- Wendy (8/5): The Alison is a great place to stay for a short trip and it is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the cin - The location is excellent and there are clear instructions about how to access the property. There is parking on the street. It is nice and clean. The hot water in the shower is inconsistent and the water pressure is very low.
- Troy (10/5): - Location was awesome. Facility was well kept and very clean. Water temp in shower was hard to control.
- Giroud Grumley (1/5): - They cancelled on my as they double booked
- Anthony Kevin (8/5): Entirely satisfactory - All went well. One night was a bit cold . The second night I was supplied an extra blanket and it was fine.

- Elise (8/5): - The room was a good size and nice and comfortable. The parking was difficult.
- kathryn (4/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms. Bed was comfortable. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. Very noisy, have stayed twice and both times was noisy, noise from outside cars and people can be heard at all hours. Bathroom doors were heavy and made a loud noise when closing. Room was dark and needed a light on. Not much street parking available.
- Paul (9/5): - Very pleasant
- Rebecca (10/5): - The place was clean, beds comfy and not too loud.
- Kerry (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): - We were there for one night, and needed somewhere close to stay near the UNSW The cleanliness of the shower would have been the only negative about the stay

- Stephenie (9/5): Fantastic location & value, would definitely be back. - Absolutely loved our little stay at The Alison and would 100% come back and stay here again. For the price and the location, you can’t fault it.
The staff are so so friendly and helpful, beds and rooms are small but very comfortable and have everything you need. Bathrooms are clean and spacious.
Little kitchen and laundry facilities downstairs are super handy. Literally only thing is the temperament of the shower temperature 😅 it’s a bit confusing how to get it ‘warm’ rather then boiling and/or cold. But it’s powerful and clean!
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Mark (7/5): - Good location for my purposes. Very friendly young lady on the desk upon arrival. Room size, smaller than I anticipated. Getting in and out of the shower was a tight squeeze, im not overly a large person.
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Perfect, clean and well organised spot for a bed for the night. - Really well organised after hours key collection and parking. Great value for money for those looking to use the room as a bed for the night and showering. We dont mind a walk so 10 mins to the light rail and main street was perfect. This is not a didn't like as such, just general info. the rooms are pretty tight for a queen bed.
- Nardi (10/5): Fantastic, friendly and great value. - The staff were amazing from start to finish. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Love the location with easy walking distance to where we needed to go. Kitchen area downstairs was clean and comfortable. There was nothing I didnt like

