Guest Reviews
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and great value for money Nothing
- Chauhan (8/5): All meet with expectations -
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional - We have been coming to Cedar lake for decades when my in-laws had Timeshare. It’s nostalgic with gorgeous bushland surroundings. Our families have so many memories here. Nothing, It’s barely changed over the decades, keep it that way. We love to unwind in the bushland with the animals & peace and quiet. If you’re after a 5star hotel.Go to Broadbeach. This is a country resort.
- Marcelo (9/5): Amazing wildlife close to the Gold Coast - The units are tidy and comfortable, but the real star is the place itsef. The golf course with the wild Kangaroos hanging out on there, Kookaboorras, Kokatoos, the lake with the turtles and lots more. Amazing to take a walk any time of the day and enjoy the wildlife. You MUST have a car to rent here Nothing to complain
- Kathleen (10/5): Nature at Your Doorstep - Comfortable, clean, secure. Units open onto a vista of pure tranquility.... the lake, wildlife up close and space. Despite our stay being during the first week of the year, at the height of the Summer Holidays, it didn't feel crowded. We will definitely be staying again.
- Levi (10/5): - Just a Beautiful spot with wildlife all around
- Carissa (10/5): Great stay - The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable.Everything worked and the rooms had everything you could possibly need.Pool and activities were great. The free washing was so great The wasps and wasp nests
- Denise (10/5): I would have to say Cedar Lakes was the best place I have ever stayed at. Serene and beautiful. - The location was amazing if you love the country life, and only 10 mins away from shops. If I had to say anything negative about the place it would be that it was a shame there was no restaurant/bar. They have the facilities for it but all closed up, but there is a pub just down the road with a restaurant & 3 bars & their shuttle bus picked us up and dropped us off afterwards so all in all the best holiday!
- Judy (9/5): Superb -
- Celeste (10/5): - Beautiful place for the family to stay. Loved all the amenities, lots to do and beautiful location.
- Jean-francois (8/5): Very good - Great location. Beautiful surrounding.
- Christian (10/5): - This was a nice little get away very relaxing very quiet and peaceful we will be coming back to stay again.
- Anonymous (8/5): okay overall - staff were friendly, room was nice. lovely to see and feed the wildlife, it was peaceful and relaxing. fold out bed under couch was uncomfortable, springs was broken. had to buy a blow up bed to sleep on instead..
- Jeannette (10/5): - Large and very clean rooms. Plenty of fun activities within the property and good central location to tourist hot spots as long as you have a car. Quiet location with plenty of wildlife. Shading over main bedroom and living area would help reduce morning heat entering the rooms as no air con in bedroom. Staff were lovely
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Thea (9/5): Worth a visit - Location and activities available for free. Really comfy bed and large space Older outside but new inside
- Leisha (10/5): - Great facilities and plenty of activities for kids to do. Amazing pool.
- Maria (10/5): A delightful stay in a lovely resort teeming with birds and wildlife. - Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. The grounds were well kept and the local wildlife an absolute delight. Pool and BBQ facilities were enjoyed as well. The unit itself was well presented and had everything we needed. nothing
- Amanda (9/5): Absolutely perfect and the kids love it - Relaxing and peaceful, wildlife, scenery and activities for kids The weather!! Unfortunately that's something no one can control, however the thunderstorms over the hills was spectacular
- Christopher (5/5): Passable -
- Tiana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, from swimming pool to feeding turtles and ducks. To a comfortable room. N/A

- Monique (10/5): Beautiful surrounds and great value for money. - everything. loved the whole resort. ll facilities were great. very quiet and serene.
- Shane (5/5): Our expectation of a lovely stay with peace and quiet was destroyed by the sounds of very close construction work every - The property was very picturesque with lots to do if you wished. Due to our flight being delayed, we had to have a late checkin. The locked box with our keys and info in it jammed and could not be opened.
Calls were made to night staff who had to come and supply us with a room key, that took 15 minutes. On getting to our unit they had not
given us the AirCon key for the heating, so it was back to reception again. No apology for not doing so.
The next morning we had to formally checkin, but once again no apology for the inconvenience of the events the previous night.
