weather event and the power was interrupted for approximately 1 hour. The hosts were quick to assure that a generator was being sourced and offered that they would supply a hot meal on the house if they could not restore power. They went above and beyond at every time during my stay.
- rachel (8/5): Super cute, cozy atmosphere - This room was super cute! It had literally everything you could want- washer, dryer, clothes rack, fridge, spa bath in the middle of the room… it had it! The view to the water was stunning at sunset too! It was mostly clean and had a very laid back feel, even checking in. The whole atmosphere was fun. I’d stay here again! So, theres three steps down to the living area and then three back up to the bed area in the middle of the room. Look, I’m clumsy. So I did trip down the steps and hurt my knee because I was carrying my suitcase and didn’t see them… so I wouldn’t recommend to older people/anyone clumsy/or anyone who has to get up to go to the toilet a lot at night haha. But if you’re not blind like me, you’ll be fine.

- Pam (9/5): This is our second visit and you cannot fault the great location and hospitality of the hosts. - The owners are amazing and cooked us dinner on their night off. The location is perfect for visiting Port Arthur and surrounding sites. The furniture is a little tired. New dining chairs and outdoor chairs would be worthwhile investing in. Also replacing the pillows would make for a more comfortable nights sleep.
- Lisa (7/5): Spacious and comfortable chalet in a good location for exploring Port Arthur - Spacious and comfortable chalet in a good location for exploring Port Arthur. The views of the sea and garden area were fabulous with lots of birds, wildlife and wallabies. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking meals. Plenty of towels and toiletries available for use as well as a washing machine. The hob and kitchen table were both left with grease marks and smears. The cleanliness of the property was only ok in my opinion. The TV was not a smart tv so no access to streaming services only cable. This was not a major issue but. WiFi was not accessible from our chalet but Telstra phone service was available.
- Murray (9/5): Comfortable Luxury - Very comfortable, large rooms, with a good kitchenette and bathroom. Bath next to the bed was a little odd, but the view is hard to argue about (and the shower was great). All very clean, easy to park, and would definitely recommend. Hosts provided good information remotely, and left a few useful treats. Be aware that the attached restaurant requires booking well in advance. We'd misunderstood and had thought we could maybe pick up something on the day, but it was fully locked and we never saw anyone on site.
- Valerie (8/5): Used this accommodation for access to Tasman National Park - only one night but very pleasant - Accommodation very comfortable. King bed, good quality linen/towels. Well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer. Outlook very pleasant across the property towards the water. Bistro on site. Would recommend. Nothing to not like
- Brooke (7/5): - Great property, good price, no spare blanket though. I was cold!
- Jonathan (8/5): Well located at gateway to the peninsula, excellent bistro. - Excellent bistro Little dated but chatacter shone through
- Greg (9/5): -
- Patrik (8/5): - The heater is not effective.
- Simone (9/5): Excellent clean facilities and well priced. - Gorgeous chalet with everything you need, including a spa with a beautiful view. Close to all the Port Arthur attractions and spectacular scenery. Nothing
- Kim-Lee (9/5): -
- Debbie (8/5): -
- Broderick (7/5): -
- Roddick (8/5): -
- Ossie (8/5): Comfortable stay in pleasant location - Comfortable stay for one night. Our chalet felt in need of a little TLC, otherwise perfectly fine. Staff were very friendly. Chalet needed a few maintenance tasks done to spruce it up. Particularly the main blind to the deck.
- Alicia (10/5): -
- Judith (9/5): -
- Kate (10/5): -
- Rowena (8/5): Good place to stay for Port Arthur visit - It looked gorgeous and had a lovely view. The room was huge. Check in/out was straight forward even when the bistro wasn't open. The staff were very communicative via app. It had everything you want, including a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I only stayed one night but it's a good setup for a much longer stay. It was freezing! I'm a total wimp in the cold, admittedly, but the heater didn't feel like it was quite up to the task of hearing the whole space.
