- geregory (10/5): we enjoy it seeing the pengins and just looking round - the room was big and the shower was good and beening in the middle of town the floor boads ever time we moved they squeeked and some of the blinds were missing so it let in moring light
- Ben (8/5): -
- Mike (8/5): Large clean rooms, staff very helpful -
- Andyjo (10/5): - Very clean and bright space
- Euan (8/5): - Quick overnight stay. Old hotel with newly renovated rooms. No issues.
- Courtney (7/5): - It was modern, clean and cozy. The bed and the pillows were rock hard. You also have to remind yourself that it is over a pub so you do hear the stuff packing up and delivers.
- KONSTADIN (10/5): Loved the location and character of the accommodation, it was fresh and comfortable for my needs, definitely go back aga - Clean , fresh, location and character Can’t think of anything that I disliked
- Belinda (10/5): -
- Jodi (10/5): Great price, super comfy and clean! - Location, clean and comfortable Maybe a couple loud cars during the night but no big deal
- Lyn (10/5): - Perfect in every way
- John (10/5): Just what we wanted - The location suited us Every thing was excellent
- Skilton (9/5): I had a wonderful stay in a clean and comfortable room. - Parking and accessibility were great. Close to shops and supermarkets. Not far from Wynyard or Burnie. The room was clean and comfortable. My smoke alarm went off unexpectedly. It only lasted a few minutes and then stopped. I had had my windows open so I don’t know if that caused it to go off.
- hoppy_traveller (10/5): Best motel in the Burnie area - Always clean and tidy at least the water stays hot if someone else in another room is showering at the same time as you....always have a very pleasant stay here Due to bad knees i don't like the stairs, but i now make sure i go to the rear stairs take everything up in one trip so only have to use them twice
- Kaye (10/5): Very comfy and quiet - Perfect facilities Was a little hard with stairs (no lift)
- Perry (10/5): - The staff were amazing felt very welcome
- Aart (9/5): Good value nights accommodation. - Quite modern, clean facilities. Value for money. Nothing
- Joan (8/5): - You provide a microwave but no plates or cutlery to eat with. Off street parking was not close to the main entrance staircase - not easy if you have to manage several bags (or children).
- Reg (8/5): -
- Anna (7/5): -
- Tony (8/5): - It was good value for money and suited our needs fine Carrying bags up the stairs but we knew we had to do it .The cheap price made up for it
- Terry (10/5): Brilliant place to stay. - I liked everthing about the somerset. It was clean quiet and the price was the best i encountered in all of tasmania given the quality of the room and facilities. Cant fault it. Only wish they had a bistro
- Pamela (9/5): A very enjoyable stay. - The room was very clean and recently updated. It was in a great location with plenty of parking. Would definitely stay there again. I didn't realise when booking that the rooms were above the pub. This wasn't a problem as it was still fairly quiet apart from the Friday night when they had live music. This finished quite early so not really a big problem.
- Douglas (9/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great location, friendly helpful staff
- Joy Loves Travel (10/5): - The size of the room, the location and the friendly staff. N/A
- Amber (9/5): -
- Lee-Anne (10/5): - The room was neat and tidy and very clean, and the property was so quiet. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom looked brand new.
The staff were very welcoming. Nothing to not like!
- Judy (8/5): - Price Nothing
- Phillips (8/5): -
- Maretta (10/5): Lovely comfy, quiet and well laid out room with everything we needed - Everything was well laid out, had everything we needed, nice and quiet, refurbished tastefully, very comfy bed, was in a handy location for where we were headed N/A
- Hardman (7/5): Pretty good value for money. - It was clean and presentable. The bed layout was weird as it was sideways to the tv.
- Darren (8/5): -
- Dianne (10/5): Throughly enjoyed our short stay - Very spacious room. e
Excellent bathroom
- Cheryl (10/5): Overall lovely, but dampened by the early - Friendly staff who were willing to help us wherever needed. We dealt with Pat when we were there and found that she went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. She was truly the best On the morning of our last stay we were awoken at 0630hrs by outside contractors cleaning and painting to front of the hotel, directly outside our room. It is unacceptable to commence noisy works that early in the morning. Management should have informed clients if this work giving the option to stay elsewhere or to offer a discount to clients to compensate for the loud disturbance. If this had occurred on our first stay we not have stayed again and u formed friends. We stayed 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and one night before leaving Tasmania
- Susan (9/5): Surprised at decadent styling of room given the age of hotel - Modern upgraded unit in hotel. Fantastic bathroom. Quiet room upstairs. Friendly & helpful staff.
- Emma (7/5): -
- Tiziana (8/5): - Friendly staff, comfortable room, everything was clean. Also surprisingly quite, great value for money.
- Melanie (10/5): - Repeat guest it's always good
- Nicholls (8/5): - This was an excellent value for money stay! The room was super clean and looks like it’s been recently updated with cabinetry, bathroom tiles sink and shower head (large rain type with great water pressure). Appreciated that there were two tea options and a fridge kettle toaster etc. nice fluffy towels and low light lamps. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is off the highway so no traffic noise like other hotels close by would experience. I would definitely stay here again. There wasn’t an ironing board but there was an iron which I appreciated as I needed to iron a T-shirt. The doors are heavy and slam loudly which is unsettling during the middle of the night if you are a light sleeper (I forgot my ear plugs).
- Stephen (6/5): Good overnight stay - Location No meals
- Christine (10/5): Large room clean and well equipped - Clean large rooms
- beverly (9/5): -
- John Zaitseff (7/5): -

- Smart (10/5): - The rooms have new paint new carpet, new furniture big screen TV new air AC it's all new the bathroom is big with large shower head. The rooms are exceptionally clean. To the stuff keep up the good work.