We were put in a block of units where there was major maintenance being done on the laundry, another nearby unit and the BBQ area that
was in front of our unit. We understand that maintenance has to be done, but it would have been more professional and courteous
to be informed prior so we could have made the decision to book elsewhere, and not in a construction zone.
So as it was, from 8:00am to 4:00pm each day we were graced with the lovely sounds of power saws, tile grinders, hammering and banging.
To sit out the front of our unit meant a shower of tile dust when the wind was blowing our way.
There were many blocks of units we could have been put in away from the noise, but obviously that’s not their concern.
So overall, the accommodation was comfortable, the grounds lovely, the staff not so and because of the excessive construction noise and
disruption to the peace and quiet, we did not enjoy our stay here and will not return.
- lorraine (8/5): - Lovely setting. The sulphur crested cockatoos outside our room feasting on fruit tree were very noisy
- Philip van't (10/5): - It was quiet and everything worked well. It was a fun relaxing holiday for the whole family.
It was disappointing that the onsite bistro was closed and the information booklet was very out of date.
- Alison (10/5): - I loved the pool and spa it was very clean, spacious and lots of surrounding activitys
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well appointed apartment. Spacious grounds kept the kids happy.
We spent five nights there and would of been happy to stay longer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Heaps for the kids to do. Only 20mins drive to most places. Would go back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our first time here. The scenery is beautiful and amenities and activities were great. Kids loved the pool!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet and safe. Great spot for families to enjoy the outdoors.
- Jill (8/5): - Quiet tranqui setting, cute restaurant, great recreational
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Disability access
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I come here every year, that probably tells you i love the resort very much. Enjoy all amenities and how relaxing the atmosphere is. Alot to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place for a relaxing holiday on the Gold Coast. Very scenic with a fabulous pool and lots of activities to do - paddle boats, mini golf, par 3 golf, tennis courts, large games room. Not too far from Nerang shops and about 30 mins to Surfers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent , best place to chill.
It gets you to explore mountains , forest plus beaches
- Rose (4/5): - We liked the Tennis and basketball courts.
We didn’t like that nobody was interested in running the place. Staff not very helpful
- Lynette (10/5): - This property has a small lake and park area with turtles and birds and kangaroos. We had fun walking about the lake and feeding the turtles.
The room was a good size for 5 people and the staff were very friendly
- L (8/5): - Great for families and lots to do with kids.......
- Magnetfallan (10/5): - It was peaceful and spacious surroundings, a great place to relax and also an ideal place for families to stay.
My daughter and I enjoyed feeding the cockatoos, ducks and other birds from the lounge room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quoet well set out one of the better time share facilities we have been to.
- Anita (4/5): - Stayed three nights. First shower boiling hot. No cold coming out of the cold tape. I had to wash with a large saucepan filled with warm water. Next day it was fixed. Last day NO WATER IN SHOWER AT ALL. I tried to wash in the small vanity in the bathroom but at 60 years old it wasn't easy and I couldn't wash my hair. I left there very upset. Only compensation offered was the use of the showers down by the pool that was a hike from my room and unacceptable when you pay that sort of money. I was very disappointed.
- Roslyn (10/5): Perfect for families. - This is a nice place to stay. The 2 bedroom apartments aren't 'flash' but were comfortable and have everything you need. There was a well equipped kitchen with oven, stove, full sized fridge and additional electric frying pan and grill. The best part of this place are the extra activities - paddle boats, kayaks, mini golf, table tennis, spas, pool, sauna and tennis courts. These are all provided as part of the rate. It is set in extensive grounds with several BBQ sites, a beautiful lake and wildlife. I noticed that families were able to bring their bikes or you can arrange hire. The size of the resort means that you are not bumping into other guests all the time. This is the second time we have stayed here and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
- Christy (10/5): - Some great outdoor activities for all ages. Pool, spa, tennis, paddle boats, canoes, bike track or walk to the hinze dam
Games room table tennis, pool tables, video games
Shopping centres in town 10mins
local Nerang RSL was fantastic for dinner meals delicious and reasonably priced
Your 20-30mins from beaches and surfers paradise
- chris (10/5): Family friendly and relaxing in rural setting - Lovely spot away from busy gold coast centre but close enough for a short drive in on m1. Very family friendly, safe and relaxing with plenty of things to do.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great! - Did and relaxed! Tennis, golf, paddleboat, sauna, pool.