- Rebekka (7/5): Clean and good value if you’re needing a bed only. - Location for Races, perfect. Small rooms.
- Maresa (8/5): - Charming old house, nice staff Loud doors, my room was next to a bathroom, i could literally hear everything. I woke up everytime someone used the bathroom.
- Frank & June (5/5): Probably ok for some but not in our case - The property was close to the Hospital and was an easy walk along the street. with the parking at additional cost made it so the car did not have to move, and the staff allowed us to pay for an additional day to cover the discharge time from the hospital. Although the room was classed as a Deluxe Queen it was very cramped and small. We had a bathroom, but the shower was so cramped that you could hardly move to shower properly. Our Room was the only one on the floor that had a private bathroom, the rest had shared facilities, and we were next door to the "public" toilet was used constantly all night so the banging of the other rooms doors plus the toilet door kept us awake.
- Alana (8/5): -
- Char (2/5): Bed bugs - Third week of staying. Each week in different room. First night I stayed in week 3. I woke up next morning covered in welt bites all over my body. I thought it was mozzie but didn’t hear or see one. Itchy all day I brought itch cream and welts were huge. Next night more on my face. I got to Ed and everyone said bed bugs from bite pattern. I emailed reception who were prompt and checked out my room while I was not there. They agreed to give me a new room. I was so paranoid about more bites. I was not offered discount for my stay
- Char (8/5): Better than last weeks experience - Location Hearing lots of doors shut that wake you
- Char (7/5): Good stay - Location Having to unplug fridge yo use kettle in this room. No bath mat given and biscuits not restocked.
- Jo (7/5): This place is brand you and well upkept - highly recommended - Very very clean and well kept All was great
- Richard (10/5): Enjoyable - Staff Staff
- Coby (9/5): Randwick Gem - Location spot on for Uni visits. I do love the quaintness of the Alison. I took an ensuite room this time which I much prefer. Tricky to get a park. Once you've got it, don't move. My room wasn't bright due to the era of the build but that's not to case in different rooms of this building. There is also road noise.
- Shona (5/5): Adequate for your needs - Staff were friendly, and the location was good. The kitchen was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The room was insanely small, quite cramped and definitely on the small side. We were told that the beds would be made every other day but the linen was not changed. Also, there was lots of slamming of doors all throughout the night disturbing our sleep.
- Tova (6/5): Snäll personal men off läge - Hjälpsam personal och mysigt rum Delad toalett samt inte jättebra läge
- Daira (6/5): - It was clean The bathrooms were shared and outside the room, seemed like a hostel
- Diana (8/5): A nice place to stay. - Everything was very clean and the reception girls were very lovely and helpful. The bed was very uncomfortable for me, but my body is pretty wrecked.
- taylor (8/5): -
- Sarah (4/5): -
- Trevor (9/5): Convenient & comfortable. - Location Room quite small but well appointed.
- Anthony Kevin (9/5): Very good value and convenience . - Air con good , clean convenient bathrooms . Friendly helpful staff . Terrific location close to Randwick cafes and to light rail stop .
- Lucy (8/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): Overall was nice amd clean - Close to work and clean Very small
- kai (9/5): Did the job, clean, comfortable - Location, value for money Couple of issues with the water temperature being very in consistent in the shower and light flickering in the room.
- Lex (9/5): -
- Krisharna (7/5): -
- Ruth (10/5): -
- Ben (10/5): -
- Grace (9/5): A very cute stay for a wonderful Sydney getaway. - The Alison is very close to bus and light rail stations. I felt safe walking to and from public transport alone at night as a solo female traveller.
The sink in the room made it very convenient to fill up water bottles and for teeth brushing and face washing.
The aircon was great and kept the room cool through the night. There was only 1 bath mat in the shared bathroom (shared by 4 rooms) so it was quickly soaked and was unusable by the time I had an opportunity to shower.
Other guests speaking in the hallway areas can be easily heard from the room.
- Byron (7/5): -
- JANINE (8/5): Great stay for one night and close to the train station and the event we were attending. - The room was clean and had everything we needed. Loved the aircon in the room as it was a humid night. Bed was small but comfy. Bathroom was located next door to our room. Shower was great. Staff were exceptional. Parking on site was good. Location was great, short walk to the station. I feel the price could have been cheaper as this really was hostel accommodation, boutique or not. Parking was tight but to be expected, lucky my car is not big. Bedroom door had an annoying loud creak when it was closing so couldn't sneak out to the loo in the night without waking my daughter.
- Lucy (10/5): -
- Nicole (8/5): - A comfortable stay
- Josh (1/5): -
- Hinemaire (10/5): -
- Martin (7/5): - The receptionist was amazing Small room. No shower in room
- Denise (10/5): -
- Jhoel (8/5): -
- Courtney (2/5): Wouldn’t go back unless rooms were deep cleaned and bathrooms were maintained - The reception staff were lovely
The rooms have lots of potential, unfortunately it’s just not there The bedsheets hadn’t been washed, there was hair from the previous guest in the bed. Upon further inspection the room was in desperate need of a deep clean. The bathroom had broken tiles, dirty grout and water leaking from the shower base. The reception staff were very understanding but it’s disappointing that the cleanliness of the property was no where near acceptable
- Ruth (9/5): An easy stay, cheap, convenient and all the things needed, without any superfluousness -
- JANE (9/5): Excellent stay and would book again. - Excellent location, communal kitchen, laundry facilities, room. Staff so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel fine however some guests inconsiderate about closing doors and noise. I asked if guests could be reminded about being quiet after a certain time. Not the hotels fault but I feel like pubs, guests need to be aware of consideration for others.
- Kimberley (9/5): - We had a wonderful stay at The Alison Boutique Accommodation and truly appreciated the warm hospitality from start to finish. A big thank you to Erin from housekeeping for keeping our room and bathroom so clean and for thoughtfully restocking the tea, coffee, and biscuits each day. We’re also very grateful to Pia and Mel at reception for their warm welcome, helping with our cases on arrival and departure, and for being so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed our visit and would happily stay again!
- Knapman (8/5): -
- Pathfinder32 (9/5): Sydney Feb trip - I liked the room, small and cosy, good for short stays. Maybe AC unit might need little maintance a it has weak blow. Rooms are well kept with a sink and small fridge also. Its sort of like backpackers as showers are shared but the showerrooms are in good nick. Just use other ones either downstairs or further upstairs if others are occuppied
- Anastasiia (10/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): Excellent value -
- Christina (8/5): Lovely Hotel, great location, fabulous staff! - The old building is beautiful and spacious.. the renovations and amenities are good. Beds are very comfortable and aircon was great.
We didn’t use the Laundry or Kitchen so I can’t comment on these.
The staff are absolutely lovely. We were in the front family room which has a great double-glazed bay window.. but the traffic is still quite loud and keep in mind the Prince Alfred Hospital is close, so you will hear occasional sirens.
My parents who I stayed with.. both have mobility issues so the slippery wheels on the beds are not the safest, you only had to bump the beds gently and they slid sideways 🥺
Room really needs more clothes hooks and a separate table for the Tea / Coffee making facilities (not as part of the wardrobe / shelving).
- Sandra (8/5): - Super Lage Etwas enge Zimmer

- Nicole (8/5): -
- kathryn (5/5): - Receptionist was nice and friendly and it was a good location. I stayed near the bathroom and entrance to car park on the bottom floor. Was very noisy with doors banging and could hear guests walking around their room above.
- Abigail (10/5): Perfect all round - 10/10 is all I can say. Brilliant value for money and exceeded expectations. We stayed for 8 nights on our first leg and loved it so much we came for 3 more nights at the end of our travels around the east coast. We were a little wary due to it being on the cheaper side and shared bathrooms, however the bathrooms were easily accessible opposite the rooms, and extremely clean. We never had to wait to use a shower. The rooms weren’t large but definitely enough room for two people with a lot of luggage!
Kitchen facilities were great with utensils and equipment, makes it easier not having to eat out 24/7.
Will definitely be staying again when we visit Sydney next year! N/A
- Annie (7/5): - Staff were friendly and great location to tram. Room small and air-conditioner loud.
- wally goody (7/5): - Location was great for us at a good price and we wereonly there to sleep. Room was comfy enough to sleep but any extended stay in room would be uncomfortable and the people who were also using our shared bathroom must of been showering outside of shower but that not the motel fault.
- Dylan (3/5): Terrible. Do not recommend - Uncomfortable
Unclean
Shoe box
Expensive
- Lisa (10/5): Thanks for your hospitality Alison…until we meet again 😊 - Location was perfect…walking distance to local amenities & hotels
Staff…all….polite & welcoming & helpful….smiles all round
Clean & comfortable rooms with all you need Nothing…loved it
- Bart (8/5): Good stay at Randwick with friendly staff - Friendly staff, close to lot of restaurants, bus stop. Good beds Very small rooms. Lot of noise from opening and closing room doors during the night. Bathrooms were clamp and moisty
