Guest Reviews
- Adinashriq (10/5): - Very good pub
- Panagoula (9/5): Nicely refurbished, spacious and spotless motel, and good value for money! - The property was newly refurbished, very spacious and clean. We could park right out the front of our room which was a bonus! You could hear the people and cars passing our room, however this was not a major issue. You can always wear ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. The pillows were quite high which was great for watching tv in bed, however made it harder for us to sleep on them.
- Brad (8/5): Nice get-away at friendly pub - Comfortable room, good food, friendly staff Room close to noisey smokers area.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- mogms (8/5): -
- Bruce (9/5): Great accommodation. - Multiple beds suited the two of us very well and other motels were booked out or only had one bed. Excellent facilities in the unit. Nothing to note.
- Rosemary (4/5): Disappointing. As a Garsed I came to walk down Garsed St in Bendigo. - The fact it was advertised as a hotel and wasn't. The photos on the web site definitely didn't match the rooms I was given. I didn't see another person there for my 2 night stay staff or otherwise. had to check myself in by a lock box which was difficult to open. I'm elderly and felt rather lonely with not a soul around.
Also it was quite a way out of town to walk to with no option but to walk back to town for food etc.
The morning I left everything was still locked up with no one around so I couldnt pay for my 2 night stay. Didn't want to leave cash. It was reported to Booking.com that I had not paid.
If the host knew they would be closed over the Easter break they should never have taken my booking.
- Kevin (8/5): Enjoyable time, character filled bar area, excellent food and not too far from shopping centre. -
- Evan (10/5): Great place to stay and I will be back...for sure - The room was very good...great shower and the bed was fantastic. The bar was a fantastic Irish bar and I met the owners. They were so friendly. The staff were also great. Loved to have a chat. And the food I loved. I was a bit boring and had the Steak Sanga one night and the Chicken Snit Sanga the other. Both were fantastic. Highly recomment and I will be back. Nothing to complain about here.
- Linda (10/5): - Great location great pub Nothing
- Connie (8/5): 2 bedroom unit easily accessible and met all needs - Appreciated the early check in (we arrived around 12pm), the portacot which was available for hire and space was great for our family of 3. Also having the restaurant next door was great (food was amazing there too). Close to Bendigo station which was good as we took the vline.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Curtain (10/5): A short overnight stay while attending a family party. This room was perfect for what we needed. -
- Christian (7/5): -
- Nadine (8/5): A really nice venue. Value for money. Great location and great staff. - Really friendly helpful staff. Nice amenities. The sofa bed clashed with the door due to a lack of room however we appreciated the sofa bed option.
- Jackie (10/5): A very comfortable stay at Brougham Arms. Loved we had the Irish Pub and good restaurant next door. - We stayed 3 night. We loved the huge amount of bench space in the room and the large vanity in the bathroom with a drawer below. The fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster, tea, coffee cups are all hidden behind faux drawers on the left of the room. There were plenty of dishes for us to make our own breakfast. There are also extra drawers and a dresser on the right of the room so plenty of drawers. Also a couch. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Room was very warm and cosy even with no heating and on one of the coldest nights of the year. Heating when we used it was quiet. Beds were comfortable, and the bedding felt new, and nicely fresh and crisp. We worried the Irish Pub next to us would be noisy, but never disturbed me although my hubby heard a bit of noise on Friday night. We had a nice meal there and dropped in for drinks each night. Very welcoming. Loved all the Irish theme. Checkin is inside the pub, so we didn't get to interact much with the staff. I left some clothes in a drawer and they were so good to post them back to me without payment, although I will transfer the $15 back to them (thanks Melodye). A short few minutes drive or a 1km walk to the main tourist area. We were there for a Bowls Championship and it was just a few minutes drive to the East Bendigo Bowls Club. Our only surprise was that the TV wasn't a Smart TV so we couldn't stream. We carry a Firestick with us just in case, but as the smallish TV is wall mounted too close to the wall, we couldn't access the HDMI to plug it in so no streaming. Panic!! It actually worked like a bit of a detox so maybe not a bad thing.
