- Linda (9/5): - Only stayed 1 night The beds were comfortable Tent was clean and tidy The staff member who organised our stay was very helpful and polite and told us everything we needed to know as we were arriving after office hours ⁹ We used the kitchen in the morning and were totally disgusted The sinks were full of dirty dishes, pots & pans even though the sign asks for anyone using the facility to leave it clean.
Hearing traffic all night on the bridge made it a bit hard to get a good night's sleep

- MAC (10/5): - Loved the tents Showers were a bit dirty
- Chatzimina (7/5): - The tent was very big, clean and comfy! The staff was very friendly and helpful! It was noisy all night because the highway is next to the camp. The bathrooms and the kitchen could be more clean and the kitchen was not well equipped.
- Gordon (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (2/5): Still smell it. - Right near the abattoir and you can smell it.
- David (8/5): Comfortable affordable everything you require for a short stay. - I was only on site to stop over for work, But rooms were clean, Staff were professional and polite, Shower was hot bed was very comfortable, And Facilities were better than expected. Lack of adequate parking. Two rooms for each trailer but only one vehicle space, Dirt driveway, Quite a distance from town, Not the best area to be located.
- Christine (4/5): Disappointing - There's nothing good to like Caravan Park Accommodation
- Jillian (6/5): Pleasant - Clean basic accommodation with no bells or whistles. Very small rooms but for the price, they were clean and tidy.
- michaelmJ3075HM (2/5): Don’t waste your money. - Dreadful. Waste of money. Do the extra two hour drive north to spend your money wisely not waste it. Noise from adjacent Bruce Highway all through the night. Airlie Beach is value for money especially Tazman Park. We spent the same money in both locations and def wasted the money in Mycow.
- 775bindib (4/5): Go Elsewhere If You Can - Possibly the most noisy caravan park in Australia with the Bruce Highway only meters away. Grassed and gravel sites. Awful aroma drifting through the camp site. Nice fenced dog exercise area. $40 for water & power to reverse into. Drive through with power & water more expensive. ⭐️⭐️
- Frederick (3/5): Lovely room and bed was comfortable. - The price was fantastic and the late checkout helped me so much. There was quite a lot of people partying and walking around and talking till 3-4am. Music was being played until I had to bang on my wall at 3am. And people were coming and going at 4.
- Bianca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Excellent value for money. Nothing, I was very happy.
- Louise (6/5): Pleasant -
- Josefina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Trevor (5/5): Passable -
- Noven (9/5): Superb -
- Climber490098 (2/5): Dirty and unkempt. At least clean the bathroom!!!!!! - Stayed in numerous parks whilst travelling the last 28 months but never experienced such a dirty park. Shower drains and floor covered in hair, toilets had excrement on the floor. No sign of management to discuss and not what you expect for $48 powered site which was adjacent to Bruce Highway noise!
- Bodhi (10/5): Exceptional -
- DayTrip55105509366 (2/5): Avoid !!!! - We came as a couple and were surprised that after 1 month of renting, the owner kicked us out without any reason.
We are a very respectful and pleasant couple.
As soon as we went to the campsite to see our friends, we were chased away by the police.
We've had nothing but great experiences since we arrived in Australia, and we've never had any problems.
We cry racism!
What's more, the locals aren't clean - we had to wash everyone's dishes several times!
Go somewhere else!
- Jang (10/5): Wonderful facility - Facility Would be better the property had common kitchen facilities
- I1461GSpennyk (2/5): UNSAFE FEMALES AVOID - Great scenic location by the river for 1 night.....if you'd like to be abused ny drunks and drug addicts. IF YOU ARE FEMALE AVOID THIS PLACE, the facilities are filthy dirty. The river is beautiful.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Sharee (7/5): Simple, comfortable donga-style accomodation. - Easy, quick to arrange, firm bed, safe. The sheets had marks (not stains) that appeared to be blood!
- Marie (8/5): Pleasant definitely nice atmosphere and friendly lady showed me around. - Friendly people. I did wonder if there was any complimentary breakfast available but I should have asked. Having to walk a distance to my car because the parking bay has one way access but can hold 2 cars. If I parked in the bay next to my cabin the neighbours car can't get out if I am not around to move my car. The remote control on tv didn't work. I felt the cabin was a bit too small and felt tight with only one small window.
