Guest Reviews
- Norma (8/5): - Its location for our purposes is great.
Parking is an issue with time restricted during the day - maybe they can get help from the council for this.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean. Comfortable bed. Very convenient for airport.
Very basic, but good value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was a dead roach on the stairs and trash from the previous guest still in the room
- David (10/5): - Needed a great room close to airport good food and some great little shops
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Simple and clean accomodation. Convenient location and great food at the bistro. Rooms close to beer garden were a little noisey from patrons downstairs. Overall no complaints
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Will never stay at this hotel on a Friday night again.
No where to park in the back street!
Have stayed at this pub before and enjoyed the food BUT Friday nights the place is packed with tradies and other hi vis shirted guys and girls every where so didn't eat there went to the next hotel.
Could'nt get to sleep because of NOISY Karaoke going on till very late.
Sorry but Friday nights are disappointing at this pub!
- Lukas (8/5): - we are over 80 years old and hat to carry our luggage up and down the stairs our self.No lifts!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to air port ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was good location to the airport, it was a hotel but did not like the way we checked in. This was done through the bar and we had to complete paperwork which had credit card details on it and it was just placed on a bench as the staff went off to serve other patrons
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not very impressed. The water heating kettle wasn’t working. The floor carpet looks bit ugly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location great and staff very friendly, meals were great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place. Be aware music plays until midnight and WiFi didn't reach rooms. Good is meant to be good there.
Rooms are pretty nice
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Check in was hopeless. Girls being bar hadn't a clue
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location near the airport, parking easy and once the pub crowd eased off (about 9pm), it was very quiet. Rooms are very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location. Room neat and tidy. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to the airport and easy to get in and out of.
Parking close.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room on ground floor was close to pub patio & recycling bin, so a bit noisy. Room had a musty smell but otherwise was fine.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Its really close to the airport, Friendly staff, check in was quick and they booked a taxi for our return to the airport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location near the airport!
WiFi wasn’t working! 😞
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good and bad - Close to Sydney airport and unlike other 2 or 3-star hotels in Sydney with shared bathrooms, the rooms at Captain Cook Hotel have a private bathrooms. Clean too. The only thing really that disappointed me is that their WiFi was not working the whole time i was there. Not even in the lobby/lounge/pub area. Good thing the hostess was kind enough to allow me to use the computer in their office. But still, i would have preferred the convenience of WiFi. Overall, i'd give Captain Cook a 3 out of 5.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff were friendly. Value for money. Good location the food is also good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and convenient to what we wanted to do. Staff helpful and accommodating
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good Value, Friendly staff, Clean room, very good value meals here. Good location if you are flying in or out of Sydney
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean with comfortable bed & barhroom facilities. Working mans Pub underneath with some great beers & a bit of character. Suited me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful & apologetic staff at check in with a small hiccup with room, not their fault. Previous guest taking both keys to room and they promptly gave myself & mate a room each t no extra charge. Very helpful and considerate. Rooms were comfortable and clean and perfectly located to the Lakes Golf Club for our Australian Open Golf weekend. only 3 mins to the course.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All good, staff couldn't help the blackout but they did there best to minimise its impact.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Seems a well known hotel with a lot of regulars and very helpful people and staff
- Diane (6/5): - I did read reviews and knew this was above a pub. However, checking in on a Saturday night, I hadn't anticipated the noise level. The gentleman at the bar checked me in but we pretty much had to yell to hear each other. Live band playing and the place was packed. I checked in around 10 pm. I was a solo female traveler and I was uncomfortable walking through the pub to check in. The room was adequate for a single night. Bed comfortable and bathroom clean. I was in Sydney for less than 10 hours and didn't want to spend a lot on a room. Location ideal for airport access.
- Phil (6/5): - No wi fi no tv in room. All I got was oh I’m sorry
Girls chewing gum when serving was ugly
Otherwise clean pub good food
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff. About what you expect for the price and location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable - We stayed in a Sunday night so it was very quiet. Comfortable and clean. Pretty close to airport for an early flight on Monday morning.