- Peter (8/5): -
- Brenda (9/5): - Very nice and self catering chalets set in lovely garden surroundings. Everything was provided. The chalets were roomy and well set up with all the necessities with lots of towels available for both showering and using the spa if you want to. The main blind was faulty and when you lowered it, it kept on going past the floor and then bunched up on the floor curving out from the window.
- Narelle (8/5): Cozy cabin for short stay. Not recommended for those with mobility issues. - Location to Port Arthur historical site was great. Accommodation was quiet and facilities met our needs. Hosts were great Would not recommend cabins for anyone with mobility issues. Sunken lounge off both kitchen and bedroom area could pose a fall hazard in the middle of the night. Bed took up all the room and had to crawl off the end of the bed to get out. Tiles to bottom of shower area were loose
- Andrew (10/5): lovely location with great accommodation facilities and a wonderful bistro restaurant -
- Rosemary (8/5): - Great cottage very unique, great washing facilities, a small problem with the hot plates but was fixed quickly by message to owner. Just a little maintenance could fix that problem. Huge king bed and plenty of towels.
Great overnight stay
- Marty (10/5): -
- Troy (8/5): - Nice quiet spot close to Port Arthur. Would recommend
- Kristy (9/5): -
- Samantha (9/5): -
- Kaza (10/5): - Everything was perfect, wonderful staff, cabin was comfy, soa was amazing
- Steve (3/5): I have stayed at 100’s of places over the years and have never experienced a stay as disappointing as this one. - Early Check in and location I booked this room for 2 nights. The kitchen oven had no dial engravings so there was no way of selecting functions or temperature. The TV is prehistoric with no options for Netflix or any other internet service. There is around 6inches each side of the bed due to the location of the spa bath. I went to use the spa bath, one of jets was missing and there were fluids floating in the water so I abandoned it. The entire room shook when the washing machine went through its spin mode and the dryer intimately worked. The air conditioning was not powerful enough to heat the room. There was a heater in a cupboard, but this made little difference. The curtain at the front door would continually unroll itself once lowered.
- Wendy (8/5): - We stayed for one night visiting the surrounding areas. The chalet is very nice, roomy with well equipped with kitchen living area. We dined in the Bistro & Ellie recommended the 3 course special for $59 per person. This was the best dinner we had so far during our trip in Tasmania. Will definitely booked again and enjoyed our stay greatly
- Jacinta (8/5): - Great accommodation option for Tasman Peninsula. The accommodation was comfortable and the food at Little Norfolk Bistro was delicious.
- Colin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Linda (9/5): Linda - Couple - Cosy, comfortable and accommodating. Great layout. Bed was to close to the walls. Cleaner needs to check dishes as the last person had placed them back into the drawer wet and slightly dirty.
- Stacy (10/5): - The property was very nice and we were able to find it just after dark with communication from the host. The cabin had a sunken living room and loads of windows to see nature through. There were pull down shades for privacy as needed. Having a washer and dryer in the unit with laundry soap provided was very helpful. We did not use the kitchen facilities but they were adequate for a several night stay. Instead we frequented the amazing restaurant on sight both evenings and really enjoyed our meals. The chef is amazing and her dishes are clearly cooked and presented with love.
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (5/5): Lovely area just needed a little bit of attention to detail - Had all the amenities -was lovely little chalet Couldn’t get the heating on the air con unit to come on so very cold
- Saranya (8/5): Honeymoon Suite Feel - Loved all the amenities in the room! Including the well stocked kitchen with oil, salt and pepper, the massive bed, the spa and the extra large towels. Beautiful and private room with a honeymoon suite feel. Easily able to communicate with staff via text messages. Sofa could be renewed - a bit old and able to feel the springs underneath, but still functional. Otherwise no complaints!
- Peter (9/5): Great value and location to explore the Tasman Peninsula - Lovely location, spacious, light and airy and good views, with friendly hosts NA
- Jenny (10/5): Lovely Chalet. - Staff very helpful and responsive. Self contained Chalet was just lovely. Very clean and well presented, very liveable, nice large windows with good views, with blinds for night privacy in Spa... Washing powder supplied to use with washing machine (very appreciated as other place we stayed did not supply. )
Bed very comfortable. Plenty of towels. Very spacious.
