Also had a cafe and restaurant on site which had delicious food. Convenient to park out back. Such a quirky place. Real antiques, chandeliers and candleabras were just the start. Reminded us of Italy. Loved the giant fireplace near the Atrium. Many birds to see too - king parrot, rosellas, sulfur crested cockatoos, not to mention the stuffed peacock! Beds had heating (timed electric blanket) and there was also a heater in the room. Wifi was a bit spotty at times..

- Isabel (9/5): Zurück in die Roaring Twenties - Unterkunft wie aus einer anderen Zeit. Wir haben uns spontan in die Zwanzigerjahre des letzten Jahrhunderts zurückversetzt gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, und ein Abendessen im Restaurant des Hotels sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Das inkludierte Frühstück hat unsere Erwartungen leider nicht erfüllt. Auch manche Kleinigkeiten im Hotelzimmer, wie etwa ein Föhn, haben wir vermisst.

Lots of communal lounge areas to sit and have a drink or read. Great cafe/restaurant. Very friendly owners and reception staff. The renovation is lovely and apparently there is more work planned which will make it even better. All was good!

- Kate (8/5): A beautiful mountain escape - Beautifully restored. Very comfortable. The antiques decorating the place are fabulous. Friendly staff. We dined at the restaurant one night and the food was delicious. Excellent value for a family! We went next door to the movies one day, which was fun. The only thing that wasn’t great was access to good coffee at breakfast. A simple but tasty breakfast was included in our stay but to get a proper coffee we needed to line up and purchase a coffee at the cafe. The process to order a coffee was very slow, the staff grumpy and the coffee then took ages (ie we’d finished eating breakfast). The coffee tasted good but the process could be improved.

Feeding the birds in the early morning was lovely . Very comfortable bed and pillows . Due to the VIC bridge being worked on the traffic noise was loud but eased off into the evening . We were provided with earplugs in the room to help minimise the noise . Was warm in the room that particular day we stayed as there is no air con we slept with the window open so noise was an initial problem . There is a fan provided . Bathroom in our room was disappointing as it wasn’t in keeping with the decorating throughout the building
- Uchenna (9/5): We had a lovely weekend relaxing and celebrating our wedding anniversary, in the perfect location! - The continental breakfast buffet provided in the dining room on busy days was lovely. The complimentary cooked breakfast and brewed coffee on our last day was an unexpected bonus! The weather wasn't great while we were there but we enjoyed relaxing in the gorgeous sitting rooms , reading , listening to podcasts and crafting! The only negative thing I could say is that our bed was very soft. We much prefer a firm mattress, and would have slept better on one.

Gorgeously decorated, we enjoyed breakfast in the garden room, and hot breakfasts from the cafe are also great. The Staff are so helpful and friendly and adapted happily to our emergency change of plans. The room was quieter than I expected, given that the highway traffic is being detoured past the front door! A Bower bird sat outside the Breakfast room window, and we saw amazing sunsets. Recommended. The only downside was the traffic, and that's NOT V&A's fault! They did provide earplugs but we didn't need them to sleep. Usually main traffic is on the highway, further up the hill. Currently detouring with roadworks.

The place has great ambience, amazing decor and I just love that the owners have restored the place to its former glory and added a Great Gatsby flair that has made it so fun, my kids even thought the queen lived there!! The continental breakfast was superb and we enjoyed looking out at the smiling greens keepers as they manicured the gorgeous gardens. It was a true delight we were disappointed to leave! It seems rare these days to get this type of customer service that actually values you and your experience. We appreciated it a lot! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Didn’t know about this before we arrived. Room was very small with nowhere to put anything. Bathroom sink so low down would be perfect for someone in a wheelchair chair but they couldn’t get up the stairs. No bathroom mirror

Nous avons assisté à la soirée du Nouvel An et c'était fabuleux. Le dîner était gastronomique, la présentation des plats, la décoration de la salle de restaurant, le personnel très à l'écoute, l'animation musicale, tout était parfait. Je recommande tout à fait cet hôtel majestueux, très relaxant et confortable avec en plus une décoration "art déco" remarquable. Il n'y avait pas de machine à café ni en libre service ni pour le petit déjeuner.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. We will be back. The family room bathroom that we booked need some maintenance.

Looking after people seemed to come naturally to everyone we encountered, truly the loveliest people! The guesthouse itself is stunning, with beautiful and interesting decor. There is a story in every room. It has been tastefully decorated and was a joy to experience. The bed was comfy, the views excellent, the food was impeccable, and I will definitely be back. The wheelchair accessible room is not completely wheelchair accessible - however, the staff did everything to accommodate and make the stay comfortable and suitable for all.

- Kerrie (6/5): No mod-cons - From the time you stepped in the door you were transformed to the 19th century. Beautiful common areas. Breakfast included was a nice inclusion. Also had a restaurant and Cafe attached. The room was tiny - 30cm from bed end to wall. Ensuite sink so small (20cm across) it was difficult to even brush our teeth, also no sink plug. Room had no accessible power outlets (1 under the bed) which meant couldn't shave, recharge phones, dry hair, charge hearing aids. There were no towel rails or hooks in the bathroom, nor a vanity to put toiletries. No face washers. No TV. Lighting was rather dim. This was disappointing. If money was not an issue I'd suggest combining 2 rooms n making them a reasonable size.

- Emelia (9/5): Faultless stay! - We loved the design, the feel of the property, it is a gorgeous residence and the owners have done a great job. It’s something completely different and they still manage to make it a very personal experience. To provide guests with tea and coffee station, milk, heaters in every room, all the amenities one could wish for; it was a great touch. This property goes the extra mile. There wasn’t anything we would change, we will be staying here again in the future and telling family and friends.

- Elizabeth (9/5): Loved our time at the Victoria & Albert Guesthouse and we will be coming back! - We loved our stay at V&A Guesthouse. Meeting and chatting with the owner was an absolute highlight, the accommodation was cosy and beautifully decorated and the surprise cooked breakfast made our Monday morning. There was only one small thing - we really loved our time at V&A Guesthouse and we will be coming back. We stayed on a Sunday night and the restaurant was (understandably) closed. There's not a lot in Mount Victoria in the way of food options and Uber and DoorDash don't deliver. It would be wonderful to have list of local delivery options.

The history, the decor, the lovingly way this grand old lady has been restored. Love that the owner is on-site and willing to interact with guests. We had a wonderful meal with great service. Friendly staff all around. Enjoyed being able to wander, sit, ponder, play the piano in so many public spaces. Just a beautiful, beautiful place. The only thing for me (having netball knees) is the 2 flights of stairs. That was a bit challenging. Otherwise - exceptional!

The water for the tea & coffee could have been a little hotter.superb Xmas lunch, wonderful atmosphere. Water pressure very low & no hot water in room 14 but this did not dampen our stay.

No tv in the room, but there is a separate tv/lounge room near coffee/tea facilities on an open Landing. Various teas, coffee, Milo and different milk choices. Microwave on Landing also. Arrived late so didn't use restaurant. Continental breakfast excellent and plentiful with gluten free choices