- Bogdan (7/5): Good -
- Bogdan (8/5): Very good -
- Liberato (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamara (6/5): Pleasant - The staff were lovely. The bed really hurt my back
- Anita (9/5): Quiet camp grounds by the river - Friendly staff, who took the time to show me where my cabin was and direct me to the riverfront. There were nice spots by the river to sit or fish and the owners have put a fair amount of effort into developing the area.
- Explorer56697226237 (10/5): Great Stay highly recommend - Intended only staying one night but extended our stay to 5 nights.
Staff could not have been more helpful and rate was very good.
The facilities and grounds are obviously being upgraded and Malina and Tom are doing a fantastic job of improving the park.
The area by the riverbank was well thought out with seating and fishing holders on artificial grass. A great area for relaxing and enjoying a cider!
While we were there it was quite wet but the site drained quickly and was a problem.
We travelled with our dog Klim and he was made feel very welcome.
We highly recommend a stay at My Cow at Bakers Creek and we look forward to visiting whenever we pass through MacKay again.
Any negative comments in reviews should be ignored and definitely stay here.
- Liesel (9/5): Superb -
- Monique (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (3/5): Was okay for just one night. - The facilities were really good. There were 4 trains going on one side of the facility overnight. The first horn went off at 1.30am and then with the others as they came through. On the other side of the facility was a main road, which meant you had the sound of traffic all night long.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Avonne (7/5): Very suitable for overnight stay. - Location was very handy for this trip. Staff member was very helpful. Reasonably priced. Toaster and jug worked well. Enjoyed the coffee and milk. Have previously used this caravan style accommodation on site. Then was very new and very clean. Was a little disappointed that van was not as clean as could be, and that for 2 people there was only 1 dessert spoon, no forks, but 3 dining knives. Crockery had 2 of everything.
- Sammy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Nicol (6/5): nice but could it been better - nice bed, the room had everything that I needed the room to far from toilets. and because of the rain everywhere was muddy and it was really difficult not to get your shoes muddy. they must have at least one pave path to go to bathroom and kitchen
- Sukhpreet (8/5): Very good -
- Penelope (6/5): Pleasant - shared bathrooms we not clean
- Philip (10/5): Great hospitality and facilities are at hand great view for a caravan park enjoyed the stay - Everything Need more pillows a broom
- Garry (9/5): most comfortable stay -
- Dale (9/5): Superb - well laid out clean and in a great area for a bigger person myself being 6’7 mattress was a little to small but nothing to bad
- Maja (6/5): Pleasant -
- Richard (5/5): lack of transport totally ruined my stay. However, the staff were fantastic and really tried to help. A big THANK YOU! - The facilities were ok The solo accommodation was cramped. However, traveling on public transport was a disaster! You need your own transportation to fully enjoy the area.
- Adam (8/5): perfect place for a quick stopover while travelling for work - clean and tidy.
- Andrea (8/5): good stay in Mackay - good stay for a couple of nights the dude at the rezeption tried to sell his book and app. was quite when we tried to check in
- Douglas (8/5): very good clean place - handy
- Garland (7/5): Good -
- Mariann (2/5): Very poor - Unfortunately the bed and pillow were wet from the rain leaking through the roof and also on to the guest. Not a very pleasant sleep due to this.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- E1063OYkathrync (2/5): Solo females - DO NOT STAY - Same story as a review below. Was placed next to owner's campsite as an "upgrade" before being asked for a drink and made to feel unsafe and uncomfortable to the point of needing a friend to call. Solo females - DO NOT STAY.
- julienio2009 (6/5): Maybe for a stopover - We stayed on drive thru powered sites for 2 nights. The park itself is quite nice. The amenities were very untidy. The bathrooms were dirty. The noise from the highway and the trains was bad at night. Probably wouldn’t stay again. Mike seemed very knowledgeable about traveling and things to see.