- Rob (10/5): Great stay, quiet relaxed feel up in the hills. - Thank you we had a great time. Loved the relaxed feel set in a beautiful Gold Coast hinterland.
- Kulaswan (8/5): Nice place. Very serene. - Had a wonderful time. Staffs are accomodating. Sunday ribs and wings night at the bistro was perfect
- John (8/5): Very tranquil, would have liked to stay longer - Nice spot on the lake to be awoken by the friendly ducks and goose. Facilities are a bit dated but it was all presented in clean and tidy condition. Rooms well appointed with all the essentials. Also warm and cosy. Great spot to stay for a wedding up the road. Not sure about the time share paraphernalia, and lack of free wifi. Otherwise great
- Alison (6/5): Country resort in Gold Coast hinterland - Check in from 4-5pm only was silly, everywhere else starts check in at 2pm. Bistro decor dated, needs facelift. Bistro conserving energy by only using 1/3 of the lights so couldn't see what we were eating. Pool/spa area excellent. Grounds very pretty with resident animals and playground. Goose a bit noisy during the night. Nothing for young children to do after dark. Games room suitable for older children. Nearest shops 10 minute drive away. Shai in the bistro was very helpful and good at her job. Bedrooms not dark enough, lots of light coming in.
- Simmo (10/5): - Our first trip to the hinterland and we found the resort very well located. We didn't manage to get a meal in the bistro as it was closed on Monday & Tuesday (the nights we were staying) which was unfortunate. Our room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. BBQ facilities were top notch and apartment's had all necessary implements for cooking and cleaning. Very happy to recommend and will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A very good holiday - Great holiday destination for the family. Service was good and so were the facilities for the kids. Resort is on the older side but we could see renovations happening. Will definitely consider this place again.
- Rangiawha (10/5): Beatiful ,peaceful secluded, - For 1 we will return for a much longer stay and loved, what the lodge had to offer including the free interaction and viewing with wildlife as we'll as its amenities it has to offer
5stars for me and my family
And being an original country bushland kiwi who moved to the fast lane and hustle n bustle of Melbourne metro ,best rest I've had all year so far
Thanks
- tamara (8/5): - It was good but you need a car to travel around
- Charles (10/5): Great for the family. Relaxing and Enjoyable :) - The place was awesome. I like how there are a variety of things to do on the resort for the family. Wished we stayed there longer to experience the resort better. We really enjoyed our stay.
- Lydia (10/5): Absolutely perfect for families clean and comforta - Loved this place fantastic for families very clean comfortable would highly recommend we will be booking again next year.
- Brendan (6/5): Simple Family Getaway 30mins to Surfers - A simple family getaway which was cost effective and close (30mins) to Surfers Paradise.
Receptions is only open during office hours, that can be difficult to work around.
Evening "entertainment" is very limited, noting that not much happens at the resort itself but this is manageable if you enjoy staying in the room, on the 'balcony' (which does have a great view) or heading off into one of the nearby town centres in the evening like Nerang, Robina or Gold Coast areas.
All in all, a very basic setup but a true getaway if this is what you want.
- Alan (8/5): Nice resort and location. - Place was nice but a bit dated. Great location for Gold Coast attractions whilst being quiet enough to get away from the throng of the crowds.
- Mackey Family (10/5): Quiet surroundings - This motel has everything you need to have a relaxing holiday. The wildlife situated on the property is interesting. There is a pool, 2 spas and a sauna available to use as well as kayaks, paddle boats and a mini golf course. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms have everything you need.
- Rob (8/5): Relaxed and Unrushed - Spent 4 nights over the Christmas weekend after deciding to get away from the usual rush. Units were clean and reasonably appointed despite being older. Restaurant had a very complete menu to cater for all tastes including special dietary requirements (e.g. gluten free). Wine list reasonable and very well priced. Facilities were better than you would expect at the price......paddle boats, kayaks, great heated pool and spas, BBQ areas etc......loved feeding the turtles.
No extra charges for these facilities. Kids enjoyed the games room as well as minigolf and a 9 hole pitch and putt course.
