Large old fashioned (in a nice classic way!) room. Parking easy on site. Comfy bed. Great Aircon and ceiling fan. One of the loveliest we’ve stayed in. This is down to me not reading the blurb I’m sure, but, there were no bowls (for breakfast etc), there is just facility to make drinks. No hairdryer.

- Sinuon (5/5): It was decent, but the issues mentioned prevented it from being great for value. - Close to the city center. Friendly staff. A lot of sounds during night. Pipes banging. Loud talking from outside. Small pool looked dirty, didn't want to swim. Blankets smelled dusty. Small ants in many places and roach in toilet. Bed creaks a lot and door hinges noisy. Please oil them. Pans and pots are very old and bent. Sink is small, no space to put toiletries. Consider providing small shampoo and conditioner. Also try providing some skin moisturizer. No blow dryer as well. Wi-Fi not strong. Consider installing more wifi points (lower priority).

- Saskia (8/5): Gedateerd maar prima prijs/kwaliteit - Lokatie was top en de host ontzettend vriendelijk. Alles was keurig schoon. Prijs kwaliteit was top, maar het is wel erg oud allemaal. Het bleek ook een motel te zijn waarbjj er vooral veel mensen kwamen die alleen de nacht doorbrengen (en heel vroeg weer vetrokken). Ook leek het alsof er mensen wonen.

I was hoping to use the laundry facilities, but the staff said that it was already booked and in use, and I wasn't able to use it at any time during my stay. - Karen (9/5): Enjoyable stay in Townsville - The manager, ( Louis from Argentina), was incredibly helpful and we couldn't praise him enough for the service he provided; he was eager to please and made our stay very pleasant. The old building was charming and in an excellent location next to the Strand. Our room was quiet and beds very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. - Kylie (9/5): Very comfortable and well priced stay - We needed just one night’s accommodation and arrived on the last flight in. We booked the Yongala fairly last minute and had low expectations. We were surprised! The motel style room was spotlessly clean, specious and had everything we needed. Bed was comfy and the premises was quiet and very comfortable. Spoke with Lucas on reception who sent through clear instructions of how to access the key after hours and it was a very straightforward process. Right opposite the Strand but tucked back a little is a perfect location and we’d definitely book here again! We weren’t able to park on the premises as parking spots were all taken but there’s plenty of parking along the street after hours so not that big of a deal.

Gemakkelijk (te voet) bereikbaar vanaf de bus- en ferry stop. We kwamen buiten openingsuren van de receptie aan, maar de self check-in was duidelijk en makkelijk. Bij het inleveren van de sleutel de volgende ochtend maakten we kennis met de enthousiaste en vrolijke eigenaar. In de korte tijd dat we hier verbleven hebben wij geen tegenvallers gezien of ervaren.

We had our little doggo and he loved her. The historic building is nice, I'm glad they've kept it in good condition. Checking in at the reception is a sight to see, very nice classic features. They had tradesmen working on things the next day, good to see they're maintaining everything! Nothing really to complain about. There are a lot of flats around the property, but the accommodation faces around the pool so you don't see or they see in.
