Guest Reviews
- Danny (3/5): Not recommended - Nothing It's a motel with homeless clientele and the room stunk. Tv didn't even work
- Fabien (8/5): - La proximité avec les commerces, la localisation
- Brown (1/5): - Are you kidding 😳. Plain English it was a SHIT BOX! Wouldn't recommend it to family or friends. None of it! Place had HOLES on the wall, chair was hiding the holes shower was disgusting . Room looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly. No bathroom mats, a tea towel that was so badly stained he should of been thrown out...my goodness never ever again. DISGUSTING PLACE!!!!!

- c j (5/5): Takanini - The friendly staff The noise from the neighbouring tenants
- Nina (8/5): - Close to stores and Bruce Pullman Park.
We're very helpful and reasonable with early check in's, very very grateful and appreciate the service. All was good considering it was last min booking.

- Bobby (6/5): Lovely Host and hospitable.Room Good. - Clean host was lovely. Gave us clean towels everyday of our stay with toilet paper and rubbish bag . Helped us with the stove top as we did not know the layout of starting it. Made sure we had everything.
Room was comfortable. Shower was lovely and had good pressure.. kitchenette a good size for stove top cooking.
Parking outside for 1 car was ok.
Great location for everything as it's smack dab in the middle of papakura and Takanini with Manurewa down the Rd.
Close to the places I like Bed was okay though it was slightly hard for my back and my partner but other then that okay.
Nothing else to report about this one.
- Heinz (8/5): -
- Clive (4/5): - Location good
Staff good
Room size good Day one, no power
Bathroom doors didn't lock
Very run down
No sky tv
No good for older people (65+)
- Nathan (7/5): - Was in a handy location It was a little run down but ok for the one I stayed there
- chandi (1/5): Worst experience. - Nothing. Very poor experience. The room and bed sheets were dirty, a power outlet wasn’t working, and the hot water stopped. There were also not enough utensils provided in the kitchen. To make things worse, the power was turned off around 9:45 AM without notice, which was especially difficult as we were travelling with a 6-month-old baby. Would not stay here again.
- Eseta (5/5): Lovely staff. Great location but cleanliness needs a lot of work please - The staff were lovely and met our every need. We were given fresh towels. The cleanliness wasn’t the greatest 😔 when I went to vacuum the floor I found pie crumbs still by the couch from the last person (we didn’t even eat any pies at all). I also found a shoe and a toy under the bed from the last people that were there. On our last night we also found bloody on the sheets at the part that was tucked under 🤮
- Stanley (10/5): Easy to find and close to shops. - Just right for 2 adults and 4 children. Enough beds for us all. Plenty of towels. Plenty of plates, cups and glasses. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Lounge was big enough for us all. It was a great place to stay and handy to drive to Kawakawa Bay early in the morning. Nothing at all. The children loved the place too.
- LEALOFI (9/5): -
- James (4/5): - The staff were very friendly. And it was close to the venue that we needed to be at for the duration of our stay Im not to sure if this accommodation is used for emergency housing but the people staying next to us were fighting all night the first 2 night we were there it was quite scary.
- Sonya (7/5): -
- Nik (5/5): Facilities/rooms are due for a renovation - pay that extra $ and find somewhere else to stay - Location was great and staff were friendly. Facilities are due for an upgrade, our room and furniture were very worn and the power points looked like they were going to fall out or didn't work. We could hear the guests in the next room (unit 18) who were super loud, had doors opening and closing all hours of the day/night and could hear them talking. If you are assigned to unit 17 ask to change rooms because you won't get any sleep if there are guests in the next unit (unit 18).
- Ethan (1/5): Overall I paid close to $900 for something that was not worth it, pillows were stained, the toilet kept blocked, the bed - It was close to where we needed to be In all honesty everything, rooms smelt disgusting, toilet kept blocked up 3 times and I told the owners they come to inspect it, but told us it could be the kids putting things doe the toilet. One we don’t even have kids with us it was all adults. 4th time it blocked we were moved to a new room which was fine.
- May (10/5): -
- Akuhata & Ofaligi (5/5): - Spacious but Run down needs more love put into it
- Marie (3/5): Not a place I would recommend - Location The room was so out dated..... covers on the beds were strained, cob webs and spiders everywhere, freezer box in fridge was completely iced over, carpet was torn and frayed, not enough lighting in bathroom had to leave shower curtain open or it was to dark, curtains were to small and didn't close fully, mice poo on top of the hot water cylinder and rubbish all around the cylinder, water pressure was atrocious, no wine glasses, bed was hard as rock, broken security locks on the windows so couldn't leave them open at night or when going out, sofa was broken, tv remote battery cover was broken and kept falling off, had to wash dishes in the vanity sink, old shavers left in the shower and shower soap dish was caked with soap
To be honest....there was nothing to like about my room 😒 I will never go back there again, this place needs a complete revamp in my opinion, discussing.