- Janice (10/5): A Pleasant Surprise!!! - Very impressed with this little gem. Was totally surprised how comfortable, clean and hospitable the staff were. It was well appointed and pleasantly surprised on how updated the room and hotel was. Would definitely stay again. Great value!! Nothing we didn't like .. it was just a little confusing having to check in at the bar; but the sign assisted... thank you so much
- Anna Kam Suen (8/5): Very good value for money - Very clean and neat, equipped with all basic essentials including a small fridge and microwave. No place to hang up your jackets
- williams (10/5): -
- ALLAN (3/5): Nice staff. - What breakfast? Room was clean. Nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Awful room layout. No phone or usb outlets. No compendium or writing material. Poor internet, had to phone the hotel from my room to get the code. No onsite food options. Stairs a real problem for someone like myself with limited mobility. Only notified the day before stay that there were no ground floor rooms and no lift.
- Buddhika (8/5): - We had room no 4 and it was a good little room. Looks like it has been refurbished with a good bathroom. The room did not have a wardrobe to hang clothes and a few floor boards under the carpet were squeaky.
Since the booking was through Booking.com, I did not expect to write down my debit card details but I had to write down my card number and the exp date on a form.
Further on the next day I had a painter appear on the out side of the window while we were getting ready. Though window had the vertical blinds, I would expect them to wait until guests leave the room.
- Juskurran (10/5): -
- Paul (7/5): -
- Lecra (8/5): - Comfortable enough for our one night stay, very clean and bed was comfy, quiet at night too. The room was quite big and has a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, crockery etc. and a table and chairs so, fortunately, we could make something to eat in our room, as the whole town seems to be closed by 7pm. Stayed one night, arrived at 6:30pm and was told the pub was closing for stocktaking. Be aware that the whole town seems to close early, including cafes and restaurants. Best to bring some food that can be zapped in the microwave.
- Francis Richard (9/5): - - -
- Margi (10/5): Brilliant , will recommend to family/friends. - The staff were very friendly and helpful, very much to please the customer. The staff member Jess advise us to visit the boards walk at Bernie to see the fairy Penguins, what a wonderful experience.🙏🏻. The comfortable, clean , large room
- Amanda (8/5): -

- Roberto (3/5): Il minimo indispensabile per una notte - La possibilità di prepararsi la colazione Puzza di sigaretta ovunque dal corridoio alla stanza. Letto sporco con capelli.
- Hitoshi (8/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Wendy (8/5): - Beautifully clean and lovely view from our room
Beds were very comfortable
Location was fantastic
Very good value for money
Friendly staff and easy check-in and check-out No lift, you will need to carry luggage up two flights of stairs BUT the staff are more than happy to help, just ask
There are no food options on-site BUT plenty of options within a short walk or drive
There was some traffic noise during the day BUT super quiet at night
- Rob (8/5): Great - Very clean modern hotel, I had a comfortable stay Would have loved them to have a bistro
- Karishma Ram (9/5): - Everything except for the floor...there were sounds whenever anyone walked floor...there were sounds whenever anyone walked
- Lester (7/5): needs meals on site - good location no meals on site
- Nelly (9/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Very good budget-friendly accommodation for overnight or short stays - It was a small-ish room, although the ensuite shower was fantastic. It was clean, relatively quiet, and was well equipped for an overnight stay.
We would certainly be happy to stay there again... It was a bit noisy for a while when the bars downstairs were closing
- Tammy (9/5): -
- Bish (10/5): -
- Kuan-yu (10/5): -
- Surojit (10/5): - Every thing Great place
- Sharon (10/5): - Loved the super comfy bed, newly refurbished room with great shower and water pressure. Nothing, it was great
- Stephanie (10/5): -
- Glenda (10/5): Somerset solo traveller - My newly renovated room was clean, quiet, well fitted with cutlery, crockery appliances etc
The hotel was set back from the main hwy so was in quiet setting,
The staff were helpful, and lovely
Close to airport The only tiny thing was that there was no little shampoo & conditioner., I'm used to that!
- Georgia (8/5): Solid stay in Somerset - Nice spacious clean room, friendly check in staff, quiet location
- tunstall (10/5): - Staff very good and helpful room very small but very clean would have been better if we're 2 chairs for comfort
- Rhonda (8/5): Budget room for a budget price. - Clean small room suitable for one night stay. Supplied with two packs of two plain biscuits in addition to the coffee/tea supplies. Decent sized bathroom. Comfortable bed. Budget room for a budget price. There was a small desk with a single chair, making the room more suited to a single guest rather than a couple. We were supplied with wash up detergent in a sachet so not handy for washing up more than once during our stay.
- Jessica (8/5): Great place for the night - Great room. Appears to have been updates in the last few years as plenty of powerpoints and modern bathroom. Very large tv, comfy bed, good shower. Large smart tv but unable to connect to internet so unable to cast from phone or log into streaming.
- Ian Jones (9/5): - The place
- Robyn (10/5): Great place to stay for a night or two - Much better than I expected from a pub. Newly renovated room and the best bed we have used in 2 weeks travelling in Tasmania Nothing
- Bob (7/5): -
- Irene (8/5): -
- Bannister (8/5): Was clean comfortable would stay again. - Was no food available only bar but got 10% discount at Seabrook for meals by showing room key. Disappointed didn't get much assistance when had to leave a day early no refund. More assistance with enquiries about refund for having to leave early.
- Elaine (7/5): Good location in Burnie, with a comfortable bed and new ensuite bathroom. - Easy to find, near to what we needed, friendly greeting when we arrived, comfy bed and overall quiet. Initially while gaming room downstairs was open, we could smell smoke coming upstairs from the smoker's room. It eventually went away. Easy access to the car park was directly through the poker machine area - felt like we were disturbing people.