- Barb (10/5): - staff were very accommodating with great service. Very close to airport which is what we wanted. Will go back if in Sydney again
- KEITH (10/5): Great Aussie pub - A real characterful Aussie pub with rooms. Good range of beers and food at reasonable prices. The room was quite simple, but fine for our one night stay before flying out. The rooms overlook the rear courtyard, but we had no noise for our midweek stay in May. Staff are friendly and helpful with things like ordering taxis. No breakfast is served but there are places opposite open from about 3 a.m. for eating in or take away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly hotel close to the airport. - Friendly staff, easy and qick check-in at the bar. Rooms are upstairs, no lift. Room was very clean. The rug a little worn. The bed was saggy, but OK for one night. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean.
- Di (8/5): Old pub accommodation - Convenient location close to airport. Slept soundly. Great breakfast at nearby cafe. Definitely recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good traditional pub - Great traditional Aussie pub/hotel. Friendly with good welcome, good food and a lively vibe
- Dorothy (8/5): Classic hotel, with rooms above pub, well-run. - We found our stay here surprisingly comfortable, given that it is above a pub. Yes, it was noisy in the early evening, but the noise died down by 10pm and we slept well. It is surrounded by lots of eating options, including the pub itself! We had Lebanese food for lunch and Italian for dinner, all just meters from the hotel. We caught a cab in the early morning for the airport and it was a reasonable cost. I would recommend the accommodation.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Road noise - Given room facing main road no sound proofing at front door kept awake most of night
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & comfortable, good location near to airport - We had a good nights stay prior to flying out the following day. It was about 5 or 6 Km from the airport and was clean and tidy. The hotel is owned and run by the pub, so check is at the bar.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel close to the airport - Very noisy and hallway had a stale smell. Various loud noises all night
- chris (8/5): Close to airport - Ribs at bistro were the best and very cheap VB was very good as well
- Christine (10/5): Captain Cook is a local pub/hotel - Captain Cook is a local pub/hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It's noisy at the weekend but we were put in quiet rooms on request so no problem there. They have one room catering for disabled on the ground floor. I would definitely use them again as it is close to the airport.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and clean and comfortable rooms . Enjoyed it very much.
- Anne (8/5): Clean, Comfy and Close to Airport - As a woman traveling alone, I was a little concerned when I arrived about 4pm and found a pub full of men. But everyone was very helpful directing me where to check-in. Both bartenders were very helpful with one taking my luggage to my room. The room was simple but very clean and the bed was comfortable. In the evening the dinner crowd was families and couples. Food was good. At check-out the morning manager helped me with my luggage and hailed a cab for me. They couldn't have been nicer. I understand the neighborhood is improving and seemed safe. No elevator to first floor where rooms are. Great price
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would not use again - I'm now not surprsed that I was. Hanged for this room at time of booking some time ago. I arrived at 9pm and had to work my way through the bar to staff to check in. The young gentleman who served me was excellent and showed me through the beer garden to my ground floor room, right next to the beer gardens where patrons were imbibing. I did not feel secure in the room. The worst of it came when I tried to sleep and a droning machine which felt like it was right next to my room droned on for most of the night keeping me awake. Not a pleasant stay at all
- Gail (4/5): Missed that this was over a busy, rowdy bar. - This is not an affordable answer to an airport hotel if you want to sleep. The rooms are over a busy and raucous hotel with out door areas. The patrons partied until midnight and then the cleaners came. We got very limited sleep by leaving the television droning on until the bar patrons left, only to be reawakened by the bar cleaners. The room was moderately comfortable but things like black finger prints on the kettle plug, a loose cupboard door, and slightly sticky tiles in the bathroom made cleanliness a concern. The wifi is spotty and keeps disconnecting.
The staff tried to be helpful but was busy serving bar patrons at the same time.
Although it could be within walking distance of the airport, construction made it difficult to see a pedestrian path. The taxi money would have been better spent on another hotel.
- William (8/5): Good stopover go airport - Rooms are of average size, tea/ coffee & toaster available. Bed comfortable, good shower. Rooms are above a busy pub, so noise could be a problem to a light sleeper. Close to airport, ATM's ,shops close by & meals available in pub.
