Mike (8/5): Amazing experience but its all a bit tired. - The position is amazing and Eungella has so much to offer. We saw platypus, hiked and immersed ourselves in the history and views of the area. The Cedar Gallery is well worth a visit, the drinks and cheese platter were brilliant and Owen is a great host and tour guide. Unfortunately the Broken River Resort is very tired. It was clean enough but the whole property needs a revamp and lots of money spent to upgrade the restaurant and all the accommodation. The bed was not very comfortable . We loved our stay and the position is great, just a pity the quality of accommodation dosent match the experience.
Peter (7/5): We saw platypus in the wild - Location for seeing platypus in the wild was excellent. The restaurant is open only on Fri/Sat nights - if you don’t bring your own food on other nights, the four options on the dinner menu which you pick up in a takeaway container to take to your room are only average eg the fried calamari is so tough they should exclude it from the seafood basket, replaced a couple more prawn cutlets. Better still, byo food to this isolated spot and use the microwave, cutlery etc in your room. By the way, en route in or out, the coffee and people at Earth Side Wellness Hub at Finch Hatton are outstanding. The dinner isn’t great.

Wirklich unfassbar schön mitten im Regenwald … nur fünf Minuten von den Hiking Trails entfernt - wir haben zwei Schnabeltiere sehen können- magisch Die Cabin war dreckig, muffig, klamm - das Restaurant ist ungemütlich und es gab nur drei frittierte Gerichte zur Auswahl, die wir uns besser gespart hätten.

Adam (3/5): A great way to waste hundreds of dollars - The location is beautiful, that’s literally it. Restaurant & main lounge area was not open at all in 4 days. Nearest place to get food is a 5km drive… that’s 3 times a day having to go out to get food. There is no signal here, except from the Wifi you can get in the main lounge area… which was closed. Nice one! There were no tours available, the furniture & beds are old & decrepit- which fits the outdated cabins & decor. Bedsheets & pillows were dirty, the complimentary shower gels etc were half empty. Place is genuinely falling to bits & the owners are no where to be seen. This is the third time I’ve stayed here & in shocked to how abandoned it feels. I will not be staying here again under the current ownership

In the river near by, (during dawn so you have to get up early) we saw the Platypus. The next day we had a great hike through the forest. During dawn the forrest is filled with animal sounds. Chervorn (6/5): Best crumbed steak I’ve ever had! - Very quiet and peaceful. The night sky is absolutely astonishing and the platypus walk is a must. The rooms were very out dated, no fans, 2 blown light bulbs. There were trees growing out of the gutters. The pool was disgustingly dirty in school holidays and nothing at all to do for kids. The playground was so old and rickety and very disconnected from the resort but I really can’t call it a resort, it is definitely not a resort. VERY expensive for what you get.

Frank (7/5): Where else are there Platypus 5 minutes away. Come here prepared and you will have a great time. - The location is what sells this. Right next to the river with several platypus to watch is magic. The staff are very friendly and obliging, but seem a little overwhelmed and in need of more hands. The grounds are well kept and surrounded by forrest and trees and the river. The rooms, I don't know about the cabins, are a little tired, but comfortable enough, though ours had an unfortunate smell, and just outside are the trees. Calling it a resort we expected to be able to get breakfast and lunch on site, but the restaurant sems a little ad hoc and was only open for dinner. The room had a fridge and microwave so we could have self catered if we had known, and there is nowhere nearby to buy any groceries. I guess most of the guests stay in the cabins and bring their own food. Dinner was OK, and we made the short drive into Eungella to the hotel there for lunch with a view.

David (5/5): For $320 a night, the 2 bedroom cabin was disappointing & quite dilapidated. - Location was the unbeatable- right next to broken river and platypus. The dining room was cosy with its old timber look and fireplace. The air conditioning worked well. Worst pool I have EVER seen!!! Very old, Dirty, with unusual sloping walls that inhibit you from getting even close to the edges. Blankets were dirty - my son developed a nasty rash and suffered blocked sinuses from his allergy to dust. Airconditioning only available in main living area. Beds were small, not very comfortable and very old. Restaurant food was quite ordinary- the salmon was way overcooked and very dry, the veggies were soggy. The kitchen cupboards, stove and benches were very old and very worn. The balcony timber was very rotted in places with lots of mould. The toilet was from the 70's/early 80's with a huge cistern that wasted a lot of water.

