- Tracey (10/5): Had a wonderful few days in Daylesford- quiet time, some shopping and reading in the comforts of Chestnut Cottage - Great location. Beautifully presented! Comfy bed! Amazing bathtub in the living area! There was nothing I didn’t like
- Rodney (8/5): - Very spacious studio, great bath in the lounge area by the huge window with bifold shutters viewing the garden and in front of the fire. Great location close to the town centre, fantastic garden with outdoor outdoor dining table. Clean throughout, large kitchen and comfortable queen bed.
- Ornella (7/5): Very nice and close to everything. - Close to the centre The bed
- Alan (5/5): Nice apperance but looking deeper was disappointing - It was lovely to look at when we walked in the house. But it was very dusty and could have been cleaned a lot better. The floors around the skirting boards. Behind the stereo on the floor as i tried to plug into the music. And it lacked cleaning aids to clean properly after cooking breakfast. Plaster behind a gas cook top is not legal. It must have a fire proof surface. And it was not advertised as a joined house the ladies in Maple cottage were lovely and simply enjoyed themselves but we could hear them thru the joining door. As above
- Heather (5/5): Nice place which we have stayed at previously, but really needs some TLC in terms of cleanliness. - Comfortable bed, nice decor and kitchen had all the amenities we needed. Shower was good and toiletries were excellent. Location very handy near main street and other local attractions. Cleanliness was not great - outside the garden and outside the front door really needs attention, inside also needs more cleaning. TV was very basic and kept requiring rebooting.
- Jamie (10/5): Gorgeous location, pet friendly, lovely bath, beautiful Outside area, romantic fire! Loved it! - Gorgeous location, pet friendly, lovely bath, beautiful Outside area, romantic fire! Loved it!
- Helen (8/5): Such a beautiful home and garden. - Beautiful space and outdoor secure garden area is perfect for pooch. Our neighbouring residents children were so rowdy, really spoilt our experience.
But …. A beautiful accommodation- highly recommended.
- Lazaros (9/5): Very nice stay. Recommend too others to stay - It was very clean and in walking distance to the town.
Very good communication from the host Sad to say the reverse cycle aircon was not working properly in heat mode.
This we were dependant on the wood heater.

- Danielle (7/5): - Comfy enough stay, good location, very clean The fact that there was no wardrobe was disappointing, having a fire but having to supply your own firewood given the price of the stay firewood should be supplied, access to the court yard would of been good maybe with a table and chairs out there, the laser lite roofing over the access door is actually dangerous given the fact of the weight of the build up of leaves and the water it holds.
- Teena (10/5): - Everything was there that we needed in the house and close to the main shopping strip. The bed was super comfortable and the house was very clean.Having a bath with the fire was very nice
- Brooke (8/5): - It was exactly like the photos, comfortable bed, quiet, close to town, easy to get too and everything you needed.
- Jacquie (6/5): Would be perfect if it was clean and didn’t smell - Fireplace was nice and location was great. The whole place smelt like food. There is no ventilation in the kitchen, no range hood, and no doors so therefore whatever has been cooked in the kitchen permeates through the whole place. It smelt like cooked sausages or some other kind of fatty meat smell the whole time. Tries to air it out but it didn’t help.
Turned the jets on the bath and up floated lots of black gunk. So gross.
The kitchen utensils, mugs bowls etc were dirty and greasy. A simple fix would be to check these after each guest and run it through the dishwasher that’s there.
I’d never stay here again due to the smell and cleanliness.
It’s a shame because it has so much going for it but I just felt quite grossed out the whole time I was there and even contemplated leaving after the first night.
Please consider some kind of solution for the smell.
- Bronwyn (8/5): Lovely setting very comfortable really enjoyed our time there - Lovely

- Bernard (8/5): Very good - Quiet, comfortable, garden very good Small amount of wood. Part of a winter stay is using the wood fire as main source of heating.

- Kristianne (7/5): Nice little cabin close to town - Location was close to town and within walking distance. Nice and quiet street, nice little getaway. Kitchen needs rangehood, ceiling greasy, and steps and tiles to bathroom were very slippery.

