Nice large grassed area for kids. BBQ available. Carparking. Room smelt like pee. Which only started really smelling at night with heater going unfortunately. A few things missing from kitchen. Playground very dated.
- Rosemary (4/5): - The closeness to the pools and eaterys was great. The beds were very uncomfortable š
- Shuang (10/5): nice - good view
- Lorraine (9/5): Had a great stay - No meals supplied Kitchen available to cook own meals but no pots available Found it to be very comfortable Nothing I didnt like as the price was reasonable
- Admira (8/5): -
- Leola And Olly (9/5): - Location. Ease of check in.
Good facilities.
- Maree (3/5): Very uninspiring. - Location was average The room had an unpleasant smell. The paintwork was peeling off and grubby. The curtains didnāt fit so the outside light flashed into the room all night not good value for money. The lower bunk bed had 2 soft mattresses on it, one stacked on the other
- Paul (8/5): Happy just outside of Hanmer. - I liked that it was out of town only by 5 minutes and that it was really warm on the cold night we had up there. When turning up the staff were really helpful and it's easy to find.
- Emma (7/5): Functional cabin with everything you need - Great set up, small rooms but had everything we required including fridge and small kitchen. Close to bathrooms which were very clean. Bedding not supplied but only cost $5 which we were fine with.
- Kaye (9/5): Our 10 yr old granddaughter absolutely loved sleeping in the mezzanine floor area of The Smithy -
- Crystal (9/5): -
- Willy (10/5): -
- Evelyn (6/5): We were underwhelmed by the industrial setting and smell in house but staff were friendly - cozy space. Big grass area outside. Everything we needed inside The description didn't note that the space had no doors and all beds were in one space. Beds were very soft and squeeky. Place had a strong smell
- Sutherland (5/5): -
- Nadine (7/5): - Great facilities, everything provided from cooking untensils to the bathroom amenities, and it's not too far from the town center (3min drive).
- MURRAY (9/5): great place for a short stay very quiet and not far from the township either - everything was clean and tidy had everything I need for my short stay plenty of outdoor seating to I thought the TV was to high where it was hurt my neck sometimes,
- Hashini (9/5): -
- Lian (10/5): -
- Ashleigh (10/5): - The carports were a nice touch

- Julie (8/5): Was happy that we could have our dog with us. - The units are fine, they are rustic but fine for us. Clean and tidy to stay in. The TV in the room didnāt work we like to keep up with the daily news.
- Chris (7/5): - Bathroom was clean with great shower. Very rural, nice setting. Comfortable beds You can't park next to your cabin so we had to carry everything in. You had to pay for WI-FI but there was little or no service a lot of the time..Cooker was very dated
- Niki (8/5): - Kitchenette in room
And secluded location
- Amy (7/5): - Great grounds, lots of area for the kids to enjoy
- Cheryl (10/5): It was wonderful to have a completely hassle free couple of days - Beautiful Walks right out your door It was perfect for me and the dogs
- susan (7/5): - I liked the position..next to forest
- Charles (5/5): Functional - Room wasv clean and functional A mell like a long dead rat retracted overall. Cold tap needed a new washer . Very hard to turn off
- Noverson (8/5): - Location Loud music from the neighbor
- Sophie (5/5): Alright. - Heater. Playground a bit rickety. Having to bring bedding. A cup of milk and a tea bag goes a long way, would feel way more welcoming.
- Edwin (5/5): - The facility is outdated. There is a sunroof in the room. It's too bright early in the morning in summer. I can't really get a good sleep.
The wall heaters are noisy, it's time for replacement. The heaters are on a one hour timer, you need to wake up every hour to activate them.
Beds are too soft for me.
- Denise (7/5): - Cute and homely
- Chase (3/5): - Distance Dirty bedsheet and kitchen stuff
- Estelle (8/5): Stay at Hanmer Springs - Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Wifi was listed as being available but one had to pay for it. Staff weren't too helpful.
- Sarah (10/5): - Clean, tidy, enough plates, cutlery, cups for kitchenette plus camp kitchen which was fully enclosed making it comfortable. Communal fridge freezer where your food items were respected.. Lovely location, quiet. Staff very friendly.
- Hayley (8/5): Great property, clean, happy - Great wee property, not to far from town, clean Couldnāt find the pool listed, or the free wifi
- Kere and Andrew (8/5): Meet our needs for a one night stay perfectly, could have stayed longer. - The lodge was a little out of town, but was a quiet, clean tidy and great place to stay with good facilities. I'd stay again. Comfortable, family atmosphere. Friendly staff.
- Ryan (6/5): -
- Lauren (7/5): -
- Menaz (7/5): It was good but it rained all night. So got cold at night. Kids were depressed about it - The location was remote so kind of peaceful if you want that. The top beds in the attic was uncomfortable. The pillows were too hard.
