• Summutha (4/5): Disappointing due to staff and false info - The rooms are spacious and comfortable Lovely place run by ***** let's not go there. I paid extra for the room as the advertising showed a full buffet breakfast,, turns out you have to pay an additional $25 on top of the EXTRA per person, I already paid to access this (the advertising only says "breakfast included"). The online check-in doesn't work (asks for numbers that haven't been provided in the email), the girl at reception doesn't seem to care as you have to ask specific questions, no explanation of why there's a digital card and a key. There is no where to insert said digital card for power. Upon check-in we were planning on having a nice swim, turns out the pool closed a couple of days ago for renovations, no notification and no change to the hotels website to say this! FALSE ADVERTISING. The WiFi works but barely. The shower floor was covered in soap scum. The shower head faces the shower door, you flood the bathroom waiting for the water to heat up, who designed this? There appears to be mould behind the air conditioner. The power point near the bed is not a standard Australian power point so if you have medical equipment to use, take an extension cord. The curtains do not slide on the rails and I've had to put it back together 3 times. Only 1 chair provided in the room which backs onto a creek, didn't risk opening the door due to visible midgees. The staff at the restaurant should not assume people only speak English as I heard them calling us fat and laughing. The chicken palmy was large but chewy and virtually inedible.

• Boyd (4/5): Wouldn't recommned. - Room was clean. Receptionist was friendly. As a mother staying alone with my teen daughter. I didnt feel safe staying here. The interior lock on main door was broken & didn't lock from the inside. The lock on the flimsy belcony screen door was also broken. Too feel safe, I left the glass door closed & locked for the entire stay. The room whilst clean, smelt very musty. This problen could have been possibly solved if you could have locked the screen door alone. There was a deck being built around the pool so it couldn't be used. Daughter was looking forward to swim after full days of Netball but couldn't. Nothing was stated on the booking website about a pool closure which was really dissapointing. Construction supplies and workers had closed off a massive portion of the complex carpark & with the hotel at capacity, it made parking on site difficult. To my knowledge, there was no elevator to second floor so luggage etc needed to be carried up stairs. Grounds were quite dirty, lots of, cigerette butts and takeaway rubbish laying about. The location of the hotel is relatively close by drive to shops & sporting ammenities but there's nothing within walking distance other than local houses. Not so much a hotel problem but the street lighting in this area is terrible. It's very dark and hard to see while driving. We felt very unsafe in both the hotel & in area. I booked out intial 2 nights on booking.com and decided to add a 3rd night onto our stay the day before we arrived. I paid for the extra night on arrival and was charged $167 whilst the exact room was being advertised for $131 online.. very cheeky.

The outdoor furniture was old and broken with the tabletop falling off its base. Car park was extremely tight and difficult to use. Oceanside is a bit of an exaggeration..

• Mandyw (8/5): Comfortable, convenient, clean and fresh - would happily return. - The property has very recently been renovated, in fact it seems the renovation is still ongoing. The room was quite spacious, clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was great. Staff were very friendly. The shower drain appeared to be quite blocked following the renovation so we had to keep turning the water off mid-shower to allow it to drain or else risk overflow. The room was overall very dark even with the lights turned on and the bedside lamp did not work. The power point beside the beds would not run a phone charger, and the power point in the bathroom would not power a hair straightener. The included continental breakfast was not available to us as the bistro did not open early enough for us to access before we had to head out for the day.

• World_TravelerG (4/5): Extremely disappointing! - Location was close to where we were visiting for the weekend Our room was located on the bottom level near the entrance. As soon as you entered the room it stunk (really musty smell, almost thought it was from the carpets). Discovered this was from the aircon. The aircon filters were not clean and in need of a deep clean inside the unit (mould on flap and inside unit). An ice-cream container was a nice touch though to collect the water dripping out of the bottom of the unit! TV/remote would not work when we arrived, new batteries were provided by staff when asked and when that failed staff brought over another remote which resolved that issue. Internet was not available the whole 2 day/night stay and staff advised this was likely due to the being fully occupied and everyone using the internet, or the router inside the bathroom roof cavity being down and they would have to notify head office. We heard nothing back from any staff thereafter. Both of the only 2 bed pillows were lumpy and not comfortable at all. Blanket provided in wardrobe could do with a good wash. Shower was not clean, mould build up in wall tile grout on both sides which when scraped with fingernail does come off easily and someone's hair strands left on wall tiles was gross. Dust build up on other fittings shows. Outside patio was filthy with possibly bat poop residue all over the walls, not inviting at all. Was clear that this room was in dire need of a really thorough scrub and clean, not a wipe over in between guests. I do have photos should management read this review and wish to be provided to back up the above issues. Other family members had 2 rooms on the higher level and said their rooms weren't quite as bad, although their shower drain must have been blocked as water kept going outside the shower area. We often stay over on Nebo Road when coming to town however thought we would make a change, however being this was a very disappointing stay, we would not stay again.

There was nothing negative about the property. It is just the ‘typical’ motel room. In our case, we had two single beds.

We were on special diets and management was very reluctant to cater to our needs. We pay the same as everybody else, so we should be treated the same way. The name of the property is deceptive. It is not by the ocean and not central at all.

Good value for money with a complimentary breakfast. The staff we so helpful and friendly. The place itself looked great but the outside areas are not finished...lawn not layed, pool surround needs urgent repair. Room smelt a little mildewy. Not walking distance from cbd. In house Restaurant not open on weekends.

Dirty facilities (I have photos) and very dirty room. Not only were we given an accessible room but we also had probably the dirtiest room in the hotel. There was water pooling by the electricity point which is SO DANGEROUS!! Please make sure someone calls me about the quality of this stay.

Liked the location, nice and quiet with some nice bushland views from the balcony. Short drive into town for restaurants and too the location we came up to town for. It may have been me not reading the fine print, but the included breakfast was just a cold breakfast, and we had to pay extra for the buffet.