- PJD (6/5): Noisy as Hell - Location - convenient to a lot of things
Staff - great
Room comfort and cleanliness is fine - as you would expect in a pub
BUT:
Stay in room 1 (see picture - room 1 is right above the front door, and it is the only room at the front of the hotel), and you can kiss goodbye any thoughts of trying to sleep beyond about 4.30am when the traffic starts on Botany Road just outside your window. There are other rooms at the back of the hotel, and I am sure these do not suffer from as much noise, but it was my luck to draw room 1 and it was just impossible to get any sleep because of the traffic.
You would have thought by now the hotel would have had enough complaints to have put some double glazed doors/windows into this room.
I ended up aborting my stay at 5.30am and went and caught an earlier plane home.
Good luck if you draw room 1!!!!!!!!!!
- B n J (6/5): Unique experience - This stay was truly a unique experience. Our taxi dropped us off in front of the sign reading Captain Cook Hotel. It was a sports bar! Check-in was at the bar and you walked through the bar - with all your luggage - to get to the stairs up to the rooms. The rooms were spacious, newly refurbished and very clean. Since our stay was on a Saturday night, bar noise was rather loud since there was an outside area right below our window (all rooms on the second floor) but they closed that section at midnight and no more noise issues.
We requested a cab for in the morning and the barmaid/manager came through - our cab showed up as requested and on time the next morning.
So, if y you're into funky, this is a real treasure - but not for the "faint-hearted/high class required" traveler.
Also, no elevator.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed overnight after flying in the evening from Hawaii. Made most welcome. Early taxi booked for us to return to airport.
- Jeff (6/5):
Last (12th) room terrible - I arrived late and got the last room which is separated from the others. Not at all what I viewed when booking. I'm sure the other rooms are good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was too far away from Sydney for us. The taxi and Uber prices were quite expensive to just get into Sydney. Too far to walk as well. Staff was very nice and the room wasn’t bad. There are plenty of places to eat on the same road as the hotel, so that was nice.
- Claude (6/5): Prakticsl with food and a nice feeling - Many shops around, not to far from Airport.
Taxi was bookt from the hotelsnd well on time early on the morning.
Perfect for one person
- Matthew (8/5): A quirky, throwback Inn - The most important thing to know about the CCH is that it is primarily a storefront bar with rooms upstairs and adjacent. It appears to have accumulated over time, probably both by expanding into adjacent space and building on. It is definitely not a place for kids or anyone hoping to turn in early. The sounds of nightlife (including loud, semi-inebriated karaoke with thumping bass) continue until closing time. After that, it gets pretty quiet. My room was in an older part of the building. It was pleasant enough, and the bathroom was very modern; but the lighting was so-so and the few electrical outlets had been retrofitted into baseboards and most were already occupied. There are no lifts, so if you have heavy luggage, request a downstairs room. You pay in advance, check in at the bar and "check out" by leaving your key in your room. Wifi requires login information. Remember to ask for it a check-in. Food from the grill was excellent and reasonably priced, but don't expect breakfast. It was unclear to me whether there were actually any staff on the premises first thing in the morning. There are coffee joints adjacent on either side.
- Jenny and Norm (10/5): Great local Hotel/Pub - Not your luxury CBD accommodation, so don't bother reading any more.
We like value for money Captain Cook has it.
Close to Airport.
Local hotel/pub vibe with helpful and honest staff.
Great food, great service with big serves and not expensive.
Asked for quiet room, got it No 11 out the back.
Clean and specious with ensuite.
Has Micro, kettle, toaster, tea coffee sugar bags, no hairdryer.
Even has soap, shampoo and body wash in bathroom.
No lifts, does have ground floor accommodation for aided persons what a bonus.
IGA supermarket, cafes, restaurants all within the same block as the hotel.
310 bus route to Eastgardens Shopping Centre.
We highly recommend this accommodation.
Thank you staff
- m (6/5): Ok accommodation - Walking thru the pub to the bar to check made me feel a bit exposed, was ready to rebook something else but linen and bathroom was v clean and fresh and too late to go elsewhere.