- allanah (3/5): We stay there as the location was good but other than that we wouldnt stay there again. - Shower floor was rotten and on a lean, felt like one wrong move and it would have given way. It wasnt clean and the pool was unavailable
- Sana (7/5): It was great. - It had everything i need. I was hoping the pool will be open for the guest.
- Sana (8/5): Very comfortable, friendly staff and great location - The location everything i need was nearby. Wish the pool was open
- Mervyn (1/5): Felt like we where in unkempt accomdation - We didnt The whole experience broken furniture not enough dishes for the amount of people hardly any water coming out of shower
- Tony (7/5): Pros vs Cons - The beds and couch were comfy, and there was lots of space in the lounge for my kids to play. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
The air con was very good, especially in the heat. The furniture in the lounge was easily moveable. The pool was closed (it's mid-feb). The kitchen is cramped, and you couldn't access the draws in one of the rooms. The bathroom is small.
The floor wasn't cleaned properly, and the vacuum suction wasn't very good. This was only a problem because my daughter is at the stage of eating any thing off the ground.
- Cheirean (3/5): - The staff went out of there way yo add another bed into our room and the beds were very comfortable Well the toilet in room 6 didn't fullup to flush the shower wall down the bottom was broken apart and the floor to the shower wasn't that's safe it moved so had to stand in one spot and hope it didn't move
- CJ Savage (10/5): - Clean, affordable and staff was awesome Pool wasn't open and we didn't know where the playground was.
- Don (2/5): Awful. - The motel was close to what we needed. Old & dated. Grimy & unpleasant. Curtains in the lounge which were falling off the runner tape & on the kitchen windows had no blackout curtains so room was quite bright overnight. We booked & paid for a studio with aircon but the studio we were given had no aircon.. Not all studios have aircon so please confirm aircon is available. We were asked to pay extra for what we had paid for in the first place when they relocated us to a room with aircon. Our original room had wall sections which were unpainted. It’s as if the owners have no idea.
- Rupene (2/5): -
- Paul (3/5): - Staff Hard beds..old need throwing out and replacing. Top of fridge was filthy.
- Siti Noor Alida (9/5): Family with 2teens - Good location, comfortable stay room & bed(2bedroom). Spacious, Have living/dinning area, kitchen & cooking stuff Everything just fine. Shops nearby. Friendly & helpfull staff. Stay for 11day, Will come again & recommend to friend. Just a shower water pressure slow.
- Luafata (9/5): - Excellent overall
- Jugraj (1/5): Never coming back - Nothing very bad experienc Nothing good about this place,
- Miriam (4/5): As I say the lady was lovely and the location was great but there is room for improvement. - The lady who runs the property was very good and always helpful with anything that was required. She was a very friendly lady as well. To be honest the rooms needed a clean I feel as it wasn't very clean when we arrived. The curtains need to be block out as the outside light was bad and made it hard to sleep. We also had to ask for a few things that for some reason weren't in the room and I don't think people should be charged to use the washing machine with the amount of money already outlaid for the booking of the premises.

- Leuatea (6/5): - I like the rooms, it has everything that family needs. The location was handy to everything. The dishes were not cleaned. Please advise your staff to make sure they use a sponge and soap to clean the dishes properly. Flannels should be provided as well for the showers and face towels.
- Lewis (5/5): - The closeness to motorway. The noise from other guest.
- Jacko (10/5): - Close to the venue Beds were hard, pool was unavailable
- Georgina (6/5): As we only needed to sleep in it we were happy the beds were clean and comfortable. - The living area and beds was clean and comfortable and the owners/managers were helpful The place was very tired and needs a real spruce up. The bathroom was as clean as it could be but the shower had rust around the bottom - needs a new base, the whole bathroom needs renewing. I didnt like the only sink being in the bathroom and I think having an induction cooktop is silly in a motel - most people do not know how to look after them and this particular one took up most of the bench top and made it very difficult not to put things on it. The small freezer part of the fridge was full of ice so we could not put our freezer pads in. Curtains torn in the lounge.
Even for the price I think a little more effort could be made to make it more inviting.
- Paula (4/5): average - Good location Unusable chair
Too noisy
Desk lighting inadequate for working
- Daniel (5/5): -
- bridget (1/5): Needs upgrading. - Location was prefect where the tournament was. Noisey traffic can’t sleep, smells musty, sure has bedbugs scratching all night.
- Dave Wyness (7/5): -
- Mandy (6/5): What we expected for price and photos - Yay for fan!!! I wish we could have opened the windows but the bugs were coming in. We got so hot! The toilet made an awful sound and pillows were terrible
- Graham (3/5): Very disapointing - Not a lot. Ok for overnite. Stay. Was cleab enough Traffic noise. Old show in a a bath tub. No safety grab rails. And the. Overall lack of maintenance on buildings and grounds
- Ray (8/5): Good service, clean room, and the use of cooking and eating utensils. - The location to Bruce Pullman park.. The access time to the laundry....Summer hours. And, the photocopying of my drivers license (I didn't want anyone to have a copy of it?).