We had a good break and will return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice - Great family location. Lots of activities to do with the kids. Could stay there a week and be kept busy. Rooms are a little tired but nice enough
- Roslyn (8/5): Fun for the kids - We really enjoyed our time here as the activities were great for the kids. We were down for a sporting event so weren't able to do everything we wanted so will come back again for a holiday.
- Ben Dover (6/5): Basic Accommodation, Exceptional Surroundings - This was my fourth stay at Cedar Lakes Country Resort. The rooms themselves are a bit rough and could do with an upgrade. Nonetheless you come here for the surroundings - the lake, the birds and ducks and let's not forget the turtles. The ducks and Ibis visit your back patio for a visit on a daily basis. There's a great little golf course and the pool/ spa area is very well maintained and relaxing. This is a nice little place to kick back and relax with the family or just a loved one.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very impressed - Would certainly stay there again. The ducks and geese were a nuisance.
- kelly (6/5): To far out - Was a nice place but to far away from anything. Didn't see any staff apart from when we checked out
- Raj (6/5): Just for budget stay and a good kitchen to coyours - Average. . Vegetarian food zero
- Jo (10/5): Fabulous surroundings - fabulous surrounding, clean and tidy, quiet and relaxed environment with lots of things to do and see
- Jason (10/5): "A bushland retreat" - Warm and friendly hosts, very comfy and welcoming. Lovely bushland setting, tucked away from the world but only a short drive to the Gold Coast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Just what we wanted. - Great location, we would have loved to have stayed longer. Great facilities.
- Kathy (10/5): Customer Service Exceeds Expectations - My family decided to join friends and their young children for a couple of days at this resort. Cedar lakes is ideal for young children with lots for them to do, and arranged activities by the resort to alleviate stressed parents trying to think of things to do. We all enjoyed it very much Thank you. The food at the bistro was also very delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location for access to the Gold Coast - This is the perfect location out of the rat race at night but close enough for day trips to Theme Parks and
the Gold Coast. Facilities are fantastic. The unit had the best kitchen facilities I have ever seen, Sandwich maker,
plenty of saucepans, plates, glasses and cutlery, microwave, dishwasher and a full size fridge. The sofa bed was even comfortable. We will be returning. Thanks for a great stay.
- Grandma (10/5): Country retreat - Appreciated the spaciousness of the apartment. The luggage trolley outside a nice touch when car is parked not just outside the door. There are various facilities at the resort which we did not use - pool, spa etc but would be appreciated by many. Well equipped kitchen. Some worthwhile birding in the adjacent bush.
- Cheryl (10/5): Quiet and relaxing - Been here many times we love it.Quiet, relaxing and tucked away in the hinterland.
- Steve (10/5): Awesome family-friendly destination - We were looking for an affordable family-friendly destination to get away and relax and found more than we bargained for. We had plenty of time to lay about watching Foxtel, but there were more activities than we had time to do within our 3 night stay. Mini golf, putt-putt, paddle-boats, massive pool and games room. Plenty of things to do, but more importantly, plenty of things to occupy the kids. We will be going back, but for a week next time.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable - Live cockroaches were found in the apartment. Cleanliness could have been a bit better compared with other places we have stayed in
- Verified traveler (10/5): A very nice resort to find peace and quiet - Our first trip to QLD was awsome staying at Cedar Lakes. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing enjoying the wildlife and just being layed back!
- Wim (10/5): Good location, not to far from Surfers Paradise. - In our opinion a very good resort style place to stay with a family. We could not fault it, grounds well maintained, rooms were clean and comfortable. It is NOT A MOTEL, but there are washing machines to get your towels etc. clean. after reading some of the reviews, we asked our-self what the problems were, yes it is an older resort, but so are we and we are fighting fit. Again, perfect for families with children and perfect for people who like the country setting. We recommend it and when the times come will go back. It takes approx. 20 min to Surfers Paradise and the theme parks are very easy to get to, we booked our tickets for the parks at the resort, no problem and competitive. Not far from Nerang with all sorts of shops. WE RECOMMEND THE CEDAR LAKE COUNTRY RESORT.