- Nitz (6/5): Captain Cook Hotel is okay, close to the airport - Indeed, Captain Cook is close to the airport, a good place to just sleep. The staff were very accommodating. They let us leave our luggage until we could check in. We arrived before 9am and check in time was 2 or 3 pm. Free WiFi was a plus. We just did not realize that you have to go through the Beer Garden to check in and go to your room. The staff were actually the ones working at the beer garden. The housekeeping and maintenance needed some improvement. We were there for 3 nights and our very slow draining sink never got fixed. The shower doors also needed some work.
- Dean (8/5): Close to airport - No off street parking as stated in add, motel rooms basic and over priced, uncomfortable beds, noise from traffic and could not open windows- no fly screens. No after hours food locally or on site.
- Jane (8/5): Close to airport. Nice Pub. - We only stayed one night before our trip home. It is close to the airport and an Uber is reasonable and quick. The room was fine, a little old (but that is character). We enjoyed a steak dinner (very reasonable for Australia) and beers in the pub.
- Les` (8/5): Handy to area we required - Okay for overnight but probably no longer. Room good size, excellent shower. We knew would be noisy so expected that.
- David (8/5): Close to Airport - A typical pubHotel with a busy bar area which doubles as reception for room guests.
Bedrooms are upper floor and access via verandah overlooking courtyard .
Food is reasonably priced and there is ample choice on the menu
Main advantage of hotel is its location 2 miles from airport/ 5 mins away. The Botany Bay Area is well worth exploring as well.
- brad (8/5): nothing wrong - verry good rooms clean people freindly close to transport only complaint for me pillows to soft for me
- Nik (8/5): It is What it Is - We got caught out with the weather that forced most domestic flights out of Sydney to be cancelled. We were tired and over it and it was 11pm. We needed something close to the airport and in all honesty couldnt be bothered heading back into town to our original hotel.
The rooms are clean and the water pressure is fine. Bed was comfortable and that's about it. There is a cool little cafe on the same little shopping strip where the hotel is located. It's a hotel connected to a pub - the Clift in San Francisco it is not. Accept what it is and its fine - beer is cold and they have a small kitchen doing classic pub counter meals that are good.
I wouldn't recommend making a destination of the Captain Cook Hotel, but if you end up in the same situation like we did, or just have waay too much to drink in the pub downstairs, it is fine for a night or 2 of forced accommodation.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great hotel, good meals, wonderful staff - really lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay there again
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic but does the job... - Very no frills - it's a pub with some rooms. The room itself had the basics and it fit the need of having a place that wasn't too far from the airport as a place to stay the night before a flight. Wifi didn't work in room - had to be in pub for it to work.
- Verified traveler (2/5): a couple of key issues made this a bad stay - I booked this room via Hotels.com. On the hotel's profile, it says it is a "3-star hotel in Botany with restaurant, bar/lounge". As many hotels have restaurants & bars, I didn't think twice about it. But it would be more accurate to say that is is a lively neighbourhood pub with rooms upstairs. If lively is fine with you, great. But there was nothing on the profile to indicate just how noisy it would be. I prefer quiet rooms when I book a hotel, so I did not enjoy that aspect of my stay.
Also on the profile page, under "Main amenities", it lists "12 smoke-free guestrooms" and, under "Other information", it lists that it is a "Smoke-free property". I am severely allergic to cigarette smoke (this isn't me not liking it; this is my airway closes up and I can't breathe), so this was an important point to me. Whether it was coming from immediately outside the pub or (as I suspect) they were turning a blind eye to some smoking in their VIP room or other indoor locations, I had the smell of smoke in my room most of the night. It wasn't enough to be at the serious health scare stage for me, but it was enough that it made the night's sleep totally unpleasant and not restful at all. And when I called about it, I was told that there was nothing they could do.
Bottom line: The smoke issue was really the key factor for my rating here. It made my stay utterly miserable. In terms of the noise, that just comes down to poor communication and a misleading description on their listing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): We realise that this is a budget option and it is - Please fix the shower door and replace the shower rose in room 9.
Do not stay here on a Friday night if you do not like topless waitresses.