Great value for money.
- Leah (10/5): - We loved this beautiful little cabin! Great service from the owners and a really private quiet location. Offered early check-in without us even asking! The only negative was the couch really needed to be replaced as it’s unusable
- Jodi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, excellent facilities, it felt very relaxing we loved the spa. We ordered a lasagne for our room that was well worth the money and tasted amazing and made it easy to have a good meal.
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Average - Average experience. Internal steps were a little hazardous when waking in the night to use the bathroom or kitchen. Restaurant was mostly closed. Otherwise average if passing through Port Arthur. Recommend on athe Bay Restaurant down the road.
- Bryony (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely modern self contained cottage set in pretty gardens across from the water., in a central position to all Tasman Peninsula attractions. Private and well appointed, Would highly recommend..
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- anne (8/5): - Loved watching the wildlife around our cabin
Not much in the way of stores for supplies or restaurants that was a disappointment
The sunken floor for us as older folks was a bit of a hazard otherwise very good clean n tidy
- Mckenna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rebecca (10/5): Fabulous food and staff - Everything The fact I had to leave
- Mel (10/5): - Loved the coziness & warmth of all the wood 😍
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice room with everything we needed. Good shower and really comfortable bed. Short drive to Port Arthur Penal Colony and the Lavender farm Nothing
- Murrette (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (8/5): Very good - Location for our activities
Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with native fauna
- D (8/5): 1 night stay Feb’25 - Perfect for short stay
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Erin (6/5): Not a bad stay. - Not a bad stay however, our split system wouldn’t work so we woke up pretty freezing as we couldn’t put the heater on.
- Kroon (8/5): Very good - Great comfortable bed and sitting area. The on-site restaurant was closed during our stay. The facilities for self catering were not amazing but we worked around that
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): Really enjoyed the privacy of the isolated building and views including birds coming up to the windows. - Great outlook from anywhere in the room, unusual layout and the spa, kitchen and laundry. Nice having a deck to sit out on. Appreciated the extra clean large windows to enjoy the view and birds. No ironing facility in laundry. Bed would have been OK to be just a queen - wasn’t a lot of room there with the spa.
- Philip (10/5): Loved the food provided by the host, both in their restaurant and meals delivered to our room. -
- Martin (9/5): Unique experience - Unique setting, very nice garden, very comfortable room
- Russell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (5/5): Generally pleasant in a good location - Location was good. Bed was comfortable. Facilities were clean There is a large step in the space which is not clearly visible initially due to the uniform colour of the flooring (I tripped down it when carrying luggage into the room). It's presence also made it quite difficult to safely move around when getting up to use the bathroom at night
- Paul (8/5): The hostess was great and friendly - Spacious and clean Need a new plug for the bath
- Stu (8/5): Friendly staff - Great location, and tremendous friendly staff and food The Bed was probaly to big for the space thats all
- Cecelia (10/5): - We loved our stay. Will definitely recommend to friends and we are planning to return. Eli’s cooking is second to none. We loved absolutely everything about this special place!
- Stephen (6/5): - Place was dirty…tons of dead flies on the floor at check in. Also Read description carefully. On site Restuarant is not open during week and no operating cafe in the area for good coffee. Layout is poor…there is no closet or dresser to unpack your stuff..and no counter space or wall hooks to help out. We put the floor plants in the spa tub to create a little space ON THE FLOOR for our bags. Communication by text was good…they fixed the broken heater within 24 hours.
- Louise (9/5): Perfect for an overnight stay close to Port Arthur Historical Site. - We liked the quaint cottage style, surrounding by beautiful gardens. Limited wifi and poor tv access
- Sue (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cassandra (10/5): Loved it - Friendly, easy check in and exceptional cleanliness and quality Restaurant is a little pricey with not many other food options around area