- Joan (9/5): -
- Jesse (10/5): Fantastic -
- Kelemete (8/5): Max - The service Doors are hard to open
- Trish (5/5): - Central to where we were visiting Very run down
- Landaa (2/5): Wouldn't stay again - The location was good. And the manager was lovely. It was very untidy, there was mold in the around the shower and mouse poos on the floor around the beds, and the toilet was leaking on the first night we stayed and they organized a plumber who didnt even fix the issue, so since we already booked 2 nights we had to stay in the same room again with a leaking toilet. And just every where els was quiet untidy. For the price it was not worth it. Especially with the leaking toilet water and mouse poos . And dodgey wall plugs and extention leads to fridge etc.
- Ray (5/5): -
- Daljit (10/5): -
- Jesse (10/5): -
- default (8/5): - The location Nothing
- Georgia-may (3/5): -
- Tema (10/5): -
- Craig (9/5): . - . .
- Burgess (1/5): - One bed was comfortable Lights on all night
Dirty
Furniture old and peeling
Plates where dirty
Dishes bearly clean
Walls dirty
Only thing appeared to be clean was bedding and sheets
- Jeffrey (9/5): - I like the place near to everything
Nice rooms 👌 comfortable The TV won't work..
pillows and blankets should a soft or cotton blanket
- Ngawai (4/5): Dont think I'll come back here to stay location is great - Location Hard bed thin pillows very basic
- Kirandeep (10/5): -
- kevin (8/5): -
- Michele (7/5): Perfectly adequate for the price. - It was perfectly presentable - not flashy and perhaps a little dated but it was a comfortable bed for the night. There were basic tea/coffee facilities and the bathroom and kitchen were clean. The beds were comfortable with clean linen. The tea/coffee facilities were a little too basic but considering the price it was probably reasonable. The manager did say that if we needed anything to just ask, but nothing was so urgent to warrant disturbing their night.
- Kelly (10/5): Thank you so much for taking care of us on our stay. Use were very good people. - It was close to where we were supposed to be good location There was no dislike
- Margaret (3/5): - The unit was clean although the decor could do with a fresh look.
The curtains in the lounge need re-hanging and or replacing would improve the decor. Disappointed that the swimming pool was not available to use. No information advising guests of availability.
- Moses (8/5): -
- Famiza (6/5): -
- Ana Fotu (10/5): Convenient -
- Saina (2/5): Disappointing and Never Again. - Nothing to like about accommodation. Where do I begin. The whole room was outdated, curtains and blinds were disgusting, fly stuck on the dirty curtains, tv had to turn on and off from the switch, screen of TV was not clear, couldn't turn volume down or turn off on remote and remote batteries looked like someone chewed on them. Half toilet roll and no flannels, call owner and reception brought old smelly flannels. Towel on hot water cupboard, blue ice cream container at the bottom and so dusty and filthy. Bathroom mirror had rust around the inner frame, rusted hinges of cupboard and broken drawers in bathroom, can see dirts between shower and vanity yuk. I did not have a shower as it was gross. Put towels on seat before sitting on it, room smelt old.
We would've cancel but we were so tired and husband wanted to watch rugby. We stayed at Homestead Motor Lodge fri night for $145 and I would happily pay that again, much much cleaner.
Place doesn't have to be flash but I definitely expect cleaner standards.
- Mystic (7/5): -
- Tammy Thompson (1/5): - Location Only Rooms were Dirty, not suitable for a family with toddlers. Dirt was all over kitchen floor. I couldnt let my toddler crawl, their clothes would get dirty. Rips and stains on curtains. Musty smell
- Chris T (5/5): - Staff were very helpful with our late checkin and location was ideal for my business meeting.. Curtains did not block out the bright lights outside..
Didn't sleep well..
Need blackout curtains..
- Delon (7/5): -
- Karla (1/5): - Location This motel has emergency housing units and there was an incident the night we stayed. Very unpleasant stay for my children to experience, we had to call the police over this incident which occured at midnight, we did not feel safe.. We left the next day and had to find alternative accommodation and takanini motor lodge would not provide full refund.

- Michelle (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michelle (7/5): Stayed pet friendly - It was gd tht I could hve my dog with me and it was close to everything Whn I 1st booked in I was told pets are fine so wax checked in thn couple of days later wax told I had to move rooms because of my dog. The room was alot dearer by $50,abd and so dirty the curtains had mold on the bottom off them curtains rails think wth dust and dirt the floors looked like thy had never been cleaned and the Bathroom was the worst. Have taken photos b4 and after and the bathroom was outside of the unit like the old wash house used to be cold as h... at night time. As a motel guest I should not have to clean it b4 I used it. I showed the owner the end result abd said about getting a discount o no can't do that but thnks for cleaning it (lol) the manager said we didn't ask you (me) to clean it but I hate dirt.
- Tanya (5/5): Passable -
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Gabrielle (6/5): Pleasant - Nice people, very helpful. Good location being just off motorway and reasonably quiet Bed was way too soft and only 2 very thin towels, no hand towels or shower mat - we could have asked for some but we're just too tired to care - horrendous weather to travel in.
