Guest Reviews
- Hu (1/5): -
- SUVASMITA (3/5): Spacious room but needs more maintenance - Availability The sign board was broken so we were lost in the evening trying to find motel. Microwave was broken so had a lot of trouble with little infant, couldn’t even heat food to feed Bub. Need more lighting at night & some prior heating of the room before check In would’ve been helpful
- Emily (10/5): - The staff were awesome! Super accommodating and so easy to check in. Lovely rooms in a beautiful location!
- Max (8/5): -
- Damien (10/5): Over night stay - Great little get away place for couple who want to visit the area. Simple and very easy check in. The room was very well heated. Spewing the pub at the front was closed due to renovations.
- Amar (1/5): Pathetic experience, with no towel, hygeine support, just 1 light in room, over and above NO WIFI !! - Only good thing was our booking was confirmed through booking.com
Rest all was not at all worthy. No option to give ZERO stars Deserves Zero stars...
Room condition not good at all.
Only 1 main light in the living room (lack of additional lights when coming with family)
No change or towels, bed sheets for 2 nights stay. And were total 5 families having total 5 rooms !!
No WIFI service !!!! Being located in mountains and in the internet age, there was no WIFI Service at all. How can one have hotel/motel without WIFI service... 0 Stars in total !
Not enough space for all car parks.
- Renee (7/5): Good location. No onsite restaurant as advertised. - Location The was no restaurant. Why had booking.com not been updated to speak about the renovations?
- Mark (8/5): Very comfortable stay. -
- Vesa (7/5): - A small motel in a little nice town. Friendly and helpful staff. No kitchenette.
- Nick (7/5): -
- DARREN (10/5): - The place was spotless and welcoming. The site Manager was really helpful and accomadating. A great example of a classic era of design magnificently maintained. Great value for money we will be back
- Seb (8/5): Great family stay, highly recommend - Our little family enjoyed our stay, we were staying in Harrietville with a large group of friends and this was a great location. We were very impressed by Chris the manager, he was super friendly and accommodating.
- Chloe (5/5): - Didn’t appreciate the smell of urine in our room when we turned on the heater. Couldn’t pick where it was coming from, but whenever we turned on the heater that’s all we could smell. Shower also had mould.
- John (8/5): -
- JOHN (9/5): Comfortable and suited our needs - Nice and quiet
The manager Chris was great Parking was a bit of a challenge
- Marg (7/5): Fine for a night or two - Reasonable accommodation at a reasonable price for an overnight stay. Clean comfortable rooms
- mega blaster (8/5): Perfectly fine and relaxing. - Known the place for years - 1st time staying there. Comfortable, clean, good water pressure in the shower and a great spot for a morning coffee across the road. Perfect base for the motorcycle loops through the north east & alpine roads.
- Wendy (7/5): -
- Kayleen (9/5): - Liked it all
- Joanne (6/5): - Convenience clean
- Vio (9/5): -
- Margrethe (10/5): - Clean No wifi
- Shane (8/5): Good place to stay - Location, clean and comfy a d easy walking to the pub
- Derek (4/5): Lovely location. - The place was in a nice setting. Although understanding that the hotel is undergoing renovations it was disappointing that the motel section did not come up to standard. There were only 2 cups and glasses and 2 teaspoons available. There were no bowls or plates or cutlery for the use of breakfast, so we had to go to the opp shop to purchase these.
Towels were changed at half stay, but were left outside in a bag. This is not our experience from the amount of travelling we have done. This needs attention.
- Chris (10/5): Great value - Phil was great and the rooms were as expected for the price . Tired but clean

- Peter (7/5): It was handy and clean. I will stay there again next year and look forward to the impact of the renovations. - The location is beautiful. The WiFi was not working due to the renovations. As I was attending the Harrietville Music Camp I was counting on an internet connection. Fortunately I got by with my phone. I did get an apology so it was fine.
- Kate (7/5): -
- Teresa (5/5): The manager was very helpful and informative 👍 - We did not stayed because we been scared of the fire 🔥 😳 we left the room after 2 hours stay . Not air-conditioning, at this day was40°C
- Will (8/5): Great for a stopover - Perfect location for us, easy check in One of the towels had holes
- matt (1/5): Could not stay - Nothing had to find somewhere else On a 40 degree day, no air conditioning, room 40 degrees, had to go elsewhere
- Hieu (8/5): -
- Danielle (7/5): - Good value for money, self service access Not a bad thing but just an fyi, there’s renovations there and no reception. I didn’t have any issues during my stay and they provide a mobile number to call so all good
- Stephen (4/5): - Disappointing that the 4th bed was not useable due to it being filthy so had to have two of us share a single bed. Also, the bar & restaurant/hotel is closed permanently even though it’s shown in the description & photos.
- Palinda (10/5): -
- Ming hwang (3/5): -
- xin (10/5): -
- Chandrika (8/5): - Clean and calm Did not have electricity when we arrived. From 4.40 pm to 8.40 pm
- Suresh Beniwal (7/5): - It's neat and clan
- Amanda (6/5): Nice motel. - Great little place to stay whilst exploring the area. Comfortable and clean. Easy parking. The heater struggled to warm the room.
Can be noisey - no soundproofing between rooms.
