Jocelyn (9/5): The Strand is our "go to" accommodation choice when we stay in New Plymouth. - My husband and I have stayed at The Strand several times and our room is well maintained, exceptionally clean and welcoming. The Strand is only a few minutes drive to visit family so location is perfect for us. There is nothing about The Strand that we don't like.

Pascale (9/5): A 3-night stay in.Autumn - Modern and comfortable environment. On the main drag, Devon St, though quiet, especially units tucked away from.the road. Electric blankets. A 2-element stove + pots and pan are very useful, in addition to the regular microwave. Curtains and good-quality blinds provide darkness. Tainted windows provide privacy from the driveway. A narrow long mirror by the wardrobe would be handy. And a couple of art works on walls would be nice too. One electric blanket didn't work (Unit 8).

Natasha (7/5): Great spot, modern and comfortable motel. - It was modern, well laid out and spacious. Great kitchenette and bathroom. Beds were lovely and comfortable. Plenty of room to dine, and a super little courtyard to read in the sun. The location was brilliant, just a short walk to the sea. There was no staff to greet you or say farewell. Reception was a small room with a cabinet and you had to call a number and leave a message and hope someone picked it up quickly - which they did. Apart from changing the bins there was no servicing of the room. We stayed four nights and eating breakfast lunch and dinner meant there were crumbs etc on the carpet that got worse over time. A quick one minute vacuum would have been really appreciated. A drying rack to hang out our wetsuits and beach towels in the courtyard would also have been super. The fridge was also very noisy at night. It wouldn't stop us staying again, but we think some little changes could take this place from good to excellent.

Simple, no fuss. Everything felt clean, as it was very new. Unfortunately, the bed and pillows were too soft for my liking, and the shower temperature was not consistent.

Vanity, shower and toilet very well streamlined to the space along with the choice of tiling and laminate . Shower pressure is great and the non slip tiling is a positive. Even the car park spaces are very well appointed for easy in, easy out . Full credit to the owners. Nothing. Everything was great.