It is a very beautiful location set within the forest. It is the only accommodation within walking distance of the river. There were cobwebs around the light fittings in the room; it felt like it needed a good, deep clean. I emphasise that the sheets and bedding were clean. It is a very basic accommodation, and it did not represent good value for money.

Jessica (5/5): - Location was good, it made it easy to take a walk to see the platypus in the mornings and late afternoons. The rooms are very, very dated and unfortunately smelt very stale. For the price we expected something a little bit nicer.

Yazmin (8/5): A serene escape. - Very earthy in the most charming way possible. A short walk away from the turtles and platypus that inhabit broken river, alongside the facilities offered and a great restaraunt on site. Can’t go wrong. Nothing! I think the only thing critique would be lack of reception but who is focusing on that when you’re surrounded by such gorgeous landscape?

Astrid (7/5): Eungella is a unique destination and with a little TLC Broken River will still be my choice there - The location is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant meal was delicious and the restaurant staff super friendly. Rooms need a refresh/revamp Strong smell of sewerage near patio Receptionist not very friendly and welcoming
Jon (8/5): Lovely and peaceful. Great location. Staff went out of their way to help. - No breakfast. Had a very nice dinner that was fresh and tasty. Some of the furniture needs a little updating but was quite serviceable
Tom (10/5): If you love a nature experience, this is a great place. If you drive an EV they will look after you. - We arrived by using an EV the owners were happy to provide a 10amp power point to keep our EV charged which gave us the ability to explore the surrounding areas. The owners also allowed us to change into another cabin which was a bit bigger and had aircon. The surrounding rainforest was great to explore, platypus down at the river (2 minute walk) wallabies on the property in the evening and seeing a Spotted velvet gecko (native) was a big plus, birds everywhere. Loved it. Nothing.

Malin (8/5): Vintage Vibes with Platypus Watching - Very nice quiet place with cozy cabins. Everything ist old, but that’s kind of the charm. Perfectly located to see the platypus and to do hikes. The reception was great and very friendly! Everything is „vintage“ for people that don’t like that I wouldn’t recommend. It was also a bit dusty in the rooms.

ronald (7/5): Prima plek om de vogelbekdieren bewonderen en enkele hikes in het regenwoud te maken. - Heel dichtbij de vogelbekdieren en goed restaurant met leuke mensen. Beetje verouderd en had best beetje schoner gemogen. Maar plek maakt veel goed.

Klaudia (9/5): Es ist in der Natur und für 1 Nacht ok - Alles ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, war aber alles vorhanden was man braucht, Bett war sehr breit, hat aber gewackelt, wenn sich der andere umdreht und 1 Decke für Europäer ist immer eine Qual,… Dusche war etwas besser als ein Gartenschlauch Man könnte genauer putzen,… die Lamellentür zum Badezimmer da ist der Staub 2 mm hoch,..

Daianira (8/5): Schöne Anlage - Super schöne gepflegte Anlage gleich bei den Plattformen zum Beobachten der Schnabeltiere. Die Zimmer sind sauber und zweckmässig. Leider war das schön eingerichtete Restaurant unter der Woche geschlossen. Schade, dass die Zimmer sehr hellhörig sind.

RJ (8/5): Aanrader voor zien van vogelbekdier - De locatie: op loopafstand van de twee platforms waar je vogelbekdieren kunt zien. Mevrouw achter de receptie is heel vriendelijk. Badkamer en keuken is verouderd, maar dat was geen verrassing. Het laatste stuk van weg naar Eungella is erg steil en veel bochten.

Andrea (8/5): Ideal for National Park . - Location is ideal for walking, spotting wildlife . Very dark inside cabin so had to have lights on . A little dated and restaurant/ take away food had to be pre ordered by 4 as no catering on site .