- Roslyn (7/5): Lucky we were only staying for 1 night - Clean and comfortable Late night noise from the adjacent hotel
- howard (8/5): Enjoyed the time there and it ticked the boxes in terms of the basics and proximity to rail station - The cleanliness and quality of the bed Maybe 'Motel' instead of 'Hotel' should have been the more accurate description
- Mark (9/5): very enjoyable and have booked in again for next visit - The accommodation was very clean and met my expectations.
The restaurant is great, the food was lovely and the Guinness was superb.
- WARWICK (5/5): - Great tavern attached Mix up with payment
- Glen (8/5): -
- Susan (5/5): - Very accomodating with a request. The kitchenette was a microwave only. Nothing to clean dishes (that were supplied) with.
- Mick (6/5): Basic but convenient - Convenient with the restaurant Cleaning could be a little more precise, shower head sprays water to the roof as a seal is gone. Cobwebs, and the room smells a bit of urine.
- Yvonne (8/5): Nice 2-bedroom unit, close to the main shopping area of Bendigo - Accommodation was right next to the hotel - serving great food. Unit was clean, large bathroom & good-sized bedrooms. The outdoor area off the lounge area
- wendy (10/5): -
- Julia (8/5): Stayed with them before. - Well located. Friendly staff. Great meals. Nothing.
- Ruth (5/5): It was okay for one night - Car park out the front of your room Room is very old and outdated inside. We asked for a fold out sofa to be made up when we got there. It wasn’t and no spare tower so we had to organise other arrangements.
- Bec (7/5): overall was good, would stay again, room was good value - large , comfortable, felt private shower needs a good scrub,. 2 bedroom apt has a large kitchen but no appliances other than a kettle toaster and microwave. a hot plate and pans or electric oven would have been great to reheat pizza or cook. courtyard has some junk stored in it
- Helen (9/5): Highly recommended for value for money. - Nicely renovated room. Very comfortable and clean. Hotel next door but quiet. A few gaps letting light in from blind. A minor issue though.
- Shaun (10/5): -
- Carolyn (10/5): - Loved the convenience of pub next door. The meals and atmosphere were great. The beds were comfy and bathroom was beautifully refurbished. Would happily stay again. No problems at all.
- Neville (7/5): Reasonable stay, but if noise issue cannot be resolved would not stay there again or recommend. - Spacious room, good bathroom Wooden bench in room had peeling paintwork & looked shabby!
Biggest problem was noise all night & in the morning which was disturbing & resulted in lack of sleep - it seemed like it was coming from the neighbouring room or behind the building. It was a fluctuating sound for about 3 minutes, then nothing for a couple of minutes continuously. I thught it might have been from an airconditioning unit or a pump?????
- Parker (8/5): - Close to our venue Beds could have had a mattress topper to make them more comfy
- Robbie (10/5): - It's was a nice pub not far from the main strip of town. Unit was nice size for price very clean Nothing
- Kylie (2/5): If you value sleep, don’t stay here. - Not much unfortunately If you value sleep, don’t stay here. The pub/bar smoking area is outside the hotel rooms. No monitoring of noise until midnight Fri and Saturday, 11pm Mon-thur. so no sleep till restaurant and bar close. Also, smoke smell enters room, despite closed windows and doors.
Room was not very clean and couch stained and smelly.
- Margaret (9/5): - Very comfortable
- Bernadette (8/5): -
- AnAn (8/5): -
- Tim (5/5): - The facilities were very clean and the staff member who got me organised was great. The shower had a leak in the head. My main complaint is that their was lots of noise from hotel patrons who were outside when my wife and I were trying to get to sleep on both nights which was disappointing.
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Marie-Louise and Anthony (8/5): Pleasantly surprised by the newly refurbished rooms - clean & comfortable. - Nicely refurbished - clean & comfortable
- Shannon (8/5): - - Staff super friendly and helpful
- Location was close to where we needed Carpark was very tight
- Dennis Perera (4/5): The cleanliness of the property is poor and does not meet basic standards. - It was a two bedroom unit with a combined dining and lounge room, as well as outdoor areas. It was a good size compared to other motor inn motels.