- jack (7/5): - Beautiful spot
- Clair (7/5): - Quiet location, good kitchen facilities. Uncomfortable beds. It was very hot and the supplied floor fan was ineffective. Had to keep windows closed overnight because of bugs.
- Hannah (6/5): Clean and tidy, was perfect for one night stay - Good value for money Was very hot with only a small fan to cool down
- marc (7/5): - Peaceful location Would be nice to know before booking that you need to either pay extra for bedding or bring your own
- Charles Winstone (8/5): -
- Bridget (10/5): Everything we needed. Comfortable mattress. Great price! - Everything we needed. Comfortable mattress. Great price!
- Natalie (8/5): - The property was simple, yet had everything we needed for a nights stay. The beds were comfy, the rooms had a kettle, basic utensils and a small fridge, which worked out well. Being able to bring the dog with us was also a bonus. There was a BBQ outside the room, which was great when sorting dinner. Shared facilities were clean and close to the rooms. The staff were super patient and flexible, as we were meant to be camping but changed to a cabin due to the weather. Thanks so much for having us, we appreciate it! N/A
- Julien (8/5): - Nice facilities in the Hanmer Forest. Everything you can expect from a family friendly campsite.
- Barry (7/5): Clean, comfortable accommodation - A clean, comfortable place with a well-equipped kitchen and amazing water pressure in the shower! It is a little way out of the Hanmer township itself so a car is necessary to access it.
- Gutschlag (10/5): Good time, good place, well ne back - Great stay, comfy beds, cool service, we will be back š Booking dot com didn't make it easy to see that linen isn't included
- steven (10/5): - I really enjoyed it I stayed in one of the little cabins wonderful facilities very clean the cabin was cute had a full kitchen and TV very warm toilet and shower facilities there very clean I really enjoyed it there and so quiet among the pine trees or definitely stay there when I have another tour
- Bajwa (10/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): - Really pretty location, play area for kids.
- Mese (10/5): - Very large space ,family space and close to everything.
- mclachlan (7/5): An affordable and very clean place to stay. They were happy to accommodate my wee dog. - Cost
- Kabita (8/5): -
- daniel (7/5): We really enjoyed our stay thank you - The cabins were cozy, warm and clean, even though the bathroom was shared it was a sheltered walk and close by. The location was peaceful and quiet and only a short drive to hamner springs pools. Maybe needs more utensils in the rooms
- Sophie (6/5): - Friendly staff Not very clean, sandfly issues in the apartments, need to provide your own bedding.
- Chelita (9/5): -
- philippa (10/5): -
- Dave (1/5): Never booking there again - Nothing Room was musty old and tired
- Mark (6/5): -
- Liz (8/5): - Really cost effective
- June Dahlia (10/5): Creating memories that will last a lifetime - The campground apartments were great! Clean, tidy and affordable. We made a special request for a few kind words for a birthday. The campground went above and beyond!!! We were absolutely blown away the cabin was warm and inviting upon first entrance and they had put a beautiful sparkly birthday banner across one of the beds! It was such a lovely personable touch that my friend carefully folded it up the keep and treasure for ever! Thank you so so much to the effort you went too, to make our trip special and a wonderful retreat away from home to remember. Will definitely be back again. I wish there was more availability so we could have stayed longer š unfortunately they were fully booked for the Saturday night otherwise we would have booked Saturday night and Sunday night! š The price was extremely affordable definitely hard to beat
- Shona (7/5): I think for younger people on budget its Ok - you got what you paid for. - The kitchen and bathroom were clean, and sheets were on beds. The place just seemed a bit tired and run down. Stairs to upstairs beds were dangerous for little people. Lack of lightbulbs in light fittings was a bit annoying and no privacy in bathroom unless you forced the wooden blind down.
- ANNA (1/5): we stayed elsewhere - room stunk of urine, got one old manky sheet and duvet per bed
- Tania (1/5): We didnāt even stay it was too disgusting - We couldnāt even stay there and had to find somewhere else.
It was gross, smelly, blankets and room smelt mouldy, bathrooms were dirty and flooded.
It was disgusting.
- Justin (7/5): - Really handy to where we needed to be. Nice and quiet The hot water in our room run out
- Don (10/5): Awesome retreat - The peace and quiet and also the rustic look and feel of the place.
- Quentin (8/5): -
- Robert (7/5): Enjoyable - Location was good , comfortable cabins , heating could have been better Heating
- Jocelyn (7/5): Good -
- Jon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Erwin (10/5): enjoy and willing to comeback - nice place for relaxation nothing
- Atigi (8/5): Very good - We liked having our own little fridge, oven, kitchen utensils and cutleries, water jug, table and chairs and little mirror to use We didn't like the bunk it made a lot of noise every time a person moves and we preferred having another bed than a bunk but I guess it depends on the space of the room
- Kim (6/5): My Whanau enjoyed our stay - The accommodation, was a older place than we are used to , but normal for what we paid ,
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Sonya (5/5): Passable - Very dated, needs good tidy up rooms ok for price