- James (9/5): Perfect short stay in Daylesford - Fantastic stay at Chestnut for 3 nights. Everything we needed and a lovely garden to relax in
- Julie (9/5): Great location, we enjoyed our weekend at Daylesford. - Outdoor Patio could have done with a bit of a cleanup and prune.
- Faye (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (9/5): Fabulous place to stay - Property was excellently located and had everything we needed .
- Qian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leeva (10/5): Where I wish I lived. - The location was outstanding the garden was stunning with all the beautiful colors, and the position of the studio gave us exceptional privacy.. The studio was open and well set up. The place was cozy, comfortable and felt lux.
I loved that it had a fireplace, even though I didn't get to use it because it was too warm.. which is why I was grateful for the split system being strong enough to cool the whole space. The pond was something to manage with the dog, as he kept trying to drink from it.
The living room could do with additional lighting if you want a quiet weekend indoors reading.
But really, this is all knit picking. The stay was amazing.
- Marita (10/5): We had a great time, really clean and well set up accomodation - Great location and really well set up I do not think that the fan in the bathroom is suitable. A lot of moisture
- Mauro (8/5): I liked the place but think it could have been cheaper for two nights - The location was perfect and could not faulted.
The gardens are beautiful. We found stains on the bedding.
The milk was not fresh and was frozen in little drying container like you find in cheap motels.
- Garry (9/5): Superb - An awesome get away in a handy location. Only a 5 minute walk into town A little bit expensive
- Leigh (9/5): Beautiful, creative, private & warm space - perfect for a short adventure in a beautiful town - Central location, quiet & private
Clean & comfortable space
Log fire created a warm & ambient environment Sink in bathroom did not drain well but other than that, everything was great
- Gabriella (9/5): Superb - Great location in relation to everything in Daylesford. You can walk to everything you need with no issues. It is a very spacious and with great facilities.
- Holly (10/5): wonderful stay for our babymoon with all the comforts to make us feel relaxed - Cozy and had everything we needed
- Miranda (9/5): Lovely Autumn in Daylesford - It was peaceful, very clean, well maintained. Adored the log fire.
The bed was comfortable.
It was in walking distance of the restaurants. A word to the wise the bowling club at the end of the street is value for money. We are kiwis and we thought it would be serviced, is this an Australian thing?
For this price it was disappointing to have heaps of cutlery but only 2 missed match wine glasses.
The spa pool needs to be used more often as black stuff came out the pipes.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (6/5): It was okay - The bathroom was 3 steps down a corridor, no hand rails, my husband is elderly and has to get up multiple times during the night.
I was afraid he might slip.
- Lyndell (9/5): Superb - A perfect break, studio was lovely and spotlessly clean. The garden was great for my little dog to roam.
- Teresa (10/5): Love the accommodation - The bath was fantastic after a day of trekking around on a warm day.
Bed was so comfortable. A larger fridge would be good.
The blind above bed was open and unable to close as hook broken.
- Carley (5/5): Passable - location was great it was not clean (dust and cobwebs) there was broken blind right above the bed, the windows didn’t open and no screen door so impossible to get fresh air with the house getting full of flies and there was unfinished renovation work in the both room above the shower.
- Mersina (10/5): wonderful home in great location - chestnut daylesford was a beautiful and cosy property . great location with walking distance to shops . would highly recommend
- Natalie (8/5): Very good -
- Tatiana (9/5): Loved it and would stay again but maybe not in winter unless heating impproved.. - Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful Street, just down from the Convent and very close to the centre of Daylesford. The property is beatifully done. Great kitchen with stove & oven. Loved this as did our own cooking several times.Electric blankets were great as temperature got down to minus three, Liked the trolley in tbe bathroom. Liked the generosity of all the spaces.Fantastic that we could have our dog with us. Freezing cold rooms on arrival. Just one wall panel heater. One other one near the wood heater didnt work. Took all day to heat up the place - barely. Small amount of wood provided. Had to buy some wood as the help desk said that what little was provided is all we would get as wood fires not environmentally friendly. No instructions for air conditioner or anything else. Aircon only blew cold air which we realised aftsr having it on 28 for half an hour.. Not enough light in lounge/bed area for reading. No railings going down tthe steps to a freezing cold bathroom. Not good parking instructions. Husband has walking stick. Could not make it up steep driveway from road. We parked the car inside the gate on tbe stones next to the accommodation or along side the front cottage with no problems. No glass in bathroom for teeth brushing.
- Fiona (8/5): We loved our stay in this quality apartment. To be able to also bring our small dog was a bonus. - This apartment was lovely, bigger than expected and great location to town. Even thought it was a very cold part of winter, it was very warm and cosy. Nothing