Staff is friendly and supportive response to my concern regarding the dirty bed sheets as they have provided me with some extra clean sheets. The cleanliness of the property is poor and does not meet basic standards. Upon arrival, we found that the bed sheets had not been changed, there was hair and yellow staining present on the linens. Furthermore, the bathroom shower has visible mould in the tiles and there is a significant build up of dust on the fans and most surfaces. We also discovered dirt under the beds and the sofa, which itself was very dirty.
In addition to these hygiene issues, we have serious safety concerns. The front door can be easily opened by children, providing immediate access to the driveway and the main road. This poses a significant risk for a family with young kids.
Families with kids can be quite challenging and we have found that many other accommodations are able to offer just one hour late check out to assist with this but this place charge extra just for 1hr.
The property is more of a motel than the hotel that was advertised.
- Jenny (10/5): I'll be back to stay for weekends to listen to the music sessions. - A large room and bathroom with excellent facilities. Fridge, toaster, microwave and utensils supplied. Live music in the pub and a good menu at the restaurant. A popular place for the locals but not too noisy in the guest rooms.
- Jasmina (7/5): We had high expectations after seeing the accommodation but it didn’t live up to them. - The room and bathroom was nice and the restaurant next door is very convenient The room was advertised as a ‘twin’ with a pull out bed. The pull out bed was uncomfortable and when pulled out you couldn’t open the outside door!
The room was also very musty and had to be sited out with door open and fan on before it became comfortable enough to be in.
- Kaye (10/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable - Good, clean, comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff. It’s a little noisy with the road right outside the windows of the 2 bedroom apartment.
- jade (8/5): Very happy thanks. - This motel was surprisingly quiet despite being part of an Irish Pub. The bed was so comfortable. Good central location. Nothing. Was great.
- Jackson (6/5): Ok - Restaurant and bar along with staff weee fantastic The rooms look nice however certainly could do with an upgrade of new beds and smart tv along with better internet connectivity
- Shannon (10/5): - Great-sized rooms with comfy beds and clean facilities. Fantastic location close to town and right next to the pub, which has great meals and wonderful customer service. Would happily stay again!
- Mark (8/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Gabrielle (7/5): - Location and value for money. Good sized apartment for the price Unfortunately there was a musty smell throughout the place. It’s a little tried but good for a short stay
- Peter (9/5): -
- Corey (9/5): Great location, great accommodation, great weekend. - It has all that we need for a great girls weekend away.
- Anthea (8/5): My Go-to when travelling through Bendigo - This place is my go-to accommodation if I am traveling through Bendigo. As a female who travels for work this place feels super safe, staff are great, great pub and food. The rooms are such good value for the price, clean and comfortable. Check out the menu and make sure you book the restaurant as it is a locals favourite.
- Stephanie (8/5): Simply a very cosy rest. Thanks! - The bed was so so comfy. I was so happy that I booked this motel. Very comfy and clean Tea making facilities
- Barb (8/5): -
- Jeffrey (7/5): -
- Jocelyn (7/5): -
- Joan (7/5): Good place for overnight stays. - No breakfast. But very good dining . Very slippery bathroom and shower floor tiles !!
Nearly slipped over.
- Kathy (9/5): -
- Susan (9/5): - Modern (inside) and clean accommodation with a newly refurbished bathroom. The adjacent hotel is great for a drink and a good meal too. Highly recommend. Pillows were very high - but often the case at most motel/hotels.
- Heather (10/5): Fun, convenient,friendly ,comfortable - Convenient
- Le (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. - The rooms were above our expectations with roomy bathroom, kitchen and lounge/sitting room. Would be perfect to have a bedside lamps.
- Belinda (8/5): All you need for an easy and comfortable stay - Apartment with all you need and a great pub for food onsite. Redone with style.
- Salti60 (10/5): - Excellent care and service. Very friendly.
- Andrew (8/5): Good accommodation and decent food. - Room was clean and bed comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was a decent pub meal. Staff were pleasant.
- Will (8/5): -
- Brown (8/5): Suited our needs perfectly. - We had dinner in the restaurant, and the food was excellent, as was the service and friendliness of the staff. The room was very comfortable with a clean and modern bathroom. We hope to stay here again.
- Daniel (10/5): Enjoyed our single night stay. Will definitely stay there again in the future - Close to the CBD. Main bedroom didn’t have a tv in it.