- HELEN (10/5): - Receptionist was helpful and helped us with our bags.
- YCB (10/5): Good Hotel and close to the airport. - We will be staying there again, especially when family and friends fly into Sydney. (as we live down the south coast) Room was clean, bed comfortable, food was fantastic. Right in the middle of shopping centre and parking was easy. Perfectly placed for zipping out of Sydney.
- jenny (8/5): Close to the area I was doing a course for work. - Had every thing I needed close to shopping good selection of food close by.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Topless bar check in... - No front desk. You actually wake into a bar. But not just any bar. A topless bar. There were girls serving wearing only panties and a smile. So be careful when you book this hotel. And know what you will be walking into.
How ever they checked us in quickly and were friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Easy drive to the airport - Place was selected due to its lower price for a room near the airport. The listing I read said that there was free parking. Yes, parking is free only if you can find a spot on the street. When I arrived I couldn't find how to check-in which after phoning I was told that you need to go to the bar where you check in. The room was small.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Location - Great meal provided by the bistro. Fire alarm in the middle of,the night, pleased to see that it works.
- Dana L. (6/5): A little rowdy, but close to the airport. - The rooms are above a neighborhood public house, so the outside noise was a bit loud.
Parking is on the Chegwyn street behind it.
Quick drive to airport, taking account of rush hour traffic and construction.
- Stephen (4/5): Good but tiring - Hotel good and comfortable but had a broken nights sleep due to the noise of late night partiers, the bins being emptied, and the cleaners making annoying early morning noise.
- Ilana (8/5): Good for one night - It was fine for one night. It wasn't the most beautiful, but it was near the airport and that is really all we needed it for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pub with a few rooms. - I didn't realize it was a pub with just a few rooms, but the staff made it work fine. They were very helpful to store bags and to call a taxi. Close to airport so fine for overnight to get to airport easily.
- Can Traveller (8/5): Economic hotel near airport and public transit. - Mid February we stayed 4 nights. We wanted a hotel near airport as we rented a car at the airport and were unfamiliar with the city. At the end of our 4 day stay we returned the car at the airport to fly to Alice Springs. Parking is difficult in Sydney and we decided it was impractical to drive the car downtown. Buses 309 and 310 running every 10 or 15 minutes go to Green Square Station where you transfer to the train to Circular Quay (downtown). There is easy access to the M4 motorway to the Blue Mountains.
We also stayed at this hotel 1 night at the beginning of March and again mid March. Both dates we either were arriving or leaving by airplane or had cruise boat transfers from or to the airport, We took taxi's from and to the airport. Taxi's add about $10 to the fare when leaving the airport. Morning rush hours can result in longer than normal trips to the airport also scheduled taxi pickups may not occur.
Access to rooms is best at the rear of the Hotel. The front access is through a very noisy and usually crowded pub. Took exception to coming face to face with topless barmaid? when checking in to hotel.
- Debbie (8/5): Convienent ..Clean ....Friendly - Only one night ...as we were between connecting flights.
Staff were absolutely GREAT....and helpful as we arrived late. Conv
- Mike (6/5): Close to the airport - This is a Pub , by that I mean there is likely to be noise from the bar area which continues until late closing . Fortunately the air con unit plus the tv was able to cover the noise from downstairs .
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quaint accommodations above a local hangout - The room was comfortable, but the smoke and noise from the bar and street made it difficult to sleep.
- katie (10/5): great hotel close to airport - we spent a night here before catching a red eye flight to Perth and to be honest really weren't expecting too much but we were very pleasantly suprised. Is very much the traditional aussie pub with accommodation upstairs but the room we stayed in had recently been refurbished and had all the amenities you expect in a motel room plus it was very clean. It was in a quiet location and the staff were very helpful plus it was only a 10 min drive in heavy traffic early the next morning to sydney airport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - hotel is pretty good. nice hotel staff and great environment.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great pre Flight Location - Enjoyed our stay. The food at this hotel is amazing and reasonably priced. Can be a bit noisy at night depending on clientel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Possibly not a family venue as they have a topless waitress of an evening. Not sure why that's necessary but their choice I guess.
