- Ronda (9/5): Comfortable, great staff, food was amazing and big portions, awesome entertainment. - Location A little noisy on the weekend as it is a very popular place with lots of entertainment.
- Sian (1/5): - Location was good and it was clean The loud music was not disclosed in the booking. It was so loud the room was shaking and the floor beneath me was vibrating. I could not sleep. I ended up having to drive all the way to Sydney back home.
- Lakshmi (9/5): - I came here with my family of 2 kids. I felt safe and comfortable staying. Recommend for value accommodation option. A guest fridge with a milk bottle would be of help.
- Tom (7/5): -
- Darren (7/5): Clean and comfortable. - Very clean and comfortable. There is nothing wrong.
- Rafael De Campos (9/5): -
- Kell (10/5): -
- Yuya (7/5): - It was a good location because the winery tour that I booked contains sround this hotel. I wanted to use hangers and desk.
- aiden (8/5): -
- Kylie (7/5): -
- Pratik (5/5): not too bad for a short stay -
- Gharat (5/5): - The rooms felt claustrophobic, with an unpleasant smell that made the stay uncomfortable. The shared toilets were also inconvenient and did not meet expectations. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and improvements in cleanliness, ventilation, and room comfort are needed. There was some typical smell from carpet which was irritating

- Hayleigh (4/5): - First workers on where very nice later on the night there was one lady speaking loudly towards me saying I was going the wrong way when I had the keys to go upto the room she seen me walk out of there to go into the pokies room The bed was like sleeping on a rock
- Peter (5/5): I enjoy staying here when I am on a motorcycle trip as all I need is a convenient bed. - Great price, location. Bathrooms were not well maintained. No plugs in baths, no toilet paper in one bathroom, no soap in another.
- Raj (1/5): Pathetic experience at Hotel Cessnock. - The English guy who was at the reception was friendly and emphatic and came across genuine and willing to help. The Hotels management of my booking incorrectly and allocating my confirmed room to someone else.
Very pathetic and shallow treatment of a customer without any apology or sense of remorse.
- Katie (10/5): Highly recommended staying there ill be making hotel cessncok a regular stay for family visits - Amazing helpful There was nothing to fault
- Susan (6/5): Sty was worth it for the money , food and entertainment. - The location , the food Facilities weren’t clean , stocked
- Kell (7/5): -
- Rosina (7/5): - Air conditioning was very effective as it was very hot. Bathroom was reasonably close to our room. It was adequate for our needs after the concert as all other accommodation was extremely expensive. The Hotel only closed at 3am, but this didn't really matter in our situation as we only got back at 12.30am and needed to wind down after the concert so technically this is not didn't you like as such. It really depends on your reasons for staying.

- Damyian (4/5): - My air conditioner in didn’t work for both nights on my stay. In formed staff and nothing was done. It was humid so had to leave window open and as the pub was loud I barely slept.
- Margaret (8/5): Clean, comfortable, affordable - Noisy on Saturday night
- Fiona (6/5): -
- McNeil (5/5): - Location Dirty
- Christina (8/5): - Location was very central to everything . Walking distance to cafes and resturants
- Warren (8/5): Served its purpose - Close No key
- Alexander (1/5): Horrible night, would rather sleep in the car - Nothing. Horrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. I am almost certain that the good reviews are just people getting free drinks for a good review. The pub guest were able to access our floor so we had the pleasure to listen to drunk people walking up the stairs to use the toilets, smoking on the balcony (we could smell the smoke in our room) and just the doors opening and closing until midnight. Couldn't sleep even with earplugs. The facilities were also dirty with heaps of hair in the shower. The AC switch was covered by tape.
- fiona (9/5): - Great location Nah all good
- Sandra (8/5): not often stay in hotels with no ensuites because of age, put in room near facilities thanks staff - location no ensuites
- LISA (10/5): -
- Terence (8/5): Cessnock Hotel amply suits my travel needs ... to simply stay o/night, eat in a homely environment, - I felt welcomed' evening dinner was v good and prompt ... by friendly Staff. Heard loud music from below ... but wet tissues as ear plugs always work.
Room 15 still partly fronted the main street and traffic.
I recall having Room 7 (I think) last year. That was quietiest.
- stephen (6/5): Cessnock trip - Price
- Craig (9/5): -
- Ben (6/5): A good value room for the night, but only if you enjoy live music - The low price There was a live band playing on the floor below my room, so it was very loud, but they were quite good so I did enjoy the music up until the point when I wanted to go to sleep
- Christine (8/5): - It was very pleasant I understand it is a budget accommodation but an available breakfast in the dining room would be nice
- Jes (6/5): -
- Lomavere (8/5): -
- Billal (1/5): - Staff good Aircon not heating, tv doesn’t work, blanket very simple not heat specially for winter and rainy weather must be
Protected cold also heating not adjustable.
- Melissa (7/5): Clean stop - One night rest in the middle of our way to North, last minute reservation, we arrived and the room was ready for us! A bit noisy the street and some guest during the night, but expected
- Terence (8/5): Apart from no breakfast, I experienced my stay and dine-in as homely and welcoming - Convenient and affordable Disappointed there was no cereal / bread in the breakfast room this morning; probably just an
oversight. I expect to be in Casino in a couple of months time - at Casino Hotel.
- Sue (6/5): Ok for a fly in visit - Food was great, staff were excellent, bed was comfy You get what you pay for, the bathrooms are functional but not great looking! Bit of a blew in the beer garden in the early hours of the morning which was entertaining but disruptive
- Peter (8/5): Cessnock - Location and helpful staff Nothing
- Katie (2/5): Very poor - Good location to explore hunter valley from. Not expensive. Rooms weren’t cleaned, bathroom wasn’t cleaned. Music was so loud on Saturday night it was like you were in the room with the band and it was impossible to sleep at all.