- Duffett (10/5): Fantastic - No breakfast facilities, but provided my own using the kitchen equipment No Breakfast
- Chin (8/5): good - restaurant
- Vincenza lombardi (8/5): -
- Nicole (8/5): -
- Clyde (6/5): -
- Maria Abegail (8/5): -
- Bianca (8/5): -
- Browning (8/5): - Close to main part of Geelong
Very quiet No microwave
No small table
- Anne-Marie (7/5): Good value for money. Clean and comfortable - Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good value for money
- Linda (4/5): The scratched wooden furniture and grimmy covers on the lounge just created a whole "ick" feeling, - convenent location the furnishings need cleaning, I did not want to sit on the lounge as the covers were so grimmy
- Jodi (8/5): -
- Doris (8/5): Super convenient -
- Anthony (9/5): Friendly, convenient with spacious facilities - Great twin room with plenty of room - kitchen, living area, etc.
Location next to the "pub" was great - and not loud. Pub was very friendly and good food.
Overall location was close to town centre
- Jenny (8/5): -
- Bennett (8/5): Great - It just had a lovely atmosphere
- Lynette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jesslyn (4/5): Would have been nice if not for lack of weather sealing leading to very cold drafts. - There was a loud banging noise from a loose bit of fencing, staff member came to fix the issue. Nice modern apartment with modern bathroom. Water pressure was excellent. The glass door to the courtyard desperately needs weather sealing. Since it had been raining all day, and with the wind and rain leaking through that door, the apartment was frigid and did not really warm up at all.
- Traci (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place to stay in Bendigo.
- Joanna (10/5): - Service was great. They catered so welcomeing to a few requests. Beds were nice however we are used to different mattresses.
- Andypakenham (8/5): Good little place to stay in the heart of Bendigo. - The room was very quiet and well removed from the pub environment. The bed was comfy and heating was good. There was no issues with this place and all was good.
- Elaine (8/5): - Quiet, clean and convenient location. Excellent meal in restaurant and atmosphere in Irish Bar.
- Donna (7/5): Great for the price, good location, quick drive into town and pub meal at your fingertips. - I liked the convenience of restaurant and bar/pub and the quiet location. Room sofa was grubby and didn't want to use it. However the room and bathroom was very clean.
- Sally (9/5): Highly recommend for overall short or long stay - Location was walking distance to CBD.
Rooms were well furnished and kept maintained.
Dining experience was excellent.
Staff friendly and accommodating.
Meals generous and value for money.
Gluten free options was a bonus.
- William (5/5): Ok - Location and staff Very noisy, people throwing bottles in skips when you’re in bed and woken up at 6 am on a Sunday by loud noises
- Shae (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melanie (10/5): Excellent accommodation - The Brougham Arms Hotel is away from the busyness of the city centre but still close enough to access the great restaurants and activities. It also has a restaurant on site. The bed was extremely comfortable and warm. My only critic is better security on the doors like an additional chain latch.
- Rose (8/5): A very friendly and welcoming option in central Bendigo - The Brougham Arms Hotel is a very friendly place where the staff went out of their way to assist me with luggage and were very welcoming. The location is good - very close to the railway station and easy walking distance to the town centre. You can walk across to the hotel restaurant which has a good menu. The room was comfortable and well thought out - I liked the secret fridge/kettle behind the faux shelves. It's a fairly small car park outside the rooms, so the cars do park closeby - which drivers would appreciate. There was a little bit of noise from the pub as it was a Friday night, but not much. A sign to mark where the reception was from the rooms would have been helpful.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome Irish pub. I ate form the Irish menu everyday. Staff where great especially the cute girl with Glasses behind the bar 😉 Room had a slight smell of smoke
- Elizabeth (8/5): Excellent - The staff were brilliantly friendly and caring. The bed was so comfy and we slept so well in it. The food was good bang for buck and tasted amazing. The car park was a little tight for a bigger car. We struggled to find the reception for motel. The shower felt a bit like falling into a hole, perhaps a non slip mat option. We couldn't find the switch for the bathroom fan.
- Dilruba (9/5): Superb - Very cosy room.