- Bruce (8/5): Convenient to Sydney airport. - The rooms were above a very active bar, but the noise either stopped at bedtime or for some other reason I didn't have any issues disturbing my sleep. Being just ten minutes from Sydney airport was the best part.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to airport. - Wanted the ease of being close to the airport due to an early flight. Room suited our needs and the pub meal we had for dinner was really good.
- Trish (10/5): Would recommend the hotel - Friendly, helpful. Felt very safe & comfortable staying there.
Room was very clean
- margaret (8/5): captain cook hotel - room and other facilities were spot. being xmas day the hotel was closed so did not get to enjoy bar facilities and meals.
I spoke to Dave and thought we may cancel because of the two flights of stairs and my 73yr old partner recovering from a broken ankle but we managed.
I also left my phone charger behind and just hoping the hotel has my address and can post it back
- Verified traveler (2/5): Loud place - Room was adjacent and facing the bar which was loud till closing.
Internet wifi did not work in room.
Only3 channels on the TV.
- Christie (6/5): - The hotel is very convenient for early morning flights and the staff were very efficient. I was put in Room 12 on the ground floor to the side of the beer garden. Being a single female I didn't feel safe in this room, as the entrance faces the beer garden and drinkers could watch me go in and out of my room and look straight in while the door was open. Maybe great for someone wanting to stay in the beer garden all night drinking and then stagger a few steps to their room but I don't think for most women travelling alone. The room was also very claustrophobic with 1 small window. The one good thing about the room is that housekeeping do a great job and the room was very clean.
- Lesley (6/5): Disappointment - Sorry to say we were disappointed with our stay at Captain Cook Hotel.
Having just returned from an extended overseas trip, we chose CC because it was close to the airport.
Having to walk through the main bar with our suitcases was not the best intro to check in...
After a long flight we looked forward to a restful afternoon before dinner but the noise and bad language from patrons in the outdoor bar area made this a mission.
Only redeeming factor was the nearby Italian restaurant.
- sharon (8/5): - Was nice quiet room with all the basic needs. My only complaint was that i wasnt told how to get back in after hours..
- Dawn (8/5): Good Pub Accomodation - Room was small, but very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Ensuite bathroom also clean and modern.
The bistro had good food at very reasonable prices, that could be taken back to the room.
The only negative was having to walk through the front bar to check in.
- Omar (6/5): A basic over the bar room. - A basic over the bar room. Only negatives were smallish room size, no microwave in room given despite description in booking, cigarette smoke drifting up from bar area, no reception desk services in early morning, no full time parking on street according to signs posted. Otherwise what you would expect from a typical small town motel.
- MENGYAO (6/5): very noise at night.cars, trucks cant sleep.but ro - general
- lesley (6/5): - The room was comfortable but it would of been good to know that you have to walk through a public bar to register and they had topless waitress and all male clientel
- High mountain (4/5): Off and On hotel - The hotel is close to the airport. Taxi from the domestic terminal is $12 (daytime Saturday) and to the international terminal is $23.5 (early morning, Sunday). A few rooms of the hotel is located above a bar through a controlled access door, others can be accessed through a stairway from outside. Noisy until about 10pm when people left the bar. Room is clean but the door lock is not working well (Room #4). No hand towel and wash towel were provided, only bath towels. No hair dryer. Overall is OK as we only stayed for one night.
- Robert (8/5): Captain Cook Hotel...Discovered!!! - Only stayed for 1 night and this place as just right much cheaper than the ibis Budget even when the taxi fare was added and the choices for dinner we ample and easier on the pocket than the airport would have been.
- Robert (6/5): Cheap hotel close to the airport - It's a pub/bar with rooms at the back. The room was perfectly acceptable, clean and surprisingly quiet. Service was friendly; no problems with check-in/check-out. Not stylish but fine for what it is.
- Gregory (8/5): Clean and modern accommodation in Botany - This is a block of apartments located above a pub (we found out that pubs are often named "hotels" in Australia) 2 miles from the domestic airport. The room was clean and modern and exactly what we needed after a long flight. The hotel is not that easy to get to (you can either walk & take a bus or take a taxi which will cost about $20)
