Being conveniently located on the main road means that trucks are passing by during the night. Not the hotels fault at all, but light sleepers may appreciate ear plugs.

- David (6/5): Loved the vintage motor bikes and bits around the place as I collect old bikes etc was nice to see - The big rain shower head was great , location was good and the koala in the tree out the back was cool wish I could find some that big to eat all the greens n More water and milk in the little kitchen we couldn’t find any milk the first night
- Patricia (10/5): Unique and charming stay in a lot of history with a yummy cafe attached - The interior is very unique-packed with motorcycle gems and heaps of antique accessories. We felt very welcome. The charming old style building needs actually more time like a one night sleep over to explore. Garden access and cafe with yummy breakfast is attached.

- Addison-Armstrong (10/5): A night to remember - I loved that Toni went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We were on our way to camp at the Tamworth Music Festival. When we arrived at Walcha a huge thunderstorm also arrived. We booked in with Toni and she could not have been more hospitable. As it was still raining so hard and we could not go out yet, Toni shared her pizza with us. Toni also gave us the number to get a Taxi to the Commercial Hotel for dinner and a umbrella so we wouldn't get wet. Nothing.......... Perhaps the thunderstorm but I do love a good thunderstorm with a passion!

A warm personal welcome when we arrived, showed us around the property and made sure we were comfortable and had all the local knowledge for our stay. She recommended a great place to get dinner and provided a fantastic breakfast before we departed. The warm open fire and red wine really made it welcoming. Highly recommend a stay at the Royal! Nothing. It was perfect.

Shared facilities but we had the ‘deluxe double’ and had that wing all to ourselves when we stayed. Great old style room, and a good Chinese pub meal across the road, with a terrific breakfast at the Royal. Really enjoyed the stay.

The staff were friendly on arrival & got us into our rooms quickly. Toni sorted out my incorrect booking prior to the weekend. And was friendly & helpful on arrival. Happy we had a shed to park our m/bikes for the night.

The mattress was on angle so felt like was goto roll off all night. Sheets and blankets not duvet so fighting with sheets and blankets also.