- Tashi (5/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): -
- michael (8/5): - Harrisville is a beautiful tranquil place. Unfortunately the food/drinks/bar part of the venue was closed for renovationd
- Michael (8/5): Excellent value for money - Simple, clean, no frills. Good location, quiet, comfortable bed Floor/carpet getting a bit old, stained
- Justine (6/5): -
- Grant (7/5): -
- Etienne (10/5): -
- Jack (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Value for money but with caution - Value for money No staff to greet you at the reception, the key was already in the door and that means someone could already be in your room.
- Ashish (7/5): -
- Henry (6/5): Cheap and Cheery - We headed to the Bright Rod Run this year so it was good to be able to get a hotel with only 1 months notice. I knew it would be 'cheap and cheery' and yes it was just that. Room was spacious enough for a family of 4 although we would have liked another doona for the trundle bed. I think a new mattress is probably in order as well. Room was clean enough and had what was expected, microwave, kettle and basic amenities. Shower was nice and hot on a cold day. They also let us bring our puppy so get bonus points for that. The carpet is a bit worn and actually doesnt butt up to the edge of the skirting board beside the bed so had to be careful not to stand on the nail strip. The on site pub was also closed for renovations(which we knew) so we are looking forward to heading back once its open I think thats a good drawcard.
Area is nice and quiet enough. No Wifi which I didnt realise and needed for work but not a massive drama. Kept kids off tech when we were in the room.
Bit worn and dated but it is what we expected.
- Brett (8/5): Great value - The room was the cleanest its been and I have stayed many times, Phil and Carmel did a wonderful job Parking layout is a problem if you are late back to your room as there are no dedicated parks for each room
- Anita (6/5): . - It was warm in a wet night No wifi or smart TV.
Musty smell
- Caroline (10/5): -
- Tim Travels (9/5): - The place is in a beautiful part of Victoria with lots to see and do. The room was not expensive and had everything we needed. The pub was closed as we were there on a Monday night but the Mexican restaurant next door was great. The self check in worked well because of the very friendly and helpful cleaner but it would be nice to meet the owners/manager when checking in to learn about what the town has to offer.
- Sylvia (9/5): - Quiet, comfortable and clean. Stayed before and will stay again. All was good Ty.
- Sean (10/5): Had a good stay, the staff were great in meeting our needs. - The property is conveniently located near the pub and is at the foot of Mt Hotham.
- exTravelguy (5/5): It's disappointing for the price. - Bed was OK. Shower was hot. Room was clean No WiFi available.
Not advised the adjoining hotel/restaurant was closed. Very expensive for the limited facilities available.
No bedside lights
Payment was taken weeks in advance for what reason?
Ski season was over, so there is no need for this
Sorry, but I could not recommend this property. Suggest staying in Bright instead
- Sharon (10/5): Great value for money, easy access, clean and comfy and got to summit Feathertop with snow - Close to my start of trail. I love this area here’ a lot hiking and trail running. Room was quiet and had a great sleep and hot shower!! Can’t wait for the pub to be back open
- Katrina (7/5): Adequate and thankful for a cheap place to stay. - It’s good, cheap option for pit stop before the snow. Lighting, needed a lamp for when in bed. Didnt feel cosy.
- Ravinder (10/5): - Excellent mountain views and friendly staff.

- Gibellini (9/5): Easy check in. Modest off mountain Accomodation - Ease of access to mt hotham Tv remote not working
- Helen Marie (4/5): Need ro speed up the renovation of the pub, so people dont need to drive to bright for food. - Nearest to mt Hotham Old, cold, not enough heating to warm the place, no toaster.
Cooking was strictly prohibited.
Not many places to dine at night.
We drove to Bright to get food.
- andrew (2/5): -
- Cathy (8/5): -
- Banduka (8/5): Nice place near Mount Hotham - Very convenient location if you are going up to Mount Hotham. It was clean and met all our expectations to the price we paid. Great value for money, and I would come back.
- Richardson (5/5): - The adjoining pub was closed for renovations and that was not disclosed when we booked
The room was cold
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- sartaj (9/5): -
- Meng (1/5): -
- Ben (10/5): -
- Jett (1/5): Very very cold! - Sheets/beds were clean Absolutely no heating whatsoever, woke up multiple times during the night absolutely freezing. Heater did NOT work at all. Heated blanket on double bed only worked on one side and chain lock on the back of the door did not work.
- Larry (6/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Have stayed many times, will be back -
- Jeihan (8/5): - I like that it’s only 30/40 mins away from mt hotham. It was clean and warm inside, the area is quite and beautiful as well
- vijay (10/5): -
- Renae (8/5): -
- Girlie (5/5): Good enough but bed needs fixing - We stayed in Room 2 for 2 nights, we are a group of 4.
The hotel location is easy to find.
Check in and out process is hassle free.
Heated blanket is perfect. - The lower bunk bed in Room#2, the one on the right, is broken and squeaking everytime you move. It is annoyingly loud that we were not able to sleep well on our first night. We put the mattress down the floor on the 2nd night, that's the only solution we could think of. Hopefully they fix it soon.
- Room a little dark because there's only one light
- No hair dyer
- Not enough toiletries provided, e.g. only 2 soaps for a room good for 6 people
- paul (7/5): -
- Yair (8/5): Great stay before the snow - Clean and spacious room, with comfortable bed and easy parking access and check in. The heater was a bit confusing.