- gemmawI8988PO (2/5): Young females DO NOT STAY HERE - Mike the owner is extremely sleezy. I was placed in the site next to his caravan and asked to go out with him for dinner. I felt very uncomfortable and would strongly recommend not staying here if you are a solo female traveller
- 714NicoleM (8/5): Great for a stop over - Moving back south from Townsville and after a long day we just needed to rest our heads.
Check in was quick, the man was friendly and welcoming.
The cabin was cute and perfect! Everything we needed was handy. Kettle, hot shower with fluffy towels and air con.
Bed was comfortable and the area quiet (my kid being the exception).
There were mozzies and fly ants in the cabin, but when opening and closing the door and the lights are on, bound to happen.
Otherwise no complaints from us.
Thank you for having us and making us feel welcome
- Neil4880 (4/5): Not what it seems - Despite a friendly welcome at reception and being shown where to park for an unpowered site this site is not good. Because we are on an unpowered site apparently we are not entitled to water, this is only available on the powered sites. Water is a basic necessity and is usually included even for non powered sites.
Then we went to check the amenities and the gents had holes in the floor and required the showers updating we will not be showering there in the morning. Certainly NOT COVID friendly, not sure how they are complying with the regulations.
We will not be recommending this site to any of our grey nomad and other banning friends.
- Adventurers049 (6/5): Nice park but a bit noisy - This is a great park with excellent amenities and is located on the banks of the river.
The only downside is that it is also located close to the roadbridge of the Bruce Highway which results in a lot of traffic noise. If not for the noise, we would give it a 4 star rating.
- Destination232181 (2/5): Stay away - Couldn't wait to leave this place. There were French backpackers sleeping in the laundry. The camp ground is between the loud main highway, a rancid stinking slaughterhouse and a sewerage drain. Dog turds everywhere and moronic people who all seem to be alcoholics. The wifi is weak. If you stay here good luck.
- Marie283x (2/5): Do not stay here! - Upon checking into somewhere you are expected to feel welcomed as at the end of the day you are paying them money. Check in here was absolutely awful and we seriously considered walking away and finding somewhere else. We only stayed because a thunder storm was due very soon. We parked up as you do and proceeded to go to the office. We were not informed of the office closing early that day upon booking. We rang the number to be greeted by a truly awful attitude from a man on the other end. He proceded to make excuses, pass the blame and speak to me like a piece of dirt making out I was thick and that I had no common sense...'put the money in the envelope and then in the box, can you actually do that'.
Absolutely awful awful service and treatment. Would never return.
- juliamI4280EB (4/5): DO NOT BOOK UNLESS YOU HAVE A CAR - This accommodation is in the middle of nowhere and you will be stuck there if you don’t have a car (the closest store is one hour walk away and buses don’t go by there). If you buy all of your food in advance I guess you’ll be fine but I would still recommend going to a hostel closer to the city.
Despite that the trailers are ok. There were ants in the bathroom but other than that it was clean.
- lees544 (8/5): Mycow accomodation and caravan park - Great place well priced and every thing you need, close to town very central.Has highway noise but not annoying. Has modern kitchen well set up laundry. On a river with designated fishing spots, with rod holders and place for chairs.
- 387maryannem (4/5): Very Noisy!! - Powered site You pay $22 a night if you stay for 3 nights which we did....the fastest and unlimited wifi by far the best.....BUT the road noise is unbelievable soooo bloody noisy ....My last day couldn't come fast enough.....Can't wait to go !!
I definitely would not stay here again......
- 924aliceh (10/5): Good surprise - We arrived late night but still have all the informations we needed for our stay. The owner was nice and the room very clean !! We got the Wi-Fi in the room, who's week working ! The bathrooms are also clean, same for the kitchen who's stay open all night. I recommend.
- Murkel1999 (8/5): Good and quiet place to stay - The hostel is in the south of Mackay.
You will need a car to do basic stuff such as going to the supermarket(10min)and going in the city(15min).
We took a 2 bed dorm for 30 dollar. Small room but really nice bed and air conditioner.
You sleep in caravans but everything is really modern. Big shower rooms and toilets. Everything clean!
The staff is really kind and helped us planning our next trip.
For a few days a really good place to relax!