- Melissa (10/5): - Had the best time. Loved the extra resort activities and especially the wildlife. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and it was good to be out of the hustle and bustle for a while!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful setup - Nice place for a family. Plenty of stuff to do for the kids. wish we had more time at the place
- amy (10/5): Lovely place you don't have to leave to have fun - Relaxed family feel, lovely room, so much to do on site, beautiful surrounds, quiet and close enough to major shops and natural sights to explore and see, definitely going back!
- Mr. T. (10/5): Relaxo Rancho - We stay here to get away from the hustle and bustle of full days at the theme parks and to relax after sometimes stressful days. Perfectly located to get to the parks easily as well. Heaps for the kids and adults to do out there. This time we stayed an extra day and went to look at Hinze dam and Natural Bridge but still didn't get a chance to enjoy all the activities at the resort. Kids loved the ducks and turtles and being able to watch and feed them at the bridge.
- Marion (8/5): New Experience - New experience for us. Luxury. but couldn't afford to go again, even though it was worth the money. Would like to have been able to stay longer, to sample all the facilities
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nicer outside than in... - The rooms and facilities were quite dated. And the restaurant was pretty standard. However the outdoor grounds were immaculate, loads of wild-life, pool and spa was luxurious. Close drive to lots of local attractions including the Natural Bridge walk and the Gold Coast.
- Peter (10/5): Great affordable family accomodation. - Was quite pleased with the facilities at this resort. Although not ultra modern the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
Between the pool (open till 10pm) and the paddle boats, and games room there was plenty to keep the kids entertained and happy. Although a little further away from the Gold Coast where I would normaly stay, it was still only 22 mins from most of the theme parks. Would happily stay again.
- Kerry (10/5): Awesome, Relaxing Family Long Weekend. - We had the greatest time at Cedar Lake Country Resort. From the time I walked into the reception area till I walked out 4 days later. The apartment was big, bright & airy. The children loved having a share room & we had a lovely Queen size bed. The apartment was super clean & well equipped. The facilities provided were fun & entertaining. The kids loved the heated pool. Was a bit of a drive back to Nerang for supplies but we loved the isolated feel. The staff were super helpful. Nothing was a problem. The chef at the restaurant was extremely helpful with a meal for my son & I, who are coeliac. We will be back later this year or early next year, for a longer stay. The kids didn't want to leave!
- Rel (10/5): Perfect for Families! - Loved staying at Cedar Lake Resort. The Rooms were clean, the maintenance of this venue was very the best I have seen so far, facilities were just amazing for the family. The games room, pool, spa and tennis court. The view in the mornings were relaxing...overlooking the lake. The restaurant on site was great! Very quiet location and a great getaway. Would definitely stay there again with my family.
- Busy Mum (8/5): Was a quiet time away . - Was a lovely setting to kick back and relax and didn't really have to go far for anything or at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A place to get away from it all - Approximately my 10th stay at Cedar Lake over at least 20 years. I plan to go again.
- Mathy (10/5): Great Kid's Holiday - It was a great holiday for our family.
Kids enjoyed bicycle, heated swimming pool, sauna, tennis, golf, putter golf, turtle feeding, ping pong and snooker which were all free of charge.
The foods we had at Bistro were also nice and quite reasonable prices.
It is incredibly reasonable and we will come back for sure.
- Jane (10/5): Lots to do... - Very nice clean rooms...lots of things to do and see at resort and just a short drive to beach..only stayed for weekend will stay again and longer.. Nice staff and affordable rates..
- nanna (10/5): great resort - great stay with 3 generations all having a great time together playing tennis, canoeing, swimming
- karen (10/5): Great for families. - I stayed at cedar lake for 2 nights with my family. We had such a relaxing couple of days, swimming, playing golf (not the best course but great for a hit and a laugh) feeding the ducks, enjoying the paddle boats and having a game of tennis. You can do as much or as little as you like. The restaurant is pleasant staff are nice and meals are cheap but I would suggest taking bbq food as there are picnic areas with bbqs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great clean and friendly - Thanks guys a great place to take the family.
Friendly staff great facilities and one of the cleanest appartments we have ever stayed in.
- Impressed (10/5): Family Getaway - It was exceptional. We loved the views, the peacefulness, it was just a beautiful sanctuary. It will definitley be a place for my family and I to visit again. Certainly recommend it to everyone.