- Maria (7/5): Cheap, clean accomodation in a good location with wonderful staff. - You can't beat the price for simple, clean accomodation. Staff very friendly and helpful. The shared bathrooms can put some people off, but if you're used to camping like us, they are fine. Clean.
- Aisling (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, pleasant staff On a Saturday a band were playing just below us - out belongings were shaken off the bedside lockers by the vibrations.
- Kroegel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sonia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (4/5): Disappointing -
- Stefano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terence (8/5): Cessnock Hotel was convenient and well-placed for my o/night stay. - Thank you for putting me in a quiet room (Room 7) ... got a good night's sleep and no disturbance from
less considerate guests (there're weren't any, this time!).
Enjoyed a good evening meal - friendly staff, also at front desk on arrival.
I've learnt to book taxi early next morning, for prompt service. Nothing, this time.
- Bagnell (5/5): Passable - Clean room Beds need replacing
Only had 1 pillow each, they were flat.
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
- Sharyn (4/5): Disappointing -
- Deepuk (7/5): Good -
- Saskia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terence (5/5): Cessnock Hotel itself and Staff were fine (as above) ... I'd consider staying again, if (as above). - Location for next day; the friendly, welcoming Staff; the evening Dinner; the Breakfast Room/Facilities/Cereals,
Bedroom was clean; shared facilities were reasonably clean. The unexpected noise at night .....seemed to come from inconsiderate Guests on outside-my-room balcony,
eg smoking, "loud" voices on outside balcony with doors open and smoke blown into inside corridor;
a couple of senior women choosing to settle on the balcony at 5:45AM, smoking and moderately loud conversation
.... I didn't get a (much needed) full night's sleep - harder to get to sleep, and was wakened early.
Showering in bath could be a bit dangerous for senior folk - without a non slip mat.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - The bathrooms could do with a good scrubbing. One was filthy. The other had used soap in it
- Belinda (7/5): Handy location and cheap - Very handy for drinks & lunch No toilet paper in the bathroom . Couldn’t turn off air conditioner and the light didn’t work, we had to uses the light near the sink.
- Peter (4/5): Very good overall but you need some decent cleaners in there. - Great location and very friendly staff. The Bar manager was excellent and great service. The light in Room 14 was not working and the bathrooms were not cleaned and the toilets filthy.
- Catherine (3/5): Very disappointing - Been to this hotel a few times and not been bothered by how run down it was, due to convenient location and friendliness What spoiled our experience this time, was the doff doff noise that commenced around 2:30-3:00 am in the morning [both nights], with young ones running up and down the hallway yelling, laughing and screaming - only to find out it was one of the bar staff and her friends using the place and the side balcony as an after hours party venue.
- Russ (7/5): Good -
- Paul (9/5): Good old country pub with a great atmosphere. - everything
- Linda (10/5): Just what we needed for a stopover. - Only stayed one night. Great friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Good location
- Graham (9/5): Superb - Room was clean & tidy.
- Tiana (9/5): Great staff , comfortable and easy , value for money - Staff are excellent , value for money , comfortable Everything was good
- Gaylee (10/5): Exceptional - Location and price, nice clean room Nothing
- Ralston (7/5): Good - The rooms were Spacious. Lighting in the room needs be bright, the bed side table in our room was not cleaned, it had stuff from the previous guests inside.
- John (7/5): Does the Job! - The bistro had great meals. And the air conditioning was a welcome addition. Great central location and close to the wineries and other attractions. The cleaning was a bit hit and miss in both the rooms, communal kitchen and the bathrooms. Plus, the shower baths need to have nonslip mats, can be a bit dicey!
- Odette (4/5): Disappointing -
- Manoj (9/5): Superb -
- Tharindu (7/5): Cheap, tidy, clean, share bathrooms. - It worths the money, it was very cheap but was clean and tidy There was shared bathroom, which is totally okay with the price.
I would like if the temp of the air conditioner can be changed rather than fixed
But given the cheap price, these are all acceptable
- Peter (2/5): Disappointing as the place wasn’t ready. - It is a central location Although we checked in and got the keys mid afternoon, when we arrived later in the evening our room was not made up. ( as were other rooms) luckily we found one of the staff downstairs and they were able to let us into another room that had been made up.
- Peter (8/5): Very convenient with friendly staff for a no-frills stopover. - Very friendly and helpful staff in a classic old pub. Great value if you don’t mind a shared bathroom.
- Meagan (8/5): Very good -
- Kelli (7/5): Perfect for the stay we needed - Easily accessible to Hunter Valley Gardens
Very clean and tidy Not a lot in the rooms
- Binod (8/5): Very good - Location
- Nerida (9/5): Superb -
- Rosemary (9/5): Stayed there to attend a Christmas market nearby. - Convenient to bus transport OK for an overnight stay.
- Kait (6/5): BYO mug - Share microwave & share fridge is handy. Very central. Walk to great Indian food. Close to town pool. "Self serve breakfast" available in share kitchen great idea, but is BYO mugs & teaspoons. Coffee provided, but no mugs, I did ask & was told no we dont provide them. Also no sponge or cloth to wash dishes. Share bathroom is male & female multi person shared. 2 flights of stairs & big step over bath into shower, not suitable for elderly I'd say.
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely old building, great room and service. - Architecture, pleasant and professional staff, AC, bedroom comfy. Stairs - but I knew about them and prepared myself for the climb. Very sturdy stairs and handrail.
- Joshua (6/5): Pleasant -
